Indiana Deals Thread
Atomic Hobbies and Games is discounting all their consoles. They are going to only carry games and no hardware. They told me on wednesday that they had a Saturn for $25. I thought someone here might be interested.

Disc Replay has some Saturn games in. Mostly common stuff. They had 3 or 4 tg16 hucards too.

I also decided this week that I'm going to start collecting old games again. I used to have about 130 Atari carts but I sold them when I graduated. So starting over I'm looking for old systems if and games if anyone is trading, selling, or junking them.

I have my nes torn open. I'm going to have to order a new 72 pin connector.
Are you the guy that contacted me on Craigslist this week? I called Atomic Hobbies and they said someting about geting back into games in april, I'm gonna head up there and check them out, I can't believe i have passed such a cool place and never even noticed it was there.

I think I have almost all of the systems from the major game companies, except the 32X. I only have two systems that are of the more obscure type: JVC X'Eye, and a Vectrex. I'm wanting to find the Sega Nomad, CDX, and the Turbografx-16. I would love to find some of those systems, but I'm more focusing on games right now. I'm really wanting to collect for the snes, saturn, and ps1. I'm especially wanting to get some of the Working Designs games for the ps1. Those are going to be hard to get complete.

I found an X-eye in marion this summer, it was there for like 5 months then i realized how rarer it was and the guy sold it the day before i went to get it....boo.

Disc Replay had a couple of top load NES, an SNES, some N64's, Dreamcast, PS1 and PS2's.
I think their DC was only $20 or $25, but I'm not sure. The NES was $60.

They have a ton of NES, SNES, and Genesis carts. I didn't dig through their PS1 stuff.

I spoke with Atomic on the phone, they said they had some N64's and I think an Xbox, and the Saturn.

Yep, that's me. I wondered if you were a CAG member.

Atomic is a pretty cool gaming store. It's small, but their prices seem decent, and the selection isn't bad on the miniature and collectable games. Their gaming area is clean. (As opposed to the Keep where someone pissed all over the bathroom floor last time I was there)

The Keep has games? I never knew that. I've never actually been in there.

Nah, The Keep is a RPG, CCG, Miniatures store, tabletop games. Atomic is mainly collectable card and mini games and RC stuff, but Video Games too. But it's a way nicer store, and the gaming area is cleaner.

in case anyone was still wondering. the wii kiosk at the south walmart is gone. they have some of the game bundles off to the side and the lunch boxes for 10. All the wii point cards are gone. Wasn't able to get out there for a week so I new I was out of luck. Thought I would let you all know.

custom robo arena for ds 9.99

poker 2008 14.99

2 copies of robo left. 2 copies of poker

if poker was 9,99 i would of grabbed it. but since i already have 2006 its not worth it

Yeah, that lunchbox deal is kinda sweet since the box is probably collectable, and it includes the car charger for the DS.

BTW, I can't usually post on the forums easily during the day, so if I see a deal, I've been doing an e-mail post from my phone to my blog. I added a link in my sig that will take you to just the posts tagged w/ "CAG".

BTW, I made the rounds on the north side of town on lunch this week.

Atomic Hobbies & Games:
I spoke w/ the staff. They confirmed that they're getting out of gaming hardware, and are going to start a big push on just games in Apr. They've reorganized and set aside about half the store with empty shelves for video games. They had a stack of PS1's and N64's for $20 each in the case, some loose controllers, a couple of Atari carts. They had a Genesis and N64 missing accessories for $10. They did have a gigantic original Gameboy case (the one that looks like a giant Gameboy). I didn't see a price. They said they are actively buying games right now.

Disc Replay:
They have a decent stock of NES stuff right now. The manager says he's seen at least one guy coming in with a big binder of prices and bulk buying stuff there to trade in at McVans. He said classic systems have been in short supply, he's only seen 1 TG16 and 2 Saturns since they opened, but lots of NES, SNES, Genesis, PS1, PS2, systems. He has big bins of accessories behind the counter, so if you're looking for specific controllers or adapters, ask to see the bin for that system. They had two Genesis2's and 1 original one in the case, $16 each.
Is Jay still one of the owners of The Keep?
No Jay is no longer one of the owners...

Also a spot to check is Lev's Pawn shop on North Wells Street for all you watchers online. They carry all systems and all games if they can. Nice selection of NES titles along with much more. Prices might be a bit steep, but working on more solid prices.

I talked to the guy there today. He has a Saturn for $40. Also a SNES2 for I think it was 30.
He says to check back around Tuesday because he has a big batch of carts that will clear and be avail to sell.

I got some books I'd like to sell at the book store over there. I might check that pawn shop out. I haven't been there in a little while.

I'm going home to Fort Wayne this weekend, so I'll be around.

Things have changed they are under new managment, and these guys know a bit about the older systems, I should know I am him...

I picked up the last 360 HD DVD at K-Mart. Not bad getting a drive, remote, and movie for 40 bucks after taxes.

EDIT -- The K-Mart on U.S. 31 in Greenwood

I got my NES working, woohoo.
I picked up a replacement 72pin connector on ebay and it works really well now.
Games still need cleaned because the pins are tarnished, but the system is working.
I was suprised that my Zelda 2 cart's battery still works.

Was it difficult to do?
I've been wanting to do this with my NES but have always been afraid its beyond my abilities.

Not hard at all. Actually I'm putting together a "how to" video that I'm going to post online.
I'll post here when it's done in case you want to check it out.

here is a guide with decent pictures if you want to see how it's done.

I've heard some people say the replacement connectors wear out faster than the originals, I don't know how true it is, but they're only $5 - $10, so even if you do have to change them again it's not a big deal.

Yeah, it's definitely worth it if you have to replace it every 2-3 years or so. I replaced mine about 2 months ago and the games play perfectly right after it was replaced.

I'll have to get one of those too. I bought my girlfriend a NES from someone on here and although I specifically said I wanted one that didn't flash, I got one anyway.

Arbiter, did your connector come with instructions? Did you need any special tools?

It came with basic instructions, but I thought those online ones were better.
You just need a philliips head screwdriver with at least a 3 or 4 inch shaft.

I would recommend the special security bits so you can open nes games. You can get those off of ebay as well. It's good to have a clean connector and clean games.

I really need to get one of those new connectors as well. I have two non-functioning NES systems in my closet.

Yeah, you can clean NES gams w/o the security bit thought, but you'd need it if you want to change a battery inside one.

You should clean all your games before using them with a new NES connector or you'll just crud up the new one. I wonder if that's why people complain the fix is temporary. Perhaps they end up putting their 20 year old dirty Mario / Duck Hunt carts in the new connector.

To clean a NES game, try cutting a "pink pearl" type eraser into a wedge shape so it'll fit in the mouth of the cartridge. Use that to buff the heavy crud off the connector. Then use a qtip dipped in rubbing alcohol to remove any residue. Make sure the game is dry before use.

OK, which one of you bought all of the Nintendo figurines from Toys R Us? I stopped by after class today to find that they were sold out! Who ever heard of 4'' Nintendo figurines selling out? And I really wanted a Toad one. *sad face*

But seriously, any other non-Fort Wayne-area members near a Toys R Us willing to pick one up for me? I'll be glad to compensate you for your time for a Mario and a Toad figure.

Wasn't me. :)
South Town Wal-Mart has DS accessory kits w/ a game packed in for $10. Looks like it's that board games 3 pack that includes battleship, or Elite Beat Agents in each pack.

In other news a family friend gave me a working Saturn for free. If anyone sees accesories in a local game / pawn shop, give me a shout or PM. I'm looking for another controller, and AV cable if possible. (system came with RF adapter)

MAn why cant appleglen or coldwater have those game packs for 10.

I think the south store overstocked on bundles for Christmas.
They've had something on sale every week for the last 3 weeks. This deal carried over from last week.

I searched for a good while on the A/V cables and could never come across any. When I mentioned that anywhere they all laughed at me. I finally had to go to eBay, $7 shipped and they are working great though.

not a deal but they got a cute hot asian chick working at Eb games at glenbrook.

walked in looking for some games and saw her behind the counter....

got to say so far shes the best looking that ever worked at eb

now watch everyone go out and stare at her LOL
Great video! I may try to change the connector in my girlfriend's NES - or pay you to do it.
It's not worth paying to do...I replaced one myself last year...cost me $5-6 shipped from Ebay and took me all of 5 minutes to replace using instructions off the web.

I finally traded someone for a PSP. I'm new to the system so I don't know if this is a new deal or not but...
Target on Coldwater has a few titles for $15 each. Capcom Legends Reloaded, some kind of Sega Genesis collection, Street Fighter (didn't write down which version), and MegaMan: Maverick Hunter X.

I've seen those games there at that price for a while. If I ever get psp, I would want to pick up that sega genesis collection. It'll be a while before I ever get a psp since I just got a ps3 off of gamefunk. So far, I haven't been able to locate any cheap ps3 games in the area. I've just been playing ps2 and ps1 games. PS3 games cost way to much at the moment.

Just curious, what model of psp did you get?

Although not the best game, I remember you said you like RPGs and Enchanted Arms is just $20 new. I'll be on the watch out for cheap PS3 games since I tend to look at PS3 games most.

I know I've posted this in just about all areas of the forum I'm close to, but I realized I never told you, it looks like I was scammed along with many other CAGs: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=178802

I tried calling their PD, but they told me I'm suppose to call our local one and they'll relay to the PD in AZ. Yeah, it sucks hard, but glad I didn't get screwed as bad as some.

Arbiter, I actually made a list of good PSP games somewhere around the forum. If I can find the link, I'll let you know. I'm pretty familiar with it, but I don't know that custom firmware or whatever (I just run official firmware and play all my games off of UMD or download games off the PS Store for PC).

bad thing about the sega collection that on mostly all of the RPG games the background blurs or turns dark.

paid 30 bucks for it on day 1 and probally only played it once or twice.

its worth 15 bucks just for Phantasy star 2 3 and 4

I guess I'll ask you guys here first instead of creating a new thread: For selling game lots on eBay, how do you guys organize the games? A mix from every genre and release year or lots by genre? I'm gonna try and get rid of my old PS2/Xbox games on there.
