At first I was like oh that's a cool item for collectors.  Especially for Mirror's Edge fans, whoever those people are. 

Then I realized wait that's dumb to spend $60 on a piece of garbage just because it's branded.  Once again here's something no one would give a shit about buying right away had it not been limited to 5000 units.

I think it's cute that Gears of War thinks it's Final Fantasy.  The dudebros on craigslist will be asking why their box doesn't have a console inside. 

 
I think it is really weird that they have 2 versions of the CE. I'm preordering for now but I think it will drop in the same way halo did.

LOL!!! Last year I had an Titanfall CE on craigslist. Despite putting clearly on the title of the listing "not an XBOX ONE console" I still got tons of text messages asking me if my Xbox One was still available, a few people even asked what's the catch of me selling an Xbox One so cheap. People can't read!!!

Harsh remark but it's true.

CE prices like this only is demanded by a hardcore market (niche titles, limited individual numbered). Guess they didn't learn with the Halo 5 CE.

 
There's an Ultimate version that has the steelbook @ $99.99 / $79.99 after Prime discount, much more palatable.

Plus, there are two versions of the $250 version, one regular, one Outsider.  So $500 to get them both.

WTF, MIcrosoft?

Because people are as dumb as fuck.

The digital Gears 4 Ultimate Edition bundle is $100 which only includes the base game and season pass. That means the season pass is going to be $40 - $50. My guess is it’s going to be $50 by itself. Before people overreact about the price tag, it’s been announced that they will support DLC for a whole year after release. 2 MP maps every month equating to 24 new maps by the time the season pass is finished.

My only question is whether MS will learn about how to handle their season pass pricing this time around. They royally fucked the loyal Gears 3 fans by discounting the season pass before the full content was even released so early adopters paid more than everybody else that got the DLC at the same time anyway.

Just to throw some more fuel to the fire, I think GS converted the Gears 3 CE at $15 PO….. there were two CE’s for Gears 3 too (LE and the EE). The only really limited item that came out of that launch was the $100 Retro Lancer replica. Not to mention there was a LE console which for my money was the best looking 360 console to date. But then again I’m biased towards Gears because it’s mother fucking Gears of War bitches.

Halo 5 CE didn't get any early launch. They just shipped out early so you could predownload the game. It still activated at the same time

Thanks for jogging my memory. So on the xbox website the Gears 4 UE is at the same price $100 without the steelbook. I have xbox credit to burn so I guess I'm screwed out of the steelbook =\

 
People don't seem to be mentioning that it's actually a 19" long / 11" in height statue. Pretty large for the price and looks pretty cool, they are force feeding a season pass though which sucks.

Not nearly as bas as shitty square force feeding a $130+ Play Arts Kai "action figure" in their FFXV UCE though.

I'm pretty sure Playarts Kai figures hold their value better than Triforce statues. Btw, the Noctis Playarts Kai standalone will be $199.99, not $130.
 
That statue looks terrible. I'll happily stick to my 100$+ Play Arts action figure.

I ended up ordering the entire protagonist trio from AmiAmi as well

Well ya that opinion holds a lot of weight coming from someone who buys shoddy $130+ action figures that probably cost $10~ to make. Keep in mind, those figures launched at $39.99 just a few short years ago (same 11/12" figures), and despite what people think not much has changed on them. Just the price and the base of goons who started collecting them steadily increased.

Someone mentioned earlier that the force fed PAK figure in the FFXV CE is actually $199, more expensive than the entire GOW4 CE w/ the 20% discount (that most people have anyway) and it's an actual heavy weight statue and a full game, a steelbook, a gay season pass.

Meh. 4 pose-able figures from a series I have loved since childhood that actually look really awesome, compared to a statue of a generic beefy character from a series that has been declining that I havent even played since #3. I feel pretty confident in my decision.

I rarely ever display large statues from most CE's anyway, most tend to look goofy or shoddily made to me. So I only buy the ones that are series I love or have other good extras. Right now I only have Witcher 3 and the 2 Dark Soul's on my shelf, the rest are all smaller figures/statues.

 
No interest in that Gears of War CE. For one, I've always thought the Gears series is one of the most overrated series ever made. An over the top action and gore lover's ADD wet dream, but never thought there was a lot of substance. Beautiful graphics, but linear, boring stale duck and cover gameplay. Games leave a lot to be desired IMO. Statue looks pretty cool, but would never drop $250 on any CE when I have no interest in the actual game.

Feel pretty much the same. I really enjoyed Gears 1 and 2, but I felt 3 and everything afterward just felt like a constant downward slope, especially when they started whoring out Weapon and Character skins.
