Since the Southern CA Thread is up, I figured it might be a good idea to post a thread for the locals of the Bay Area. Maybe we can do some face-to-face trades, make posts of inventory in various local stores, post any local sales, etc.

Send me a PM and I will put your name on the list below (PM's are easier for me to keep track of everyone). I will send you a confirmation when I put your name on the list.:
The open cards have to be activated at the register before they can be used for anything so its just a few cent loss on a bum card.

As for the targets in the area, someone is clearing them all out. I went into the downtown sunnyvale one and there was nothing to be found on tuesday. None on tuesday at the cupertino one either. meh
That may be the case for gift cards, but with Xbox Live point cards you can just scratch off the back and take the code. The guy had hidden it between a bunch of untouched cards, too. I noticed it while I was in line so I had to go back and get another. :[

I'm really tempted to try again for the $5 card today, but seeing as how everyone in the deals thread is going crazy with it, I'm not going to bother. Even if there's a different supervisor working, I'm sure all the cards must be gone by now.

I thought even those cards had to be activated at the POS for the code inside to even be worth anything. Unless your talking about the ones in plastic bubbles. But if they are just the game cards and point cards that hang like GC's those arent good till payed for.

I would have loved to have gotten 2 cards for 5 bucks. Hell even just at sale price. People around here have abused that 10 off coupon to hell and back.

I'm not even gonna bother with this fucking deal anymore... Not worth it. I don't even know what to do with the two I got for $15 I'm so irritated.

I guess all the stupid people are outside of Kalifornya because if the weren't they all reject those coupons like they (were suppose to) did here.

Ah, OK. I just figured a code was a code. It's good to know they're not that easy for people to rip off.

On the way home, I was behind what looked liked some old lady with a KONAMI license plate. WTF? I wanted to stalk follow her and ask what the story was, but she got on the freeway.

That almost beats the IKARUGA plate I saw in Palo Alto last year. :)
Anyone seen any Xbox HD DVD Player?
Downtown Sunnyvale $4X.XX on clearance a week or more ago. Haven't seen too many others around lately.

Maybe the car was secondhand.

At Sunnyvale Target, I didn't see the HD-DVD drive. They did have 3 boxes of Guitar Hero 2 for the PS2 for about $39.99 on clearance. Also, I saw Genji for the PS3 for $7.48 and other stuff in there as well.

If you go to Sunnyvale Best Buy, they have a bin full of games that are $9.99 and they will take 75% off. I got a couple of XBox games for only $2.50. That along with two copies of Gear of War guides, I walked out spending $5.48.

Sometimes it pays to be do darn cheap.

I'll be in Delaware for the next 6 days. I'll check and see what they have to offer there.

Hey Metaly,

I'll definitely keep a lookout for deals out there. I'm hoping to score some penny guides and other goodies.

I was digging through some old pictures I have of some of my games. I'll have to take an updated picture which has my shelves have gotten a lot more full. But for now, enjoy! :D

I envy you, I want most of the games and collectibles you have. =(
Sunnyvale Target?
Yeah the one in downtown near macy's and the caltrain depot. Its in the 360 lock up second row on the bottom in the back. Still two there.

Nice one there Metaly.

Wasn't that one a Japanese release of the same controller? I don't really remember. Was glad to even pick up a blue one. I'm STILL playing Dragon Quest VIII and glad I was able to get into it again. It'll tide me over for awhile.

I know for a fact, that Metal looking slime gives more exp. The Blue one, well, it gives me 2 gold pieces.

--Michael

Yeah, it was some kind of special edition in Japan, although I don't know what the occasion was. I almost had a heart attack the first time I saw it because I thought the blue one was already the coolest controller ever.

Make sure to murder as many of those metal slimes as you can for that exp bonus! If you can catch them, that is. :D

Woohoo I found a Metal slime. Time to break him open for some EXP =P
I still need tog et Dragon Quest 8. A friend of mine has it so eventually I'll buy it off him. That and Chrono Cross and Final Fantasy 7 because hes turned into a 360 fanboy ever since he got one. So all his other systems and games gather dust.
Wow, I'm jealous.
The even more envious thing is that those are old pictures. He probably has even more now.

Those pictures were taken back in 2005/2006. My cabinets have been reorganized and got Wii games, PS3 games, PS2 games, GBA and DS games to help fill them up. I'll take an updated picture when I get back from my vacation.

Speaking of my vacation... I'm here in Newark, Delaware spending time with the brother/sister in laws. I went over to the Best Buy here and spotted some penny guides. I got 3 copies of Lego Star Wars Guides, 1 copy of Unreal Tournament III (they had at least 4 more), 1 copy of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and some LOTR guide each for a penny a piece. Best thing here is, there is NO SALES TAX. Even though this cost 6 cents, I could get stuff here and not worry about tax. I'm hoping to hit up the Target and maybe some of the malls and see what's up.
Are there any pawn shops and flea markets that sell games around the San Francisco area?
There's a Swap Meet near the Colosseum in Oakland, though frankly it sucks for game hunting... Everyone there seems to know the value of games (i.e. eBay prices).
There's Two Flea Markets in San Jose. ( None in Frisco, as far as I know)
That sucks, I knew about one in SJ already though. I might be in that area soon.
One of them is on Berryessa.
The Capitol Flea Market is on Hillcap Ave.
I see.
Also, Dragon Drive Woohoo.
I see.

Lol.
I really liked it. I'm bummed that I can't watch the rest, even if I wanted to pay full price.
No one carries it, except BB online...but..meh..

I've started reading the manga and watched some of the Jap Anime. Really awesome story.

Oh shiiii--

Stole this from the MGS4 thread: MGS4 world tour!

North American Tour:
Los Angeles, CA (Midnight Sale at Best Buy in West Hollywood) - June 11 (featuring Ryan Payton, David Hayter, Kenichiro Imaizumi)
New York, NY - June 11 (featuring Hideo Kojima, Yumi Kikuchi)
New York, NY (at Uniqlo) - June 12 (featuring Hideo Kojima)

Who's going to go camp out at the Metreon besides me? Well, maybe not literally camp out.

OMG!! Are you serious? I would so die if I met him! :whistle2:o
I have to go see him that day! And he can sign my MGS4 LE too! OMG, OMG... OMG!!! :D
Also stolen from the thread: MGS4 Gamestop midnight launch locations.
My GameStop isn't doing a midnight launch either, since that location is in a sketchy part of town... but it was the nearest GS I can find. ;)

Not really 'dying' to stand in line, out in the cold, and play it in the middle of the night when I get home. I can always wait until the store opens the following morning. :bouncy:

I just wanted an excuse to take off work on Thursday. :) Oh, and I hear there's going to be some kind of flu epidemic sweeping the area on Friday... :whistle2:\"

Oh Shiiii Metreon. WOOHOO Too bad I don't have a PS3 and I just started getting into MGS.

Yep, planning on going to the signing on the 14th. Not sure if I will camp or just drive out really early(4a.m.ish)

Nooo.. there wll just be a showdown. Especially when the fake Itagaki tells friend dressed as Ryu Hayubasa to pick on the inevitable Snake cosplayers.

Are the VF5 cast going to be there too?
Also, what about Soul Calibur and I guess SNK playmore and guilty gears want to have fun too.
