PriceGrabber $5 Rebate Topic w/ Lists Of Eligible Games (Updated 3/2)

OK, I'm having a wierd problem. I don't get the rebate forms emailed to me any more, which is quite a pain as once they are gone you can't get them again to print. I always kept the emails and then printed them as I needed to do them (usually 3 months later). Now I have to copy and paste them into Word docs and save them. But I still get my submission acknowledgement emails and my email is the same as it always was. Anyone else have this happen?

I got my rebate form when I requested Mario.

While it's almost as much of a pain as what you're doing, it is possible to grab the bonus forms off the website via some URL trickery even if the link is gone.

I had to go back to them and print them to PDF to keep them in case I needed them in the future. Tried more than once, and nothing.

Man, PG royally screwed me.

I sent 5 in one form with all rebates, very easy so much that a child could follow everything I sent in.

7 show up on site, 2 duplicates.

All are in the Required Service Period; 5 are denied as having no UPC; 1 has no errors; 1 has one rebate per submission.

Time to contact these goons... hopefully they'll process it quickly without me sending everything over again. It's bad enough I'm waiting 2 months for processing, or by some off-chance, they'll accept fax re-submissions for their apparent incompetence. :wall::dunce:

As for PriceGrabber support, I KEEP POSTING THIS on like every page, but I'll repeat it again:

Go to the "Your Account" tab and click on the "Contact PriceGrabber Support" link at the bottom. Fill out the form with your issue. I've been getting 1-3 day turnaround in getting the rebate errors corrected that way.
Er, is this now gone? I don't see it on that page anymore.
Er, is this now gone? I don't see it on that page anymore.
Nope. Just checked - it still says "Contact PriceGrabber at PriceGrabber Support" (with a link) at the bottom of the "Your Account" page.

Shrike, I wonder if they are cutting off us "frequent reviewers" in a subtle way by not sending us the forms?

On the "Your Account" page, I see Account Options, Reviews & Feedback, and Shopping Tools sections in the middle of the page; no such link on the left side with the grey back area; and the purple bar at the bottom doesn't have it at all (just About Us through Help). It's absent from that page in my profile, in Firefox and IE. :whistle2:s

I found the link under Help --> Product Review Bonus Program, though, so I'm using that.

Hopefully I'll get a somewhat fast turnaround...

My account looks somewhat similar but still noticably different.

Above is where I found the Contact Button under Help -> Bonus Programs.

It's kind of strange how we have different screens for PG.

I think I figured it out. You are going through regular pricegrabber. I have always, since the very first day I found out about PG on this site, gone throught a link someone posted directly to the PSP rebates (which at the time were the hot new thing) that I just added to my favorites list:

http://cheapassgamer.pricegrabber.com/search_attrib.php/page_id=1936

Note that this has the cheapassgamer (affiliate, I guess?) deal on the front. For some reason this makes the account pages look slightly different. I couldn't even find "Your Account" at first on the regular page (which looks like yours) because it is an acutal button - I'm used to the text link.

Maybe this also explains why I never had an issue with the rebates disappearing a few months ago that everyone else was having. They still appeared the same to me - on the pages like that one for each system.

Wait, do I have to send them an e-mail since I moved?
My address is different and I just sent out some rebates for November.
I filled the forms out with my new address..but on the site I don't see where to change my address? It said I didn't have an address on file? (LOL?)

Post office will forward your mails if you file a change of address with them.

WARNING: It appears PG may have shortened up the time between the rebate request date and postmark date by a month. Either that or they are screwing up right now. I requested a form well after midnight on Dec 1st and it says Dec 1st was the request date. However, it still shows Feb 29, 2008 as the postmark date for the submission. This is the same as my 5 November rebate requests. Since I have a full slate (5 every month due between now and Feb) that means this one will be invalid. I've never had a problem getting them right after midnight on the 1st of the month before.

If anyone else requests any please let me know what the postmark dates say. It is possible it is just a glitch and they will fix it (and hopefully a re-download will show the corrected date if it is generated on the fly). It could be a leap year thing too ;). Maybe it will work OK on the 2nd.

If NOT, then they may have shortened the time and that means I'd have to hold off more form downloads until January. I just wanted to give you guys a heads up so you don't download a bunch with the earlier date - test it first.

I am also continuing to NOT get the rebate forms emailed to me after I request them.

Wow, I never knew it showed you the postmark date on the little popup window before you commit to downloading the form! If I had seen that before I could have avoided getting that form earlier. I tried another one and still see Feb 29th on there. When using PG itself (as opposed to cheapassgamer.pricegrabber.com) I can actually see the text on the popup window! With the CAG background it is pretty much unreadable so in the 2+ years I've been doing this I never realized it had that info. Wierd...

Should have looked her first. Just downloaded my first 4 then saw that the postmarks are for Feb which were the same for my last downloaded set. So now I have 9 that have postmark due dates of 2/29/08. Keep us posted IO.

BTW:

- the 4 forms did get to me by email.

- they "misplaced" 4 of 5 submissions from Oct and are supposedly reprocessing them. Hard to tell because the response was really poorly written.

- My Nov submittals all showed up within 10 days of mailing. go figure.

Interesting, I had 4 of 5 October submissions get lost as well, I have to email them. (only 1 is showing up in the status) Maybe some enterprising employees are lightening their workload a bit? I put a huge note on the front of my November submissions "FIVE REBATES ENCLOSED". We'll see what happens.

Happened to me before. Turned out that whoever entered mine into the system under a mispelled name. All rebates were from the same envelope and yet they came under (slightly) different names. Go figure.

Email correspondence with Pricegrabber.com:
To whom it may concern,

I have verified my email address in my Pricegrabber.com account and there have been no changes to my email address. It is the same email address I am writing this message from, [email protected] .

My email server has no reason to block email forms coming from Pricegrabber.com , as I receive other emails from Pricegrabber.com without any issue, including your reply to my original email. I have tried re-requesting a past rebate form, as well as a new rebate form, and they both are not emailed to my email address.

I know other people have issues with the rebate forms not being emailed to them, so this is not limited to just me. I will make sure to let everyone I know email Pricegrabber.com support if they are not receiving any emails of the rebate forms. I will try a different email address for my Pricegrabber.com account, and let you know of any success or failure with this change.

No reply has been given to the change of timeframe for the rebate forms for being sent in for processing. To re-state the problem, rebate forms requested in November show a last mail-in date of 02/28/08. Rebate forms requested in December show a last mail-in date of 02/28/08, which is a month less time than the prior timeframe of the end of three months after the form was requested. Has this now changed in December and now the timeframe is to the end of two months after the date of request of the rebate form?

Dear Shrike4242,

There has been no change in the request and email process for sending forms. You should receive the form within a few minutes of downloading the form. Please verify your email address in your account settings:
https://www.pricegrabber.com/account.php/settings/

Your own email server may have blocked our form that was sent. Please verify your email settings and junk settings. If you are still having problems receiving the forms, it is recommended that you change the email address where you receive your rebate forms in your PriceGrabber account information page.

Thank you,

To whom it may concern,

For rebate requests placed last month, there was no form being emailed with clicking on the Request link. The form would come up in the pop-up window, though no form was being emailed to my email address on file.

Is this a change in the process that is no longer emailing rebate forms upon request, or is there an issue that needs to be checked and fixed? Clarification of the above situation would be appreciated.

Responses to my emails:
Dear Shrike4242,

PriceGrabber is going through a transition with our rebate program. During this transition period we will temporarily be only accepting rebate forms until the end of February 2008. Once we have completed the changes and updates with our program, we will return to our normal processing time frame. Please note that you are only allowed to send 5 forms per a person per a 30 day period even though you may have downloaded more forms this month.

So far, you are the only person that has complained about this issue. We recommend that you add [email protected] and [email protected] to your email contact address book.

Thank you,

PriceGrabber Rebates

Dear Shrike4242,

We would also like to mention that a rebate form is only sent once during the initial time the form is downloaded. Therefore, if you redownload the form for a second time, it is not re-emailed again. Please print the form directly from the website if you are re-downloading a form.

Thanks, Shrike. I will send a note to them about both issues as well so you aren't alone ;).

What is it with this "transition" BS though? Just get it over with already. SO now it looks like it will be Feb 28 for everything. It would have been OK (though annoying) to skip a month but it looks like we won't even get March due dates for ones requested in January now. :bomb:

Nice. Went to write a review for Tales of the Abyss PS2 and game doesn't show up in search results.

Had to get clever and take another ps2 games URL and substitute the ID for Tales from the form into the link to get to the game.

They might eliminate the $5 bonus altogether - my speculation but you never know... In that scenario, expect to see a drastic drop in reviews regarding video game accessories and media to be posted on PG.

I sent in a question to PG via the support link and it took them over a week to respond. .

"For the month of September, I sent in 5 product reviews. They weren't posted until 11/19, and somehow 7 product reviews were listed on my rebate inquiry.

...

I'm not sure how my UPCs were discarded, but I included all the required documentation with the mailing. All 5 reviews were included with a printout of the UPC and receipt of each game on a separate page, stapled to the bonus offer of that game. ..."

PG's reply:

"Thank you for your inquiry. The scans of your submissions did not include the UPC. Please send a copy of the UPCs to [email protected].

Thank you,

PriceGrabber Rebates"

:bomb: I'm not so sure jumping through so many hoops for what should be a simple and well-learned practice for PG is worth the $5 per title anymore. I hope my resubmissions do not count for December now, but I won't learn that until February or March.

SM Galaxay
Trauma Center New Blood
Crysis PC
CoD4 PC

I was thinking the same thing, that maybe they are going to stop doing the $5 review rebates. This new place (El Paso, TX) is horrible and I'm thinking they might even be looking for a new place to process the rebates at already hence the reply they gave shrike4242.

I feel the same way about PG rebates as you as they take a week or longer to respond to me also and seem to royally screw up my rebates every month now. I've also been thinking that it's a lot of trouble just to get these rebates sent out then fixed and is really too much trouble or barely worth it at best.

When they replied to me I found out that my rebates post marked for September were considered October to them and so on which I'm thinking could be a part of the reason that they were somehow messing up so many rebates from me, along with the possibility that they might be counting CS resubmissions as being more rebates putting me over 5 limit when it shouldn't be considered so. I replied back to them last Tuesday and havn't heard back from them yet! Although it was kind of strange how when I replied back though PG it had a tracking number of zero so I'm not even sure if it went though to them. At least I was ready for such a problem as I saved the reply I sent to them so that if I have to send it to them again I can just copy and paste with only some minor changes to be made instead of starting from scatch as putting together the info on what rebates need to be fixed that they screwed up for 5-10 rebates in itself is quite the chore along with doing up an e-mail to them about it.

I still have 18 things I need to request rebates for currently but I'm kind of glad that I won't be going though the trouble this month with as bad as they have been lately as it's become a bigger PITA with keeping up with them after they screw up on processing the rebates so taking a month off from doing reviews and getting everything ready to send in to them isn't bothering me too much :D

As long as people don't flood her inbox, I'll recommend once again that if you have issues with rebates, just go directly to [email protected]. I don't know for sure that anyone else deals with it, but I've never had any problems getting a quick response from her as opposed to the generic [email protected] email.

I just have a quick question since this is my first time using pricegrabber, do I need to mail the bonus form along with the rest of the stuff? Just wanted to make sure.

Update, the four from September with "Nothing" behind them they told me in the first reply that they were entered wrong and will will be fixed in a few weeks. I then replied back about also fixing Kirby And The Amazing Mirror and the four over the 5 limits from October and they said...

"Please allow 30 days from each batch of rebates mailed. We will honor your rebates. However, please wait at least 30 days to mail new rebate submissions."

I seem to remember a CAG (Shrike4242 IIRC) mentioning the idea of sending out 5 at the end of a month then 5 more early the next month although I can't remember if he ever got around to trying it and how it went for him if he did.

I shipped out one set of rebates at the end of a month and shipped out the next set about two weeks later. Didn't cause any issues, from what I remember, though I'd have to go back and look at what rebates they were. There have been so many CS resubmits on my rebate history that it's comical, and that'll make it hard to find which ones are which.

I now have my first case of having to resubmit two forms because the "rebate center has not received the additional submissions". Ugh... And of course it had to be for 2 games I don't have any more (traded them in). Also, because it wastes enough paper and ink (costing untold $$ on my Officejet) to make all the original copies, I don't generally make duplicates of everything I send in.

Does anyone have StrangleHold: Collector's Edition PS3 and Super Mario Galaxy Wii Bonus URL? So far I have 3 out of 5 rebates and I need 2 more rebates to fill up the $25 check. I have succesfully completed my 5 rebates before and got the r$25 check in less than a month!

ditto that. I'm just trying to think about what to do next. I'm not crazy about faking (using other family's) addresses. I don't want to have to bug them if they got the checks or not.

At this point we don't want them adding anything new if we can't request more forms ;). The only good thing about the lull here is that at least nearly all of the year's big releases are already out. I was able to snag SMG and Mass Effect with my last 2 availabe slots. There aren't a bunch of new releases whose rebate forms will disappear fast coming out between now and late Jan so hopefully I won't miss much.

I also like you IO tend to save a spot or two every month just incase and used one of mine for Super Mario Galaxy :)

I resubmitted 8 scans to [email protected] (4 scans of the original submission pages and 4 scans of UPCs) so that my September submission should be unquestionable now.

I'm wondering if I should do some for December or if they'll screw those up too...

what was the website to check the rebate inquiry again? I got an email about 5 of them being processed last month but still have yet to receive any checks

What the hell is up with these morons?

I sent in my scanned forms and was told they'd be approved.

Sure enough, new rebates show up on the site with new non-compliance forms mailed out on 12/18!

IDIOTS! fuck Pricegrabber.

The one rebate they didn't screw up for me has a received date of 11/01/2007 yet it is still stuck in step 3 and hasn't been mailed out although they were sure to send out all of the post cards for the ones they rejected a few weeks ago.

If PG stays this bad I'd say it would be better just to scrap the whole review rebate program.

My Nov posted pretty quickly. Sent 11/13, it posted a couple weeks later.

Two things are still in limbo. I didn't post one review, then posted and they're in the middle of reprocessing. Been a couple weeks and status hasn't changed.

They "lost" 4 of my Oct submittals and they still haven't processed them. I need to ping them again...it's probably been another 3 weeks now.

They're sucking bad now. I'm just going to keep going until Feb and see how it goes.
