I sold my Madden on eBay about a month ago for $24.00 and took that money and put it towards madden (Amazon) Im ready! haha

I also have my XBL gold membership just sitting here and Im waiting to activate it until we start the league.

I cant believe that its still over 2 months away.

My copy of madden was beat to hell and I took care of it too. The inner ring was almost completely cracked. Surprised I even got $20 out of it.

I don't know if I'll be back. I'm not sure that I can take playing the exact same game with an absolutely barebones franchise 3 years in a row. NCAA '09 had a significantly better online dynasty mode than Madden '12 will have, and has only improved since then.

Yeah, fuck that. That said, I think if we committed to really using the XFN site (assuming it still exists) to its full potential, we might be able to make up the difference. I certainly appreciated what it brought last year, especially in terms of picking up the slack for the in-game franchise in terms of stat tracking.

That sucks...but I don't think it's enough to deter me from still picking up Madden '12...at least DIRECTLY. If that causes enough of you guys to hold off from buying it to the point where we won't have enough people to get a league going...THEN I might not get it.
 
of course they are going to push the ultimate team on people harder and harder to try and get more micro-transactions

online leagues are probably last on the lists on things they will every build upon in madden, very sad news indeed

THIS. fuck Ultimate Team. In all honesty, it's a novel concept but forcing the purchase of a million mediocre player cards just to get one half decent one is milking it wayyyy too far for my tastes.

When it comes to updating the online franchises/online leagues, I'm sure they are just looking for a way to implement how we'd have to pay for a subscription to play or some way to get more money out of us.

I'm highly tempted to pass on Madden '12 now.

I've been playing Backbreaker: Vengeance to sooth my football woes, and while it's obviously not Madden, it's wicked fun.
 
I'm starting to think that I should pass on Madden 12 as well. It doesn't sound like it's going to be any different than last year and if there is no NFL season I won't really be tempted to play as much. I'll probably end up just getting NCAA 12 and playing that instead. I'm tired of EA Sports releasing the same game and then charging us more for it each year (online pass, etc.).

With how well they're doing with the FIFA Ultimate Team, I'm not surprised they're pushing the Madden Ultimate Team even more. Just sucks they didn't bother to touch the online franchise at all.

It definitely sucks, but you've got to figure the number of people who actually take the time to play in long-term online franchises is comparatively low. Meanwhile Ultimate Team was fairly popular last year AND most importantly is a continuous revenue stream for them, so it's only natural they'd spend their time on that.

We were probably naive to ever think they'd fix the online franchise (despite the fact that they've been saying for years that they will).

That said... I'm sure the online franchise won't be any worse than it was last year. And as I recall we had a mighty good time with it for a while despite its shortcomings, did we not? :D

Anyone pick up NCAA 12 yet and have any opinions on the new "collision system"? I'm picking it up sometime today and hope the zone coverage and tumbleweed tackling are fixed. Also who is planning on doing dynasty?
 
After watching more videos, I think the new system looks great.

I will probably end up getting it even though they didn't change the online franchise. Madden 11 along with 2k11 was the only thing I religiously played last year. If you remember, we had a lot of fun with it with this franchise once it got off the ground and it was something I looked forward to after a long day of school.

So put my name in the hat. With the $20 Amazon Giftcard, it just makes it easier to upgrade.

BV will also be happy to know that with this new system, my Jacoby Ford kickoff return will be impossible to do. :D

Hope to see most if not all of you back as well. Trust me, once we start seeing some televised games, the Madden 12 itch will be there to scratch.
 
I'm getting Madden 12 also. The $20 credit was the deciding factor.

Edit: If the lockout doesn't end then I'm canceling my preorder.

When are u guys deciding which game to play or if u choose madden 12 how do u choose the picking order.... I wanna make sure I get in before other people take a team and make moves
 
I assume the season will be official by the end of the week by the way things are shaking up. And then this won't be an issue. I can't imagine us getting a successful Madden 11 season going (at least not AS successful as we had it going last year).

I believe the release date is mid/end of August, so we will likely sort out teams beginning of August if not earlier when the NFL season is official.

SO, who's up for some NCAA12 this weekend? I've been having some tough luck with opponents quitting the game and it's starting to turn me off to it.

I'd love to play. It seems like if you get up by 14 the other person will always quit, no matter how much time is left in the game.

I'm having fun with the CPU on Heisman. Seems like they tinkered with the settings this year.

And to Doom, I've been playing ranked and to be honest I really haven't had much of an issue with non-punters aside from one. My problem has been people quitting within the 1st Q. Seems like interceptions are twice as easy then it was with madden 11 :).
 
I juat ordered ncaa12 so I may hit somw of you guys up for a game. Means I am passing on Madden 12 maybe ill get back to cag league madden for Madden 13.
 
We are definitely doing a league unless there's a lockout. So 90% certain. Will be preordering myself once the players vote this through.
