If your EB still has any new N-Gage QDs they should now ring up @ $19.99.
I don't know how much they were before, but this seemed like a pretty good deal.

Also, all new games are now $2.99.


Edit: The QD is $49.99 @ Gamestop.

Now that I have a system, does anyone have extra accessories? I'd at least like to get a case for the QD. If you've got one, I have a crapload of mint/sealed games for trade.

No, found it at Gamestop for $50, though it's brand new. None of the four or five EB's I called had them, most employees said they stopped carrying them "years" ago.

I am pretty sure that this is not the case. Sprint uses CDMA, though they do sell a phone or two that support GSM i.e. Samsung A790/795. Also all of the Sprint phones that I have seen, granted not all of them, but most of them, all have the sim card built into the phone, so you cannot easily remove it. I am sure there is a way that you could crack open the phone to get it, but don't think that it is worth it, and I am sure that Sprint would not like that idea. Verizon Wireless and US Cellular have the same kind of thing.
 
Just came back from EB. No new Ngages there. But after a couple laughs, the manager just gave me the store's demo unit. :D It doesnt come with a charger, so I'll have to ebay one. But no complaints here. Are all Nokia chargers the same so I can use my old one?

Oh I also picked up FIFA 2005 for 3 bucks. o_O

as for chargers, my old nokia charger works, BUT it takes a bit longer for it to charge since it supplies a bit less power than the official charger.

i know my eb still has a few games not listed on the site (a few eb's here do) so i'm gonna have to check to see if they still have them and if they dropped the price.

also, going to http://arena.n-gage.com/n-gage/web/en/play/downloads/downloads_games.jsp you can download demos to a mmc card (if you don't have one, get one!)

also, the full version of snakes is free at the above link, it's an update to the original snakes game that comes on almost all nokia phones...

You should be able to use your old Nokia charger, though it might take a little longer to charge depending on what type of charger it is. If it is a 7U it will take a bit longer than a 12U. The 12U is the type that comes packaged with the N-Gage.

I just called about 60 stores in the Bay Area and they're all sold out.

It doesn't help that some of the people recognized me (sucks that I work at EB, lol) and started laughing at me.

No QDs at my store. In fact, they've gotten rid of all their N-Gage stuff. Glad I got most of my games when they dropped to $6.99.

I did find an Atari Flashback 2 for $5 though.

I'd be totally shocked if anyone found ONE. I wish you luck, but I'd be shocked. That game came out months after GS and EB started clearing out their inventories. Games like Glimmerati and Rifts are pretty much the most recent games you'll find. ONE came out a good while after that.

my store still had a few games (doubt it now since this is now public) but i'm going to check tomorrow, they had 2 demo QD's and a bunch of games...
 
Just went to my local ebgames and gamestop, sadly my ebgames only had games, but gamestop had 1 more qd left and a bunch of games.

I ended up spending $45 on the N-gage qd and 9 games. Thanks OP!

Is there anything special you have to do to use the QD without service? I just upgraded to a camera phone, but would still like to use the QD wihtout having to swap SIM cards everytime. Any help is appreciated.

it "should" have come with a dummy sim that allows use without a cell plan. if it didn't, you can try to contact nokia for one.

The games rang up at $1.50. Tomb Raider, WWF, Tiger Woods, Pocket Kingdom, FIFA, Splinter Cell, Operation Shadow and Pathway to Glory. Not a bad haul. :)
 
If you live in Portland, OR - let me save you some time -

I called all the EB's in town and all were out, most said they don't sell it anymore. H/e, the Clackamas Town Center (not the 1 by Walmart) and the Washington Square stores said they had tons of new games at $2 to $3 each.

Also according to N-Gage's website, all Gamestop stores are selling the games at 50% off. I'll be calling the Gamestop stores next.

Lol yep, maybe the price changes just happened recently. I would go back and check the qd, since mine came up to $20 brand new at gamestop.

Thanks for the info. I bought it pre-owned and it did not come with one. I do have a non-activated SIM card (long story), will that work?

No idea... my receipt reads:

I'm assuming the 020251 is the item/ref number in the Gamestop computers. Maybe there's another number it's listed under..?
