Playstation Rewards program is back!
I really wish I understood the leaderboard... I had the full 1320 before I posted here (even my score on the site reflected that), but I still come up as second?

1) CaptainUrahara
2) admiralvic
3) flameofdoom666

Well... at least the top 3 are cags.
The leaderboard is all kinds of wacky.
At first I thought it was first up there would stay first, but they get pushed down.
Then I thought as new people hit the max points people would just continue to get pushed down, but sometimes people get pushed back up.

The only answer I can come up with is that as people hit the max points the leaderboard just randomizes who is in the Top 10 to make everyone feel like a winner?

Glad to see CAGs up there, regardless of spot. I know I saw you at #1 Admiral, then I reload the page and I'm #1 but flame, who got max at about the same time as me, is #3. It just doesn't make sense :whistle2:s

I've noticed the same, but I'm mostly commenting to comment. Also I saw your question about the shades and I am pulling they're modeled after Zeke's.

I just comment and start conversations for the points. I don't even really pay attention to what I post half of the time :p

But if those aviators are modeled after Zeke's, then that is awesome.

I dont believe they are modeled after Zeke's lol, but that would rock. various Sony promoters have been giving away some aviators, but not a single one has posted a picture. I anticipate a lot of plastic and a PS3 logo on the sides. I just can't wait to break into Infamous 2 :p

Well they are only labeled as "PS3 aviators" so I would expect just some PS3 logos, but I would love them even more if they were inFAMOUS 2 aviators.

I just hope they're worth something 'cause I really have no use for 'em. I can't imagine sunglasses being worth more than a couple of bucks, though, so I'll just see if my brother-in-law wants them.

Holy shit. I only did a couple of week 3 challenges because I was taking my time doing them (since the first 2 weeks I had trouble getting my points and I want to see if it helped) and I forgot about them. If I get the full 330 this week I'll be at 1104. 3 points above the minimum. Can't believe my luck.

Does anyone know where you go on the site to see how many points you currently have? I found it once, but haven't been able to find it again.

Sweet! Completed all the challenges again this week! Can't wait to get my aviators.

Edit: Click on the "My Party" tab and scroll down. Past the leaderboards you'll see your score.

whats avitors?? do you mean avatar ? just trying to see what we get
whats avitors?? do you mean avatar ? just trying to see what we get
Aviator style sunglasses.
Thanks!
No problem, dawg.
Its the mid tier prize.
The top tier gets it too, IIRC.

So where are you guys seeing the new challenges because I sure don't?
The site seems to be acting wacky with me anyhow because when I try and post, I get tiny little font and then the site says that I cannot post an empty thread or something like that.

The new challenges aren't up yet. I haven't completed my points yet because I want the site to keep going and people completing the challenges before they're even up makes it easy for Sony to pull the plug because there's people sidestepping the challenges. I'm patient enough to wait to maintain the legitimacy and integrity of the site.

look all I know I go on to the site on monday around 11am everytime. I do what is asked of me (only thing that changes is the poll ?s really. and if you have the new polls y not go on and do the rest. the polls are 54 points. plus they didn't have a prob putting people back down to 330 when the site was giving people points early.

I'm not blaming anyone, it's there fault, I understand. I just feel weird doing nonexistent challenges. I'm not going to tell anyone how to feel. I'm doing my part to keep their site from pulling the plug on this. I like getting free stuff, that's just me. I've seen too many sites disable programs because of people abusing the system, I won't contribute to this one because long term everyone will feel bad if/when they stop giving us the cool prizes.

By the way, I did the polls, I answered a couple questions asked in the conversations. I got some points, but I read one commenter that said something like 'I like answering three questions in a row for my points', that's not cool, now that person is just flaunting it in their face how they gaming the system and taking advantage of HP's generosity.

If you look in the 'party favors' section, there is a PDF which outlines the challenges for the entire month. That's how people know what they're supposed to be doing before the new post goes up.
I had all new challenges when I logged on today. Not sure why some people didn't.
They logged on earlier than you.

The challenges for the whole month can been seen under the party favors section of the site, it is a pdf I think
EDIT: I guess I was too late haha
They logged on earlier than you.
I was up doing this at 8 AM central, though and their posts are from a good bit later.

Agreed. I wish they would crack down on the spam posting by removing the person. When I scroll through conversations and I see "I love HP" "I love PS" "I Love Sony" as three of the "blog" posts .... with the exact same phrase in the title as the post, it annoys me a bit.

I have yet to see those. Me, on the other hand, post intelligent topic threads. Sometimes even people comment on what I have posted. I know there are some people that are truly advocates of the site. I even follow their partner sites on twitter, and regularly talk to them. Can't say the same for everyone else...

I agree, but also disagree. It's a lot more annoying reading the same topic with similar content because they're challenges.

It's not like there's anything better to talk about. Their topic ideas are lame (Which PS3 hero would look prettiest in a red dress?) and every time you reload the page, all of the discussions have been pushed back several pages. They really need some kind of forum system. As is, the discussions there are just empty, shallow, and a little worthless.

And what about the discussions that dont pertain to people like me, when they had their topic of playing video games with the family. My family doesn't play video games.

And since no one decided to acknowledge my question I'll go ahead and answer it.

It DOESN'T say you HAVE To stay on the topics that are posted and post relevent discussions, so get off your high horse and out of your ivory tower, get your points and stop whining.

Oh come on... People want this program to continue. If it keeps going to July we could in theory get Twisted Metal and the new Ratchet and Clank all 4 one. People like Dyeknom just want to make sure Sony continues support. That's why I tell people to get off their ass and get max points. I dont think hes against people posting, but people posting bullshit. I saw some people post 3x the same thing or people posting completely worthless bullshit like "mmm Cake"

Yeah I want this program to continue too, but I'm not going to post more than a sentence if I don't have to either. Hell I sometimes don't post relevant things to the topics either.

There's not even any indication of any moderation on the site other than the link to notify support of inappropriate content.

I'd like the program to continue forever, if it ends oh well no more free stuff, not the first time some awesome free promotion ended but I guarantee it won't be the last promotion Sony ever does.

dykenom says he wants them to crack down on the spam because it "annoys him".

On topic: Is Infamous 2 still the free game they send? I can't complain about a free game but I didn't like Infamous 1 so I know I wont like 2.

On topic: So says Houseparty. Just sell it then... 2 is not much different than 1.

i have to say the ppl that post the same thing 2 or 3 times/ well that could be a bug i have to click on it 3 times b4 it will post and it will post 2 or 3 times and sum times it will just post one time
Oh come on... People want this program to continue.
I dunno, I think I'd rather have these prizes rolled into the REAL Playstation Rewards program that Sony was Beta-testing at the beginning of the year, instead of this website design clusterf*ck called House Party.

Ivory tower? Yes, it annoys me to see rampant "BS" spam of stupid comments like what was previously mentioned. "Mmm cake" really? HP rejected several people, many of whom who have posted in both HP threads, for this program who would have at least put forth some sort of effort in keeping with the program's theme. Do not get me wrong, I have absolutely no problem with one line posts as long as they are in line with the SPIRIT OF THE PROGRAM.

As a side note, there are a lot of people violating that particular one for their pictures. That being said, you're listing things that are prohibited across all of house party. As for where it "says" it must be on topic? I don't have any of the agreements or registration pages, but some things need not be explicit when people possess a thing called common sense. A period for a topic and the sentence "I liek tortlez" is just not acceptable (and yes, I've seen that post too), no matter how dense or difficult you want to be. Just because Sony will run a different promotion, doesn't mean idiots should intentionally kill off a relatively successful program because they 'can.'

Whether or not you feel the topics are "lame" and the program is "not worth your time" (as you have clearly stated on numerous occasions)... is a personal opinion. The discussions being empty or shallow is something that definitely needs to be addressed if the intention (which is what I gather) is to form a community. . The discussion quality could be infinitely improved if HP would make a few small changes: 1) Switch to message board format, 2) implement a community moderators (who can either be on a volunteer or psn card reward basis) 3) Make the the tasks all encompassing (the family theme, while admirable, alienated quite a few i think).... to name a few. The forum system was suggested at the end of last year, but they didn't pick up on it for some reason. It would make it so much easier for them to post a topic and see the replies than to sift through 6000 party talk posts to ensure there is no spamming. With the current system, the person could *probably* spam a message "free game kthx" three times a week and walk away with a top tier reward.
the program is "not worth your time" (as you have clearly stated on numerous occasions)...
I've never said that; I think the program is great. If it wasn't worth my time, I wouldn't be an active member who actually tries to put some thought into it. I even followed the challenge guidelines (take a picture with your family playing so-and-so, etc.) until I found out that's optional. I did say that MLB 11 wasn't worth the effort, but I have never once said that the reward program isn't worth my time.

Other than that, I agree with you. They are obviously trying to go for a community feeling, but they do nothing to support it. I've participated in a few private panels and they always provide us with a forum. Usually, the mods will start a couple of stickied discussions each week and people are able to have actual conversations thanks to the structure. And when we're encouraged to start our own discussions, people make more of an effort because they don't have to hunt down topics just so they can check for replies.

And yes, it's just my personal opinion that their topic ideas are lame, but I feel it is a valid opinion whether you agree or not. I just feel that the topics are no more than pointless small talk and they often don't leave room for in-depth responses. I think they need to flesh out the topics just a bit more so that even if they're still lame, they at least have some substance. It would also be great if someone would actually get involved with the "community" to help move discussions along. Of course, most of what I've said in this little paragraph wouldn't even matter if they would just set up an actual forum instead of using the old bulletin board system.

If you think the stuff they have us do for prizes is 'lame' or 'dumb', don't do it, withdraw from the program and call it a day. It's easy and it's not more than a few minutes of your time a week. All those of us who want them to not torpedo this project want from our fellow users is for them to respect the program. We all know it won't last forever, but that day when we learn that the program is over will be a sad day and we'll look back at what we had and miss it. And that could very well be right before they would have announced PSVita's for two months worth of posting topics on House Party.

Let me also mention that they may be 'lame', but that's on them, not on us. If they want to work on the community then they can do that, but if we do what they would like us to do they can't fault us for that.
And reading you mentality annoyed me... Those topics I am sure would annoy ANYONE who got rejected. etc.

come on man you cant make people follow the rules and if the programs ends then it just ends. 9 times out of 10 if the game there giving away is a great game then we bought it already ...like infamous 2, we bought it or won it a long time ago

you cant controll people period

Oh my god, you're right! I'm going to delete my account and get rid of all of my free stuff because they don't have any decent topic ideas! Best idea ever!

Sarcasm aside, it doesn't really make sense to opt out of a program just because the optional conversation topics aren't particularly interesting. As I said before, I love the program; there are just some things that I wish they would change so it could be a more enjoyable experience (is it so bad that I want the place to improve?). It's a bit sad to think that people are only there because of the free stuff. With just a few changes, it could actually be a decent community.

We did? I never won a copy because I entered the subway contest legitimately, not with 100 accounts every day... and I didn't buy it because I've been rather broke... so where are you getting these statistics? Wikipedia? Your ass?

So on the HP page some comments read that the program was ending after this month. Can anybody legitimate or falsify that claim?

As far as I know there isn't a deadline on it, but nothing has been announced about this being the last month.
