Fwiw, it did get DLC in the form of a big update in August. I hope they're planning more but it seems unlikely as dataminers confirmed that there's no more unreleased Pokemon in the game.
That's a shame. I couldn't be bothered to even finish it because of the tedium involved. Completely lost the magic of the original where it was doing certain actions that caused things to change on maps. not waiting for rng.

On the bright side, we can just play the original on Switch soon enough.

Is there a way for me to find out regional differences in digital games? For example, when I look at Blasphemous, I see that "This game has slightly different versions between regions.", but what are the differences?? I couldn't figure out where to find that.
Usually that disclaimer is posted when there are language differences in the game release per region (audio and/or subtitles).

When you access the game page in the e-shop it states the different languages the game can be played.

Other than that, I haven't seen any actual content differences in Switch games.

For that game it's different DLC sales(skins) in different regions so that's why it specifies to make sure you buy the right region.

So I’m new to the Nintendo eShop, do they usually do Black Friday/Christmas sales on there? I was debating picking up some Nintendo cards with Targets current BOGO 15% off to double dip on the sales.

That's a great deal if you somehow don't already have the game (perhaps a new owner thanks to the OLED) or possibly want to upgrade from physical to digital.

This one quietly went on sale at the start of the week, Shadowverse is on sale for $34.99. It’s got a demo that walks you through the start of the game (and the save transfers over) and it hooked me a couple of matches in, and it’s kept me playing for the past month.

Groove Coaster’s on sale again, and so is the extremely highly recommended Undertale song pack, both at their lowest prices at 30% off.

Meh, Zelda Deluxe needs to at least be half-off ($40) for me to even consider it.
I would buy MK8 digitally for $40 at this point though so I could get rid of my cart.

To my knowledge, Nintendo has not released a GOTY edition of BOTW with the DLC on the cart. I can't state for sure if they will ever do it but I would bet against it.

This was part of my b2g1 from target. :|
At least with Target you can cancel a delayed game and still maintain the discount on the other two games. Probably the best case scenario, although Target is good about maintaining the discount on delayed games … so either way a better scenario than Amazon or Best Buy.

It was always kind of weird releasing it so soon after SMT5, and right in between 2 Pokemon games. Advance Wars is not quite a jrpg, but the fanbases of all those games overlap. It's safest for them not to canibalize their own sales because not everyone buys every single Nintendo exclusive.

bought Zelda deluxe got 400 gold coins back, I had already claimed coins from physical copy so turned out to be a slightly better deal

The $35 copy of Mario 3D World Switch arrived from Gamefly. I was able to redeem the gold coins to my online account. Nice little bonus.

So the Capcom Arcade Stadium packs are on sale until Nov. 3rd.

https://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/capcom-arcade-stadium-switch/

The full collection is on sale for $29.99 from $39.99. The packs are down to $11.99 from $14.99.

I just noticed that you can finally buy individual games for only $1.99. What I was really interested in were the shmups Giga Wing and Progear (from CAVE). I'll probably buy the 3rd pack to get them, along with 8 more games.

Has anyone bought any of the games by themselves though? Was thinking of adding classics like Strider and Final Fight.

Does anyone know if Nintendo has an assist mode for young kids? Like the Xbox you can control the gameplay from two controllers.

I tried googling but “switch assist controller” didn’t give me much.

Anyone else's OLED Switch have really slow download speed over Ethernet? I have 1gb internet and I'm getting 18mbps download speed when I test the connection. I get wayyyyy faster downloads from my PS5 and XBX. I got a 1tb card for my new shiny switch and I'm finally getting around to re downloading my library and this is going to take forever at that speed. Kinda perplexed...

MVG covers that in the video below, so you aren’t the only one…

Damn that's annoying. He's still getting like 80mbps which is slow, but still a bit faster than I'm getting. Tried swapping cables and still slow so must just be Nintendo's servers I guess.

Edit: Okay so I followed the steps in this video and I increased my wired connection speed from 18mbps to 125mbps, so definitely some issues with the "automatic" connection settings with the switch.

The Switch is slower for sownloading using an ethernet cable. Wifi is faster for downloads. There is less latency using ehternet which is more important for online gaming.

Maybe, that's note accurate in my situation though, after following the steps in the video I posted above I'm now getting 125mbps over ethernet and 30-40mbps over wifi. Before I did everything in the video I was getting pretty similar download speeds between wired/wireless (between 10-20mpbs).

That is impressive speed there. I assume you meant 125 mbps and 30-40 mbps though. I get around 50 mbps with wifi on the switch already without any tweaks. I have never got much higher than 40 mbps with wired ethernet though. I tried watching that video you linked, but the video seemed to say read the description for different DNS servers to try to get the best speed. That seems like a lot of trial and error to me and those settings could need to be tweaked over time to maintain optimal speed most likely.

It could also be there are some improvements with the new Switch dock ethernet port. I just have the old Wii ethernet usb adapter. I switched over to wifi a long time ago due to the crappy speeds using the ehternet dongle.

I have a 1GB router and have up to 500mbps speeds with my internet. I get between 200-300 mbps wireless with PS5 and XSX but can't get over 45mbps with my Switch wireless. I have tried some different things but can't seem to get it any faster. My router is type B though and I have messed around with different stuff before and messed up some of my other devices so my current setup works for everything. I tried the first thing in the video and it didn't change anything but the more in depth stuff changing to type A I'm not gonna do because everything else is working the way it should and I don't download huge games for Switch anyway so it's not necessary. Annoying sure but Nintendo doesn't have huge 50-100GB games like Sony and MS so it's not too much of a hassle.

Whoops, yeah meant mbps, the video was pretty easy to follow. They give you the primary DNS settings and alternate DNS settings right there in the video to adjust it to. Tried the primary one first and was happy with the speeds I got so didn't even try the alternative one. I didn't even look at the description for any of the info as the video have you exactly what to enter. The port forwarding stuff is slightly more complicated as you have to go into your routers settings, but as far as that goes it's pretty easy as well. Doing that gives you NAT A instead of B which seems to speed things up as well. I don't know anything about the Wii wifi adapter but I imagine it's older tech at this point so may be limiting your speed somewhat as well.
