League of Legends anyone?

that ult looks like trash wtf?

didn;t see that it stealths him. still.. they;re going to have to make his other abilities to a shit ton of damage which means hell early game vs him.

Their reasoning behind releasing like no supports is that nobody likes to play them. They say why make more when nobody will play it anyway. I think they also said their goal is to make 2 supports a year but no more than that. I actually really enjoy support so it sucks for me, guess I'll be using Lulu and Taric forever.

Try Soraka. She's my favorite.

I think they make so few supports is because it's very difficult to make one that won't overshadow the ones that already exist. In addition to the money thing. No one wants to spend RP for a champ that doesn't get kills.

That's true, I guess there's not much you can do to differentiate a new support from current ones.

I tried Soraka a long time ago but wasn't too into her because she can't get away from anyone. But I bet that global heal is pretty awesome. I'll have to try her again.

Lane with an AD carry that isn't a derp and you should do fine. I also find that the only items you really need on her are CDR boots, Philo/Shurelia's, HoG, and Aegis. Once I have those, I just buy wards and slowly build towards either Abyssal, Randuin's, Locket, or Zeke's.
that's pretty much the build for every support.

i started skipping HoG though just to change it up
Soraka is the only support I've played who really only needs those items and is set for the rest of the game. Alistar and Blitz go OOM very fast, so they need Sheen or Frozen Heart. Janna has horrible defenses (made worse with no heal), and Taric generally needs some MR.

as janna that's what i've been doing. you have aegis to cover your defense and you're more reliant on your skills to keep you and/or your ADC alive (preferably your ADC).

So I've been reading up on these Kat changes. Seems most of the 'good' Kat players think they are trash. Tiensinoakuma wrote a lot about it, and it looks like Riot is listening a little.
The thread is here
Basically even though they gave her BB more bounces, they nerfed the dmg enough to stop her early game harass. Shumpo also does less dmg, and it's longer cooldown means it can either be used for an escape or to initiate, but you wont get both in one fight. Theres more problems covered, but those seem like the big ones.

you don't need healing to be a support

this concept is so cool

was playing yesterday and i pulled off a pretty sick move as support

vs ezrael/leona, i'm lulu w/ cait

cait out of position, leona and ez running at cait. cait's on their side of the river near that wall thing and they're coming from just above bush.
i shield cait as she eats a zenith blade and ez auto attack + poke. she gets exhausted and flashes as i hit the speed boost on her and put some damage on ez as i run back. ez uses his teleport to get more damage, so i exhaust him and put some more damage. cait turns around and hits a Q on leona and ez, ez is super low now and is scared so he flashes away, but i follow with a flash E to secure the kill but not before i eat a Q from ez. now i'm weak and leona's chasing me with cait behind, leona has higher movespeed than me. my Q comes up in time so as i lead leona to cait, i hit her with a Q just before i die, enabling cait to get a Q in for the kill.

sweetness.
too many players whining about how they're too good for support, pfffft.

Lulu is probably my favorite support. My friend plays Tryn and Malphite a lot so our favorite combo in team fights is his spin or charge into their whole team, I shield and ult him and cupcake (Bittersweet Lulu FTW) their adc or ap, whichever is closer.

Does anyone here watch tournaments like MLG or IPL? Some of the shit those teams pull off is crazy. The only thing that sucks about those game is that it's always the same champs selected, I'm getting really sick of seeing Corki vs Graves bot lane, so boring.

I watch them when I can. I remember seeing a really good game where one team had Alistar and a Jungle Lee Sin. Very shortly into the game Ali would flash in behind the Enemy mid and hit him out from under his tower. Lee Sin would be waiting, and would kick them back even further. Then their mid would kill them off. Amazing coordination.

sometimes i watch tournaments but it seems so stale and dry compared to watching fighting games. especially the crowd. golf claps after plays and stuff.

also compared to solo queue it's more coordinated and safe so sometimes it's not the bloodbath hilarity that i'm used to.

this clip made me laugh because of the hilarious commentary and because of the golf claps after the play.

"they're setting up an ambush for westrice! don't go near that bush westrice!"
thanks mom

"high level" lol games are really really boring just due to the nature of the game.

it becomes a test of patience and in a game that is always trying to avoid promoting passive play, it goes against their own design.

luckily there are bads everywhere and impatient people too that make the game more interesting for everyone.
I say why watch someone play a game when you can play a game yourself?
you could learn something from it that you couldn't normally playing with the people at your current level.

While this may be true for some games, I also watch Starcraft 2 pro leagues. Those games are extremely fun to watch. They do stuff that I could never do in my entire life. I'd like to think I learn things from watching pro games, but there's a point where you're just not fast enough to do the things they do in SC2.

There's definitely things to learn in watching pro LoL games, but most of it amounts to very good teamwork or crazy tower dives. I'd much rather watch SC2, but I'll watch some LoL too if there's a high level, high profile tournament going on.

I've tried to watch fighting games, kain, but that's not my cup of tea. From the few games I've seen of MK and SF, it's 20 seconds of blocking, one huge combo, 15 seconds of blocking, and another big combo to finish it off.

i used to watch BW. when i saw SC2 everything looked so doable and that's why i can't stand it. and the crowd just ain't as hype as BW either.

i hate sc2.

annnnyway,
i like watching pro players play solo queue for both insight and for entertainment. theoddone's stream is really good as is scarra's. but i'm not a big fan of the pro scene so far.

"why watch a game when you can play it"
lol @ the olympics then

Yeah because video games are the same as competitive and professional sports

a game is a game. why watch people run when you can run?

it's pretty legit in all respects and it works in different hobbies for different people. some people would rather watch certain things than play them.

i mean i'd rather go bowling than watch people bowl even if there is professional bowling.

started playing nunu again. loving it. he is one versatile dude.

first game played him as a jungler, specifically a counter jungler. did pretty good, pulled off a few ganks and had a hyper aggressive garen on our team that was always willing to go for the kill which paid off. couldn't do anything for waughoo mid against morgana though, stupid black shield.

second game played him as support bot with darius partner (lol spacegodzilla). we wrecked a twitch/kayle combo. no stun=lots of fully charged ults to their face.

final game played him as solo top vs an irelia. it was pretty easy because she really wanted to bully me and had nothing to deal with me. she just doesn't have the burst to take me down between consumes and free iceball harass with autoattack meant i won every trade. she must have been frustated after awhile and would chase me well beyond the safe mid point which meant a free kill for our udyr (zinrae of the 5k ping).

every match i started by consuming their big wraith which seems to frustrate the jungler and put them behind ours a bit.

One of those games I had a Kat mid against me, which is probably only because they want to get some games in before they change her. She actually was pretty good, and I was terrible with my snares all night. She got one kill on me because Rammus ganked for her. And she got another in the jungle later because I'm dumb and tried to help kill her when my health was like gone. But I had a few kills on her too. Either way I won then lane :)

i played a blind normal game yesterday with some friends and i got mega farmed as vayne, with a BT and 2 PDs. we took their mid inhib and then we started screwing around trying to get as much money as possible. while their inhib was down their lee sin was trying to tower tank our first mid turret and take it out since it was low. i ran up behind him and... stared him down and watched as the tower executed him.

also earlier in that game, i ran past blitz and tower dove against trist and barely took her out. i was gonna get out with very few health after taking one or two tower hits... but then their blitz pulled me back out. thanks blitz.

Nice going, Waughoo. At least it's not as bad as when CAG wasn't recognizing separate lines without HTML code in it. I remember I posted the patch notes and it was just a giant clusterfuck
