Picross games on sale I think all of them are 20% off. I always buy these and I don't have S9. They even have the newer logiart grimoire one at 20% off. These don't get many sales and usually the sales are minor so eat up!

I had no idea that many had come out already. I need 5 thru 9 😭

It's like the only one I haven't played. It's like 2x the price so I'm iffy.

But since wife finished S9 and i finished at least S9 mega, I might end up buying it anyway.

Guess I forgot to ask but anyone play the logiart grimoire picross one? it looks a bit interesting. I know it's on PC too.
I've been playing it on my Steam Deck. It's been very fun as somebody that thinks most of the regular Picross games on Switch are pretty easy and I dislike not having full control of how much assistance I want in the Picross games, so Logiart gives that much control to allow you to not have columns/rows gray out when they're filled out. It's a bit weird in terms of how you're unlocking puzzles with the various concepts you're choosing to merge based on the description, but that's a minor issue.

Bakeru Demo Impressions after beating 2 levels after about 45 minutes:

I think this being consider a Goemon successor is not 100% right other than this being a quirky action game.

This game has mini 3D levels with action where you have Taiko sticks and you push the L button to use the left one and then R button to use the right one. You can use both together for a stronger hit and you deal damage and keep going in combos by alternating hits. This is pretty cool and about the only thing I really liked about this one other than OK graphics and a Japanese style for characters and stuff you find in game (5 advice things that gives various information generally about Japanese folklore and such, and 3 tokens which are Japanese like collectibles). It feels very whimsical and I like the feeling, but that's pretty much where the positives end.

First of all while it only took me about 15-20 minutes per level I was already getting very bored because of the boring structure of stages. There is quite a few of them with more than 50 stages. This is quantity over quality with many repeated enemies and similar looking things. It just doesn't feel very fun to explore these stages at all. The graphics on the Switch itself have slowdown during heavy action scenes (not a lot) and has some slowdown during jumping and moving the camera. It doesn't feel very clean, and this is probably better on the PS4/5. It isn't unplayable at all, but just not 100% clean in execution. The music is extremely basic and also very, very grating. I was wanting to mute it, so that's not a great thing. The controls on the joycons were all right for the most part but it's really annoying having most of the action on L/R buttons as they're kind of small. I don't think it would be that comfortable on the PS4/5 controller either. I'm sure you can adjust the controls, but I was playing with default ones. Also the platforming itself is a bit floaty, but I didn't feel I had to do any crazy platforming with how the two levels were made. It was mainly a beat em up with platforming where you destroy evil laterns to unlock the shield around the end of the stage. The collectibles are also not that fun to find and mainly are in places around corners and sometimes an off the beaten path part of the stage. It has a very linear feeling for the stages.

I never want to give bad reviews/impressions for niche games, but I really didn't want to play that much more. I was feeling the tedium and I didn't really feel anything special either. Something like the Inazuma Eleven demo I tried I felt the atmosphere even with simpler graphics and all, but it felt neat. Here it's just whatever stages that drag on honestly with not the most impressive action. 6/10

Eh. I really like the demo. I haven't played the shooter stage or the robot stage, but I have played the two action stages and was happy enough with it. Reminds me of the Kirby game that everyone claimed was open world but really wasn't. Kirby and the Diminished Expectations, or something like that. The coziest darned post-apocalyptic video game ever.

Watching the trailer, I got some general The Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon N64 vibes from it because of all the different play styles featured. That's what got me with Goemon more than just the hack and slash bits... you could be pretty well surprised by what happened and how things changed. Not sure what the demo features as I haven't played it yet, but I'm curious if watching the trailer changes your mind in the slightest.

If it's Forgotten Kirby quality then it's probably not for me. I liked the Kirby demo slightly more than the one for Princess Peach's wardrobe changer, but that's not saying much as I didn't like it at all. Which to me it's strange games of this easiness, even are made. I liked it better when game designers targeted the whole market with these kinds of quirky games instead of just a tiny sub market.

All that said, I'm still going to give the demo a fair shake before writing it completely off.

I only played the Goemon SNES and the first N64 one so I haven't played one in ages, although I enjoyed the SNES one more than the N64 one. I did forget to mention the transform mechanic which helps you do things in stages, but it was barely used in the demo. Some people claimed this game as their game of the year, so it's different strokes for different folks. I enjoyed Kirby the Forgotten Land more in that demo than this demo (I've only played some of the main game). At least it's only $40 on release, but I'll wait till it's $10 or less likely. There are different play structures for levels, so that is very Goemon like. I was just growing tired of the gameplay for the 3D platforming levels at least just 2 levels in, with the high rise structure level just not being as well designed IMHO as the first island level you play.

Played the entire Bakeru demo this weekend. Put a solid hour into it.

Overall, I enjoyed it.

It has a lot of charm which I appreciate in games. The robot tranformation was pretty fantastic as was the dog head ship for the shmup level. The platforming was pretty good with enough secrets to uncover if you enjoy a good collectathon. Overall, I think if this were coming out as a physical for $30 (maybe even $40), I'd be down for a preorder. But digital only, I can wait to see if the physical jp version gets an english patch or theres a sale.

As for the goemon comparisons, I think it's pretty fair. This is very japanese, much like the Goemon games... and like The Mystical Ninja on N64, there is a lot of variety in play styles. I'm kind of shocked this is the same devs that did Prince Peach Showtime. Don't get me wrong, this isn't Goemon, but it's not far off of that.

Am I able to tell who is playing my switch games when I log on? For example, if I want to play Mario kart 8 deluxe, am I able to see if someone else is playing it? Do I have to have everyone text me before they play a game and ask me if they can play a game on my account?

I have put my account on four different people's switches so I'm just curious as to what happens now when they want to play or if I want to play not knowing if they are playing or if they forget to text me and ask me before playing. I know I would just kick one of us off but is there a way to know ahead of time if they are playing one of my games or not?

Also, can multiple people pay different games at the same time?? For instance, one friend wants to play Mario kart 8 and the other one wants to play Mario Wonder. Is that possible?

That sounds like a recipe for unfun. Main Switch can play digital games with any of the sub users on it. As long as a sub user is playing the digital game on the main Switch, then a game can be played on another Switch. If the main account that bought the games is using the game, no one else can use any digital games.

I sometimes have trouble with digital games in one house, nevermind with people spread out, lol.

As for your friends, if friend 1 is using Mario wonder and friend 2 starts up Mario kart, then friend 1’s Mario wonder gets suspended and he can’t play until friend 1 is done. If friend 3 then decides to play Mario kart, then friend 2’s game gets suspended. You see how this is a pain in the ass.

The whole game sharing thing is why I just buy physical for most games. Those in my family can borrow something I own without issue and those not in my family can just buy their own games.

The discounts come slow on Steam for those two, but some how, Switch send to get some games discounted faster.

Both are great, worth the asking price.
They are the same price as Dave the Diver. $20 just feels kinda high for Peglin when it's $9 on mobile, and has been $14 on Steam. Some reviewers say they've sunk hundreds of hours into it. (It also has some negative reviews) I've no doubt that it's an excellent game to the right person. I might still buy it after all. I'm trying not to, but I might!

Check out Roundguard for $5.64 if you want a good Peggle roguelite:

That one is great. I played it until I made it all the way through the dungeon, but then had no motivation to play it again after that.

I've also played the Pachi Pachi games, for the pachinko parts (not the girl parts 😆 ), and those are fun too.

I honestly wondered how they were able to make it without a licensing deal with the Peggle folks.

Like the original Peggle, I both love it and tired of it very quickly. It feels way too much like a game of chance than a game of skill. For me, there are too many factors to account for.

Even if the core game has its issues, it's very charming and I would highly recommend it. The rogue elements increase the motivation to continue playing. The developers and artists did a really nice job on this.

Yeah that's pretty disappointing/cheap of Nintendo. I feel like they would've sold more if they made a new Zelda in the Link's Awakening style.
I don’t think the Zelda/Loftwing Amiibo sold as well as they expected. That probably was a big influence on why Zelda didn’t get a new Amiibo here.

I think it was a mistake to put 2 characters on 1 amiibo.
The technically did that with Duck Hunt dog and Banjo-Kazooie though. They also seemed to have printed a ton of Loftwing by the end of it. But a Zelda to match Link in the same Awakening style would've been nice. And made sense.
