DVO, did you read the rules yourself? Based on what you're saying, it really doesn't seem like you did.
There is nothing in them which says "if you go for it on 4th down in an iffy spot, you get a strike." The last word on 4th down is that you need to be able to defend the decision in the thread. He did to my satisfaction, and it seems that a good number of people who aren't you agree with that. Now, we have 2 other commissioners, both of whom probably have their own opinions on the matter. It was my judgement that what he did did not warrant a strike.
There is also no rule which says "you have to take a knee", but it is generally covered under not running up the score. That section literally says: "Repeated violations of the rule can earn you a strike." This is not a repeated violation, it's one violation. He's been warned, and he's said he won't do it again.
I'm going to put this as nicely as possible: You're not winning this battle, continuing to grouse about it and blame the "flawed rules" when really you're just upset that you lost is not going to do you much good.
If you think I'm handling this inappropriately, we have 2 other commissioners, feel free to bring it up with them.
