[SIZE=+1]Three important notes[/SIZE] (please read these before posting questions):

[SIZE=+1]1)[/SIZE] Most of the prices listed below will not be shown on the games at any given Kmart. Chances are if you can find them (and they don't have restickered UPCs - see point 3 below) they will ring up at one of the clearance prices listed. The best way to check it is to bring a UPC sheet with you and use the floor scanners to verify the pricing before you ask the Kmart associate to open the case.

[SIZE=+1]2)[/SIZE] Kmart price drops are generally national in scope. However, each store must process the price drops individually. While the price drops originate from corporate, different stores have wildly different ways of dealing with them. Some will implement them immediately, some weeks later, and some, it seems, never. Also, there are occasional glitches in the pricing where a game that is otherwise on clearance will ring up at full price at certain stores.

OK, on to the prices...

The wonderful thing about Kmart is that they combine dirt-cheap clearance pricing with a general lack of organization. Thus CAGs in the know, hopefully using info from this thread, can find some amazing deals.

First off, here's the UPC database list as created by Slash and updated by MightySlacker: http://kmart.slashbunny.com/. Use this to verify pricing in your local Kmart.

The prices are organized alphabetically and by system (thanks again to ShiningSlade for starting it off this way). What we are currently missing is a good list of accessories. I have added a few that I know about. We need more info on these (and there must be more to uncover).

In general, I'm sticking with ShiningSlade's method of listing games. However, there are a few changes. Since the exact pricing is so YMMV, and many games ring up at 2 or 3 different clearance prices I will list all of these separated by slashes, with the cheapest first. For example: Psychonauts $3/$14/$24. I am also adding a bit to the color coding - see below:

Yeah, I can understand the difference between how management treated you and the cashier. That doesnot mean the cashiers can act like an asshole to the customers. How it is supposed to start a conversation by accusing the customer of something? No appology even they offended the customers. No, I have never met any retail people like that before. I am a CAG and buy clearance games all the time. It is really rare for me to pay the full money for a new game:lol: unless something I am desperate for.
 
Have any CAGers hit up the K-Mart's around the Baltimore/Towson area? I'd like to know if they have anything good as I'm looking for some cheap 360 games, but the drive would be a killer if I didn't find anything! Thanks!
 
Wilmington NC has none of the tv's on clearance. Might go back after work and get a couple more games (granted I find one I want).

I saw a Perfect Dark for N64 @ a kmart I decided to check out. The box was like basically destroyed but I thought that was really interesting.
 
surpised people are still finding good titles, if this was a TRU clearance, CC or BB I bet everything would be gone already

I know exactly which Kmart that is, too. That Perfect Dark has been out on the floor forever and a day, and just refuses to die.

Well, I've gutted out my local Kmart as much as I could. Got most everything I wanted. I chose to keep my dignity and not buy titles like Pimp My Ride and Superman Returns. Here's my loot over the past two weeks.

It's basically GTA in South America. The gameplay is much more exaggerated though. Your character has a deployable parachute at any point in the game, you can jump from car to car and steal them, you can rappel yourself up to helicopters, you can request a bike, boat, car or plane to be dropped out of the sky at any time. The area is huge, at least 5 times bigger than what GTA:SA was, but it's not all inhabited. Wide variety of landscape; mountains, valleys, cliffs, jungles, volcanoes, ocean beaches, high rises, shantytowns, etc.

Although the game could have been made a little better, it's still very enjoyable. At $12, or $8.40 with the discount, it's a steal. I'd easily pay $25-$30 for it.
 
Except Just Cause kind of sucks cause you have so many bloody missions and they all seem the same =(

If GTA is a 9.5 or 10, JC is a 6 IMO, unless it gets a lot better after you've done several hours of mindless driving around and shooting.
 
I just had a sign from God. My iPod Mini finally died after having decreasing battery life for the past year or so. This means one thing. I was meant to go to K-Mart and find Nanos on clearance and with the 30% discount. IT'S A SIGN!!!!

And Apple just signed back with a middle finger to K-Mart. Went on Apple.com and found out how to get it working again... I think i'll keep my eye out for a Nano anyway.

And i read the Just Cause question. I was on of the lucky ones to find it at best Buy for $4.99. Anyway, the game is pretty fun if you like just shotting all the infedels in your path. The main missions are pretty decent, have you travelling deeper and deeper into the map, and have a bit of variety inside of the "shoot those infidels" concept. But the side missions are boring as hell. Steal this car and bring it back. Meet this guy and bring back what he's carrying. Kill this guy and bring back what you looted from his corpse. The game is also pretty fun if all you ahev to do is just drive around, doing stunts. Using an rapple gun to attach yourself to a helicopter, hyjack said helicopter, jump out with your trusty parachute, then latch on to a car and hyjack that one then drive off a cliff in a cool slow motion style is really what keeps you wanting to come back back to this game and play it again.

If you like the GTA games (and like your games to be ranked in the 70% range), then you might like Just Cause. I bought this one a couple weeks ago, but returned it because I'm a rankings snob (and I just don't have the time to invest in a mediocre game).
 
The $25 gift card for $20 deal (from SD) is working at my KMart. I just went in, bought a gift card, then used it towards $40 worth of games. :)

So, on top of the 30% sale going on, you can save an extra $5 (or more if they will let you buy multiple cards).

Now I am going to GR to trade some of these in. :)

PS What's this I hear about clearanced nano's? I missed that.

most of those games are shitty to begin with and there flip value isn't that great to recover your spending cost..

I was just there yesterday and she asked me if I knew about a clearance from a "website". She told me someone came in a few days earlier and bought a bunch of 360 games for $4.90 apiece and he found the list on a website. Must have been you. Be careful about telling people about this website man! I told her I had no idea what she was talking about.
 
Bitchy manager at the Riverhead store refused to give me the extra 30% off after manually adjusting Baten Kaitos Origins to $10 (it was marked $10 but incorrectly priced in the system). Going to have to return/rebuy, and she was quite a condescending bitch, so I'm thinking about calling Corporate.

Oh, and I managed to flip Kameo x2, PSU, and Star Trek at GS to effectively pay off Smash Bros Brawl! =D

Considering I paid $9/game on average, I don't consider that a bad value. I bought these games because;
1. they were cheap
2. I wanted to expand my collection and have some new genres
3. my nephew likes Tony Hawk and his birthday is coming up

And please define "shitty." The average score of these games combined on Metacritic is 74. That doesn't sound shitty to me. That sounds like a hell of a deal for $9/apiece. So either you have extremely high standards when it comes to games, or you're just trying to be an asshole.
 
Well, today was nearly a bust for me. While they did have some stuff, I only came away for OverG Fighters and Top Spin 2. They had Just Cause and several others, but I was only looking for games to pad my collection, and the two I got were the only ones I don't have already.

There were a few copies of Lumines, but I figured I made enough money on them so I left them for someone else. This was the Altoona, PA location.

I KNEW I should have gone to one of the others. Unfortunately Johnstown is central to all the Kmarts, each nearly an hour away, in different directions. Oh well. I have to work tomorrow and I don't feel like wasting anymore gas.

what time where you there? I was there after work a bit after 5pm! The only games I picked up was two copies of PDZ, both of them were for a friend and my cousin. She was a hottie wasn't she?

there is a difference between getting a cheap good game (PDZ) and getting a cheap shitty game. I am getting tired of buying cheap shitty games, that's why I am clearing out my inventory of them to make way for better games.

The only "crappy" game on the list I know of is Cabela's, although I don't keep track of golf games, but the Tiger line seems to do well every year except for 06 on the 360. PD0 disappointed some because of high expectations, but was great. Far Cry was great if you didn't play it on the original xbox already. Tony Hawk was more of the same good stuff. MotoGP was a great racer and Just Cause was a pretty good, but somewhat repetitive GTA clone. Too bad they all didn't drop to the lowest prices for you, but still a good haul. But that's just my opinion ;)

You know, I hate to say this, but for a lot of people in the "real world" buying stuff to resell is not the be-all end-all epitome of evil that it is portrayed here on CAG. It could very well be that she was just trying to make conversation. It sounds like you overreacted a bit ;). That is, unless she was being accusatory in her tone - I have no idea. It sounds like that could be the case (from her repetition of it - though it is hard to tell from your story there ;)). I was treated that way by a Kmart guy several months ago when I was buying extras for trading. I just ignored him.

Other notes:

Someone asked about Cars for the 360 and someone else said $4.90. I don't think that's the case. It is $4.90 for the PSP version, but I have not seen any other versions on clearance.

I went to a Kmart last night that had pulled EVERY SINGLE clearance game out in the open and tagged them correctly. I found a bunch of new things there but unfortunately having my son with me (who wanted dinner) I couldn't write much down. I did find a new game I hadn't seen before: Battlefield 2 for the 360. I was going to go add it to the OP but lo and behold it is already there. Who knew? :lol:. I just hadn't seen that anywhere else yet so it seemed new to me. It has, apparently, dropped to $19 though ($13.30 after discount) so I'll update that. I was able to finally find a Rainbow Islands Revolution. I have no idea what this game is but I can't pass up DS games for $5. Oh, also got Ice Age 2.

I was able to pick up a Phantasy Star Universe and it still rang up cheap. It seems we had multiple reports that it was back to $59.99. A Kmart employee had mentioned some time in the past that if they mess up in keying in the clearance drops they can reset a game to it's original MSRP. So it will be on a store-by-store basis. Probably on the next round of drops it will get corrected.

As for stores that don't give the 30% off - we heard earlier that those may be stores that are closing soon. For whatever reason they don't participate in the promos.

iPod Nanos: the old ones are clearanced to $100, then $70 after the discount. I really wanted one as I have never owned an mp3 player of any sort (besides my PSP ;)). They always seem too expensive to me. But unlike the games, the SD/FW horde seemed to be all over these. I went to 3 Kmarts early Sunday (around noon) when the clearance started and at all 3 they said someone was there at opening to clear out their Nano stock. Blah...
 
Any chance someone can snag me a Kameo and PSU for 4.90 each? I'll pay for the items, shipping, and a few bucks for you time...

No such luck around Milwaukee...kinda lame.
 
Hey all - picked up Romancing Saga for $4.90. Good times.

Is Phantasy Star Universe worth it if I am not going to play it online (and pay the monthly fee)? I saw it today, and if I am going to pick it up at all, I figure I might as well pick it up tomorrow before the 30% ends.

Also, what do you guys think about Star Trek Legacy? It got a 7.0 on IGN, so it is decent, but is it worth $7?

Well, they must have gotten to the Danville, VA store early this week, because it was picked almost completely clean. The only 360 stuff I saw was old sports games and the only decent thing I saw was 2 copies of Tales of Legendia (of which I already have a couple that I am going to put on my list). It was a total bust...

It was a shame because I remember they had Amped 3 and Quake IV a few weeks ago.

But then I went to TRU and they had a copy of Phoenix Wright for $4.90. :)

Went to my nearby KMart to fix the no 30% off purchase from two days ago and it took forever, but I did get Rogue Galaxy for 7 as opposed to the 39.99 I originally paid.

Also, the electronics manager at this KMart told me that the store is having a Halloween event tomorrow which will include 10 to 20% off ALL games and he said they would have big deals on flat panels as well. He also said something about putting new drops out. I'm guessing this is YMMV, but I remember that my store did a family fun night earlier this year that other CAGs reported seeing at other stores. Of course, the family fun night was not impressive according to what other posters reported so take it all with a grain of salt.

 
I'm just wondering if you guys'/gals' receipts show the 30% off deduction or does it just show the final price without indication of of the sale? Mine doesn't show anything about 30% off so I'm not sure if I'm owed an extra 30% off or not.

Yeah, it doesn't mention it. You'll just notice them at 30% under sticker (i.e., 4.60 for an $8 game, etc.)

I have no idea why I picked up Dance Factory? I think I was just upset for not finding anything worthwhile that I just wanted to buy anything. I might return it or trade it in somewhere. Anyone know any good trade-in's for that game?
 
Picked up the last Tales of the Abyss at the K-Mart near my school for $13.30. Went home for my fall break and picked up Kameo for $4.90. Checked the price on Phantasy Star Universe (4x copies in the case) and was sad when they rang up at $59.99 :cry:. Checking another K-Mart tomorrow to see if I can find Phantasy Star Universe or Hotel Dusk.

Nope, the only thing that might be an indication on my receipt is an 'A' between the item and the price. Other than that, there's no 30% off indication.
