I see what you did there. Trying to be funny.

Back in the guitar hero / rock band days, I had a bunch of guitar plates custom painted by a body shop with car paint. They were quite rad! My plan is to test some paint samples with the same auto body shop and make some cool colors for the pro plates. I did an awesome orange pearl swirled for the guitars back then.

Isn’t the whole point of removable plates is to make the console customizable?
I legit wondered if that’s what the paint job was going to be. Not as a scam at all, but made me consider if that could be an issue. A knockoff 30th pro, done by a bit of retrofitting from factories in China could make ridiculous money. Not being facetious, but also had difficulty seeing how custom paint jobs could co-exist with your stance on “fake” games.

I’ve been collecting for nearly 30 years now. Only NA games and some JP games that were Japan only. I imported a lot of NGPC back when I was younger and learned Japanese at a young age.

Not a fan of euro/PAL and especially other alternative releases. Hence why to me I call them fake. They aren’t the original domestic release and DLC may not work on them in the main regions.

As far as the painting, I’d never try to make a knock off limited edition. I own the entire 30th anniversary series… the slim PS5, dualsense, portal, and dualsense edge. Just never got the Pro 30th. Regarding the ‘fakeness’, the plates standalone are meant to be customizable. So why not have some fun and have them done by a professional! No spray paint or plasti-dip.

Please stop calling these games fake. Just because a game was released in another country doesn't mean it's fake. The only fake games would be counterfeit games such as ones for the DS, Genesis, SNES, NES, etc. that you can get from China and even these are known as reproductions.

Here's an example. Plucky Squire recently came out for PS5 and Switch. The ESRB version of the deluxe edition comes with a digital soundtrack download code. However, over in the UK and Europe it comes with an actual CD soundtrack. I'd rather buy the PEGI version because of the CD. Is the PEGI version a fake game? No. It's an authorized release by Nintendo and Sony.

I mean, seriously, if this guy calling games fake bothers people so much, ignore him. that is what the feature is for. we can't keep arguing about the same thing in every thread.

I agree that it’s getting old. I never even brought it up, just replied to someone about faceplates. It seems some members get bored and like to antagonize.

Currently playing Stellar Blade on Pro mode with VRR on. Curious to see how it plays side by side in real life with a base PS5. Took me a little while to get into it and now I feel the groove after about 3 hours.

That's a bummer, Inquisition is the one I haven't played. Although the others were so long ago that I think any references would be too lost on me anyway.

I had a similar experience for BL2 as you did with BL3. Bought the launch edition with the season pass, by the time the DLC rolled out, I was over it. Skipped the pre-sequel and 3 entirely. Played through Tiny Tina with my wife last year and we loved it. I do have 3 if we decide to play it, but I would have loved a sequel to Tiny Tina.
The main thing is DA has you "import" your decisions and inquistor over...that was so long ago I no longer have that save data (who does honestly) and I sure the heck can't recall the decisions I made in that game....in the character creation you create your character (Rook) as well as the Inquisitor. There is enough world building that won't get lost with what happened in the previous games...although from the presepctive of the "villian" might miss out on some things about Solas.

Makes me wish games would do a "previously on" montage more often

Well, that’s probably the nail in the coffin for PSVR2, that or they sold a lot more units with the $350 deals through the holidays and found a price point that works.

There truly just needs to be more games and support. I don’t believe the PSVR2 has either. I got it as a gift last year and still have yet to open it. And my PSVR1 sits untouched for a while.

If the PSVR2 were at all successful, we probably would've seen a 30th Anniversary version. I'm actually a little surprised they didn't reconfigure a bunch of old inventory with new gray plates just to help unload them.

The amount of ignorance in this thread about PSVR2 is staggering. There are A LOT of amazing games. It's been out for 2 years. It was overpriced to begin with so this price cut is the price it should have been at launch.
It is still overpriced. I will stick with the Quest 3 which doesn't need to connect to a computer to play.

Needing a PS5 and the PSVR 2 is what makes it overpriced and why many do not follow it (hence there being a separate forum for the PSVR)

Unless I am one of the ignornat ones and I am mistaken in that fact?

PSVR2 is pretty solid for the price IMO, huge step up in quality from the original PSVR. I honestly don't see much difference in quality between the PSVR2 ($350 with the holiday deal) and my Valve Index ($1k).

For anyone who doesn't yet have a PC VR system, I think the PSVR2 + PC adapter is probably the best way to get into VR right now, cost/value-wise.

I kept reading the PC adaptor for the Vr2 is a huge waste. Do you own it? I have a mega PC and can run anything if there’s something you could recommend.

Free DLC for The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak II that goes away at 6 AM PT/9 AM ET Friday:

Is there a way to get DLC like this to auto-download to a game when you start it? I've got tons of free DLC stuff like this but it's impossible to keep track of...

I like to know this too. The Xbox makes this problem a breeze but the Playstation doesnt seem to have a feature like that(or at least i dont think it has)

Nah, I haven't bought the adapter since I have the Valve Index for PC games.

The most fun I've had with VR would probably be the drumming game Ragnarock (which is on both PC & PSVR2). That game is a blast.

Either the game will prompt you to pick which DLC to download when you go to download the game or click on the Options button on the game's tile and go to Manage Game Content to see what DLC you can install or delete.

PlayStation VR2 Horizon Call of The Mountain Bundle is $399.99 on
Amazon (price drop) buff.ly/41WgEqQ
Target buff.ly/3F2P8Pi

Amazon looks like it's sold out... Wasn't this like $350 during BF? Hopefully this continues to be around to this BF and maybe hit $300. I wish they'd find some way to patch VR1 games or offer an upgrade path since VR2 roster is somewhat thin. But at least it can used with PCs.

Also, didn't realize that the review ratings were less than stellar on Amazon and just average on Target and seem like some QC/durability issues.

im really tempted to try again with that $238 warehouse deal price. it says they have 9 in stock, so it doesn't seem like they would all be returns, but the description doesn't really sound like dingers. my brain and VR just don't seem to get along though.

I wouldn't buy anything used for something like this that goes on your face. They obviously don't clean returns - it's not like refurbished to be like new from the manufacturer. Here's one such review from just a month ago:

"Be wary of buying this as USED.

I bought this as a used item that was fulfilled by Amazon and advertised in “very good” condition for about $290. It was not cleaned at all from the previous owner, the headphone buds were covered in ear wax, it almost made me gag. But after I washed and wiped everything with alcohol swabs, it looked as good as new." The rest of the review complains about no game code included, but that should've been obvious.

Edit: Wait, I just noticed you said you're tempted to try again. So you bought one from Warehouse previously and presumably had a subpar experience?

nah, i bought it new at launch. sold it to a buddy because it was giving me headaches and weird cold sweats. the thing is amazon warehouse or amazon deals as it is now also sells damaged packaging items. that is why it might be worth a gamble when there are multiples available of things because it's unlikely they would have that many returns of an expensive item like this all at the same time.

Robocop is an easy buy at that price. These are the kinds of sales I would like to see more of digitally. They should be cheaper than physical copies, not the other way around.

I keep hearing great things about this game. I never paid attention to it…maybe I’ll jump in and grab it.

Watched a couple minutes of some MH streams. Is it me or is the game very ugly? Looks like we're back in the PS360 days of piss filters.

I played the first hour or so last night on my Pro and it was fine. Some of the textures definitely look muddy up close but the framerate on performance setting looked to have little to no dips which is what I always want first out of graphics.

right now I'm trying to figure out why the review scores are so high.

Why does MH get a free pass? It kind of shows you the huge disparity between reviewers who get free copies, and game-lifetime customers who pay. But I've seen and read enough to know this game is not a 90.

You can tell these guys played a AAA game for 20hrs which they got for free and then said, "I liked it".

If you want people to start buying new release games again, this is not the way.

Agreed. I literally went shopping today with an intent to trade some older games for the 20% boost towards the steelbook edition of MH rise. I have never played any game in the series before.

Right before I was about to go to GameStop I read more reviews and especially steam reviews. It appears to me that besides fanboys of the series, the game is getting hated on for its ease, the graphics, and the short length with no bonus monsters on the near horizon.
