Best Buy has PMed TRU's offer of a $15 gift card with purchase of L.A. Noire

Edit: You also get 500 RZ Points if you pre-order which amounts to another $10 certificate. Thanks Defendthestar31 for the reminder!

Edit 2:
The BB Gaming App for the iPhone shows the game on sale for $48.99. Once you click to purchase, it takes you to the site where it shows $59.99. I know this may not help but it does at least reference their $48.99 price.
You can try to use this to get a PM in store.

My trip to Best Buy was disapointing. Not only did they refuse to match any other stores GC "deals" (kmart), but they would only give me the $10 GC from the ad, even tho I mentioned TRU doing $15 :(
I got the game there anyways cause I has exchange credit, but is there a main number to call to see if anyone cares about the price match on a corporate level?

They told me "we only match prices, not bundles with CGs"

I just went to BB customer service to exchange my 360 copy of L.A. Noire for a PS3 copy that I did an instore pick up on yesterday. As she was doing the exchange the girl said a $10 GC popped up on her screen and I get one with the exchange. Funny thing is, BB has already mailed me my $15 one. Dunno why it popped up but I'll take it.

Wow guys! I just checked my e-mail to check if I would get the price adjustment, but I think they made an error. Instead of getting back $12.00 back to my PayPal instead I got $21.00!!! I'm going to guess that the person flipped the number by accident, or BB really wants me business! This deal went from sweet to just awesomeness!!!!

BTW for the person inquiring what order mine was for the price adjustment it was an online preorder.
people are already getting the 500 RZ credits?
No they aren't, at best, they're seeing them on the list of pending points on the RZ site. It takes 30 days for points to post.
I don't think the Portal 2 ones have been deposited yet, last time I checked it was pending (as was the charge for Portal 2).
My Portal 2 points just posted today, got me a shiny new $15 RZ cert!

You should have at least got $15 card. That's advertised on the website.

I bought & paid for the game in store this morning, so I didn't use the website :(

You can go back and ask them to PM their own site for the $15 gift card.

Also just PMed the 48.99 price the price that was on the app through customer service.

getting the kmart pm will always be YMMV b/c it's not a giftcard it's a gaming coupon so this shouldn't be a surprise. They should have matched either their website or the TRU gc though.

You can get a direct line to most companies upper level Corp by searching under "investor relations". The key is to NEVER ask for the "CEO" or "VP" use their name like you know them.

I used this post from the BB forums page which has a response from a corp rep. specifically regarding TRU giftcard price matches. He left no wiggle room on how the store is supposed to handle it. Plus once the store # & location is posted on the forums this usually gets the attention of that stores regional manager.

I talked to a lady and she credited me back $11, and I even got the email that the $11 was applied to my order.

BUT, for some reason, my balance is still the same and hasn't gotten the credit applied to it yet. Worried that the credit couldn't be applied to my debit card.

You need to go back there armed with their own price match policy and rip them a new one. Here's the portion from their own website that talks about how they handle gift cards:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Help-To...ee/pcmcat204400050013.c?id=pcmcat204400050013

How do you handle a price match if the Best Buy price includes a promotional offer such as a free gift card or rebate?

The Best Buy net purchase price is calculated by deducting the value of all instant and mail-in discounts such as rebates, free offers and promotional gift cards. Existing rebates and free offers associated with a product purchased at Best Buy will not apply if a price match is executed.

How do you handle a price match if the competitor's price includes a rebate or other promotional offer?

The competitor's net purchase price is calculated by deducting instant discounts taken at the register such as instant rebates. Mail-in rebates and other deferred savings are not deducted from the competitor's purchase price.

How do you handle a price match if an instant gift card is included with a purchase?

The value of an instant gift card with purchase will be considered when calculating a price match. If the combined value of a competitor's product and instant gift card is lower than the combined value of Best Buy's product price and instant gift card, Best Buy will match either the price or the instant gift card value, depending on the offer.

Would've been interesting to have that in hand and try it earlier today, but alas... whatever. Got it thru Amazon instead.

I asked about leftover Naked City DLC from midnight, and they said they didn't receive any at all even though they did a midnight launch. Meaning, there was no real point for me to buy it from them due to tax + the mobile app showing $59.99 now.

Ugh, Best Buy isn't sending me mine until the 24th so I ended up buying it at Gamestop, any chance I could return my BB copy to Gamestop even though it doesn't have the DLC sticker on it?

Low. As people have mentioned, different UPC for each copy that has a exclusive item.

Just got my $15 GC points in the mail as well my Portal 2 points. Now I have $35 of credit to spend at BBY not including the LA Noire points. Hopefully Amazon can get back on track. I have a TON of credit to use there.

Can you just buy it at best buy then return the shipped copy to best buy when you get it

Heard from Best Buy today. I called on 888 Best Buy on Tuesday to price match the gaming app price and they approved it today. Got $12 back ($11 plus tax).
Can you just buy it at best buy then return the shipped copy to best buy when you get it
No, they have different UPCs.

For those who are calling and PMing the gaming app price, did any of you buy the game in-store? I'm assuming you all bought it online, but I figured I'd ask.
No, they have different UPCs.
I'm pretty sure the shipped Best Buy copy can be return to a Best Buy store.

Sorry, I replied to the wrong post. I was replying to the "return BB copy to GS" comment.

I bought it in the store (though I should have just stuck with my online pre-order and tried to match after the fact as some did). They gave me no trouble at all; I just showed them the app.

Good luck with that. Both stores in Sacramento and the one in Emeryville, CA refuse to honor the price match policies, so I imagine they're not the only store.

Then call corporate and have them get the store to follow policy.
Wow. Can we price match this?
I doubt it. The linked page says "Online Only" and "In-store offer varies."

I called them up and the woman said she had to refer this to the promotions department and they will get back to me in 3-5 days. YMMV at best, especially if you already got the $48.99 PM

I ended up not price matching for the 48.99. (I should have called while it still showed.) But I am on the phone now about the $20gc (I'm on hold of course).

Edit: Yeah, he is sending my info to promotions but indicated I would get a $5 gc for the difference. Guess we'll see.

FWIW, I pre-ordered online for and did instore pickup.

Kind of off topic but I received my 500pts from Portal 2 but that purchase put me over the $150 spending in games and I only received a $10 certificate. How would I go about getting this fixed because I see a 500 Bonus Points RZ Gamers Club listed as a points adjusment dated on 4/20. Would this be the extra $10 certificate I'm waiting for because then I wont call CS to get this fix and I'll wait the 2 days which it should be up?

Thanks

Bonus points can take up to 35 days to change from pending to posted. I would wait.

Update: Just got a call back (missed it) but the voice mail said that there was a "glitch" in the system and they are going to issue me an additional $5 gc that I should expect to receive in 7-14 days. Now I just need them to offer a decent deal on Infamous 2. (Sounds like the extra 500 RZ points from LA Noire won't post in time to use for Infamous. boo.)

Add the store #'s to the link below, send a pm to the Corp rep. he or a another Corp rep will contact the store and/regional managers to resolve the situation. Make a post if you have the ad of the pm that wasn't honored also.

just tell CS you don't wanna go thru the hassle of making an order online & having to wait for the delivery espcially since the game is in stock at the store. Most of the time BB will work with you sometimes you just have to say things like "I'd rather spend my $ here" it works.

I only have 1 pending purchase on my account and its for $0. I paid $48.99 for the game and did not use any gift cards or reward certificates. There is nothing pending to even show that I bought L.A. Noire. Has this happened to anyone else?

Another no-go over the Phone Line, lady told me only way to take advantage of the 20$ Gift Card would be returning it, and even then it would take more than a week to even see the new GC

It happened both times I used BB GCs to pick up Amazon GCs. The cashier both times asked for my RZ card and I told them it makes no sense why I should get points by buying GCs using GCs because you can do that process over and over again for free points. They both insisted I would get the points.

They also told me to go ask the customer service department, and they said the exact same thing. Regardless of how you pay, you're supposed to get points on your total purchase amount.

Still, both transactions posted 0 points and it's well outside the processing timeframe for one of them. I seriously don't think their system is set up to give you points if you're not spending "money". Might want to toss their customer service an e-mail though because I doubt any of the people in-store know shit about it.

I'm also interested to see if this is in-store. I've got some trade-ins I'd like to apply without making two trips.

So i pre-ordered the game online to get the GC, and i called BB customer service today to price match the $48.99, the lady i got didnt even know what the gaming app was. She told me its never been that price. No price match was done. What are you guys saying to make the agent understand what you are talking about and for them to price match it? Also what dept handled it?

Okay, I get that it takes awhile for the points to become posted but how long does it take for it to show up on your queue of points to be added?

They probally got an employee who had either handled it before, or had a general idea of what they were talking about

I did the pre-order Monday afternoon and picked up the game in store Tuesday evening. My RZ account shows 2 transactions...1 for 64.64 (the game plus tax) which shows 500 + 59 points pending. The second is a zero transaction with no points attached. Why there is a 2nd transaction showing I have no idea. But my 500 + 59 does show as pending where I image it will stay for the next 30 days.
