If you like fantasy steam punk settings with historical/literary figures and a female protaganist who isn't quite super weak and stands in the back while the men do the work, with some decent storytelling and mystery, just do it. It's pretty fun, the graphics are good, and the characters aren't bad.
With you and I know Vig liked the game so I guess that's quite enough of a verdict. Thanks!

I mean the boys are gorgeous so take that for what you will
 I play the Miku games for the music. I swear!!

Any opinions on Summon Night 5? Hankering for an RPG/SRPG, and I'm gonna be doing a lot of travel over the next 2 weeks. Between that and Stella Glow for me

From playing the Japanese version, it's easily the worst game in the Summon Night series, and not even a good game on its own merits. Stella Glow is far, far better.

Jeesh that bad? I havent played any of the other Summon Night games other than the Swordcraft ones, and one of the ones on DS (It was a weird tactics game or something)

I second Stella Glow recommendation. Also helps the game is challenging plus cute as a button witches. I'm very close to the end. Only major negative other than sometimes cramped battlefields is the limitation of actions for your first playthrough. It's really an artificial increase to game length (if you do a second playthrough) and is a terrible decision IMHO. You have to really choose just a few people to get close to and pretty much jobs/looking for items shouldn't be done later in the game cause the actions are generally for party members IMHO. Still a fun good game. I love Popo too...so cute!

Was just coming here to post something similar...

So this morning my Lost Dimension shipment FINALLY shows up on tracking and says "out for delivery"

About time.

I get home and there is 3 packages on my doorstep. :whistle2:k

I know Lost Dimension is one.. And some Vita game cases are in one.. WTF is the 3rd?

Do I tell Amazon?
Do "return" the order? (And keep one)
Do I sell one to someone who missed out?

I verified I was only charged once... They just sent the game twice.
Lucky! The last time Amazon made a mistake, I received a pair of infant-size, hot pink Crocs along with my new Kindle charger.

Going to be buying my first Vita in the next couple of days and have been leaning towards buying a used/refurbished on from GameStop because I have credit there. Any reason to get a new one instead?

Also does the Vita have any internal memory at all for storing game saves? I don't plan on buying digital at all and don't really want to spend an arm and a leg for a memory card.
I went new with my Vita from GameStop because I wanted a colored Vita for the matte finish. And, a new blue one was just $20 more than used ones when I bought it.

If you go used, just make sure you test the crap out of it for the first few days.

I really have no idea what I play them for? I don't find Miku and company particularly charming, the music's OK but nothing I would listen to on it's own... so really I just get off on pressing buttons to a prompt.
Lol. I liked some of the songs that have well-structured melodies to them. A lot of the ones in Mirai (where your avatar comes from) were puzzling to me since a lot of the tunes were kinda wonky and not the best flowing. I thought Diva F had better flowing ones so it's easier to "slip into the beat," in which you can anticipate when to hit the buttons and all you really need to watch out for is what button to hit.

Probably my fave in Mirai is "Senbonzakura..." I took on Hard touch mode without a hitch first time. Just don't look up the translations; it's crazy depressing for such an upbeat tune. In fact a lot of the Miku music is depressing.

There was one ..."Tricolore Airline" or something like that...didn't look it up but I kinda was falling asleep to the music and fubared normal...lol.

Oh I remember long before the game came out that they were like no subtitles on the music because some of it is not PG. I think On the Rocks in particular was cited for that.

Unless you're getting it in the b2g1 preowned deals, it'd probably be better to check cowboom/craigslist/ebay if you want a used vita. You can probably get one for <$100 that way. Save that gamestop credit to buy the actual games.

I personally don't like buying used consoles. Too much risk. Dead battery, dead pixels, chipped screen, wobbly sticks, sticky buttons. Who knows where the previous owner took the system. I bring mine into the bathroom all the time.

Like the others said, the 2000 has 1gb internal but it's gonna be a tight fit. Freedom Wars had a 130~mb patch. I'm not sure what else. There are also a ton of games that get digital only releases. The new Digimon, FFX-2, Atelier games, among others. Also PSN sales are pretty decent sometimes so you might be tempted. Compile Heart titles for $3-$10, and some good jrpgs for <$20. Even new releases have gotten sales pretty fast.

The 16 GB preowned was on sale from gamestop for $20 earlier in the month.
They were new, not preowned.

Wait, the new digimon is going to be digital only?

I'm pretty sure this is just a PM to GameStop. GameStop has had it at this price for months now and every few weeks Amazon price matches it.
Ahh, I never shop at GameStop. Just had the game on my vita wish list and never see it drop. (Or I miss it) I figured with some of the other odd prices with vita games that it was next on the list.

Well, my Trails of Cold Steel finally arrived today; just a day and a half after Amazon finally started processing a refund for me.  I refused shipment, and now get to watch my account like a hawk for the next month to make sure they don't screw it up somehow.

Now to wait for my copy from Best Buy.

My Steins;Gate came in yesterday, mint.  I pretty much went from a middling Vita collection to a ton very quickly because of this thread.  DEALZ, YO!  Not much else I want because if it's on PC or PS3, I'd rather play it there.

Would like the Miku games on Vita for cross save goodness, but I can't buy them again at or close to full price.  Wish there were codes in the box that said "get the Vita version for discounted!"

I bought Lost Dimension on Vita a while ago, but since I can borrow the PS3 version from my library for free whenever I want, I can live with the former version's load times.

Yea most libraries now adays rent games from all the consoles and even blu Rays and more. Pretty much it a blockbuster with books also but without rental fees long as you have a card lol

A library is a place you can go to borrow media in a variety of forms run by a local government and housed in a large communal building.

Sounds like communism to me... and Blockbuster's former executives should totally sue.

Thanks for all the replies, everyone. Gonna be picking up a new Vita and a memory card when I get paid on Thursday. Already have a copy of Dancing All Night waiting to be played on it.

That reminds me I really should rent disgaea d2 from mine while they have it. Ironic that they have guided fate after I bought it in that flash sale.

psvita card wise amazon had the 16gb on sale for 20$ as well. Not sure if its still on sale or not though. Got mine from that and fit all of my digital vita games on there (all like 6 of them) Have plenty of room left happily so if I ever need to I can get more though outside digimon I don't think there are any titles digital only that I want that I don't already have on other systems. I think I own 10 or so vita games now haha. But hearts r prettymuch already justified the purchase for me so anything else is just a bonus I guess.

I hope this is okay to post/ask here. I've been interested in getting a Vita for a while. I've got a steadily growing backlog of Vita games thanks to PS+. But I've wanted there to be some kind of price drop on new ones (and especially the memory cards) since I'm really iffy about buying used Handheld systems.

Does anyone know if anywhere is having a sale on new Vitas?

I bought one ages ago, but I believe $150 was the "mucho bueno" price of the recent sales.  The PSTV, which can play Vita games, has been able to be picked up for $40~$50.  A lot of the games we've been humping each other's legs about can be played on it and is a good "would I like the games here?" test for cheaper.

The memory cards are the worst part, but welcome to Sony products.  You can make it "work" with a 4GB, but that's likely only a game or two.  An 8GB card is the barest entrance point, IMO.  Past that, the price get ludicrous for so little gain.  True Fans™ will say go big or go home, but a memory card 2/3rds the cost of the console is ludicrous.  The games can be all over the place for pricing, however the holiday was kind to us loonies and we got a lot of the newer titles for $20.

So basically, the Vita can be a handheld system or a home console with less fancy graphics/load times.  Major Sony support is likely going to be lacking to down right painful.   Most of the games for it are coming from Japan.  It's import friendly due to no region locks and many sites run deals on import games, too.

I don't know about GameStop used systems but I bought mine off ebay used and was pretty burned by doing so. The guy clearly just left it plugged in constantly so the thing only has an hour of battery life max.

I'm considering buying a vita slim just so I have a second system to play on. I'd always go new on consoles.

I've wondered about that.... how do you replace a battery on a vita? I dont see a cover like the PSP had. Im talking the original 1000 model. Is leaving something plugged in all the time bad? I dont do that with my vita but i do do that with my laptop.

ALso +1 to new for consoles. Its just gross buying used ones to me. Particularly handhelds. Especially when the price difference is so minor a places like GS

I looked up a guide back when I thought my Vita's battery was having problems, and you basically have to take it apart and then remove some wiring.

i don't know if it's just a myth or not but I know other people who got way more play out of their vita per charge than mine. I think the battery life was supposed to be 4-5 hours but mine barely lasts an hour so somthing degraded.

And yeah, I'm not sure what you'd do about replacing a battery. Probably would have to open the system up.

Also my system reaked of smoke for weeks after I got it and it wasn't listed in the lot I bought. You never know really what you're getting with used consoles imo

If you have a Meijer nearby, they've been on clearance for $150.

Turns out it's pretty easy to replace the battery. Or, at least, I thought it was easy. I used the ifixit guide at https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/PlayStation+Vita+Battery+Replacement/7990 to do the job. My Vita would need a charge every other day even when just sleeping prior to the swap, but now can go for a week or more between charges.

My XONiC and PersonaQ Wild Cards Edition showed up yesterday.  I'm glad they shipped in a box, everything looked perfect.  Now just my last two orders to show up and I think I'm done tracking & buying physical games for a while ...heck the whole year (minus my Fire Emblem Fates SE PreOrder) if I can resist!   My order with Steins:Gate says it'll be here on Tuesday, but my order with Code:Realize says it hasn't shipped but that it'll be here between Tuesday and next Friday.  Hopefully mine got in early enough (I bought C:R at $22.00 while the price was still dropping) that I won't be pushed off a few weeks.

Any chance of dungeon travelers 2 ever going lower in price than BB GCU? Want the game, but in no hurry to get it..should I be? Is it rare-ish?
