Lost Season 3!!! (Beware of Spoilers)
It's fairly obvious, but for the people who didn't catch it:
The two business men who try to hire Juliette in her flashback (Ethan and the other guy) work for the company that created Dharma. Ethan will probably have a much bigger role now.
Yea I could tell that cause some of the pictures they were showing her. To get her to go to "portalnd." Looked like the little the village they were living in when they saw the plane blow up in the sky.

I just realized after seeing Juliette's story that all the people on Lost have one thing in common and thats murder, or death. Murder or death brought them to the island in some way. Or affected them on the island.
hey Jek Porkins!!!

if your name didn't have 'Porns' in it,

then you would be Jekki,

like me!!!

anyway tonites epidode was hella tite!!

they had that guy all strapped up to the TV like he was watching that video from the Ring

and Desmond's gonna be like "u okay brotha, u see a ghost eh? see u in another life brotha"

and then it will become a mystery of the island.
On the name thing: If you hadn't joined before me, I'd be freaked out. Your avatar's cuter, though.

On the TV being like the Ring: I think it's more a reference to A Clockwork Orange. Eyespeculum and all. :)
I liked tonight's episode. It was definetly the best they've had all season (all 7 episodes so far anyway...) and has me excited to be watching the show again.

So we know Ben is Alex's father and the french woman, Rousseau, is her mother. So... yeah, somebody's got some 'splanin to do...
i think most people knew ben was the father before the fall cliffhanger.

last night show blew if you ask me its getting too common. You knew what would happen to that womens husband even before it happened.

Im waiting for some lip reader to post what ben really said.

Last night show is a good reason why they are looking at ending the series. it moved it nowhere.

one thing i dont understand is they had to remove a tumor on the spine and if they didnt do it he wouldnt walk in a few days (weeks)

didnt that tumor look very small . I was expecting something the size of a fist or bigger
i thought that was a Clockwork Orange reference

i like this ep too but it wasn't as good as it was hyped up to be

Sawyer nickname bestowing spoiler below

i didn't even chuckle when Sawyer referred to Alex as 'sheena'

I really hope they just keep the energy going, like they did with this last episode. I hate the ones that have almost nothing in it and just kinda fester.

At least they finally got some story out of the way. Liked the episode and all but I don't like how Jack is getting so soft.

Agreed. Heroes destroys Lost, week in and week out. Give me Heroes, Smallville, and Supernatural any week. I find myself watching Lost out of habit, not out of desire anymore.

Wait, so if Ben is Alex's father, then wouldn't Russo have known who he was when she captured him (when he said he was Henry Gale)? Maybe I forgot something...
Heroes destroys Lost, .
Heroes is a great show

but imo it doesn't even approach the greatness of Lost

not even close

Rousseau knows a lot more than she's saying, that's for sure. Also we don't know the circumstances of how that union happened... so still lots of gaps to be filled. It does raise about a dozen new questions though...

I'm pretty sure you don't need to spoiler that anymore. I mean there's a spoiler tag on the thread title and it happened last season so if someone has it spoilered for them, its their own fault.

At any rate, if you go back and watch the scene there is a bit of "oddness" to it. Kind of like Rousseau knows more than she's letting on about him or something. I mean she does seem to instantly know that he's dangerous and that he's one of the others prior to him even saying anything.

I hope that's the explanation anyway and not just that the writers fucked up.

agree

she defnitely tried to warn them that he was the 'big guy' on the other side of the island

i would still keep that spoilered though

as soon as you put that kind of info out there, someone will cry foul. :)

i haven't watched the show yet so i can't comment on if it was good or not, but the numbers at 10pm were far from great

Lost returned with a 9.8 rating/15 share in the overnights, which ranked second in the 10 p.m. hour behind CBS' CSI: NY (10.0/15). Although Lost should have no trouble winning the hour among adults 18-49 once the fast nationals are posted, here are observations -- positive and negative -- to make note of:

1) Leading out of Dancing With the Stars, Lost averaged a heftier 11.5/17 in the overnights this fall in the Wednesday 9 p.m. hour..
2) Lost last night led out of a retrospective special, The Lost Survivor Guide, which scored a third-place 6.7/10 at 9 p.m. Next Wednesday, Lost airs out of the regularly scheduled, and barely seen, In Case of Emergency.
3) Lost increased from the debut of former regularly scheduled occupant The Nine (9.1/15 on Oct. 4, 2006) by only 8 percent in the overnights.
4) The year ago occupant, Invasion, rated considerably lower, however, at a 6.4/10 in the overnights (out of a 12.1/17 for Lost).

http://www.tvtracker.com/daily_ratings.php?PHPSESSID=7a9ab98a10e3feb205c5966a9cb758f7

and the nine isn't being aired anymore, and no reports of a come back date

I heart your posts

And I've gotta say, Heroes is getting continuously more awesome to the point that I'm kinda losing interest in Lost. It's lost a certain charm and mystery to it.
Heroes is better.
Lost season 1 is better then heroes season 1.

remember lost is in its 3rd season so any new show might be better then a show in the 3rd season
Heroes is better.
I disagree, but respect your opinion.

I can't take anything away from Heroes... except the guy who plays Peter. I hate him. But the rest of the show rules so hard that it makes up for it.

How awesome was Takei? And Hiro's sister is way hot.

I'd give you that. Maybe. Lost season 1 was pretty damn good and much better than 2 and 3.

imo, lost season 1 was great, but I think the majority of the love I have for the first season is it did something that very few/if any show did on TV. Watching that first season again on dvd was tough, as I found it very boring the 2nd time watching it. That was just my opinion. I find it tough to rule out hereo's season 1 as not being as good considering how many more episodes we have left of hereo's untill it completes its first season. They could really fuck it up on hereo's or they could knock it out of the park. As for the 3rd season crap, I call BS. If a show is great, it still can be great in its 3rd season. 24, The shield, rescue me are a few of the recent tv shows that I watch that have excellent 3rd seasons. The office is also in its 3rd season (granted the first was only 6 episodes) and scrubs is past season 3. Lost started to go downhill in season 2. It is far from being a horrible show, but they have a lot of writting to set the ship straight.

Also the comments about the writters not knowing what they are doing and trying to end it as soon as possible is blown way out of proportion. Writting a series like they are, I would imagine it would be nice for them to know if it is going to be 5, 7,8 year commitment. Take a look at some shows that had the plug pulled on them (deadwood/oc) and they didn't have time to wrap up the story lines they created. Most tv journalists haven't made comments about them wanting to get out of working on lost, and most seem to think it is fair for them to want to know how many seasons are they writting for to wrap up the story.

as for lost news, micheal, aka harriold Perrineau, has signed on to co star in a tv show about exorcism. He said that show will be his priority, and it seem less likely he will be returning to lost anytime soon.
Take a look at some shows that had the plug pulled on them (deadwood/oc) and they didn't have time to wrap up the story lines they created.
What?!!! Deadwood is done?! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Whats your source of info on that?

it was all over the news last summer. The writter of the show had created another show for hbo. Hbo told him to chose 1 show he wanted work on, and he decided to go with the new one. HBO was a little shocked, and the deadwood fans I would assume flooded them with letters about deadwood. HBO and the writter worked out a deal to wrap up the series by producing 2 (either 2 or 4 hour) shows. Right as the last season was playing on hbo, all the actors/actresses of the show were allowed to get other jobs.

Here is a recent story about it. This article is blaming it on HBO, but according to tvguide and tvtracker when it happened, that it was the writter who had no interest to continue to work on the show.

Sorry for the double post but here's audio from the brainwashing scene played backwards:

I actually really enjoyed this episode, as it helped really make Desmond a sympathetic and pretty awesome character. It definitely made me love Desmond so much more. Plus we "supposedly" are getting answers next week.

I liked tonights episode, I agree that it made Desmond a much better character.

And nice find on that audio Maklershad, that shit is weird as hell.

I really enjoyed that episode. Two weeks in a row they've done a good job of turning the show around to a certain extent and if they manage to make good on their promise to explain those 3 big mysteries next week they'll definetly have me back on board.

That was one of the best episodes of the show, ever. It was a complete change of pace, but it was ridiculously compelling. I may be biased because (1) I am greatly interested in the concepts and principles of time travel and (2) the episode literally just finished, whereas I have been able to view the other episodes of the series multiple times, but the whole thing was just enthralling. Wow. What a fucking rush.

Still the best TV series EVER.

What the crap are the three mysteries? Hey, and was that one chick in the clip from next weeks episode the same ring lady Desmond was talking too? They looked identical. It could also be i've been at school and work for a combined 14 hours and i'm just out of it. Either way Lost is turning it around this set of episodes!!! *excited*

1 hr is just too short. I sometimes get the idea to wait for the season to end and then watch the whole damn thing at once on dvd! They better answer question, but how many times have they promised this...?

LMAO - did anyone catch the quick cut to hurley "dudes!" when dez and charlie were fighting. That was great, all trashed like.

They did look similar, but I think they were different...plz don't bring in another key character!

wait so in this episode the whole thing was a dream?!?!

omg, who does Desmond think he is??

Super Mario 2??

I think NOT!

I think we're forgetting another key revelation from tonight's episode
Charlie's gonna die! YAY!

Ok, I do feel a little bad for him to know he's gonna do like that but he's annoyed the fuck out of me to the point that I don't care if he's gone and actually look forward to it. Now, if only he could figure out a way to take Hurley with him...

Yeah, they are going to kill him off and never let clair know who took her baby and how fucked up charlie is (another way for writers to take the easy way out)...I don't understand why they would kil him off though, hes a key charater...pretty soon the show is going to have jack, kate, sawyer and more new random charaters...that bugs me.

Charlie? Main Character? Hell no. Hurley is more of a main character than he is. Hell, I thought Ecco was more deep than Charlie.

I bet they wont kill off Charlie though.

*predicts Desmond will sacrifice his own life to save Charlie. The universe balances out then*

I figured that
the reason Charlie would be killed off would be so that Dominic Monaghan could go back to making movies rather than filiming the show in Hawaii.

i think that lady was one of the people they took when they first crashed.

at least we now know how the story will end. (see the skeltons in the cave in season one and you will know what i mean)

LOL time travel what will they think of next

No.

She was the flight attendant who was captured when the tail section survivors made their way to the other side of the island.

The brainwashing audio says "Only fools are enslaved by time and space" when you listen to it backwards. That could have some implications when you think about last night's episode....

I thought I had read it somewhere, but wasn't sure...

In my Philosophy and Science Fiction class we've been talking alot about time travel. This episode made me think about it even more, and I realize how awesome that class is.

Maybe I just have a really bad memory, but what specifically about them? I remember them having some kind of stones or something, I forget.
