Welcome to the Japanese niche games deals and discussion thread!  Feel free to talk about local and import Japanese games here.  Our goal is to maintain a thread dedicated to active deals on niche games including RPGs, Visual Novels (VN), Shoot'em ups (Shmups), Musou, etc.  Also maintained are pre-orders for standard, limited and collector's edition games with key release dates provided.

I've wikified the thread to make it more friendly and open to others that can actively update with important information. You can find the wiki post directly below this one.

NOTE:  Please, leave the censorship discussion away from this thread.  It's common for japanese games to have questionable content outside of the country.  We want to keep discussions to the game itself and not about cultural/societal tolerance.

You can basically friend any of our members, or any moderator, and you will be able to request to join the community under "Communities friends are in" tab, and a mod will approve your request.

You can also leave your PSN ID in the thread, saying you want to join, and we can invite you directly as well.

YEP!!! I actually ordered Dariusburst CS for the VITA on Friday from Amazon Japan, and with their Global Shipping (The default, cheap option) I figured I'd get it in a couple of weeks.

DHL DELIVERED IT TODAY. That's right, I got it in 2 business days from Japan. Not only am I super happy, but with the weak Yen I might end up importing even more titles, even if I can't read Japanese. I'll probably pick up a few of the Rhythm games and shooters I missed.

Yeah they're shipping is ridiculously fast, I ordered a couple CDs from there (my precious Ai Shinozaki) but I just checked DOAX3 on there and it seems Play Asia is cheaper.

Was hoping Amazon JP had a bigger selection of 3DS plates in stock. Seems like most of them are just sold out by now

Might end up importing a couple games, but I just can't find anything I really want at the moment

 
Well, at least I don't have to buy from Amazon.co.jp and have it ship to my friend then have him ship it to me for $1-5 anymore. Though I suppose I still have to do that for third-party sellers on older games.

Ordered Puyo Puyo Tetris for the Xbox One from Amazon.co.jp, cost $34.05 shipped so only saved a dollar from the Play-Asia price.

Really it was a test to see how quickly I get the game.

You'd actually have to pay more because you get charged international shipping.

They charge a per shipment rate, and then a per item rate, so just make sure you know there are no free shipping options for international shoppers since they're mean. :*(

I'm seeing an even higher price on the LE at $56.23 (before the minus ten dollars coupon code).

Not sure why the $37.49 price tag magically jumps to $56.23.

Also, the "free shipping" is $2.48 (and the "estimated shipping" was $1.65).

There is some funny math going on here.

It took me awhile to get on board but I gotta say these Nintendo Directs videos are great.  I finally finished watching the video from last week.  Starfox Zero looks awesome and Tokyo Mirage sessions is a godsend.  Catmancer class in Bravely Second looks hilarious.  Your cats learn and re-cast the monster abilities!  Metroid Prime: Federation Force looks awful.  No idea what the hell they are thinking there.  In the video they are already having to explain themselves to fans.

Oh, I get it now thanks!

The code is taking off both 10 pounds and 10 dollars, but it is better to pay in pounds since it's a more valuable currency. Plus, like you pointed out, the Euro and US prices are not correct right now.

Should be about a week. It's a little slower than EMS.

Thanks for the heads up about the Limited Edition Steins;Gate. I've been wanting a physical copy, since the digital version I already have takes up a bunch of my memory card's space...

16 GBP ($23) was a pretty good price.
