Since the old thread was getting too large, I made this new thread to continue.

Apple iPhone & iPod Touch games in the App store are constantly going on sale. While I originally posted games and prices in this post, it's become almost impossible to keep up with it all. Feel free to post in this topic on good deals and games you enjoy. Developers are also encouraged to join in, especially if they are running promos or sales.

If you want to check out a particular game, try the following review sites, or ask in here so fellow CAG's can assist you.

Important Notes:

 1. Make sure to check for periodic updates either in iTunes or on your iPod\iPhone. For each release of new firmware, there's usually a bunch of games updated right afterward.
 2. Some applications also go on sale by their authors when they reach 1 million download and similar milestones.
 3. Apps often have specials the day before, during, and after holidays, regardless if said game/app is related to the holiday.
 4. Newly released apps will often have a % or dollar amount off for a limited period of time to gain a large following quicker. While browsing the app store you can go to a particular type or genre and order according to release date. This can make finding new app discounts faster.
 5. Make sure to backup your purchases in iTunes to CD/DVD for safe keeping. You can do this by clicking File-->Library-->Backup to Disc. Then choose all purchases, applications only, and full or incremental backup. How often is up to you, but I do this monthly, or more often if I buy a lot of apps.
 6. Apps can be redownloaded without incurring an extra charge if you previously purchased it. This is good if you have a crash and forget to backup your purchases. I don't know if this is a permanent feature so backing up regularly is still important.
 7. I strongly advise not to buy iTunes Gift Cards by 3rd parties unless you know they can be trusted. Retail stores, receiving cards as gifts, etc are the best ways. There are many credit card scams, stolen cards, hacked cards going around, especially on Ebay.
 8. If you are the victim of a iTunes Card scam or get your account locked due to one not all hope is lost. Apple has been fairly lenient on these issues. Call Apple directly at 1-800-MY-APPLE, or check the iTunes Store support site. Also going to your local Apple Store to discuss it can help. The account locking is an automated process and can be reversed. This can take time so be cautious if you use gift cards from 3rd party sources.
 9. If you somehow break your iPhone or iPod Touch, you have some options. If you bought the Applecare warranty it should be covered for most items. If your Applecare ran out or you don't have one, try these sites for do it yourself replacement parts & fixes.
Couldn't you have linked to an older article, jeez 2007
EXCEPT for the fact that my post was talking about several years ago. Didn't quite follow the chain there did ya?
Is Konami Krazy Kart any good? for $.99 it's very tempting
It's Mario Kart with Konami characters. Can't speak for the port but it was a great game back in the day. Well worth a dollar.

Okay, I picked up Sentinel: Mars Defense the other day and now I'm hooked on tower defense games. I'm thinking of getting Fieldrunners since all the reviews rave about it. Unfortunately, I've been spoiled by all the free and way cheap (.99) titles available lately. Is 'runners worth the $2.99? I've heard it rarely if ever goes on sale, either. Any CAGers care to comment?

Had fun with Field Runners. It never goes on sale so I bought it at the $3 and it was worth it. I agree about being spoiled with pricing.

+1 for Angry Birds, played it for 5 minutes and it's very Boom Blox like and worth $1.

Also, Hook Champ got the big update and it's really robust now. New minor update is on the way soon too.
Picked up a couple mentions from this thread as well as one of IUGO's sale items: Implode! for $1

Looks fun, plus I love cheap physics puzzles.
I just played the Lite version of Implode! and I really enjoyed it. Def. worth $1 to me, but I'm currently getting the 'being modified' message when trying to buy it.

EDIT: I was finally able to purchase Implode! a minute ago.

Sounds like there's some "VIP" section that is only unlocked by referring a friend, so if I do end up buying it, we'll have to share codes to unlock that.

This is totally random, but figured I would share....
I just emailed TransGaming, asking "when the heck will Puzzle Quest Chapter 3 on iPhone be released?" They responded:

"Thank you for taking the time to write to us.

We understand that PQ fans are eager to play Chapter 3 on their iPhone/iPod - and so are we!

Unfortunately, I am not able to comment on unannounced release dates so I can't say yet when
Chapter 3 will be available. It is still in the works and we are eager to have it in the App
Store as soon as we can."

Its been a really long time since Ch. 2 came out, just seems weird to me.

If anybody picks up the 99-cent 'Implode!' or any other IUGO Mobile game, my VIP referral code is 18237. I'll enter somebody else's if somebody enters mine. Apparently there's some extra mode in Implode! that's only available through this VIP referral system.

EDIT: Already swapped codes with someone and you can only enter one referral code. Thanks tenchim86.
Gah . . . decided to go ahead and get Sudoku, and I'm getting that "this item is being modified" crap. What the hell? I thought EA's sale apps were supposed to be all day?
Wow. I was just finally able to get this (been trying on and off since 2:00, and it's 11:30 now). It had been giving me the "item is being modified" message all day. Apple really has to do something about that, because that shit is seriously annoying and is probably losing them sales (I know that if I hadn't checked it now and had just missed it on the 99 cent sale, I probably would have just said "fuck it" and not bought the app at all. . . ).
Hey guys, what's the lowest Doom Classic has been, if ever lower than $7?
OMG this is my #1 most wanted app...:drool::drool:
Thats a stretch
I know. I would bite at 3 bucks, though. Even though I don't have an iPod touch yet. Waiting for the camera version.:drool::drool:

My advice would be to go to appshopper.com and look it up. The site shows the entire history of price raises and decreases. Not trying to be a dick, but I just didn't have the time to look it up myself.

bitFlip and Cheese Collect from appvent today

Edit: \/ that's hardly spam. Picked up Bombardiers Guild as it looked Gravity Sling-esque before the sale hit and have yet to play it. I'll be sure to take a look to see if I regret it.
Bombardiers Guild is awesome. Really cool concept and challenge.
appshopper.com/games/bombardiers-guild
Apologies in advance for the spam....

Bombardiers Guild is on sale at the moment:
*** Bombardiers Guild featured in Apple's "What's Hot"! ***
*** Limited time SALE - get it while it's HOT! ***

Ok. I'm the developer of said app and thought it might be appropriate - now that it's only 59p - to let you cheap arses know. It'll be on sale until the 22nd or so.

Hope you like it!

+1 again for Angry Birds. It's relaxing, fun, and quite entertaining! One of the better physics games out there! Definitely worth $0.99!

Hook Champ is a lot of fun too! Takes some time to get used to the controls but once you get it, it's a lot of fun!

Agreed with everyone else hat replied to this question. Don't think and just buy! :) You wont' regret it!
I really liked Tower Madness.. which is a free TD game. I played that game for hours on end.
Looks like there are two versions of Tower Madness. One was called Tower Madness ($0.99) and the other one is called Tower Madness Zero (Free).

Downloading Tower Madness Zero :bouncy:

fuck me, I looked at that site briefly but didn't notice it had price history. That's really what I was looking for, so call me stupid for not looking hard enough.

Electronic Arts has several .99 offerings today: Sudoku, Snood, Auditorium, Mystery Mania, Anytime Pool, and Zombies & Me. Whew.

Downloaded 7 Cities for free. Thanks for the heads up!

Today's appventcalendar free game of the day, "Cheese Collect", is pretty damn awful, but you might as well download it yourself and make your own mind up! Also free as the featured game there is "Bitflip". I downloaded it but haven't tried it yet.

Hehe, looks like I'm competing with Gravity Sling:

US store, games/strategy: position 77 versus their 74
UK store, games/strategy: position 75 versus their 100

Come on UK!

Anyway, back to working on the next version: online high scores & achievements... all that good stuff.
thanks for the implode! Recommendation. Lite version got me to buy the .99 full version immediately.
+1
Autostitch is a better panoramic photo app than Pano. It goes on sale for $.99 from time to time too, that's what I paid for it
Hey, thanks. I went ahead and dropped the $2 on Autostitch after your recommendation and reading a couple articles online. It didn't help that I've been getting the 'being modified' error for like 4 or 5 hours trying to buy Pano.

Yeah autostitch is amazing, glad I could help. Btw iphoneography.com is a great resource you should check out. That's where I first heard about that app.

IM+ is on sale for $2.99 down from $9.99. I've never seen it this low. I think I'm finally going to pull the trigger on that one.
