[SIZE=+1]Three important notes[/SIZE] (please read these before posting questions):

[SIZE=+1]1)[/SIZE] Most of the prices listed below will not be shown on the games at any given Kmart. Chances are if you can find them (and they don't have restickered UPCs - see point 3 below) they will ring up at one of the clearance prices listed. The best way to check it is to bring a UPC sheet with you and use the floor scanners to verify the pricing before you ask the Kmart associate to open the case.

[SIZE=+1]2)[/SIZE] Kmart price drops are generally national in scope. However, each store must process the price drops individually. While the price drops originate from corporate, different stores have wildly different ways of dealing with them. Some will implement them immediately, some weeks later, and some, it seems, never. Also, there are occasional glitches in the pricing where a game that is otherwise on clearance will ring up at full price at certain stores.

OK, on to the prices...

The wonderful thing about Kmart is that they combine dirt-cheap clearance pricing with a general lack of organization. Thus CAGs in the know, hopefully using info from this thread, can find some amazing deals.

First off, here's the UPC database list as created by Slash and updated by MightySlacker: http://kmart.slashbunny.com/. Use this to verify pricing in your local Kmart.

The prices are organized alphabetically and by system (thanks again to ShiningSlade for starting it off this way). What we are currently missing is a good list of accessories. I have added a few that I know about. We need more info on these (and there must be more to uncover).

In general, I'm sticking with ShiningSlade's method of listing games. However, there are a few changes. Since the exact pricing is so YMMV, and many games ring up at 2 or 3 different clearance prices I will list all of these separated by slashes, with the cheapest first. For example: Psychonauts $3/$14/$24. I am also adding a bit to the color coding - see below:

Picked up the following last night:

Wario Ware Touched $34.99

Also scanned Romancing Saga, still $15.

The electronics cashier was being a bit rude. I asked her if she could price check the games, in which case she just pointed to the stickers. I said, "I think they've been marked down, actually."
"Oh, you think SO, do you?"
She scanned Castlevania. $15. She shut up immediately... lol

There was another customer standing beside the register listening to our exchange. She gave me an approving "you were right" nod as soon as the price came up. Very gratifying, heh.

To the question about Radiata Stories dropping in price, it's kind of hard to predict when Kmart will drop games in price. Mostly it seems like it gets done in bulk, with a few minor drops every week or two in between. Radiata Stories is one of those games that will probably not drop in price again until the next big one, which could be summer or fall.

There was kmart employee that was rude to me as well and even asked what Kmart I worked at and that I shouldnt be going to other ones.

There's still stuff, cause I found a store's last copy of Odama last week for $12.00. It was the only one that I saw that was on the list though. Best bet is to look at their clearance display of games, that's where I found that copy(the games in the case were either new releases or overpriced crap).
 
so with these clearance items you have to print out the UPC's , you can't just go and check the prices in store with a reader or employee ?
 
Yes you can check at the store, but u have to be sure the employee scans the barcode and just doesnt read the price off the front of the box. They rarely update the sticker prices with the correct clearance price (the point of bringing the barcodes with you is so that you dont need to have an associate unlock the case and scan it for you just to see if its on clearance).

Ahh well it shouldn't be a problem for them to open the case and scan them seeing that should be in thier job duties.... well thanks for the reply im off to check out what the Kmart close to me has if anything....

Its 10000x easier to just print out a good list. My nearest Kmart closed the register in the electronics area, so now you literally have to go to other departments for them to radio someone over and open what you need. They also like to correctly mark about half the clearance items and totally ignore others, so sometimes you have to look in 2 or 3 different places for the games, and then wait for someone to open the case. I just scan the upcs myself if need be, so I dont have to wait 20 mins for some help.

Last trip my buddy found an Eyetoy Kinetic that I never noticed, he snagged it for $5. I think theres at least a couple more PSP games in there, but I think I will wait for some more drops, just too far and too big a pain in the ass for now. :)
 
Well, I seriously doubt there is any new drops... I checked about 6 games and all rang up at their current stick price/list price. Maybe next month? The sliver 360 face plate is down to 5.00, but I think we already got that covered. I also don't know if I mentioned that gb micros are clearenced at 49.99.
 
The Kmart by my work has 2 copies of Advance Wars: Dual Strike, but they are ringing up at 34.99 still! :bomb:



Also, forgive me if this has been asked before but, where are you guys getting the barcodes to print from?
 
I checked this weekend and alot of games that were 2-3 dollars (nightmare b4 christmas) had a barcode sticker and were back to 14.99. Saw a GBA Micro for 49.99. Thats it. Lame-o
 
The only games I was able to find were

GBA:

Castlevania: Double Pack - $15
Final Fantasy IV - $15

so $30 for both those games aint too bad.

Well I scored a copy of Advance Wars DS ($9) at a local Kmart.. what I was wondering is that in my area which im assuming happened in other areas is that Kmarts were replaced with Sears Grand stores and some have both store names on the same building.. My point was do those stores honor these deals as well ???? I am going to check it out today to see but it would save me the trip if someone already tried this out....

No. The Kmarts that have converted to Sears Grand or Sears Essential stores follow the SEARS clearance sale. Check for that thread for deals at those stores.

Picked up a copy of Advance Wars DS for $9, and a copy of Romancing SaGa PS2 for $14. I know there's a bunch of CARPG'ers (probably the only time "-ers" needs to be used with CAG - Cheap Ass Role Playing Gamers :)), so there's a heads up. I've never played it, and likely won't as I don't have a PS2, but it's a Square game. Should be decent.

This might explain why there's hardly any games in the PDQ display for the $9.99/$14.99 games @ my local Kmart(Moosic, PA). Of course, some of them may have just grown legs, like the one clerk told me about someone trying to pick up the ENTIRE plastic bin all the clearance games were in and run out the door with them.

And, as usual, someone either swiped or picked up the ONLY damned $9.99 game from the PDQ I was waiting for the price to drop on(Demon Stone for Xbox). I tried even buying it @ GS, but they had only the case art and booklet for it.

BTW, wtfh happened to the actual clearance price DROPS, as my local K has not had ANY prices drop since December now it seems. Ninja Gaiden Black is woefully stuck @ $15, as is the PS2 version of Psychonauts and Geist and Chibi-Robo are stuck at a perpetual $10 each.

I mean, don't get me wrong, those are decent prices for those games, but I am a total true cheapass who wants them all for $5 and won't buy till they hit THAT price.

Either someone @ Kmart corporate figured out too many people are anxiously waiting for the cheapest prices or they have some serious computer problems with this lack of drops.

Either way, great job thus far IO, glad to see the Kmart thread is still going, even though Kmart seems to be stuck in price freeze mode for now.
 
ok i went to 3 k-marts today... One K-mart had Donkey Kong Jungle Beat Game only They wanted 39.99 for it..i had to say no thanx...Another K-mart had Kingdom Heart Chain of Memories they wanted 19.99 for it..another NO THANX..the last K-mart i went to had Psychonauts for Xbox 3.00 :) i said yes..they had 2 copies but i only picked up one.

Whoa that's cheap for Psychonauts, my store still says that it's $14........infact everything that is clearenced says $14.
 
This week, I picked up The Con (PSP, $3) and 12 Month XBL Gold Pack ($24). Kmart has 1-2 12 Month XBL Gold Packs left.

stopped at a Kmart yesterday and noticed that they removed the "discount games" stand and shelved them all. they also had the tags marked either green or yellow, one color being $12.99 (for the $14.99 games) and the other 17.99 (for the $19.99 games). a $2 discount wasn't enough to get me too excited about anything for the selection they had.

Would you reccomend it for that price or should I wait? I know it's rare and all that but I really don't want to spend full price on a game that isn't a AAA title.
 
wario ware is a AAA title though,

the thing about it is you can't find wario ware touched anywere else, it goes on ebay for more than 35.
