lol so if u have a trade and are on the commity can u vote or is it just the 3 who arnt in it?
Can't vote if you're in the trade. So it's a committee of 3 for this one.
Alright who want's to do a four way trade?

Just make sure you figure out the mechanics of actually putting the trade through in-game before it gets too convoluted.

If I'm reading the order of moves correctly, has BV traded for and then got rid of two different backup QBs? Not sure why I find that interesting/amusing.
If I'm reading the order of moves correctly, has BV traded for and then got rid of two different backup QBs? Not sure why I find that interesting/amusing.
I will have had 5 different QBs on the roster in the span of a week (if you count Stanzi).

I still intend to go with Osweiler, but Sanchez won't kill me if I need to turn to him. Obviously taking on his contract is a big commitment, but I have the space to do it now and it allows me to add McCluster.

Meanwhile the Jets clear the cap space they need and the Chiefs get a competent QB. I'd say this is a win-win-win scenario. :D

Yeah, just so people know from the Jets perspective. I've already gotten bounce back on contract offers that I don't have the cap room for, so with Rivers coming in my plan has been to cut or dump Sanchez off in a deal. This does that for me, and brings in a decent backup QB as well as a draft pick.

Trade Announcement

Jets trade
Shonn Greene, RB (27 years old, 86 OVR)

Ravens trade
2013 2nd Round Pick
2013 4th Round Pick

I hope I'm not letting my hate of Greene, Sanchez and just about all the real life Jets that annoy me every week get the best of me. BUT, I hardly use Greene and wanted to open it up to a more RB committee with Powell/Knight. Greene is pretty affordable but I think this is a pretty solid haul for him.
Dear Trade Cap,

Please reinstitute yourself.
I went and took a look. If you applied the trade cap to the current season, one team would be over the cap (Raiders) with two more currently at the cap (Broncos and Falcons). There have also been fewer trades overall than there were in season 1 last year. With the trade deadline a week away, it certainly doesn't look like the lack of a cap has made too much of a difference in either the volume or impact of trades.

For the record, here are just a few of the players who were traded last year under the cap, just in season one:
Jonathan Stewart
Josh Freeman
Earl Thomas
Marshawn Lynch
Adrian Peterson
Julius Peppers
Anquan Boldin
Daryl Smith
Brian Waters
Asante Samuel
Miles Austin
Brandon Carr
Drew Brees
Tracy Porter
Patrick Peterson
Devin Hester
Leodis McKelvin

Again, that's just from season one. All with the cap in place. :D

:applause: Thanks for doing this, because I would just think it and never do the research to back it up.

I've definitely made more trades than usual this year, but only the Rivers deal would be considered anything major.

Facts.?....who uses facts....
But it made me feel better, lmao.
I'll be honest, I was surprised as well. Maybe we'll see an uptick in season 2, but thus far it really doesn't seem to have been an issue.

I actually already knew that i would be exactly at the trade cap from last year doom and i talked about in pms about 2 weeks ago i wasny shocked at all.
Just out of curiousity, how many teams reached the cap last year in season 1?
Unfortunately I wasn't keeping track in the trade log until season 2, but I just took a glance and it looks like 3 teams reached the cap in season 1:

Patriots (me)
Bucs (Tanabeo)
Ravens (MA)

No surprise on the first two, though I'd forgotten MA was so active in deals early on (trading away Rice and adding Peppers).

I meant I was surprised that there hasn't been more trading without the cap, not that a few of us had reached it (I knew I had as well).

Our first ever three-way all-trade-committee deal. Fun!

Chiefs get:
QB Brandon Weeden - 76 OVR, 650k 4 years left, 28 (lol) (from Broncos)
WR Greg Orton - 63 OVR, 390k 1 year left, 26 (from Broncos)

Jets get:
QB Ricky Stanzi - 67 OVR, 370k 3 years left, 25 (from Chiefs)
4th round pick (from Broncos)

Broncos get:
WR Dexter McCluster - 72 OVR, 820k 2 years left, 24 (from Chiefs)
QB Mark Sanchez - 80 OVR, 6.42 million 5 years left, 25 (from Jets)

Updated with contract info.

Figured i'd just edit this and post my trade block:

Vincent Jackson: WR, 29, 89 OVR, 55 million over 5 years
Doug Martin: RB, 23, 6.80M over 4 years
Michael Bennet: RE, 26, 2.74M over 1 year

I'd like a MLB, CB or speedy WR. im also willing to trade picks
what in the world do you plan on doing with that sanchez contract bv?
I've got the cap room to absorb him right now. If his contract ever becomes a problem, I can cut him without penalty since the Jets are still on the hook for the bonus. So it basically costs me a 4th to upgrade from Stanzi to Sanchez, if I ever need to cut him it shouldn't be too hard to find a Stanzi-level replacement.

i love how the real jets are in such denial about him, he is terrible n i love it. He does seem to play his best against the pats but still, his awfulness against everyone else outweighs that. If i was rex id cut the shit n lobby for his release cuz sanchez will cost him his job eventually if they dont get rid of him.

I agree that he's pretty average and they are more stuck with him given his contract versus in denial. What do you want Rex to say? "Yeah, Mark sucks. Let's see how these next 5 years go!"* He's been piss poor besides Game 1 and I think he played pretty well vs the Texans. But maybe I'm partly in denial...

*the contract, I believe, is 5 years but the team has some chances to opt out with minimal damage. I think the only thing that was really guaranteed was this year and maybe some money into next.

i know hes not gonna say that mark sucks, but lets just say he did, or he said something besides hes our guy, dont you think that would speed the process of getting his ass outta town up a lil bit? and yea he didnt play bad against houston, but he didnt play good. he just has not gottten any better over the course of his whole career. hes still a rookie.
Any idea why some of my players contracts say 2009, 2010, 2011 as the years left on their deals?
Do you have Benjamin Button on your team? If not, beats me.

He is what he is at this point. With a solid team around him like they had the first two years he was there, he's not so terrible that he'll single-handedly cost you a season. But on a lesser team like this one (especially after all the injuries), he's never going to that guy who takes the team on his back and brings them to the next level.

he just hasnt gotten any better, he looks like elway one week, then for the next month hes terrible. if he doesnt play well against indy this week, i think the end is very, very near
they should do whats best for the team, cut sanchez, trade tebow, and start mccelroy
not many teams wanna go through the tebow mania

I've got no clue about it, either.

Anyways, big stuff happening in the Meadowlands, possibly...
