LEGO Deals 3

I just got a new magazine and catalog, the magazine is tell me it's the last one! From now on I will have to go online! Anyone else getting that?

S@H already has the CMF series as 'sold out' so of course the LEGO world is freaking out and saying they are being recalled and all types of crazy shit.

However this could be a bigger problem for fans. If they are selling so well then why not increase the price again? Keychains went up $1 at the first of the year, why not make the Disney series (That hasn't been officially announced.) $5 each if they are selling so well?

Does anyone else have trouble loading this thread on Tapatalk? I wonder if it has to do with the fact that we are nearing 10k posts. It might be time for LEGO Deals 4.

I broke my pledge not to buy $3.99 CMFs plenty of times, but I think I'm burned out on feeling up bags. I have only seen the new series a couple times at Target and every time passed.

I just find many $10-13 sets to be a better value although there are still some great CMFs. My laziness and cheapness are joining forces.

Thankfully I'm not much of a Disney fan.

I skipped pretty much every series since the $4 price took over. However I then saw how much on the secondary market these damn things are an bought queen, shark guy, and golden guy. But like you said after awhile it's like "I spent $X on that?". I used to buy a whole set and several extras but now it's just not worth it. I still want pig suit guy, unicorn suit person, king and a few others but won't worry too much. Like you said, it's harder to feel the bag up and $192 a year on the three series you can get the new bank set, or the ferris wheel.

I bought the monster themed one, series 14, outright on ebay. It was kind of a mixed bag (get it?) but we bought a really cheap display case at Target when they had some on sale and my son really likes keeping them in that. I'll likely buy the Disney set on ebay as well if I can do it for 15 bucks above MSRP. I've mostly stayed away otherwise and wanted to ask if there was anywhere these things go on sale?

The currently rumored to be recalled based on nothing series 15 is currently on sale for 5% off at TRU. Series 12 was $3 in January from TRU, and they sometimes do 2 for $5 or $6 sales around Christmas, but I have never seen any in stock then.

The Lego creative building set 10702 was $15.00 at my Walmart
Here is the item number 47335830
These boxes don't stay closed very well and a number of them were already opened.

I picked up the Creator Blue Jet today for $35 at WalMart....mine always seem to get picked over fast.  Brickseek said the store had 2 or more of the SpacePort for $30, but nowhere to be found....hard to hide a huge box like that.

I can confirm the $17.98 price at Target...204-00-1714.

A lot of stealth drops at Walmart.  I got the Creator Jet for $17.  Force Awakens Falcon for $35.  Kylo Rens Shuttle for $60.  Anakin's Custom Starfighter $9.  Imperial Assault Carrier $30.

Damn guess I should have held out a little longer

Just checked brickseek and it dropped hours after I left. Would they adjust? I've already built it so return/rebuy is probably out.

Looks like they may have one more on hand. I may have to buy that one the return on my first receipt.

Somehow despite being a big LoSH fan I had no idea that the Cosmic Boy polybag was exclusive to the new Bluray/DVD movie until I happened to see a copy at Costco.

Now where's Saturn Girl?

I was wondering this the other day too. I want more LoSH minis!

I forgot, but I was going to mention yesterday that my last free Lego order was cancelled at Kmart. I called SYW today and it took an hour, but they actually refunded the glitched points that I won and I was able to go get the sets in store tonight. So yay! I'm excited to have gotten all I actually ordered from them. Now to actually find time to build...

My Scooby van from AWD finally came in and it had a quarter sized hole in it and otherwise was fine. No problems at all. That's the 28?th time I bought a set and still no issues. Biggest problem was one Spiderman set had bent to hell stickers, but that's normal anyways.  The van is awesome, the useless amount of stickers is not.

Brickset.com has been doing some fun new articles, like Throwback Thursday and one on hotdogs and buns. However they have done two articles now about "Where did the raised baseplate go?" and today one about 2x4 bricks, both of which are rather iffy. They never bother to ask LEGO where the baseplates went and it had no conclusion besides 'They disappeared" and didn't really go into the fact that there are so many sets now-a-days to dilute where the 2x4 averages.

They also 'reported' on the recall of series 15 mini figures because they are sold out online at S@H. They didn't bother to contact LEGO, or even go to the brand stores and ask, they just reported on a rumor that had no grounding. If they were recalled then they wouldn't be in brand stores or the biggest toy store (only one) chain, and they would have made a statement. But why make a statement when fear gets your site clicks.

So I have a question, do you guys and gals think LEGO sites are news sites, like some video game sites that try to somewhat confirm things, or just fan blogs that report anything without cause?

So much is just regurgitation. I found that with video games when I google search the same info is repeated on every site almost word for word. Essentially press releases with no reporting.

With Lego, access is that much harder since it's not a publicly traded company. I do think some of the blogs are great. Much better than Lego is at sharing what's new. One recent example: I go on shop.lego to see what the March sets are but the "newest" filter is all sorts of screwed up.

Tl;dr both industries need better journalism but the best sites are still very helpful.

Brickseek has been inaccurate for me lately.  Said all the new Bionicles were on clearance for like $4-$5, but I could not find a single figure.  I did end up getting an older one for $1....yep, a Buck.  It was the smaller Stone set from last year, but hey....$1.

It was for me the other day too. I went back to target to buy another one of those buildable figure sets for $17.xx so I could return it with the receipt from the $41.xx I bought the day before. They were all still $41.xx. First time I've had a price be wrong.

FYI if you live near a Shopko they have a three day friends and family event with a 20% off coupon that covers clearance too. I picked up the Ninjago DX vehicle for $51 and the large fire station for $60.

Was able to find the shuttle launch set for $30. First better than 50% deal that wasn't a polybag in some time. Thanks walmart crew for never updating $89 price tag.

Oddest find was Hobbit worg set for $35. They must've found them in the back. I passed since I already have a couple. Surprising after a couple years they're still at $35.

That's happened to me when the markdown crew hasn't done their thing yet.

So my son and I are pretty into Star Wars Rebels since we started watching it recently.I was looking for the Ghost and found it a local store but I noticed Target and Brickseek have conflicting stock. I don't want to drive out there if I can help it unless I know it's there but I'd also love to know if it's clearanced. Are there any other sites that could tell me the stock with accuracy in the Atlanta area?

Fyndly.com is good and also shows clearance prices. Surprised you still have the Ghost in you area. Haven't seen that in my area forever.

Busy weekend - had some gift cards/exchanges so waiting for double VIP points wasn't an option - picked up the Brick bank with Kai's mini dragon (usually don't care about Ninjago but this one is cool), carbonite freeze chamber and the Grievous/Kenobi two pack which was on clearance at Target for $18!

You couldn't wait until tomorrow to get double points?

Same with me and my son. I couldn't have cared less about these sets initially, but now that we've been following the show we've had to scramble to find them.

I just saw the ghost somewhere. Let me know what store you were seeing it at and I'll see if it was one I've been to recently.

I was looking to go to thee Duluth (pleasant hill) Target in Georgia. Target.com says limited stock but brickseek says zero. It looks like B&N has it and I could get around 27% off that with my coupon and discount but if I recall correctly it was clearanced at 50% for a while in many stores so if that Target had it at 45 bucks that would probably be worth the drive. Calling a Target has always been futile in my experience or I would have done that as well.

Though others say never call, at this point I would. Call toys or electronics and give the DPCI and have them look. I saw these recently at Walmart. I just can't remember the exact location, I think the stone mountain location on memorial.

Do you remember if they were on a decent clearance? O:) I'll go ahead and call the Duluth store and see what they say.

I don't recall. I was searching for tyderium shuttles and some other sets but had little luck. I was surprised to find phantoms and speeders too but most were at retail so I passed.

Mini?

Checked BrickSeek and no Ghosts at any Targets or Walmarts in my area. Not surprised though as I haven't seen them in ages

Thanks, the good news is there's a B&N near me with one. The bad news is that they don't allow the use of coupons anymore so the best I can do is my 10% which essentially makes it tax free. Anyone have any thoughts on if it's a good set or not?

Check Barnes and noble. You can go on their website and do pickup in store and it will tell you if it is in stockand you can reserve it. A few stores near me in Maryland have it.

The big car set that goes for $99. I think it's $75.
Oooh Mini Cooper, got ya

BN coupons never work on Lego with the exception of the architecture sets which are classified as educational toys

They used to all the time. I even got them to work on Lego Mindstorms when the coupon only stipulated those and not other legos. My guess is that employees were either manually entering the discount out of convenience and that they recently received an upgrade that started working with the UPC and maybe even updated employees on it. Heck, I used one on Saturday for the Scooby Van and it worked. Not a huge deal, just makes the membership a little less valuable to me.

There was a listing for a Mini Cooper for $50 on Craigslist near me On December 18th and Feb 21st. I want the set and wondering if it's a fake thing because who would wait that long to relist it?
