Be aware that not all Sears are alike, so prices are definitely YMMV.
List
  • date = date posted or updated
  • cp = current price
  • opp = old posted price
  • (oos) = out of system
  • * = posted at different prices (more than twice, most are)
Colors
  • white = current update
  • dark gray = old (ie. out of stock items)
if the prices are not updated in over a month, it will be colored as dark gray.

notes:
  • Don't turn this into your own trade list. Don't ask people if they want to trade X game for your Y game. PM is the best way to ask. Do your trading on the Sears Trade Thread.
  • Print UPC-A barcodes if you're having a hard time getting someone to open the cases for you. If you need UPCs refer to Half.com (just type the name of the game) or to io's kmart clearance thread. Go to either UPCDatabase.com or Barcodesinc.com to generate a UPC A barcode.
  • If you bring up a game and the employee scans it and does not show up in the system, it is most likely that the item has been pulled out of their inventory (most of us would call it 'out of system'). What this means is that the item must be returned to the manufacturer (so they were told anyways, but i don't believe it..). You can try to get them to sell it to you for the stickered price shown or maybe lower. It depends on the employee or manager.
  • Some of you are confused as to why some games are priced and rung up at retail prices but its listed below as clearanced at their respective clearance prices. Heres a good example:
    • 100607 ... 01.97 ... 09.97 ... Dead or Alive 4 (Non PH) *
    • ^^^^^ notice how the last reported price was October 6, 2007. The Platinum Hits version was also on clearance since it shared the Regular version's barcode. But they put the price back up in retail a few months later. Hence you still see the game now as retail instead of clearance.

Another great find this week was Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. I don't know if it was ever on clearance or if they just never updated their system with the price, because it was $14.99. the .99 tag leads me to believe that it scanned in at MSRP.

Yeah, they lowered that to $14.99 well over a year ago, maybe over two. Frankly, I'm surprised a retail store still had that in stock period. Just more proof that not many people think of buying games at Sears.

I guess you must have been lucky then. I didn't find any of that stuff when I was there. I did notice that they reorganized everything last time I was there. Didn't get a chance to look around then though.

I picked that Fire Emblem game from sears last year for 6.97... Granted when I found out what they sold for, picked up a second copy to pay for everything else I bought from there that day.
 
I just wanted it to play it. It's not in mint condition, and I doubt it would sell above $40. The shrink wrap is slightly torn at the bottom, and the art is slightly worn.

I'm surprised that the game goes for that much. I wouldn't think it's a very popular series, because the gameplay is so punishing.

Considering I couldn't find Zelda: TP for the life of me, it's a pretty good find.
 
ok what's the deal with sears? I've never hit them before really, but I did tonight. Our local sears had a huge bin of clearance games but they all had $19.99 - $29.99 price stickers on them. Do they mark there games or do I have to take them to a scanner to find out?

never go by tagged prices, always get it checked. I've gotten (from sears) a game that was marked 19.99 for 5.
 
Found a store that had :gc: Zelda TP ring up as $9.97 tonight.

I was gonna pick it up with a $5 coupon I had from my Singstar online order not being ready in 5 minutes, but the POS siad the clearance game wasn't a 'qualifying item'

That's such a quick drop from 19.97 -> 4.97. I need to check on that.... sucks since I was just there today to pick up a 9.97 copy of Warhawk bundle.
 
I passed on a Battalion Wars 2 for Wii and a 360 HD-DVD drive today ( that was not at this store as of last week). I think I will go back tomorrow to get them.

Picked up a couple HD-dvd drives at the first of about 3-4 sears I hit this weekend... they will be kept... Have 4 total ATM, and a couple stand alones... hopefully that should tide me over for a long long time as my hd collection creeps above 150 movies
 
well, i went to my local sears store today and i found te clearance bin if games. unfortunately, i found no games under $15. for example fear was $30.

did i miss something or do the prices vary by store? also, does it matter that my sears is attached to a mall?

i scanned all games i was going to get. they rang up at the tagged price

or do the games have to be scanned at the register for the clearance prices, not at a price checker?

Some items come up as out of system at the self scanner, but will ring up properly at the register. Some come up out of both systems. Was it Fear for 360, or PS3. I've gotten PS3 version for $4.97, but 360 version is $30.

the only version of fear they had was for the 360. so i should just take it up to the register and see what they scan it for?

I would definitely test that HD-DVD drive if I were you. I traded one to another CAG and it arrived DOA. The failure rate on them was supposedly as high as the 360 at one point.

Also, I highly doubt anyone is going to trade a Fallout 3 LE guide for it, since those guides are/were going for $40-50 or more just recently.

Just a heads up for you about the guide and the failure rate on the HD-DVD drives.....

Yes, you should always scan the items, but it sounds like the 360 version will be $29.99. Only the PS3 version is clearanced.
 
hmm, the first post says that the 360 fear version is on clearance and it was in the $29.99 and under bin at sears... oh well, im going to a different sears tomorrow. hopefully mu luck will be better there.
 
I was in a Sears the other day and they had a clearance table filled with waaaayyy overpriced games. I had a clerk scan an unpriced 360 Blacksite: Area 51.
$29.99
I laughed and put it back.

Someone had to have put that pink sticker on the game, while any of those $59.99 priced ones had older than dirt tags on them. The game is $19.99 new everywhere, n'est-ce pas? Whoever was selling it must not have cared that the sticker had been put on it or just didn't want to fight about it.

Burnout Paradise isn't glass-case at my store. I tried to get everything $29.99 and below for the big systems and $19.99 and below for portables into a "value" bin, only because space was at a premium at the time. We don't have much clearance left. I've had two women come in recently and take down some pretty big hauls (fortunately, I had already hoarded and purchased what I wanted).

I am pissed when I have to give up deals over signing issues; par exemple, another associate put Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party behind a bin ticket that read 19.99 for "RAYMANRR" or something like it. I couldn't even say a customer screwed that up, and the ticket looked like it should have been reading for the right game, so I did it.. Even if it's only the company's money, to whom I'm not all that loyal to begin with, to have to honor a 60% markdown over associate negligence just irks me.

If there is something I really want I might buy it for $9.97 like the Singstar Bundle even though it was untagged in the glass case because I knew all it took was for an employee to find out the price or another CAG to buy it for it to be gone.

Otherwise I am willing to wait because they used to be horrible at retagging games at my 2 local Sears, now both are almost all up to date but some are still mixed in with the regular games untagged.
 
Had an odd experience at my local Sears (the bad one). The guy I usually see was still there and cranky as ever, but he pointed me out to a clearance table with all the February stuff. Mind you, nothing worthwhile was there (except Manhunt 2 at $4.97 which I already have though). I took pictures to remind myself of what games were clearanced at what. I can list the games and prices if needed.
 
Went back to pick up the 360 HD-DVD add-on and it rang up $49.99. I told him I picked up one from another store for $4.97 and he thought I was lying. He told me he had just put it out yesterday and that it had just come in. WTF !
 
I'm curious, has anyone seen Vampire Rain on the PS3 at any Sears? I liked the demo (from the japanese PSN) but since it has gotten some horrid reviews, I really don't want to pay a lot for it. So I'm just wondering if I can look forward to getting it cheap from Sears.

However at both stores, the PSP media manager rang up at $24.99. It had a sign saying $9.97, but the barcode in the example had one too many numbers on the UPC.

Take in your receipt for the $4.97 player and have them price match it. I did that with a Dynasty Warriors Gundam that I bought in January for $14.97.
 
Sears in Pheasant Lane Mall, NH SUCKS! I hate going in there. Every time. I ask the cashier to price check x-men the movie for gamecube, he keeps telling me that he can't sell it because it has no price. Fine Mr. Sears man, NO COIN FOR YOU!

You actually WANT a movie game? Mind you, I want the Incredible Hulk game for PS3(which is just a carbon copy of Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction with toned down graphics), but it's still $13.97 around here and I don't want to pay over $5 for it.
 
well, i went to another sears in metro detroit today. they had no games on clearance. even mercury meltdown revolution for the wii was $15. grr, why do the metro detroit sears never clearance their games.....
the employee today told me to check back on the first friday in march which is when they apparently apply new markdowns..

and before anyone says it, i scanned all games that were supposed to be on clearance. none were...
 
Yeah that might be when the new markdowns are, this month they were also marked down on the first Friday but some people reported they got the markdowns on Thursday of the month. It's only 2 weeks away and I'm going to start checking even a few days before that.
 
Hi, everybody. I joined CAG a couple of weeks ago, but this my very first post. I wanted to sit back and see how things work around here. I just think this site and 99.9% of the posters here are absolutely awesome. It's a godsend for a gamer especially with the economy in the toilet like it is. Well, I am happy to say I have finally found my own local gold mine. I just came back from my local Sears and picked up Madden 08 360 for $4.97 plus tax. I also had Pirates of the Caribbean At World's End and NBA Street Homecourt, both for the 360, scanned, and they came up as $4.97 each. As soon as I get paid I am definitely going back for those two. Thanks to all of you CAG guys and girls for the tips on finding clearance games.
