I am pretty sure that this is not the case. Sprint uses CDMA, though they do sell a phone or two that support GSM i.e. Samsung A790/795. Also all of the Sprint phones that I have seen, granted not all of them, but most of them, all have the sim card built into the phone, so you cannot easily remove it. I am sure there is a way that you could crack open the phone to get it, but don't think that it is worth it, and I am sure that Sprint would not like that idea. Verizon Wireless and US Cellular have the same kind of thing.
