My credit for it isn't there, though they seem to be lagging behind at least a full day for me.

In other news, I got one of the BioShock 2 rewards tonight - Login. It requires a decent amount of playtime (a couple of hours if you're a careful explorer like me) into Minerva's Den. The real irritating thing is that Distance Hacker only unlocks in the main game, despite the fact that you have to remote hack in the DLC.

My big time commitments for tomorrow are Mafia 2, Spec Ops, and Party of Sin. I think I'm going to focus on Spec Ops and I'm pretty sure I can complete that in the allotted time. Mafia 2 looks pretty time-consuming.
I'm starting up Mafia 2 tonight. We shall see. I did everything today besides XCOM and Party of Sin. I've played some Party of Sin and it's a horrible Trine clone that I really don't feel like playing through (rewards are progress based). XCOM Declassified... I'd rather take my time. Mafia's rewards don't seem TOO bad. You can get a hot rod on mission 8 to do the 50p reward with.

Heads up though, if you don't wanna spend a bunch of time on Spec Ops, just do the 50p achievement. Literally all you have to do is start the first level, walk forward, turn right, hop over the barricade, and then look off the ledge to find some antelope (oryx). Shoot one and you're done.

This is the only one I didn't have from my original playthrough, and fortunately it's pretty easy to achieve. You can complete it in Level 3 right before the end:

Video of level (starts at 9:30)

At 9:36 you'll notice a red arcade machine. In order to reach it you need to pull down one of the stone pillars that hang over the ledge (you get a slight glimpse of them at around 9:45). Once you reach the machine, you'll play a mini-game where you have to slice all the boulders that are shot into the air before they reach the ground. Pretty easy stuff, got it on my first try.

I got the 50p Mafia 2 achievement literally 5 minutes before the reward expired.

Some of the most intense gaming I've done in awhile. Power went out this morning, and when it came back I had like 30 minutes to figure the achievement out. Had to go through a pretty long mission, cap a bunch of greasers, then steal one of their hot rods. The achievement was to go 125 MPH, so the hot rod was the way to go, but unfortunately you have to upgrade it twice to hit 125. I only had money to upgrade it once. I had 10 minutes left and no way to make money in that time, so I just went for it. Went flying down the bridge, topped out at 120 MPH, then the bridge slanted down a bit so I gained a couple MPH on the incline. Still wasn't hitting 125, a wall was coming up, just held the gas, plowed into the wall at full speed, died, and POP, there's the achievement!

Pretty wild stuff, I literally hit 125 a nanosecond before hitting the wall. There's no way Playfire is gonna track that reward, I'll have to add it to my missing rewards list I'll need to send in, but yeah. That was fun.

It looks like the Age of Empire II HD folks just released a patch that greatly enhanced the AI, meaning: your achievement hunt may be a lot harder. The AI was kicking my ass all over the place.

I'm going to go try a Custom Scenario and see if that works a little more smoothly.

Do you guys know if the Day of Defeat achievements are hard or not? I've never even played it before and dont even remember buying it lol. thanks!

My guess is they actually have changed and it can track even if it only gets checked after reward ends. Happend with oodle tree for me.

(Old url will be redirecting there soon)

Now with working achievement tracking & login using openid.

Found out also steamlessness lies about me having some achievements. :(

Feel free to test. Takes about minute to sync steam profile first time, then it should be pretty updated automatically when used (~hour between updates, will add force sync later)

Edit: Fixed typo in file name, should be working for real.

I don't get it. I can never get Steamlessness to track what games I own, yours is the same. Says I don't own anything. Everything in my profile is set public, not really sure what else could be the issue.

Edit: Hmm, I had 3rd party cookies disabled on chrome turning that back on fixed it for your site but nor Steamlessness. At least I have an alternative now thanks a lot!

I wish I could give you more likes.

Okay, switching gears -- Age of Empires II HD rewards:

As I mentioned before, the new patch greatly increases the capabilities of the AI. If you're new to the game you don't want that while you're achievement hunting.

- Right click the game in your Library and select Properties, then Betas, and then opt for patch 3.5

- Much easier.

Even still, you may want to consider creating a Custom Campaign with the Map Editor to trigger these three achievements.

- Live to Rebuild (.25): create a map with 15 houses (yours) on an island with 8 enemy battering rams, Make sure you give yourself some Villagers, a Town Center, and a Dock so that you can destroy the battering rams after they've demolished your buildings.

- Five Wonders (.50): you can probably use the same Custom Campaign, but go ahead and give yourself a few buildings to make upgrading to Imperial Age easier (Blacksmith, Stable, Archery Range, University, Monastery, etc). Be sure to set the enemy AI to Hard. You'll have to build the Wonder and win the scenario that way five separate times, so you're looking at a couple of hours at least.

- Mysterious Foes (.10): No freaking idea. I'd love to see some tips on this one.

It's syncing your profile atm. (3rd party cookies aren't needed.)

Looks good, let us know when we can sort which games we own and can get rewards for.

Oh, it was syncing! Looks good mate.

I started a single player game, set the mode to Wonder Race and the AI to easy. To make it even easier I started in Imperial Age. In the game I just needed some wood, gold and stone to build my wonder after it's finished building, I won. Repeat 5 times.

But I did this before the patch, I'm not sure whether it's still working.

I think I got this after playing against a random AI and winning the game.

It's going to be brutal doing Playfire Rewards and monitoring Steam Sale glitches. Game on!
Tell me about it. World Cup, Playfire, and Steam sale. I have decided to put Playfire on hold for now and just focus on the WC and Steam sale. Too much to do, too little time to do it in.

Humanity Asset is a pretty subpar game, mostly unnecessarily long. I even liked Bad Bots better.

It looks like the last achievement reward is pretty much finishing the game. Too bad I'm only on Mission 4 (of 14) and already sick of it.

Finish mission 9 and you'll get it.

Hard to reach in regular way though.

Yeah, I haven't had time for Playfire this week. Work and World Cup has been getting most of my attention. Don't expect the Steam sale to get too much of my time, but I have plans for the weekend too so I've just been doing the play for the first time one so far.

You can get the Wonder and Random achievements replaying the same map (set to random), playing the Wonder Race as you described. I had no problem doing it using the beta patch.

It has some great idea and isn't terrible... but the platforming kills it. Once you get further you will be swearing up a storm. Trust me, you'll be competing with impossible jumps that take retrying over and over again more than you'll be competing with enemies.

I played it WAY too long last night. Got to level 7 or so I think before calling it quits. Not worth the time. First two achievements are easy though, just fully explore the first level (go through all the doors). Second you just need to find a grenade launcher weapon (there's one in the second/third level) and kill 20 enemies with it.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAnope.

Screw the Portal 'fewest steps' challenges. :headache:

*edit*

If someone wants to add me on Steam, I'd be more than happy to trade kills for Max Payne 3's deathmatch "Dearest of All My Friends" achievement. PM me for my SteamID.

If you're going for the Kairo rewards before they expire today there's a guide you can use: http://steamcommunity.com/app/233230/.

The achievements you need don't come until near the end (end of Part 3, finishing Part 4, finishing Part 5).  Overall it took almost 2 hours.

One other thing to keep in mind is that you can reset a room by hitting 'R'.  I screwed up the fan room towards the end and couldn't complete that puzzle.  After swearing at the game I figured out you could do that and that let me finish it.

Damnit. I knew I should have gotten Naruto. Hate how it was in a flash sale at the worst time of night. :wall:

Any chance it'll get repeated?
It's definitely possible but not. Many of the flash sales will repeat as main sales and they may even repeat the flashes. Also the last day or two are usually repeat days so you have a chance there as well.

I'll be honest.  Part of me is happy to see them have these Steam sale related achievements, but another part of me was hoping for a break after the IFD rewards!

Is anyone else having an issue with their "Play for the first time" tracking? I have had 2 scrapes now and none of the play for the first time tracked on probably a dozen games.

Thanks. This is my first major Steam sale, and probably one of the last things I've yet to experience in the PC deals realm.

No kidding. For right now at least, I only have 1 game with achievements per day, which is much more manageable/easier than the 5 or 6 per day during IFD.

So I finally got a reply from Playfire support, saying they credited me for all my missing rewards. Problem is...it doesn't look like they did. They said it wouldn't show up on playfire, but it's not showing up on GMG either. Do I just need to wait a bit longer? I got the email yesterday so I figured the credit would be there by now.

When they e-mailed me back for my missing rewards, my money was already added in, so I would wait a bit and then just contact them again.

Your site's all kinds of messed up for me. I like that you have an archive of all the rewards they've ever done though, even if it's not all showing for me.
Yeah, archive isn't working properly. Need to create server side solution for sorting as loading all data at every page load isn't good idea.

Just a heads-up. The Overachiever achievement for Injustice: Gods Among Us worth 25 pence is incredibly easy to do. All you need to do is play STARS Lab mission 1 and finish it. You'll automatically get 3 stars on the mission, and the achievement.

Takes like a minute because all it is is a tutorial for Superman's moves.

Working on the other two, the 10 pence one (finish half of Story Mode) seems like it'd take the longest...

Finish half the story isn't bad. It's about 2-3 hours to do, but if you care about DC Comic characters then it will be enjoyable.

As for the other one where you knock the opponent through the 3 areas of metropolis can be done in practice mode.

Man, Dead Rising 3 for $36 after voucher and with credit would have been tempting, but as usual no voucher and credit.  $45 with credit is not appealing at all.

Yeah, the story from the game is pretty much Justice Lords if you ever watched the cartoon. Still very enjoyable, having a hard time putting it down but I gotta get to other games. :whistle2:(

This voucher not working with credit is really starting to annoy me.  I can't pull the trigger on anything because I can't bring myself to pay more when I just tried to use the voucher and saw the same item at a lower price.

It will be the norm. Get used to it.

The great GMG paradox of trying to get something at it's cheapest with free pirate monies.
