Madden 11 League-OFFICIAL CAG LEAGUE-That's all folks! Mini-tourney still coming tho!

Colts and Buccaneers have come to terms on a trade that sends S Bob Sanders (89 OVR) and a 6th round pick to Tampa Bay for S Tanard Jackson (88 OVR) and LB Dekoda Watson (64 OVR).

Buccaneers and Cardinals have been in trade discussions and are proposing a trade to the league that will see Arizona receiving CB Aqib Talib (87 OVR) in exchange for WR Steve Breaston (80 OVR) and CB Gregory Toler (75 OVR).
anyone want to get a quick game in? ill wait around for about 20 minutes and see if anyone is interested.
Sure, I'm down. I'll get on now.

i havent seen any real discussion about my trade but i know things get lost in the thread so for anyone who isn't aware:

LB T. Suggs (90), S D. Landry (82) go to the Skins and S L. Landry (87), and WR D. Thomas (74) are headed to Baltimore

I guess I was a bit too hasty in praising the game as being better than last year's. I just played a horrible game with pitfallharry.

Yes, I'm complaining, and I'm justified in complaining about the game. Sorry to those who might roll their eyes and dismiss this post given who is writing it. I need to vent, since nothing can be done about the situation.

Pitfallharry wasn't the problem at all. He played well and exhibited sportsmanship. However, while I lost the game by 15 points, it should have been a tie game and gone into overtime. That 15 point differential was pretty much all due to the game AI.

(7 points) The Vikings got a touchdown on a fumbled punt return. I had pressed Y, and my return man waved his hand in the air. BAM- hit stick. I though, "Great, a penalty. Better field position for me." But no; it was incorrectly ruled a fumble and led to 7 points. I also lost a timeout on the failed challenge.

(2 points) The kick meter froze, causing me to miss an easy extra point. I had to go for 2 next time because of that, and I failed. That's 2 points I should have had guaranteed, between 2 extra points. i got nothing.

(3 points) I had to try an onside kick after the fair catch call was ignored and turned into a TD. A Packers player touched the ball too early, resulting in a penalty. That led to the Vikings getting excellent field position that resulted in an easy field goal.

(3 points) I pressed the button to throw to the back heading out on a screen route. He was wide open. Instead, the ball was thrown over the middle of the field, resulting in a user pick. Vikings got a field goal out of that.

So it should have been a pretty good game, but it wasn't, thanks to the AI and kick meter lag. I think Harry even felt like I got screwed over to a degree, since he kicked his last field goal without letting as much time run down as he could have, which gave me more time to attempt another score.

It's pretty frustrating since a win would have kept me in first place, while this loss puts me in a tie for last with Detroit. That's not to say I would have won the game had those things not happened, but it would have been tied and I would have had a 50/50 shot. Argh.

Vikings 41, Packers 26

EDIT: Oh, and to add injury to insult- 1 game after losing my starting TE, Jermichael Finley, for 8 weeks, his backup- Donald Lee- dislocated his elbow and is out for 3 weeks.

Seahawks are up. Fins, Texans, Jags up next.

And just two games left. Chiefs/Jags and Broncos/Raiders. I think the Broncos/Raiders are playing at 8 or 9pm EST tomorrow, so expect to advance at 9 or 10. Chiefs/Jags I haven't heard from either. So they will be simmed once the Broncos/Raiders are played if they don't show up by then.

I think this trade is a little lop-sided in favor of the Skins and based purely on perceived fairness I will have to disagree.

ugh... i got a bye in week 8... not too happy about that seeing as how i i just acquired another hitter for my D... anxious to test him out wit Ed Reed :)

I agree. Baltimore gets slightly better at safety and adds a receiver that wouldn't even be top 3 on the depth chart, in exchange for one of the best linebackers in the game? Doesn't make much sense to me.

I agree with this.
I saw your kick returner waving his hand, and I knew it was a bullshit call.
Good to know I wasn't hallucinating. Like I said, you played a good game, and you would have had just as good a chance as I did at winning... but those things took away any shot I had at victory.

Well, at least everyone still has a shot at taking the NFC North, so we're all in it for now.

Everyone who didn't pick up their selected free agent yet, I added them to your roster. I don't think I dropped anyone important, but as always check your depth charts to make sure your new player isn't buried and make sure I didn't drop anyone important.

Seahawks selected RE Dewayne White. Fins are getting me his pick shortly. Texans gave me a list. And if the Steelers give me one too I'm going to auto select for the Jags because he hasn't responded to my PMs in a day or two.

So Steelers, consider yourself almost on the clock.

i understand where yall are coming from... on paper, it doesnt look like a fair deal. Three things that factored into the deal: #1, Mason is old and slow and he's gone after this season most likely... so Thomas is an investment in the future. thats one draft pick that i can use for something else now. #2. Speed at safety is paramount for my defense to be routinely effective. Also, i'm getting a lil younger at safety. i can move Landry to FS if i cant get one to fill Reed's void when he retires in a couple seasons. Giving up D. Landry helps me keep my roster at 53. #3. Suggs has not played like a 90 for me and D. Landry is severely overrated.

Originally, i offered Clayton but he's hurt for 2 weeks. There were few players left that would balance out the trade that were actually available to be traded and i'm not really into trading picks.

I don't think it's so lopsided that it's worth over-turning. Obviously Deuce is fine with it and feels like he has improved his team, I know he places a premium on the safety position having played him.

The Redskins are just about out of receivers though, haha.

Fins select Daniel Bullocks, FS. Texans take Robert You, QB.

Jags are on the clock until the Steelers PM me his top 2 choices. Then they will be auto picked. Then it's me! (yay). Followed by the Niners, Saints, Raiders and finally the Giants. I would love to get this done before we advance tomorrow, so if you have yet to pick yet please feel free to PM me your top 3-5 choices. Make sure you check the OP so you can see who is taken, but most players should've been added to their respective teams by now.

Jags auto select Leonard Little, LE. Logic: He's rated 7 points higher than his starter. Weakest starter it seemed.

Steelers take Aaron Schobel, ROLB. (Dammit, was really hoping he was going to fall to me. He was going to be my Pace replacement). Mulling over my pick now...

edit: So after much deliberation the Jets are going to welcome back DT Dewayne Robertson. He'll start immediately in 2 DT sets and will be Jenkins insurance.

Niners are on the clock.

I haven't seen any discussion on this either. Thoughts? Comments?

Haha, I was going to pick Schobel but in a game that seems to be all about pass-pass-pass, being a former DE he can't cover for the life of him. Plus there's a chance that Madden would force him to retire at the end of the season (since he did in real life), so I went with a middle-of-the-road OL.

The Ravens/Skins trade is pretty close to be sent back to the drawing board, but I'd like to hear some more opinions still. I don't know how I feel about rejecting it. It seems like both teams know what they are doing. Please feel free to weigh in if you didn't yet. And I'll yay or nay it tomorrow before we advance. The trade is: LB T. Suggs (90), S D. Landry (82) go to the Skins and S L. Landry (87), and WR D. Thomas (74) are headed to Baltimore.

As for the other trade out there now: Colts and Buccaneers have come to terms on a trade that sends S Bob Sanders (89 OVR) and a 6th round pick to Tampa Bay for S Tanard Jackson (88 OVR) and LB Dekoda Watson (64 OVR).

I would say I have no issue with this. Not sure what the point of it is though. :D Seems like a pretty even swap at the some position. Did Bob Sanders piss off Manning in training camp? Also do we even draft into the 6th round? I thought it was only 4, but someone should refresh my memory.

Yeah I don't really see the point in the colts trade, but I have no problem with it.
Also deuce justified his trade and I don't think he'd trade away players to hurt his team, so that trade is fine with me also.

bottom line for the Ravens/Redskins trade...i'm getting younger and faster to prepare for next season.

I needed speed and playmaking ability in my secondary and the younger Landry should do nicely... Thomas is an investment in the Ravens' offensive future. With Boldin, Clayton and Heap around him, he'll be a viable threat next season. For this season, he's another check down for Flacco when he's under pressure.

I would prefer not to have to renegotiate this deal cuz it took a lil while but seeing as how i have a bye week comin, i guess if it's rejected, i got somethin to do for a few days :)

I thought drafts were 7 rounds? lol

As for the safety swap: Tanard Jackson is one of my favorite players, and he's younger then Bob Sanders. The Colts are pretty thin at LB (hell, my ONE backup LOLB is rated 46 OVR) .. and Dekoda Watson is a young LB I'd be looking to groom as a starter next year or the following year (presuming we make it to Season 3).

Well, you won me over. We did discuss this a ton already, more than any other trade, I will put it through tomorrow officially but the Ravens/Skin trade is good to go now.

In real NFL news: REVIS IS SIGNING A NEW DEAL TOMORROW. \\:D/
:bouncy::bouncy::bouncy::bouncy::bouncy:

haha, too much? I've been saying all off season that I couldn't imagine it not happening, but damn is it a relief for it to finally be official. It would've been nice to get him in a preseason game, but at least he gets a week at practice before he shuts down Boldin next Monday Night. :D

much love, uber:) i'll see you in week 14!

This is not the kind of streak I wanted to be on leading into my game with a tough opponent such as ubernes. But anyway, ubernes, when can you play? You know my general availability, but Tuesday will not work for me due to the release of NHL 11 and CAG team play. I could play Wednesday evening.

I didn't see any comment on this trade so I'm bringing it up for approval so it doesn't get lost.

I don't see any problem with this trade Arizona is giving alot but Talib is a monster, lol.
I didn't see any comment on this trade so I'm bringing it up for approval so it doesn't get lost.
My only comment is that I wish I'd thought of trading for Talib. :D

The trade is fair.

No problem with the Cards/Bucs trade here.

I believe the only 3 trades out now are the Bob Sanders, Suggs and now this one. I'll put them all through this afternoon.
My only comment is that I wish I'd thought of trading for Talib. :D

I know right when I saw this I was Like damm, I shoulda tried to get Talib lol

The following trades have been put through and are now listed in the OP:

Ravens (3/1) trade Suggs and D.Landry to the Redskins (1/0) for L.Landry and D.Thomas
Colts (3/1) trade Bob Sanders and a 6h round pick to the Bucs (3/2) for Tanard Jackson and Dekoda Watson.
Cardinals (3/2) trade Steve Breaston and Gregory Toler to the Bucs for Aqib Talib (3/2)

The first number is the number of trades you're allowed to do during the course of a season. The second is the number of 'core players' you can trade from your team in one season. Each team has 4 trades per season and is allowed to trade 3 'core players'. Core players is loosely defined as an 80s-90s rated player that can't easily be replaced on your team by someone already on your roster.

So for an example, Tanard Jackson on your team would be considered a core player, so after doing a trade including him you're at 3/2. 3 trades left, 2 core players can be involved in those trades. Make sense?

Oh and to further explain. The Ravens for example traded Suggs, who is considered a superstar, a core player rated 90 or above. So that counts as 2 core players so that's why he's at 3/1. Essentially we want people to trade, but we don't want everyone to be gutting their team of their cornerstone players.
where is the list of free agents already picked ?
First post in the thread. Top of post.

Also in game everyone should be picked up, so you can go off that list.
