So I know that BestBuy still has the Zelda Switch Lite Hyrule Edition available.. September 26th release date.. but still no Amazon or Gamestop listing is wierd to me

Well, that's better thx.. I've got Amazon credit to burn through, so hopefully, they're next up
Amazon has been weird with Nintendo recently. You can't buy eShop codes anymore and the newer first party games released recently got their pre-orders cancelled or they never went up for pre-order. As of now I don't see Amazon directly selling any newly released first party Switch games it's just third party sellers fulfilled by them. Might want to figure something else out because I don't think amazon will put it up and if third parties do I'm sure they'll overprice it.

The New Denpa Men game is up, and it's free. I played all the previous games and really liked the series. Taking my Switch with me to work today to scan "radio waves." The game has a friend function, although I don't know what it does yet. If anyone wants to add me, here is my code for in the game.

I just realized that I had 427 gold coins expire in May. Keep track of your coins people.
Best way to approach it is to try to use up all the gold points once per year (when the first points start to expire). Then you can just set a reminder for once per year to use up all the accumulated points.

What I do is hold onto my physical purchases until it's getting close to the year being up before I redeem the gold coins... unless there's something I want digital at which point I'll redeem all of my gold coins and use whatever gold I gained from my last digital purchase. So far, I don't think I've lost any gold coins. Platinum? Sure, I don't even think about those.

What is the cutoff for gold coins from physical orders? I always forget the exact how many months after release they still give the gold coins.

I believe it's 12mo from release.

My personal method is to always redeem the very first time I enter a cart in my system. But I don't care enough about coins to break open a sealed copy. And also to always use up gold coins asap in my next eshop transaction. Life is complicated enough without trying to spreadsheet expiring 60 cent currency units.

Wow. Have you not bought anything for a long time, or did you just have it turned off and not notice? I have mine set to not use points towards purchases, but that's because I like to save up enough to cover the whole cost of a game. It doesn't charge you tax if your points cover the total. But I've never had more than a few dollars at a time.

Now my platinum coins keep getting chipped away each month due to how tedious it is to redeem them now...

I rarely buy Nintendo games digitally unless there is a big sale. I have no idea how I missed $4.27 being wasted. I'm sure Nintendo emailed me. Probably got buried or I was too busy with something to remember.

That's wild. It takes a full year for gold coins to expire. They don't send out warnings, but you do get a monthly (?) statement emailed to you that shows your balance. Do you only play Nintendo titles? There aren't any indie games you like? Pinball tables? There's plenty of great digital only stuff, especially during sales. I think I buy something just about every week 😆

I don't buy a lot digital either... but when that XC3 dlc pass thing went on sell I went all in. Opened whatever games I hadn't redeemed the gold for because in most cases I will play games. Also I buy games from gamefly used that are always opened anyway but they still seem to always come with gold coins in tact. So it's not always breaking a seal.

They just revealed that Mario Party Jamboree will come with a code for a 3 month NSO subscription, so it’s a bit like getting the game for $5 off.

Not bad, but still way more than I’d ever pay for any video game. But at least this means that the online lobbies will surely be fairly packed so that’s good. Definitely going to rent it from GameFly as soon as it comes out, love me some mindless mario party mayhem.

I find that I tend to use my points on Switch-exclusive games/DLC that rarely get discounted. Sometimes the stars align and that game on my wishlist goes on sale during the month when I need to cash out all my points but I am not always that lucky. Honestly, I have migrated my non-Nintendo first party purchases towards the SteamDeck since I can trust that platform to exist in the future along with my save data being freely stored in a cloud. The only exception would be if a game isn't on Steam (like Unicorn Overlord) yet.

It was a fail.

I liked it better when Nintendo was hungry and desperate and the online discounts on their video games were far more generous. Thirty cent Super Metroid? Free copies of Pikmin 3 and Star Fox 3D? Yes! Just take my barely any money!
I just wish they would have done a select line for Switch. Games 3+ years old should be brought down to $30 since that seems like the new $20 to Nintendo. 3DS and Wii U had them so why not Switch? I guess they see people will continue to pay release price for their games so they don't see the need to discount them permanently outside of sales 😞

The wiiu bombed but the switch didn't. But yeah it's a shame that they don't do Nintendo selects anymore. Though given their penchant for porting lately they'll just put the switch titles on their next one anyway. And possibly it will be bc so they would want to keep stuff as high as possible.

The Asian copy that Play Asia sells is better than the original American release. First, it does not have the ugly rating on the front cover, and the inside of the American is just blank, the Asian version has pixel art of all the characters in there. I am not sure if the reprint added that or not.

Asian version does not come with stickers though...

I understand that, but Microsoft should also be showing that they are committed to the Japanese market and the developers their too. Commit the resources to help grow your user base there not close it down. Help with the risk by covering the port cost or provide resources for testing.

If any generation of the Xbox had sold in Japan at least as well as the 3DO, maybe Japanese publishers would care about it. Oh, well.
