[SIZE=+1]Three important notes[/SIZE] (please read these before posting questions):

[SIZE=+1]1)[/SIZE] Most of the prices listed below will not be shown on the games at any given Kmart. Chances are if you can find them (and they don't have restickered UPCs - see point 3 below) they will ring up at one of the clearance prices listed. The best way to check it is to bring a UPC sheet with you and use the floor scanners to verify the pricing before you ask the Kmart associate to open the case.

[SIZE=+1]2)[/SIZE] Kmart price drops are generally national in scope. However, each store must process the price drops individually. While the price drops originate from corporate, different stores have wildly different ways of dealing with them. Some will implement them immediately, some weeks later, and some, it seems, never. Also, there are occasional glitches in the pricing where a game that is otherwise on clearance will ring up at full price at certain stores.

OK, on to the prices...

The wonderful thing about Kmart is that they combine dirt-cheap clearance pricing with a general lack of organization. Thus CAGs in the know, hopefully using info from this thread, can find some amazing deals.

First off, here's the UPC database list as created by Slash and updated by MightySlacker: http://kmart.slashbunny.com/. Use this to verify pricing in your local Kmart.

The prices are organized alphabetically and by system (thanks again to ShiningSlade for starting it off this way). What we are currently missing is a good list of accessories. I have added a few that I know about. We need more info on these (and there must be more to uncover).

In general, I'm sticking with ShiningSlade's method of listing games. However, there are a few changes. Since the exact pricing is so YMMV, and many games ring up at 2 or 3 different clearance prices I will list all of these separated by slashes, with the cheapest first. For example: Psychonauts $3/$14/$24. I am also adding a bit to the color coding - see below:

I vote for keeping things as they are. I've yet to see anyone say that the FW/SD dupes have actually resulted in any real impact on their local kmarts. So if nothing has happened, why get your panties in a bunch over it? :)

I think the thing to keep in mind is that just because someone lists an item for that much on Amazon, doesn't mean it will sell for tha tmuch. True, there are times when they do sell for that much (as evidenced by people here) but there are even more times when I see relatively rare items sitting on Amazon at their high prices for the longest time.

because of their fees. amazon takes 15% off a sale! they also charge when you list your item (im not sure how much). most of the time the prices are just simply jacked up. but youll be surprised as to what people had sold there so far though. there was a sealed project justice for the dreamcast that was listed at $299.. its not there anymore.. im tempted to sell my sealed copy as well.
 
Yep...and if you sell a lot there (thats where all my dupes go), there's a subscription fee you pay that knocks $1 off the fees for each transaction.

I'm beginning to prefer Amazon to eBay because its easier to list stuff and many items go for more than on eBay; plus, its like a Buy-It-Now with no listing fee until the item sells. When you think of how eBay gets you for listing, closing, and PayPal, it more or less evens out.
 
There's no way to see what items have sold for on Amazon is there? I am considering trying it out (I usually sell on Ebay), but it is harder to determine a price if I can't see what stuff is selling for.
 
Has anybody noticed a decrease on Warioware: Twisted? My local has 2 copies that are still $19.99. I want one but not at that price.

My panties are fine but I have seen the impact.

I think posted, compiled lists should stop. (but I do appreciate the effort and time CAGs took to compose these!)
The list invites a "cut and paste" to another site.
Why invite it? and why make it so damn easy?
IF you stop by here every day for a few minutes and click on the BM threads...you will be updated!
For me, it's simply an excel spreadsheet or word document to update (of which I would be glad to e-mail to members).

No, but the easiest way to sell something quick is to list for slightly lower than the current going price - you can see all the other listings.
 
There's definitely a hoarder afoot in my area now. Last week there were 6+ copies of Rogue Galaxy and Disgaea 2, b ut they hadn't hit the new markdown yet. Today I go back, and all the copies of both were gone (though I did find a Disgaea 2 hiding behind some stuff) after the markdown. Knowing my area, there's no way 6 people came in to buy both those titles. Pissed I missed Rogue Galaxy, as I've been really looking forward to grabbing it at that price. Anyone want to help a CAG out with a copy?

My K-mart had a few copies of Disgea 2 left also, then I went back the other day and POOF they are gone along with most of the clearance games.

While the SD/FW effect could be happening here, let's not forget that sometimes Kmarts DO tag things correctly and put them out. Let's face it - if the general public saw $7 and $10 360 games out in a bin, they'd snap them up. I was at a Kmart last week where they had pulled all the 360 games and were in the process of tagging them all correctly. If I hadn't had my son with me, I would have gotten a nice, complete, list of everything on clearance (including all the stuff still at $22-$40).

I haven't been out to a Kmart in a few days. If the ones where they didn't update prices are now wiped clean, then I'd know something is up and drastic changes will happen to the OP. Stay tuned... I was really hoping to wait on the additonal 30% or another price drop on several of these games.

I've seen the same damn thing. I love this site, but I hate that it's got so big over the years and raided by FW and SD. I wish we could warp back to when the deals were o' plenty and the games were so very cheap. Then again, I've gotten so many games from deals I found/posted on this site, I really have no room to complain. :lol:

Something i ran into today at a kmart i visited. Picked up Moto Gp 06 for 5.40 but saw this guy that worked at kmart on his lunch break using the price checker on every game and seperating the games on clearance. i asked for help and he told me to go elswhere cause he was on lunch. lol so sometimes it s the people who work there

So... Sometimes it's the people that work at Kmart that are the hoarders/ebayers.
 
Not surprising, a lot of times when I pick up a cheap game, the employees at the register will comment to each other about how they are going to buy up all the extras and trade them into EB. The last time that happened was with Madden 06 for the 360 for $1.97 at Sears. I was thinking, good luck with that, it trades in for $0.50 at the most.
 
I noticed the same phenomenon months ago at local Kmarts. I had a few things cooking, but 90% of the clearance titles suddenly dried up. Including a lot of the junk. My theory is either store employees bought them, it was returned to vendors, or shipped off to sell to liquidators. Too many crummy titles disappeared to be the work of re-sellers.

Could be stupid re-sellers or kids/parents.

Its at least partially employees, their eyes always light up like mine do when I price check it and shows up at 7 bucks.

Well, except that one old lady in the electronics section who gets angry when i price check.
 
I went to a Kmart tonight and it didn't seem to have been hit up, but it was hard to tell. There wasn't much there (PD0, Kameo, Superman Returns, stuff like that) but I don't think they had too much last week either (no Rogue Galaxy or Disgaea 2).

Does anyone know what the Nyko Intercooler pack is now? Did that drop with the latest cuts? I have it at $15 in the OP. I saw one there and I'd get it if it dropped further. I passed on it at 30% off the $15 though as I really only want it for the battery. It needs to be $7 or less.

Also, what is this PS2 "Dance Factory" that people are talking about? I don't have it in the OP and I don't know what it is.

I got Tomb Raider Legends for the 360, DDR Ultramix 4 and another copy of Amped 3 for a friend, so I'm happy 360 wise. I got Disagea 2 and Rogue Galaxy, so the only thing left for me would be coming across the ultra cheap games. They did have a 1.00 DS Car Adapter I forgot to pick up. =(

I've always been a fan of music/rythm games, but I'm only just now getting into DDR (thanks to a lucky thrift store find). I'm not really into techno, which has always been an impediment to my enjoyment of DDR, so finding Dance Factory for only $10 was a godsend. Being able to use my own music really makes the game a lot more enjoyable for me. The step generation software works really well, too...when it works at all ;)

That's my only complaint, really: half the songs you throw at this thing produce steps that don't match up to the beat, even songs that have perfectly steady tempos. At full price, that might disappoint me. But at ten dollars, this should be a no-brainer for DDR fans (if you're willing to put in a little trial-and-error and a few CD-Rs).
 
My Kmart is pretty unorganized and Ive had good luck lately finding titles I want.

What I would like to know is what titles should I keep an eye out for that are worth a good trade in amount at GS/EB or coveted by CAGers for trades?

I plan to raid the glass case this weekend and buy up what I can. Ive got 90days to return it if all else fails.

Anything worth good money that I should have my eye open for? Rare import games or anything like that?

I did pick up Chromehounds & GUN for the 360 ($7 each) and NFS2 Underground for the DS.
 
I do grocery shopping at my K-mart and check the games when I go. Well, it hadnt' been but 5 days since my last visit and all of a sudden 30% of the clearance games were gone. There was only crap left although I'm thinking of getting Viewtiful Joe for my boyfriend's little brother but it's still showing up for 15. So I think it's someone from the SD boards since stuff was sitting there forever.

About two months ago they correctly priceed a lot of clearance games they had (atleast most of them, I saw a couple that weren't pulled) and it was lame. My K-mart had 4 copies of Zelda: Minish Cap. I purchased the game when it was first released so I took my buddy over to get one, and they were all gone.

The guy that knows me in electronics seemed happy and upbeat that he went through all the games and priced them right. Damn them when they actually do their job.;)
 
Still some clearance stuff at my KMart, but here's the weird thing. There used to be a ton of PS2 games hanging in the glass case and more in the bottom in two rows. Now 90% is all gone. The vast majority was NOT clearance stuff. There was Mark of Kri and Amplitude and that's about it. There's a lot less GBA and PSP games, too. Still got Castlevania doulbe pack, though. Clerk said she thought it was all sent back. If it was a hoarder they way overpaid for a lot of crap, so doubt that's it. My favorite thing is that Halo 3 is just tossed in the pile at the bottom of the 360 area.

Probably was sent back, I know with my sears they dumped alot of their clearance items to 85% off to get rid of it so they didnt have to send it back, could be similar to Kmart since they are one and the same

Hope to hit up a few Kmarts tomorrow for some more goodies

Went down to my Kmart earlier today, didn't see anything under $20, but after reading through this thread, I forgot to check and see if the prices were right on the sticker. I just went back and got Tony Hawk's American Wasteland on 360 for $10. The sticker price was $30. I plan on traveling to two other Kmarts around here to see if I can find an even greater deal.

Yes, one couldn't play past level 30. They had/have a recall and, IIRC, they were giving out a free game to make up for the trouble.

That's why I'm glad I bought the one copy of Rogue Galaxy I've bought thus far from a Kmart that rarely puts it's games outside of the case, even when they're on clearance. They have mostly old sports titles on some of those spring loaded racks right across the small aisle the game cases are in.

So, that Kmart SHOULD still be a prime place to get another RG and MAYBE 1-2 copies of Disgaea 2 from. Plus, they had a bunch of the 360 titles that're on clearance.

If I get a chance, I'll document which ones this weekend and make an addition to my main TL, asking if anyone wants me to get them one and how much. And, unlike many on here, I promise not to gouge prices, even on stuff like Tales Of Legendia, RG and D2.

Sweet! Last time I found them was about 2 months ago. I noticed my Wal-Mart had a whole glass case of GH $19.99 titles. I noticed they were stacked 2 deep so I asked the clerk in electronics if he would unlock the case so I could take a look. Sure enough they had 2 GH copies of Lumines hiding in there.
