PriceGrabber $5 Rebate Topic w/ Lists Of Eligible Games (Updated 3/2)

Yeah, until recently, they would always disappear the moment they hit 10. Now they seem to be able to get a little furthur.

On a seperate note, I'm having issues with their CS. My most recent batch I sent in (May), was sent at the end of May, per usual. However, 4 of the 5 show up as limit 5 per month, blah blah (and the other one is fine). I e-mailed them but got no response. A week later I e-mailed them again, no response. 5 days later, I used their contact us form and messaged them, again no response. Any one else having issues with them lately? At first I contributed it to being backed up (hence 3-4 months of checks going out at once), but now I'm thinking there's more to it.

Unfortunately (for you, good for me :D) I haven't had to deal with CS since March. At that time they were fairly responsive. They're not fast, but I didn't have to pester them.

Sent in my 5 today. First time I've sent them in before the last mail day of the month in quite a while.
just wondering, does this work on used games from amazon marketplance?
I would say yes... I have used Ebay receipts and EBGames receipts for used games.

Taken directly from the website:

Restrictions: Please read actual rebate form for more details and conditions. Does not apply towards refurbished, open box, white box, OEM and generic items.

I would classify a "used" game as "open box". Now that doesn't mean you can't get away with it, but I think it clearly violates their terms. The choice is up to you.

I'm not claiming that it won't work with used games. I'm sure in most instances, your store receipt isn't going to distinguish between "new" and "used", so it would be almost impossible for them to even tell the difference. I'm just saying that the rules spell it out pretty clearly, so claiming a rebate on a used game can probably be considered abuse of the program. I'm not going to lecture anyone on morality of the situation... just pointing out the facts.

I disagree with your "pretty clearly" assessment. Open box mean something other than "used" in my experience. It usually means the product has been opened for some reason (maybe the contents sold separately, maybe returned items). Usually different warranty and refund terms apply.

For example, from the newegg web site: Open Box items have been opened and touched and/or returned. Because they originate from different situations, they may or may not include accessories, documentation or retail packaging. Refurbishment is done by the manufacturer. Open Box products are warranted for only 15 days. We recommend that you try out your open box product immediately after receiving it.

I do not equate "used" with "open box". (Especially since they lump open box with refurbished, OEM, white box.)

"Open Box items have been opened and touched..."

Sounds like used fits that definition pretty well.

I'm not claiming they are equivalent terms. I would say that "used" can fall under the category of "open box", but the reverse might not necessarily be true. Just look at the subject of gutted games from GS/EB. I think it's appropriate to call a gutted game "open box", but GS employees still call it "new". Many CAGers would disagree however and call it "used." Either way, the item has been opened and touched.

Back on the original topic though, I think (in my opinion at least) that PriceGrabber's terms indicate that anything other than "sealed retail" is not applicable.

Finally sent my GHII bundle rebate out.

Glad to see there's one for the Wii Component cables I just picked up!

I saw that too and would definitely like to recoup some of the damn $35 I had to pay to Nintendo for them at launch. Problem is, while I am a total packrat for old games and receipts and manuals and boxes and everything, even I didn't save the stupid component cable box! If anyone can send me a digicam pic or scan of the UPC for that I'd appreciate it.

Shockingly, my May rebates were just approved... first time I can recall the previous month processing before the current month rebates were officially received.

Sorry it took me so long to get back in here. Right after I posted that message, our modem went out due to a severe thunderstorm. It was only today that our ISP finally got out here to swap a new one in!

Hope this helps!

Sorry if this has already been covered, but what's the average time it takes for them to at least show that they've received your submissions? I sent some off at the end of June (literally, the 29th I believe) and when I checked the link in the OP it doesn't pull up anything.

This is my first time doing this, so just not sure what to expect. :)

Argyle, just note that it can take WAY longer than that. From last month I have 3 showing from late June and 2 that aren't from about 3 days later. That is kind of frustrating, because it makes me think they missed/lost the 2. I'd feel better if NONE of them were showing at this point.

And of course if you contact them to ask they just tell you to wait up to 6-8 weeks for them to show up .

I just got emails for all five of mine that they were received, which is better than just getting four. I don't feel like cashing the lone $5 check I've got, but I will when I get the next 5.

Hi, would it work to submit something I bought off half.com? I could print out the confirmation email I got from them. Also do USED games work as well? Thanks.

Used games work, if you have receipts from them.

I don't know about half.com items. If they don't provide a receipt, I don't think they would count, but I do not know.

I sent off one for my 4000 Xbox points card, and one for my 12-month Live card just a couple days ago.

All the effort put into cataloguing rebates has been for naught, I guess. Magical Starsign just dropped out of eligibility, probably maxed out the 50 requests (only has three reviews).

I guess it's time to move on to the "get the 5 rebates you most need every month" plan, cause there's little rhyme or reason to what stays up and what doesn't (outside of popular new releases).

With new releases in mind, snatch up the Mario Strikers forms if you're planning on picking that up next week.

D'oh! It's up already? I'll grab that for sure.

Has anyone else not had some show up from last month on the rebate search? I sent in 3 towards the end of June and 2 not more than 4 days later and the 3 showed up a long time ago but there's no record of the two. I'll bug them again if everyone else has had their June submissions show up already. If not, I'll wait a bit.

My June submissions were also posted early July. Just sent out this month's submissions and already filled and everything August's stuff.

Sadly, a number of eligible games' bonus are no longer there. I really should grab those popular games earlier.
My June submissions were just approved yesterday, they're almost being quick about it recently.
Same here - for the ones they acknowleged receiving. It looks like I'm going to have to go through the CS resubmit deal on 2 of them though :bomb:...

I got notice my June checks were mailed out. Just sent in my Julys. I looked at what i had to send in for Aug and Sept. and i had more than 10 that expired 9/31....whoops.

I need to go back and check my emails and see how many they sent out. Last time I complained about this, they bitched me out and basically told me to STFU. Missing one showed up shortly thereafter.
Are there any new limits to this? I haven't done any since from when they first started doing the rebates.
Well, yeah, the big one - only 5 per month now.
Are there any new limits to this? I haven't done any since from when they first started doing the rebates.
5 per month is the only real change you need to worry about. That, and making sure you do your reviews before you mail them in.

I don't think it's because they were popular... I think Pricegrabber pulled a lot of rebates. I was tracking a bunch and now most of them don't have rebates. Enchanted Arms for the PS3, Bomberman DS, Burnout 3 PS2, FEAR PC, etc.

Hmmm.... I'll have to go through my list, as I had dozens that I was watching. I'll report back if the removal seems widespread. Nearly all the ones I was watching had low review counts as of just a few weeks ago so if they are gone it is 95% sure they were pulled prematurely.

Enchanted Arms PS3 may be gone because of the price drop (and thus a lot of people snagging the rebate - I know it was mentioned in other threads) - not sure about the others, but I think I was watching Bomberman DS too...

Either they're discontinuing product review bonuses for video games completely, or they're shortening the expiration periods for them (and they've all expired). I suspect it may be the first.

If you click on most any other category other than video games, you'll see a link for "rebates". Video games no longer has that listing. If you click on "rebates" under another category (i.e. electronics), you'll still see an option on the left for "video games rebates". Clicking on that link brings up a list of four items, and only one of those items (XBox 360 Wireless Controller w/ Wireless Gaming Receiver) actually offers a product review bonus.

Pricegrabber rebates may now be a thing of the past for CAGs. Hopefully they honor outstanding forms that haven't been submitted yet since I'm still sitting on four of them.

I think you need to look again. Enchanted Arms for PS3, Bomberman (both of them), and Burnout 3 for PS2 are all still there. Maybe it was a glitch when you were looking. I've seen that happen before and it panicked me at the time .

I'm tracking dozens (more like 50 probably - some I have and some I may buy soon) and not a SINGLE one is gone. Some have gotten a few more reviews - I'll snag the ones that I own that have had any significant activity for my next set in August.

CS_Mike - Same thing (a glitch), maybe? I see plenty of rebates still up there for games. Many many rebates, actually.

You guys had me all worried!

I see the rebates when the games are shown in a list for the applicable system only (searched on "Enchanted Arms" and then selected PS3 games and the rebate shows up next to the game in the list.) But if you click on the actual game or go directly to the game, the rebate does not show up. Weird.

How strange. Seems as if most, if not all, of the rebates that I had been eyeing before are still available if I search via that route. As long as that method stays available, I won't complain.

Ah, see, the first way is the only way I've ever looked. I just go to the system pages and look at all the games (in case something new pops up and is a hot item it is usually on the first page) and then search for specifics from there.
Where can I find the UPC number for some computer games and console games?
Google search it is one way. Checking on a site like Amazon would be another.
