So they are already clearencing PoP sets?!?!?! at 50% off? @ Target??
I found the 3 smaller sets at 30% off a few weeks ago, and only at one store. Weird, huh? Isn't the film still in theatres? Must be because they were on an endcap and had no aisle location designated (I will keep on eye on the Toy Story 3 stuff at this store). Quest Against Time and Alamut are still full price. This was at a regular NOT a Super Target, if that means anything. Some naive shopper tried to hide a few POP clearance behind other non-clearanced sets. They will have to learn the hard way that soon the LEGO section will be re-arranged, their hiding place will be exposed, and their hidden set will be placed on an endcap or clearance aisle, where it will be easily spotted by a parent or collector and snatched up right away. ;)
Actually I've uncovered lots of LEGO caches at Target lately - I even found a lonely new 8/6 SW set (Palpatine's Shuttle) hidden behind some Duplo. Not sure what happened there - probably someone had the DPCI and asked an unknowing employee to bring it from the stockroom, but then changed their mind. And I found a stashed IJ Cairo set behind some TRIOs which rang up at only $5.50 :D Sorry to whoever hid that one - it is now mine!

My Targets are both SUPER.. and they suck because they only clearenced like the old City sets, some SW sets, and a few power miner sets. They did one Space set and that's it.

lame... might have to check back ... maybe my sister can pick up some.

Keep checking your Targets as random sets may appear when they start to reorganize the shelves and aisles (stuff from the back or returns). My store has a clearance aisle in sporting goods right next to the toy section I didn't even know about...no Legos left though.

Borders just sent me an email with a coupon for 50% off Star Wars items...EXCLUDING STAR WARS LEGOS! fuck you Borders. I'd given up on ever getting a deal there again, but got this email and my heart started to warm up to them again...and then I read the fine print. fucking tease. I'd opt out of their emails if my wife didn't like buying books so much.

If its any consolation, I don't think they carry many SW LEGOs anyway. I think the last time I went they only had a Freeco Speeder. What I'm wondering is what Star Wars items are they referring to? Do they carry action figures now? Are they talking about only DVDs, CDs, books, and magazines? If books are allowed, is the LEGO SW book with Luke minifig excluded, just because it has LEGO and SW together? Pretty lame coupon, Borders!
I got Lego City Airport 3182 complete with some loose pieces at a garage sale for 10 bucks. Great deal for my nephew.
Considering that's a brand new set with a MSRP of $99.99, that's an awesome deal. I managed to make it down to my local Lego store yesterday and got a whole bunch of good parts off the PAB wall.

Shockingly enough, they still have bamboo, tree branches, and palm leaves.

I probably shouldn't complain, though

The last time I was at my local Lego store the PAB had both stairs and palm leaves. Needless to say I loaded up a cup with as many of both I could manage to squeeze in.

I do the same thing when the harder to find items come in.

I have noticed, if it's of any help to the people near lego stores, that if you look at the current pieces out in the last few years, the pieces in these kits are usually the ones that lego stores can get in for the wall. If you ask for certain parts, they try to get some of it in. It may take a few months, but if you've ever stuffed a cup with just one part because of the fact that you need it, and it's never been there, then you'll understand :)

Another PAB tip is politely ask if they have any different pieces in the back. Oftentimes they'll have a wider selection than available spots on the wall, so if they're cool they could bring out some boxes from the back. Obviously you'll have better luck with this when the store is very quiet (which isn't often, I've found).

Too Husher or anybody else at that, some Targets are receiving shipments of Cad Banes Speeder. Here's the DPCI 204-00-0605

I regret not buying more of the stair pieces, I didn't want to fill the cup with stairs so I only got 2 ='(. I need to go back this weekend and get some more palm tree leaves, if there are any left.

Tree branches? Which one are you regerring to? My local LEGO has only the bamboo and palm leaves and it's been in stock for month! That reminds me... I need to go in there to get more bamboo.
It's crazy how much less you get without organizing it.
Me and my wife have been packing our cups since day one. Call me cheap, but I think that if they're going to let you fill up a cup, and you're not stacking your pieces, you're wasting your money.

I think we can get an average of about 800 pieces in our cups. But we're usually there picking up the odd things/colors that aren't usually there.

I read on this site about Lego clearances but I never see them myself, so today I decided to do an experiment. I went to 5 Targets, 3 Kmarts, and 2 TRUs. Total Lego sets on clearance: 0. Not a single set on clearance at any of the 10 stores. No place for them on the shelves, nothing in the clearance aisle, nada. Oh well. Now I don't have to feel bad about missing clearances since it looks like they just don't happen in my area.

Clearance stuff doesn't last very long, and you're late to the party.

Kmart started a clearance cycle over two months ago.

TRU put some sets on clearance over a month ago (and then took off another 25% for the clearance sale these past three weeks).

Target clearance started three weeks ago along with alot of other popular toys like Transformers.

Gotta jump on these things early.;)

Yeah, I understand, that's what I really meant to say -- not that it doesn't happen, just that it's impractical for me. I only get out to any of those stores about once a month.

I always thought husher got the awesome Target Lego deals that nobody saw, but boy I'll tell you what. I made out like a bandit the past few weeks. All the stuff I got was 50% off which I won't take a second thinking about it because I know if I don't get it that price it would be rare to get them at 75% off. I've only seen one set at 75% off and that was last year, it was some Agents set I didn't really care about. I've only been lucky at Wal-Mart once too, I picked up an At-Te for $45 right after Christmas. I guess its just luck and when the prices drop. I'm going to go to Target after work tomorrow to see if I can finish my Christmas shopping!!!
So has anyone seen any Slave 1's in the wild? Is August the expected delivery date for series 2 of the minifigures as well?
I was told by someone from Lego that is was September. Was also told that 2 more series have been confirmed for next year.
So has anyone seen any Slave 1's in the wild? Is August the expected delivery date for series 2 of the minifigures as well?
I just put the Slave 1 together tonight - my wife found it at the Fargo TRU last Sunday. I must say, it was a difficult build for a set that size. It didn't seem to stay together well for the first half of the build, but then it came together very nicely. Lots of neat effects and the minifigures are well done.
I was told by someone from Lego that is was September. Was also told that 2 more series have been confirmed for next year.
It seems that EU has already have stock of it at a few particular stores.

For US, prim is right that Sept is when to expect ours.

I still don't see S1 coming to Target.... and even my TRU stated that they won't get it. So seeing S2 will be rare also, and I'll be stuck going to Borders AND ordering a box to fill have my wants and none of my needs.

I found a lonely Battle of Endor at Target today for ~$50 and it was NOT marked as clearance - I had to scan it to see the price. Its the only store that has it on clearance around me, and I've been checking them regularly with phone calls and recon. I plan on buying a few more for full price at another Target that is fully stocked, then doing the return and re-buy thing at the Target where it is clearanced. I know its kind of a shady way to get the cheaper price, but I really need more Biker Scouts, Ewoks and Endor Rebel soldiers, and I don't think they're worth spending $100 per set just to get them.;) I also found one City Corner for ~$30. Everything else was still only 30% off.

In regards to Series 2 of the minifigures: I would take that September date with a grain of salt. Remember, Series 1 showed up way earlier than the "official" LEGO-stated release date. For me, I'm still calling Target with that DPCI once a week.

Lucky. I've got a store that has two Temple of Dooms on clearance but the shelf and the boxes have no clearance labels...hoping they fly under the radar a little while longer.

Road trip;)

Finally after about 3 weeks of 30% clearance at my target, I finally found some for 50%. All Star Wars cleaned out, but I managed to pick up Space Police Galactic Enforcer for 49.99. Haven't built a large set for years; needless to say it was joy.

I saw the Slave 1 at at least one TRU around me. It might have been at both I went to last weekend. I was surprised to see the new SW sets after I heard TRU supposedly pulled them until August.

Just got a $5 off $5 coupon in my e-mail for TRU rewards members.

Might be good to stack with the B1G1 50% Lego sets... Or I might pick up a nearly free Lego Creator or Lego Racers mini set for my son...

Just a FYI to you guys to check your e-mail!

Got Ben10 #8411 and #8410 for $3.74 each at Target today. Also picked up the Ostrich Race for $9.98 and Hyperspeed Pursuit for $24.98.

I actually grabbed one of each of the Ben10 without looking at the tags assuming they were all $3.74. However, the other two rang up for $7.48:bomb:...passed on those.

The two Ben10 sets were the only sets that dropped to 75% off, but that is a good sign the other Lego sets will be on the 30-50-75 schedule.

Lots of other toy lines dropped to 75% off also including Star Wars and Transformers...go get those cheap presents/gifts while you can!

I'm not too big on Lego collecting, but is 5 bucks too much for a minifig? I can understand for some rare ones like Lego Spiderman, but from experience can't you build 3 of your own at a Lego store for 10 bucks?

I guess I have to be in VA to see the 75% sets. All the clearance Legos are long gone at my stores and I know they didn't even drop to 50% off yet.

The anwer to your question will vary with each person and depending on how bad a person wants a particular minifig, the price will be different. Obviously, the hardcore collectors don't mind paying the premium.

The most I've paid for a minifig was $22 on eBay for Catwoman and her purple bike. What's too much for you?

As far as the ones at the LEGO store. The selection has improved since they first introduced the buuild-a-minifig concept, but they're still basic minifigs. You won't find the themed minifigs there. If you just want a basic minifig, you're better off buying individual parts on LEGO's PAB online. You can get everything from torsos, upper body, heads, headgear and accessories. FREE SHIPPING until the end of July.

I recently broke and finally bought myself the Gold C3PO for $110 shipped, that was the cheapest price I've seen it in a long time. It will probably be the one and only figure I will pay that much for.

Yes considering the set was $5 clearance at S@H for weeks and weeks.

Got the mailer today for 8/6 - 8/29

Looks like the Toy Story Alien is a give away with any Toy Story 3 Lego purchase. Weird we were shipped these so early with no direction about them. Hopefully stores that sold out, will get them back in since this is a 3 week+ promo.

Mailer shows the Chrome Stormtrooper as the Star Wars mini figure give away.

Yeah I stated yesterday that EU has them... I like the blue bags better than the yellow.

I wonder what color they will pick for 3 and 4.

I wish Target would have any of the sets you guys are getting... the only thing I manged to pick up is a small racers car for $3.
So much for not being able to use the barcode trick anymore. I see 2 barcodes on the back of the bags.
I believe the removal of the barcodes begins with Series 3. Series 2 was alreaay in production when the trick was discovered for Series 1, so it was too late for the LEGO Group to go back and conceal the codes on Series 2. I think...
