Since the Southern CA Thread is up, I figured it might be a good idea to post a thread for the locals of the Bay Area. Maybe we can do some face-to-face trades, make posts of inventory in various local stores, post any local sales, etc.

Send me a PM and I will put your name on the list below (PM's are easier for me to keep track of everyone). I will send you a confirmation when I put your name on the list.:

Hopefully something that can keep me cool... :)
I plan on swimming this weekend at my uncle's house. My cousin is having a birthday party, and they have a pool... So technically it's also a pool party. :D

I was planning on visiting my girlfriend thsi weekend, but she's all the way over in the central valley. If it's already this hot over here, I can't even imagine what it's like there. :hot::hot::hot:

Really?
I'm going to a party also. I wish it was a pool party.

I heard it was going to be a bit cooler this weekend, so hopefully that'll be true... I know how it's like in central Cali on days like these. I was in Los Banos, CA a few summers ago and the heat was truly unbearable; I think it was over 100-110 degrees at that time. I was there for a week... It wasn't fun
Forecast said it's gonna keep getting hotter.
Hopefully they are wrong.
What's your source? Mine was AccuWeather... :)
Supposedly, it's still going to be hot tomorrow (~92 F), and Saturday it'll be noticably cooler (~80 F), with further cooling on Sunday (~mid 70s).

hopefully getting a car. lookin to spend no more than $7000 on a used honda accord/civic, year 2000 or younger. less than 100k miles would be nice. anybody do a car loan through san mateo credit union? i just opened with them for that sole purpose cause i heard credit unions are usually solid deals on loans compared to BoA, etc.

sometimes i hate commuting from san mateo to livermore for work
Is there any place in San Francisco or the outlying cities that still sell PS1 and Dreamcast games.
The Alameda Game Exchange in Alameda, CA has everything you could ever need or want... though prices there are a bit steep for me.

You also have to ignore that the store is ran by the Soup Nazi. Its good for classic plastic games though. All their new releases are $5 more expensive (at least) and they don't even get their games on the correct dates.

Hmm, that's interesting. I live 2 blocks from the Webster Tube and a friend is spending the week in Alameda visiting her friend. Maybe I'll check it out.
^Lol.

Why do people buy Micro's? I don't understand what's so good about them.
They're highly portable, you can customize the way it looks, and they have the sharpest GBA screens ever made... I love them, I own two of them. :p

I'm always half-considering getting one to play whatever random GBA games I have lying around, just because it really bugs me how the cart sticks out of the DS Lite. :bomb: I don't know if that causes me $50-60 worth of annoyance, though.

$55...?! Yikes, pass. Actually will they have stuff like Appleseed? I'm not really an anime fan but I love Appleseed kinda stuff. xD

Not sure how hard these are to find, but Fry's in Palo Alto has a bunch of Metal Gear Saga Vol. 2 DVDs for I think $5. It looks like they cost about $10 on eBay. They were by the PS3 games.

Unrelated, but they're also still selling CoD4 regular for the same price as the GotY edition.

Anybody wake up choking on the smoke from the santa cruz fire? my gf woke me up coughing and the smell was just horrible. That chikery tree sure does make for a nasty smell. Freaking 4am this morning i was woke up by this shiz. Hope it goes away soon.

On a side note is anyone going to be going to the San Diego Comic Con, or know someone that will be going? I'm looking to see if someone would be nice enough to help me pick up a few exclusive Mighty Muggs. I wanna pimp out my cube with them.

On another note what stores are in the south bay that would carry Mighty Muggs? the place in valco closed (not legends comics) for "vacation" but that was weeks ago. I cant think of any other places as i'm not from around here.

Metaly: if your looking for COD4 go pick up a regular copy at Radioshack for 39.97 then get a 1600 point card at target on sunday when they are on sale for 14.99. You might be able to even use the $10 off coupon at target on the card. I know its a lot of work but you end up shelling out a little more and get 800 points after you buy the COD4 map pack.

Good thing I'm in SF, the only crappy thing is the fog( you get used to it quickly) and stupid gas prices. 4$ a gallon, but why do I care I still can't drive yet =P and that won't be happening for a few years

It was hazy in Palo Alto on Friday. I was impressed since Santa Cruz is pretty far away but then I remembered when I was living in Santa Barbara, we got a few days of smoke and bright red sky when there were fires in LA, and that's like three times the distance! Then again, when Southern California has a wildfire, they go all out.
:hot:

I already have CoD4, I just thought it was silly that they haven't adjusted the price. I do plan on taking advantage of that Target sale on point cards, though. Hopefully I can get the coupon to work. Free $15, please.

Wish I could be at Fanime right now, but paying rent is more important....I guess. There's always Anime Expo in July, though, so I could try and head there, but LA is pretty far.

I'm at Fanime right now - first year here. It's awesome but made me realize just how little of anime I know.

I think next year I'm gonna cosplay.

My sister is coming home from Fanime tomorrow, and she took pictures! :D
I'll see if I can post some of these pics up here sometime tomorrow... ;)

I forgot my digital camera, and my g/f's is really big and clumsy (it's nice for taking good photos, but not for quick shots of cosplayers). We got a few pictures, I'll post em when I can.

I dropped by Fanime a couple times just to check out the dubs I mentioned earlier. So many people cosplay or at least wear some sort of anime headgear... I felt out of place! People overall looked great tho.

If you guys see a Kankuro with a muppet, make sure to say hi. The guy's my friend, and my fiance made his muppet.

That's really good! I went with my friends on Saturday, lot of bad cosplay, but it's what I expected.

Vendor hall wasn't as good as it was last year. There were a lot of gothic clothing booths and almost no import games.
I had my eye on a Trigger Heart Exelica figure, but he was asking $280. I found it on eBay for $150 before the con, but there was no talking him down.
Any of you guys going to see the 2 day screening of Bleach Memories of Nobody? I'm thinking about seeing it.
The movie sucked, in my honest opinion. Considering it's probably going to be in an English dub, it will probably be worse than it originally was.

If you really want to watch it, find the Dattebayo english subbed torrent online somewhere.

No luck with those $10 Target coupons at the Redwood City and Mountain View stores. They actually had a bunch of 1600 point cards at RWC, but I got shut down by a supervisor. :< Then Mountain View was totally sold out. I should've gone in the other order because I still would have bought a couple at $15 each.

Anyone responsible for clearing out the Mountain View store and want to sell me some codes??!!? :D

Also, one of the cards at RWC had already been scratched off. Shame on somebody. :shame:

Yeah, always at Target I see in the cards section opened packs of cards. There are cards all over the place. Target security needs to step it up.

I wish I had seen the Brain Age 2 guy, that's hilarious. Other than that, I think my favorite cosplayers were the dudes on (I think?) chocobos.
Yeah, always at Target I see in the cards section opened packs of cards. There are cards all over the place. Target security needs to step it up.
The open cards have to be activated at the register before they can be used for anything so its just a few cent loss on a bum card.

As for the targets in the area, someone is clearing them all out. I went into the downtown sunnyvale one and there was nothing to be found on tuesday. None on tuesday at the cupertino one either. meh

who's taking all the damn clearance, i swear people that own small buisness' are hoarding all the good clearance. One day theres a bunch of the razors for my lady on clearance the next day they all magically disappear. How does so much goods get bought up in such a short time? Its baffling.
