Madden 13 Official CAG League - On Hiatus. See you in August for Madden 25!
Simulated IR for injured players in the final year of their contracts, that does make sense.
Yeah. I believe the game does have an actual IR, so anyone who's injured in the normal course of the season should just be able to be put on that.

I'm going to look through all the rosters tonight to see how many other players it would affect (if any).

Time for the post that gets 20 people pissed at me.. Predicting Season 1!

The first season is tricky since we know almost nothing about any of the new guys. So some of them could definitely be very competitive, it's just too soon to say. Plus, it's very possible that some people who were really good at last year's game might not be as good this season. As always, this isn't meant as a slight to anyone, just my opinions which are mostly based on past years.

AFC North: Ravens (mog) - Former champ now playing with his favorite team. Tough not to like his chances.
AFC South: Texans (Doom) - Because duh.
AFC East: Bills (Ramesu) - Toughest call in the AFC, this division could be brutal this year.
AFC West: Broncos (bv) - I hate picking myself, and I'm far from supremely confident, but I did win my division 5 times last year.
Wild Cards: Bengals (bseti), Jets (uber) - Uber saying he sucks almost scared me off, but then I remembered he says that every year. bseti could definitely push mog for the division.

NFC North: Lions (sprice) - Three time defending champ, pretty much says it all
NFC South: Panthers (MA) - Biggest wild card here because there are two somewhat unknown guys in the division. Hard to pick against MA's track record though.
NFC East: Eagles (LV) - This might just be nepotism. :D
NFC Wes: 49ers (Cru) - Cru should remain a solid favorite, though I could see GP pushing him once he builds that roster up.
Wild Cards: Bears (Zurezo), Redskins (man2008) - Zurezo is moving to a new team, but he should find his footing. I was torn between like 6 guys for the last spot, but I seem to remember man2008 is pretty decent so I went with the Skins.

Everyone feel free to make their own picks so I'm not the only asshole. ;)
Booo! *throws shit at The Beev*
Just gives you more fuel to make me look like an idiot. :D

Your division is brutal though, I think it might be this year's Division of Doom.

So I'm curious what everyone's philosophy on player development is, particularly when it comes to their young stars. Do you guys plan to save up the 50,000XP to get the player development package, or do you think it's better to just spend it normally? I guess whether you'd get your money's worth doing it that way would depend on the number of seasons we play.

I'm torn myself, though I'll probably do that for at least one guy just to see whether its worth it.

Otherwise, my primary XP dump is probably going to be in improving injury ratings for fragile guys.

I just wish team goals weren't jacked up, I'm not going to throw for 350 in a game or probably not even throw for 3 tds in a game.
my prediction: at least one team will fall to the Jags
I'd agree. I don't think we've ever had someone go 0-16 who wasn't *ahem* trying to.
I just wish team goals weren't jacked up, I'm not going to throw for 350 in a game or probably not even throw for 3 tds in a game.
I wish that too, though the team goals do only affect your coach XP. Which is still important, but at least it's a separate pool than players. I'm hoping that the schemes will eventually evolve to adapt to what you actually do. That's how it should work, but who knows.

I say it every bad quarter I have. :D I actually almost, kind of made a comeback down 28+, but MA put me away for good. Fero might have this tacked up in his locker room though, so I may pick him if I throw my predictions together to even things out.

Good to see the two teams who put a beating on me this preseason are predicted playoff teams.

Any thoughts on how to do subs this year? It definitely sucks that you have to retire your coach in order to temporarily leave the league, seems like a major design flaw.

Auto-Pilot is the sub, imo.

Is there anyway to increase the difficulty to All-Madden when someone is playing against the cpu auto-pilot. Just so missing a game won't mean an automatic loss.
Auto-Pilot is the sub, imo.
That's how I feel about it too. I think most people would rather just give their opponent a free win than have to retire their coach. Just have to make sure nobody is missing games left and right.
Auto-Pilot is the sub, imo.
Yeah, that's probably what it will end up being, which is unfortunate.

A bigger problem even than losing your coach is that nobody else is going to want to lose theirs in order to sub for you.

The only alternative I could think of is this: Maybe we could come up with a subbing program with the other league. If you've got to be away for a few weeks, it's up to you whether it's worth it to lose your progress with your coach or to take what will basically be an auto-loss in most cases. If you do want a sub, someone from the other league who's not in this one would fill in for you. We'd in turn provide the same service for them. That way at least when someone does want a sub, no one else in this league has to lose their coach to fill in.

I think I'd usually just take the loss, but it's annoying how insanely horrible a design decision that was.

Not without affecting any other games being played while the setting is changed.

Texans Over Saints 52-10.

Foster 11 att 133 yds 2 TDs
Tate 10 att 114 yds 1 TD
Forsett 9 att 45 2 TDs

Decent backfield production this preseason.
Not without affecting any other games being played while the setting is changed.
We can't have the available player provide his best time, let everyone on the thread know not to play during that 1 hour, and then switch it back?

Just throwing ideas out.

Actually beating the CPU All-Madden isn't the hardest task either. So it won't solve too much anyway.
Auto-Pilot is the sub, imo.
The only real alternative to this... because I don't think I'd want a sub and lose my coach progress even if it was an important game. Maybe if it was Week 2 or something but after that... no way. So yeah, my only alternative would be to pass along your XBL info to a member in the league you trust. This would be used probably only in emergencies, but it's an option. People who have to miss games this year are probably just going to have to take the auto L.

Can you do that? For some reason I thought it was tied to your console in some way, though I've never tried it. That would certainly be a viable solution to those who would be comfortable doing it.

You know, I don't know if I've done it recently with the newer version of XBL but I've definitely signed in on my brother's xbox when I'm back home and it just takes a little while to recover/download the profile. So I think it is possible. Though once someone downloads your profile it's no longer available on your xbox and you have to then recover/download it again. It takes some time, and people might not be comfortable doing it but like I said it could work for emergencies. I also think everyone knows someone in here pretty well. I wouldn't mind Darth or Pacer, or really Fero or you, taking it over for a game if it was absolutely necessary.

Ah, that sounds like something of an ordeal, though I guess it's up to the person. It's certainly an option.
It's not tied to your console, Cru has logged in from my house and I've logged in from his before.
Thanks for the info. That's definitely something people can do then. I'll probably take that option when I need a sub (which I definitely will the first week in November).

Hey BV, I haven't heard anything back from BSETI. I PM'ed him, e-mailed him (which is supposed to go to his phone) and posted in the thread. I want to play my game before the deadline tonight. Is there any way that might be possible?

I texted him. I'll pm you if I hear anything.
sent thr trade to tanabo waiting for him to accept...
I will do it when I get home or is there a way to do it thur the site?

said I sent an offer to you sprice if you can check your trades and see if it went thur or if you have to accept it
we have to post trades for approval?
Ha, what you didn't believe me? I think it should all be mapped out in the rules.

I see it in the rules, I just don't understand why trades would need to be approved before hand, obviously I'm just basing this off of other leagues I'm in and I don't know the history of acceptance or declining of trades in this league so I don't want anyone to take offense..

if there's any obvious collusion between two teams I'm sure trades can then just be reversed and have those GMs removed appropriately... but if trades are one sided and one person makes out better than the other I find it silly that it can be vetoed solely for that reason which is what essentially what most trade committees end up doing(again based off past experiences)

I'll let the commishes answer this one.

But I think a lot of it has to do with just making sure all the trades are fair and balanced for both parties

There are 6 guys who vote on the trades, Cappa. Imagine, if you will, a sort of Jedi council, but much better looking, and with bigger light sabers.

Crap. GpNinja and I just had a crazy game going. 31-31 and when the coin toss portion of over time started it disconnected us and said "a desync has occured" :(

We agreed to let it be simmed.

Do I just click ready to advance?

Well I was losing like 34-0 at halftime and brought the game to OT and it said a dysnc had occured. 2 times the rams have fought back and won or brought the game to OT.
