Sometimes, Kmartgamer offers are only featured on CAG. Usually just due to personal bandwidth on my end. Blog offers for this week will be posted tonight to alleveate any confusion.

Important: The offers this week are instant bogo's, not coupons due to previously discussed issues we are currnetly facing with our coupon program which will be fixed soon.

They're sure are some silly (read: kinda dumb) people here. As for the coupon sitch at hand, Josh, I would just move everything over to SWYR, temporarily if possible and permanently. It's the easiest solution for everybody, no questions.

For people that signed up online and never received a card: I read that you could sign up for another card in-store and then merge accounts, I would try to do this.

For people that never signed up for a card: Do it in-store. I did this the day of Blops release at the customer service desk and I had no problems. It took 2 minutes to fill out the postcard-size form and I received my card. Then walked to the back to electronics and bought the game and the points were credited to my account (where they still are to this day, waiting for an opportune time to hop back on the coupon train).

OH, WHAT'S THAT SWYR POINTS? YOU DON'T EXPIRE UNTIL 1 YEAR+ AFTER RECEIVING YOU? YOU'RE WAY WORSE THAN LIMITING COUPONS ONLY VALID FOR 6 WEEKS OR SO. NO ONE WANTS YOU! But for real, SWYR is way superior than what we have now. No fraud, fewer hassles for customers, easy. It's a win-win. A slam dunk. The Omega. Just do it.

Also for all the people against SWYR because they forget the card or the cashiers don't prompt you, all I can say is get a hold of your consumer shopping life and take some initiative. That's all CAGs. Roll tide, all you little Russian spies.
That's stupid. I know they're using data from past CE sales to decide what stores get stock of the LBP CE and how many they get, but LBP is a title marketed for everyone, so you can't really use data on sales of CE's like Halo Reach and Assassin's Creed for a game like this. I'm going to miss out on a LBP2 CE because Fatso McHoarderton grabbed three Halo Reach Legendary Editions at some K-Mart in NY to try to turn a profit on.
How about you guarantee the first week sales of the LBP2 CE? So that every copy they don't sell, you get to personally buy.

Josh will sleep better knowing you guys all know how to do his job. Didn't realize so many CAGs know the inner workings of SHC.

It's not entirely up to them either.

Sony determines allocations of limited items like this. Bigger retailers like Gamestop, Amazon, and Best Buy that can show pre-order numbers get better allocations, unfortunately. I wouldn't blame Kmart. They probably bought as many as they could.

Besides, LBP isn't really a top tier franchise. The first one sold okay but it wasn't a day one blockbuster, more of a slow, but consistent seller. That doesn't mean LEs are going to fly off the shelves.

It was asked before, but I'll throw it out here because I really would like to know.

Since I'm going to be buying Mass Effect 2 on the 30th, does that mean I can get another MSRP game for 50% off since that deal lasts for 4 weeks? That would make it $75 for two games. I know it seems greedy, but I'm wondering if this will be restricted come January 30 because if not I'm totally taking advantage of that.

Thanks in advance for the heads up.

Are the collectors edition copies of LBP 2 that much better? I have a $20 coupon that expires that week, and was planning on using it on LBP2, so my question is, is there $40 worth of value in ordering the CE edition from amazon vs just getting a regular copy ($80 vs ~$42). I'm not even sure if LBP 2 will come with an additional coupon making the difference even greater. Thanks for the help.
Anyone able to find any Mass Effect 2 limited editions at $39.99? I have not had any luck :(
Mass Effect 2 Limited edition?
Mass Effect 2 Limited edition?
Yeah they've been marked down but they probably only have like 1-2 still around for the whole chain.

Glad I checked here before I went out to buy KH:ReC. Shame about my $30 coupon that expires on the 15th. Hopefully I can find a $50 psn card.

So did Josh ever mention anything about a deal for mass effect 2 for the week it comes out? I looked through the forums but could not find anything about that. I know about the week of the 30th deal where it is buy one get 50% off another or something like that but will there be anything release week?

Actually the deal for the week of the 30th is that it's on sale for $44.99. The B1G1 50% is the only offer that starts on the release date and lasts four weeks.

Here's the post about the deal for the 30th:
For Dead Space 2, I'm open for suggestions. I do not find the buy/get % off very compelling since it restricts price point. The instant conditional offer for points leads to numerous customer issues and I can't run GC's.

I think in Feb. SYWR points will solve as an interim fix but I do want to hit Dead Space 2.

BTW, for Mass Effect 2 PS3, I have it on sale for $44.99 and 50% off Dragon Age Ultimate Edition with purchase the week of 1/30. I feel ok on this title because of that offer.
And here's the post regarding the release day deal:
So here is the band aid approach for next week.

Buy Mass Effect 2 PS3 receive 50% off another $59.99 game. Same offer for Little Big Planet. The offer will run for 4 weeks.

The system won't let me make it for all price points. The only way I can do points cards is by making it an instant conditional offer and you all know the headaches at store level getting the associates to ring it up correctly. What are your thoughts?

For Feb/Mar offers I am working on moving our coupon offers to SYWR offers. I am being told that the first of April our coupon issue will be fixed.

Gift card offers are not possible due to the way they are calculated internally.

Open to suggestions of course.
If things switch to SYWR I'm cool with that but anything else and I'm going to have to start shopping elsewhere.

Having to buy two games each week just to get a deal isn't really a "deal".
I doubt anyone asked, but will Kmart carry the game Venetica?
It's not on BB's website either so I wouldn't think Kmart will have it.

Might be a dumb question but does the buy LBP and get 50% off another game have to be included on the same transaction? Also do I have to get another PS3 game or can I get a 360 game along with LBP?

The SYWR budget is separate than my own and I have to submit offers for approval. I will be submitting Feb. and Mar. titles for it but I'm not technically in control so it would only be a temporary solution. For coupons I have 100% leverage over so once we have a temporary fix and the hard fix at the end of Mar. everything will be good to go.
so I should wait a week and pick up Dead Space 2/LBP2 at the same time?

Or can I get LBP2 then bring the receipt in and get half off of Dead Space 2?
Unfortunately the bogo requires that it occur in the same transaction. Not an ideal offer, I know. I just wanted to make sure something was out there while we get approvals on temp and perm fixes for the coupons.

Just a temporary thing, just need a little time to work out some of the issues we have.

I just have to ask one thing from Josh when the deals go back to coupons (it's seemingly small, but I think that many of us here would greatly appreciate it).

Please, please, PLEASE, PLEASE get the information out that gaming coupons CAN be combined, and that more than 1 CAN be used per item. It's not a store-specific issue, but I don't think it's a stretch to say that plenty (most) of us have had issues redeeming multiple coupons. Either the clerks look at us like scammers, treat us like scammers, or treat you like idiots. I'm hoping that unique barcodes will hopefully alleviate your problem, and I know the issue is still months from popping up again (at least for me), but sweet Jesus please do something.

I know that I told one of the workers (who'd been great up to that point) about the issues I had had at a different Kmart, they found it appalling, and then I had the exact same issue with them :bomb:.

Just PLEASE try to get whoever it is that's feeding the employees bowlfuls of stupid back in the break room to stop. Please.

It's better than nothing.

Does the BOGO work on just games, or can accessories be added as well? I would love to pick up LBP2 and a headset ;)

I understand the frustration bud, I really do. All I can do is continue to communicate to the stores the real rules and make sure the coupons themselves are clear. Our issues for refusing stacking have definitely lessened. Mass communication has been sent out on multiple occasions.

The best course of action is for the individual stores that may not be getting it is to keep me in the loop on all incidents. Not just so I can take care of the situation with you fiscally but for follow up with the store.

I wanted to include accessories as well but the system restricts it to category and price which I find ridiculous. My only choice was $59.99 games basically.

Since when did that ever stop an associate or manager from denying them?

Even with it in all caps and bolded there were still plenty of issues. My point was more that Josh has 3 months to hopefully make the stores more aware, and to, more importantly, make the associates aware. There's nothing you can do if an associate at the store downright refuses to let you use a coupon, especially if they claim their manager is the one that set the rule.

It's great to see some company reps that understand the issues and customer frustrations due to inept associates.

I'm not sure really what you can do, since I'm sure you've tried everything. Just about the only thing you could do at this point would get the people doing this in major trouble, but let's face it, it ain't that big a deal- especially if it's just a peon worker getting instructions from a higher up.
Given your situation right now, are deals outside of new releases unlikely for a while, like say NBA 2K11?
January will be conservative but then I'll step on the gas again in the new fiscal year.

Josh since February is a short month is ther ANY posible way to extend the LBP deal thru february? Killzone 3 comes out the 22nd, and it'd be KILLER DEAL to get lbp and killzone for buy1 get half off deal.... so what do you say???

I know it's a ways off but does anyone know if Kmart will have any deals out for Dragon Age 2? Tempted to pre-order it today for the signature edition but wondering if Kmart will have a $20 coupon or something similar on launch week.

I know it's probably too soon to ask but curious to see.

You should probably start reading the last few pages of the thread.

Any news on You Don't Know Jack? That's coming out first week of February, which I think you said is in the new fiscal year, though I may be mistaken.

I e-mailed Josh last week...

Dragon Age 2 – The Signature Edition will be a CE retailing at $74.99 –Please see the attached document (it has everything included in the Signature Edition)

So the DS2 coupon isn't set in stone, right? I've been backtracking through the thread and I just want to make sure I understand what's going on before I settle on a purchase. I was looking forward to using its coupon on MvC 3 next month.

You have posted this twice now, and within 18 hours of each other. I can understand wanting confirmation on something that's about to release or something, but jeez, calm down. The release of the game isn't for 6 more weeks.
Josh already gave you guys a pretty damn good deal considering the circumstances. Be glad of that. You get 4 WEEKS to get a B1G1 offer. It's really too bad that you can't find some way to take advantage of it.

I'm confused. Either that info isnt quite right or I'm never buying a Bioware game again. From Biowares site talking about the Signature Edition:

"This special edition version of Dragon Age II is only available before January 11, so pre-order now!"

And also from a FAQ on their site:

"Will I be able to get the BioWare Signature Edition after January 12th, 2011?

No. The only way you can get the BioWare Signature Edition is by pre-ordering Dragon Age II on or before January 11, 2011. After that, the BioWare Signature Edition will no longer be available.

Or maybe Josh could offer the B1G1 for K3 when it releases, which would allow you to pick up LBP2 then. Same two games, you would just have to wait to play LBP2.

(I know it wasn't you who was asking, but I clicked on your reply to quote by mistake)

calm the hell down. the reason I posted it twice was because a lot of times, Josh doesnt read back more than a page and since he was posting a few times today, I figured he'd see it today then if I posted it again. and 18 hours is A LONGGG TIME on these forums. So calm the hell down.

He's probably still trying to finalize exactly what the deal will be. I think he said something about the deal only being for games that are priced $59.99 so it may not. Obviously just wait for an answer from someone that actually knows though :)

why would I email him that, when he has more important emails to worry about( customer service issues).... just drop it already, geez... the other person already said something tha tmade sense about making killzone b1g1 1/2 offer when that comes out which is a great recommendation if the coupons are not back by then.

wow dude, i was just making a suggestion. if you think he's missing your posts, then just email him. No need to post the same thing over and over.

Josh has shown he's very receptive to emails.

what about this guy He posted the same thign twice in one day, but he gets a nice reply? Just because he probably rephrased it a bit or because he said "i dont think it was answered yesterday," thats even worse, he's demanding an answer already. U guys need to relax.

Also, I've never seen the 74.99 price point before. This gives me hope that there will be another CE at that price. "Signature edition" with extra DLC isn't doing it for me.
