I think the Switch 2 will sell a LOT more then these mid console upgrades like the PS5 Disc-Less Pro Max.
Agree with this. Although I do wonder how much of a bump the switch 1 got from covid. That thing was no where on the shelves when we all had to lock down. I see your point with the Steam Deck vs Switch. I should have said for me personally on that one.

I wonder if Nintendo's message with the Switch 2 will be clear enough that people will feel the need to go get it?

I‘m curious to ask here, to see a tally or poll of what members got from Sony direct during the 30th preorders. I got everything except what I actually wanted, the 30th Pro. My preorders are:

  1. PS5 slim 30th
  2. Dualsense Edge 30th
  3. Portal 30th
  4. Dualsense 30th (from the recent restock)
I own all of these products currently, minus the Portal. Debating on if I’m switch over to these or keep them sealed for the time being. I truly only wanted the Pro and I’d rip that sucker open the minute it got delivered. I disagrees, these above are just consolation prizes as it stands. I LOVE the look of the slim 30th and dualsense 30th! Brings back so many memories.

I got 1, 3 and 4, and debating the same thing... but will likely just open the Slim and Portal and dump my original PS5 and Portal. I will eventually get a Pro and when I do, I'll just box up and keep the Slim stored away. I'll likely keep the DualSense sealed since I already got 2 PS5 controllers and don't really need any more.

I like Apple TV plus. A lot of great shows and a great interface too. I wouldn't mind paying $9.99 a month for it but Apple is constantly giving trials away. I have had it for 2 years now and have never paid for it. I just keep getting new trials and creating new Apple IDs if the trial won't work with the current one.
Target, Best Buy, Sony, and so on have all offered 3 month free trials both now and in the past. Looks like with this I can redeem another 3 months from Sony even though I did so before.

Yes I know. That's where I have been getting them. Thing is though, sometimes I am not alowed to redeem on the same account so I need to make a new Apple ID. I was able to stack Target and the 6 month Apple from Sony before with the same ID and also was able to get a Best Buy and LG offer to stack with the same ID. I will see if this current Sony trial stacks with the current ID I am using once my trials ends.

Does Stellar Blade have a one-handed mode? Asking for a friend...

Seems like the GTA Definitive Edition Trilogy got updates on PS5 to fix many of its issues that were fixed in the Netflix mobile ports:

That might depend on the reception those games get on the service. They might be doing this to gauge interest.
Yes, that's what I was thinking too. But if that's the case, it's going to be a while before we get that remaster. If they haven't even started on it, what 2026 at the earliest? I'm hoping they have it almost all ready to go and are just doing this little test for now to wet our appetites.

Then again, if people play the first two games, they're not going to want to spend 60 bucks or whatever to play the games all over again so shortly after they just finished them. Hmmm..

I'm one of the few who have never played GTA5...maybe it's time
I did not like the game and had to force myself to finish it. Almost quit three times. There's a character Trevor who is one of the most vile, disgusting characters I've ever seen in a video game. What's even worse though is that he's a main character and you have to play as him. It's a very detailed and awesome world though just driving around but as far as the actual story and gameplay, I did not like it.

Yeah, it’s already been on PS Plus Extra for three months. Guess you could play it and if not finished, wait a year or so when it comes back to play more, lol.

Back in 2013 My mom and dad were mad heated at me when I played that game cause of Trevor’s they told me to trade it in to GameStop or they were gonna break the game

Needed a good laugh. Thanks

I had a Genesis as my primary basically straight until the Dreamcast. We added the Sega CD and 32X onto it, but I skipped right over the bulk of the 32- and 64-bit eras until they were retro.

For some more nostalgia, I just dig this out of my attic and took this pic.

Edit: have a newer iPhone. How can I post a photo that “isn’t too large”?

Only if you were a PlayStation kid. I grew up on Nintendo, I got maybe 2 or 3 new games each year.

Damn those nintendo games were more expensive then ps. I see why I always was allowed to rent games. Gamers these days should stop whining about price of video games when was the same back then and even worse before 64/ps1 days. Also funny Nintendo would still have these games at the same price today.

New Nintendo games, particularly N64 at toys r us, were $70. And that was in 1990s currency.

Oh, right, those magazines used to have that kinda thing. I only ever read gaming magazines from the 00s, and I don’t think they really did that anymore by then.

I got my N64 On Christmas of 98 with Yoshi’s Story. I only got three brand new games backand only one was full price. Games were so expensive that I got them used from friends, cousins, or Gamestop. I remember seeing Perfect Dark on release for $90 and many games in the $60-$80 range during the late SNES and N64 era. PlayStation was so much cheaper to own. N64 games stayed high used too so it really sucked as a kid 😭

I found CAG in the PS2 era back 8th grade and that changed how I purchased games, though I always waited for sales before CAG too.

100%

I felt it was time and grabbed GTA 5 for $20. I quit the game, could not get through the Trevor part. 0 redeemable qualities

Nintendo power did and usually covered the early parts of rpgs even on occasion. Symphonia went up to the wind temple I want to say, pokemon colosseum had I believe up to celebis forest, gale of darkness to the boat (don't think it was the ss Ann) as just examples.

I think the only reason I had a subscription was because they were free when buying games or guides back then.
