Support Rep is telling me that, no, I did not buy a copy of Halo 5 LCE because the receipt from Best Buy I scanned says I paid $199.99...

Jeez, this has to be the silliest handling I have seen of a CE ever. Why not just include a fucking disc, instead of making people go through the hassle (And setting up all the infrastructure) to swap them.

That's awful. -1000 points to Microsoft and Xbox this week. Sometimes it feels like a constant struggle keeping them in-tune with customer needs and demands.

Chat with support just ended.  I had to send them a photo of the email from Best Buy for "pre-order item picked up" to convince them this was indeed a Halo 5 LCE that I bought.  They also seemed to think my address was the one I left 6 years ago that was removed from my MS accounts right around that same time.  Managed to work through that though.  They say a disk is on the way...

1 hour 23 minutes.  UGH.

At least my daughter has managed to entertain herself and be super easy after she got up.

GameStop owns the Bethesda store. You know that right?

ThinkGeek took over all the TreeHouse Brand Stores (THBS) a few months ago (example: Bethesda Store, Bioware Store, PvZ Store, Gearbox Store etc.) and then after GameStop failed to acquire Hot Topic they decided to acquire ThinkGeek.

So while it may have shown up on GameStop.com it's likely it's from the same allotment. If you pay attention you'd notice their are a handful of things that are on a THBS site, ThinkGeek and Gamestop.com. You're going to see more of that in the future.

Personally it's bad for me because Gamestop will milk this, start doing production runs of 5,000 on items that were previously 300 or 500 knowing that there will be more visibility.

Going digital probably saved them a ton of money. They didn't have to wait for the game to go gold before boxing them up and shipping them from China.

Thank you! If I may ask, how did you eventually contact them? Was it through that website form or the phone number that was posted back a bit? I'm finding it incredibly frustrating just to get them to even acknowledge the problem I'm having (game was sent back to them due to multiple tracking numbers - not my fault at all, all on them - and they have had it back in their possession since last Thursday and not a peep from them about anything). All because I can't find a valid form of communication with them on the website. The website customer service form I have filled out has gone unresponded to three times.

They're not in line with customer needs or demands at all. Its evident that none of the major companies are when there's a lot of complaining about digital codes where physical discs should be. With the insane size of games and the amount of people that are forced to go with monthly capped internet its absolutely ridiculous to expect a consumer to willingly put up with having to ration your internet usage just so you can install a fuck game and its 9GB day one updates.

It's just like... What's collectible and what's not? Probably nothing, just mass cheap merchandise. It's impossible to buy that bundle as well.

I can't recall a game getting this much merchandise shit thrown against the wall to see if it sticks.

Tote bags with the emblem ironed on it for $60? I forgot 4imprint makes those too.
 
They do have a bunch of fallout merchandise available. I'm glad I got the controller ordered, even better it was with credit at Gamestop. Most of the other stuff coming out doesn't interest me though. I'll be happy with my pipboy, CE guide, and controller. I ordered two CE guides, planned to use one and keep the second sealed. Should I just get one? Then order the GOTY Guide and keep it sealed? About how long after FO3 and FONV released did the GOTY edition come out? A year?

Confession: When I was younger I tried to play a few Final Fantasy games and didn't like them. I didn't particularly like turn based attacks. When Fable, Morrowwind, Fallout3, and Fallout NV were announced/released I was told they were a RPG, I automatically assumed they were turn based games. I was under the impression all RPGs were turn based. I never watched any type of gameplay for any of those games. Then when Skyrim released it looked interesting so I decided to give RPGs another shot. Boy was I wrong. I really do dislike turn based RPG games, but I really enjoy action RPG games. Games like Skyrim, Fallout, and The Witcher might be my favorite type of game.

I thought all Fallout Lootcrate items were made exclusively for lootcrate? I could be wrong, the Hoodie was teased and it's on the Bethesda store.

Speaking of lootcrate, I'm excited to get this month's crate tomorrow. With items from movies like Bill & Ted and BTTF, I'm at least interested. Hopefully there's something I enjoy in it. They teased there is a shirt and funko pop. This is the first shirt since they added the level up bullshit. Basically pay extra for something already expensive and we will actually include a shirt. I remember they either had a funko or shirt in every crate for awhile.

Meh, looks like already gone. I expect every retailer to put some up cause there's gonna be cancellations from every place that sold the Pipboy, that shouldn't be a surprise. Question is more how long will the relisted Pipboys last. So far, they're still going super fast everytime the cancelled ones gets put back up. So yea, good luck to anyone looking to get this on clearance for $50.

No, one of the Treehouse reps who frequents another collector's site told us that there was a total of 5,000 (iirc) and that the amount was split evenly between Beth store and GS, but that the Beth store sold out very quickly -- likely because people were searching there since most of the media reports linked to that store. He said that they'd likely reallocate some stock back from GS if it looks like they're not moving as quickly there. But yeah, the limit is still valid, as mentioned, Thinkgeek and thus GS shares inventory now across those stores.

I wonder if that bottle opener ends up being the same one that was a pre-order bonus for Fallout 3? The picture shows something different, but also looks kinda dull so maybe it's just a placeholder image?

I've been opening beers at my house for nearly 7 years with mine. It's looking kind of beat up and the magnet came off long ago.
