Alex the Allegator 4 is a pure jump'n'run, just like the old classic platform games. Guide Alex through the jungle in order to save his girlfriend Lola from evil humans who want to make a bag of her.

The game is not very big, but it holds a few surprises. It runs in a very low resolution with only four colors and will not provide you with any real time video or 3D effects. Nor will it snare you with a compelling storyline. It's only a platform game with a few tricks up it's sleeve. We're sure you'll like it.

The download includes a built in editor where you can create and play your own levels.

Megazell's Comment - The author has this game hosted on free lunch with a link to cnet download...you do not need to install the 'Free Lunch' Toolbar.

Telepaint

Action/Platformer
Single Player - Yes
Multiplayer - No

Theme:Science Fiction

Mark Foster of Clawhammer Games emailed IndieGames about his new Windows action puzzler Telepaint, where players use sets of portals to navigate the character to its goal. Since the paint character automatically moves, players must time when to activate the portal pairs to use the appropriate trajectory.

IndieGames previewed the dev's Limbo- and Fez-inspired Chroma in June. Telepaint is based off Chroma's source code, so it serves as a glimpse of what the larger Chroma will look like.

Telepaint's cleverness and Chroma's promise suggest Mark Foster is a dev worth following. That said, I'd offer two tweaks for Telepaint: a speed-up button for those longer, slow auto-walks and a timer or "moves counter" to push players to learn optimum paths. - IndieGames.com

Theme: Science Fiction

Year: Far in the future. Location: Yellow Fog Galaxy, somewhere on the bridge between Rhomul System and the peripheral rings of the Federation. The Sun slowly fade out under submission of a black hole that no one knew before. Executing your duties as an engineer in a crew that observes the temperature of the Sun, you (Apo Lanski) notice a small problem with the shuttle when you just started your night shift. Landing on a small planet called Zhena was a wise move, because your shuttle is an old 3rd generation machine…

From The Developer - I'll be honest. My game is influenced by Space Quest series of Sierra. I hope that you will not criticize me about this fact. Creating COSMOS QUEST is my way to turn back the time.

Thread Updated!

Lots of edits to pages 55-57. Updated game info, new links and updated system requirements.

I also removed a lot of games from the placeholder. Many of them were non-working links with no response from the devs that made them.

One game was replaced with some type of referral links that had some bad juju. Going forward I won't be using place holders anymore. No need to subject your guys to games that don't work the day I post them.

Removed a lot of F2P games also.

New games are:

OpenTyrian
Bounce!
Flight Of The Amazon Queen
Dráscula: The Vampire Strikes Back
Neverputt
Seven Kingdoms: Ancient Adversaries
Battlemass
TeenAgent

Enjoy the storm dodging!

Clonk

The original Clonk. Two players lead their Clonks into 30 predefined battles. Featuring castles, catapults, flintstones, rain, lightning and a monster.

Clonk 2 Debakel (German Only)

Clonk 2 wrapped the action gameplay of Clonk 1 with a hexmap strategy game for 2-4 players.

Clonk A.P.E

The Advanced Players Edition was released after Clonk 2 as an extended version of the original game. It was the first version to contain a player roster, scenario options, snow, loam, and wipf and zap creatures.

Clonk 3 Radikal

Clonk 3 surpassed its predecessors in terms of complexity and gameplay by a wide margin. Clonks could be controlled individually or in groups. They could swim, dive, dig in 7 directions and build bridges in 5 directions. Vertical scrolling enabled bigger levels that contained layers of rock, granite, gold, oil, water and acid. Natural disasters like earthquakes, volcanos and comets threatened the Clonks. Castles, lifts, windmills, pumps, watchtowers and oil-powered generators could be built with construction kits and interconnected with power lines and pipes. Available vehicles and heavy weapons included tippers, sailing boats, hot-air balloons, catapults and crossbows. Portable weapons and building materials included flintstones, incendiary bombs, arrows, concrete and steel bars. Sharks, wipfs, zaps and monsters inhabited the environment, which had a customizable climate including seasons, rain, snow, storms and lightning. Gameplay modes included learning missions, single-player/cooperative and melee/tournament. The player roster with player portraits, lots of statistics and the players' Clonk crew with their ranks and abilities was updated after every gaming session.

Clonk 4 Radikal

Clonk 4 was the first game in the Clonk series that took advantage of Windows 9x with DirectX and was offering high resolution graphics up to 1024x768, free scrolling in levels of unlimited size, up to four splitscreens and completely texturized landscape graphics. The game engine was extended to support freely movable objects with rotation, gravity and recoil, detailed and individual abilities of Clonks and other creatures. Many new buildings, vehicles and objects enriched the gameplay. A modular, extendable system allowed the creation of custom scenarios and objects.

Note: all scenarios and objects available on the Internet are compatible with Clonk Endeavour only and won't work with Clonk 4. Clonk 4 doesn't allow the creation of custom scenarios anymore.

Clonk Planet

Clonk Planet was the sequel to Clonk 4. Its new menu system for the first time provided access to all game elements through a single general view. Player files, scenarios, and object definitions could be conveniently organized by drag 'n' drop.

The main new feature of Clonk Planet was its networking capability. Any number of players on any number of computers could join in the same clonk realtime world. With a good connection, even internet games were possible. Clonk Planet also featured mouse control with completely redesigned game menus suitable for beginners and large strategic or economic scenarios.

Notice that use of the freeware code does not entitle to any support, upgrades, or access to our additional online offers.

Clonk Endeavour

Clonk Endeavour is the sequel to Clonk Planet and predecessor to the newer Clonk Rage in the series of 2D Clonk games.
Clonk Endeavour was the first Clonk game to use a 32 bit graphics system based on Direct3D and OpenGL for enhanced quality and lots of new visual effects.
The game was translated to nine different languages: German, English, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Finnish, Estonian, Hungarian. All language packs are included in the download.

OpenClonk

OpenClonk is a free multiplayer action game where you control clonks, small but witty and nimble humanoid beings. The game is mainly about mining, settling and fast-paced melees. OpenClonk is also not just a game but also a versatile 2D game engine that offers countless possibilities to make your own mods. OpenClonk is a project dedicated to the further development of the Clonk game series. Our goal is to improve and make the real strengths of Clonk more fun to play: Bustling mining, production lines and economy, fast and fiddly melees. Another focus lies on the further enchancement of the game engine and the extensibility/modability of the game content with C4Script which has always been one of the most important features of Clonk.

Celebrate 10 years of Battlefield with the game that started it all. The most intense WWII combat action ever to hit your pc is now free to play.

Megazell's Comment - I use to play the nonsense out of this demo but never went with the full game outside of LAN games here to there. Looks like Origin is starting to embrace the lure of free gaming. While this is not their first free game it is their first major step in the free gaming market.

Here's a game of my own, from June 2009, if you wanna add it. The art/music aren't so good (my weak points), but most people seem to enjoy the gameplay mechanics and level design. It's a challenging 2D platformer with RPG elements, 6 levels, and 3 bosses. Jump on enemies to defeat them; defeating an enemy gives you experience points which increases your HP and jump-attack damage; bonus power-ups are hidden in each stage. It's a spinoff of a 2D online browser-based monster-catching multiplayer RPG of mine (Seeds of Time Online, currently down because I need to switch hosts.. should be up again in some weeks).
Better put SWTOR on this list now!

http://www.swtor.com/free
I am going to investigate it first and see if it falls into the criteria for F2P games that I am posting on here.

The leveling experience from 1-50 is free. You can complete every character story without spending a single dime. That is a lot of free gaming :D A single story to complete to level 50 takes about a good 80 hours to complete.

What is Free-to-Play?

With the Free-to-Play option, no subscription will be required! You will be able to download and play Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ all the way up to level 50 for free, with gameplay restrictions that limit access to advanced features and group content. However, we will be offering the option to purchase services, items, and content to customize the gameplay experience. These purchases will be made available via the new Cartel Market and will allow you to choose the way that you want to enjoy the game.

Hi, my name’s Terry Cavanagh, and I’m an indie game developer. I started this blog in March 2012 to talk about the sort of freeware games that I find interesting, and to share those games with more people. Thank you for reading!

This sounds awesome and I highly recommend everyone to check this out and enjoy it!

For the sake of the list, it won't be added. I would like all of the games on here to be free to all with the only financial incentive to be donations to the dev(s).

Ty very much for the heads up and detailed info on it! :)

Hmm, I am starting to see a need for a sandbox label on many of the game coming and quite a few from the past. Where would it fall under in genres? Action or Simulation though?

Games like Epic Inventor, Minecraft Classic and Under The Garden...are what I thinking.
~snips~
if i could and it wasn't taken i'd get that crayon physic game :3
Also i think that the quality of sandbox games should be in their own genre. otherwise it is better to be simulation

PM sent with the codes for the games - Thanks to Wageslave for the codes!

Sandbox games are simulations or something else? I am crossed btw putting it in the action section or simulation section.

then just put it as its own category. For example crayola physics would be best put in a puzzle genre but then minecraft is more of the action genre
Edit: After looking through the Sections, i feel the best fit for the sandbox type should be in Simulation. seems more fitting.

Its an faithful platformer/platform shooter that merges characters and levels from many different gaming series into one awesome game. For example: Mario, Wario, Mega Man, Sonic, Ghouls n Ghost, Castlevania, Doom, Halo, Contra, R-Type, Zelda, Metal Slug etc. etc. etc…

From The Developer
0.3 takes forever to load because it was created with Game Maker 7, which wasn't very efficient. We moved to GM8 recently, now it only takes 2 minutes to load at most, it runs a little faster, we added like 35 stages, updates, fixed a ton of bugs, etc. It'll be released soon, stay tuned.

About more bugs, check our bug reports topics in our forums http://mkfusion.ipbfree.com, when 0.4 is released there will be new bugs probably, testers are always welcome.

So he's looking for an "action RPG".

Path of Exile is an upcoming F2P ARPG, with an open beta coming this December:

There's of course a lot of RPGs listed in the OP, but not all of them could be called ARPGs. It looks like Summoning Wars may qualify though.
