Modern Warfare 2 CAG Clan - Wednesday/Friday @ 7PST/10EST

If any of you guys want to do the handgun challenges, Hardcore is definitely the way to go. Get a nice small-ish map, run and gun. By far it's the fastest I've gotten 75 handgun kills in less than a day. Other than that it can turn into a camp fest but if you can wrap your mind around not getting shot, I think it's good training towards regular game play.
 
The first day trying a new killstreak combo and I was able to reach Chopper Gunner twice today. That's a "yay~" for me.
 
I've found the best results you'll get is by using your killstreaks to reach other killstreaks. If I'm doing good I'll run Predator, Harrier and Chopper Gunner, hit that usually once a match. Most other times I run Care Package, Predator and Harrier. Once you get above 5 kills your killstreaks start counting towards future killstreaks with the exception of Sentry Guns, I believe. That has been my experience anyway. I think the hardest part is getting from 11 to 25 for the nuke.
 
I'm trying to run with the Predator, Harrier and Chopper Gunner at the moment for no other reason than to see how high I can get my kill streak. I was able to get up to 18 from 16.

I'm pretty sure anything in an air drop with the exception of the SG does not gain you kills that count.

Actually, I was shocked at how (relatively) well we were doing at Hardcore HQ yesterday before that host botched. Compared to Wednesday's regular HQ pasting we took, we were kicking some *ss. Of course, it is all relative.

I still run out too often....I need to look around a bit more....

ive been using care package, predator into emergency care package.

i just love the suspense at what you're going to get.
 
I got two EADs in a match and ended up losing all of the packages to the opposing team and quickly stopped using it. Not a big fan of Care Package because the stuff dropped does not count towards your next killstreak. EAD is fine if it's the last one I get.
 
Great time gaming with Kefka and the clan. I couldn't hear anyone during the matches/lobby. Volume on mic was at the highest. I hope my mic isn't broken.
 
Man was that first match I was in a lag-fest for a while....so much so that I knew I was probably going to die when it resynced....seeing it come back up with a gun pointed right at you and yours is miles above their head....then we just couldn't get in a domination match.

While nowhere near the Kafka or Madder level.....getting better and able to grind out a couple of levels in the 1-2 hours I can play. Ninja pro does help..although I need to get downstairs and play in my room w/surround sound so I can hear the people creeping up on me. Playing upstairs and having to keep the volume low does have its drawbacks.

Melee is the R3 button, so you are probably pushing the stick too hard?

The private matches last night were fun and brutal. Knifing only was by far the most fun/most annoying, cause of the inherent lag. I do like how our smack talking was not over the top swearing, but more friendly jibbing each other. I will be on tonight again, do we want to talk/practice strategies for other game modes, because I am only familiar with TD, GW, FFA.

several of us are on everyday, just send a request like got room. Also, when playing remember to add people to friends list. I forgot to add the people I didn't have last night. Most I already had though.

what gun(s) are you using? I know I sucked until I got the SCAR assault rifle and am now loving the AUG HBAR light MG. Don't ask me why, but I'm more accurate with the AUG although the SCAR is supposedly more accurate. I'm also far better at range with the AUG.

Find a weapon you can be accurate with - try all of them....free for all works best for me in trying out weapons....just line up and shoot.

I still do this sometimes. I don't know why. It costs me at least a few kills each game.

I have shoot as R2 and melee as R3.... yet somehow my brain confuses them.
 
I've tried to stop looking at my (horrible) k/d ratio...Usually, as soon as I see someone and hit L1, I've already got a few bullets in me...I think I need to try SMG's...Can you hit someone from a 2nd floor and kill them with a SMG? I'm not much of a run 'n gunner...

What maps do you do the best on? Big open maps like wasteland and derail? Or smaller maps like sub base or highrise?

I'd help make recommendations but I need to know what playing style you are best with.

For example, with me, I tend to do my best in medium-close range situations. I flank the other team a lot and rely heavily on counter attacks to get my kills. So, I usually have marathon + lightweight + ninja as my perks (silent and speedy movement). Depending on the map (M16 for bigger maps and UMP for the smaller ones) I'll use an assault rifle or a SMG. Silenced weapons of course and usually a tac knife.

If aiming is a big problem for you there's no shame in being a noob toober. Wide spread and very effective for kills. Just know that you may make some people very angry and it will be their mission to kill you as many times as possible.

I know that's a problem with me. I can do very well with some guns and suck with the others. If you have a problem aiming, it might be because of the recoil on some guns.

The UMP 45 was my gun of choice when I first started and its a pretty good balance for a SMG between range and up close killability (did i just invent that word?). The irony is that SMGs are usually better for hip firing run'n'gun though. Whatever gun you use if you tap the trigger button you get single fire/more accurate shots. IF you wanna go long distance unlock the ACOG scope ASAP

You won't really get knife kills that way, but at least it won't be interrupting your firing that much.

If all other guns fail, just resort to the M16 with a grenade launcher & Stopping Power.

Sometimes I don't have all individual classes set out for similar classes, like the AKs where the only differences is scavenger & claymores... etc.

I also switch up the secondary for a pistol with a tactical knife if I want to screw around.

When I head over to my family's house, they have a 360, so I have it set to 360 controls.

Took me a few weeks, but I got used to it.

I bought two packs of those for 5 bucks. One of the best investments I have made with my ps3.
 
I believe FMJ only gives more bullet penetration so there's no real need for it. It would be better just to use extended mags on a Scar or go with Scavenger as a Perk 1.

About 1/3 or 1/4 away from my first Prestige. Yay~ I was able to bring my KPD up from 0.45 or so at the beginning to 1.15 at lv. 69. The game takes some getting used to. Controllers still have nothing on keyboard and mouse though.

Nice improvement...just got mine up to 1.19 with the help of some chopper gunners. i never had it set up in my kill streak rewards until last night. someday i'll get a nuke.
 
Close to second prestige, but my only concern is unlocking mastery of certain weapons. Does going prestige again (2-10) reset the amount of kills/headshots you had? I will hit lvl70 before I hit 2500 kills with SCAR for instance, and rinse repeat that is a shit ton of kills.

edit: tried to get on with CAG group last night but was full. Going to be on around 9:39 pm tonight until morning if the games are running good.

How many friends can you have, because I couldnt add some people from the list because they had too many requests or something.

The Clan nights are Wednesdays & Fridays.

The max for your list is 100 people. I've contacted Sony and there is no way to get it increased.

Looks like the person with the most points captured gets the nuke. Glad to see them do this, so that now the less advanced people can get the nuke challenges.

Another 2 weeks and kefka (NoKill4U) will be at 100,000 kills. Personally, I think he needs to put in a couple more hours a day so he can breakthe top 100 in kills!:drool:

I'd like to stoke my own ego (yes, I'm joking) and nominate myself for best team kill of the year in Favela....I think I took out everyone except Kefka....since he was spectating at the time - but probably would've been in on the carnage as well. Mind you, that is I took out everyone, except Kefka, on MY TEAM in CTF. It was a spectacular site to behold....I've not heard Kefka laugh that hard to date.

Here is the picture...we are up something like 10 or 11-1....I snag the flag and run around the side with the car. Madder and a couple of others are surrounding me. Easy capture....no one from the other team in site and 3 mates circling me. So, I run, jump, and land on the car on the side street....when I land on it, it blows up. Literally, I land on it and it blows up. Teammates are scattered along the street....the Stay Puft Marshmallow man is making fun of me, etc.....Kefka loses it laughing.

Even watching the deathcam, I am not sure what happened to cause that. I know I've done that jump before evading people and have not had it blow up before. I am fairly certain the car was not on fire since I did not see that on the deathcam....I can rule out me with a grenade since I didn't have any on the load I was playing or anything from the other team since it did say I killed myself. Strangest, yet most hilarious death I have witnessed.

Still doesn't make up for the dozen or so headshots from those campers in Skidrow last night though....but was a great laugh.

Guess that will teach everyone not to escort me....or at least not stay in close proximity to me. :D
