Me (1/30/2016, 6:30:47 PM): hello, my PSvita can't get into the PSN store
Me (1/30/2016, 6:31:13 PM): since the last update, both my PSTV and PSVita can no longer get access.

Marlon (1/30/2016, 6:33:52 PM): Thank you so much for the information, I really appreciate it. Just to make sure may I know if, are you getting a message or error code when you try to access to the PS Store?
Me (1/30/2016, 6:34:41 PM): no error code, just an endless now loading (circle thing) and it keeps going for over 20min
Me (1/30/2016, 6:35:37 PM): "please wait..."
Me (1/30/2016, 6:35:43 PM): is what it says
Me (1/30/2016, 6:36:52 PM): I have to keep tapping the screen to keep it from going to sleep mode. just an endless loop...
Marlon (1/30/2016, 6:37:31 PM): Thank you so much for the information, may I know for how long have you been having this issue?
Me (1/30/2016, 6:37:58 PM): Trophies can update between my Vita and PSTV, but the store won't work on either of the systems
Me (1/30/2016, 6:39:00 PM): since the latest update. (one week ago when I updated the VITA and 4 days ago when I updated the PSTV)
Me (1/30/2016, 6:39:40 PM): I used my PC to make the last few purchases.
Marlon (1/30/2016, 6:40:59 PM): I see, in this case in order to check the connectivity, I will need you to run the internet test connection either in the PS Vita or PS TV, and let me know the results, please.
Me (1/30/2016, 6:41:10 PM): ok.
Me (1/30/2016, 6:42:12 PM): what parts do you want to know... the whole list?
Marlon (1/30/2016, 6:42:40 PM): Yes, please all the details of the test.
Me (1/30/2016, 6:43:20 PM): Name: -REDACTED-  SSID: -REDACTED- Obtain IP address: Successful
Me (1/30/2016, 6:45:05 PM): Internet Connection: Successful PSN Sign-In: Successful NAT Type: Type 2 Connection speed (D) 12.4Mbs Cspeed (Up) 6.1
Marlon (1/30/2016, 6:47:46 PM): Thank you so much for the information, now in order to get this issue solved, please follow the steps below:
Go to Settings>Format>Restore Settings.
Me (1/30/2016, 6:48:29 PM): I'm there
Marlon (1/30/2016, 6:49:55 PM): Perfect! Now select that option and then re set up the internet information.
Me (1/30/2016, 6:50:28 PM): this won't remove any save data. just the order of my icons and current theme, correct?
Marlon (1/30/2016, 6:51:37 PM): Regarding your concern, that option will unsync the account and your saved data will be safe.
Me (1/30/2016, 6:52:14 PM): ok. it reset.
Marlon (1/30/2016, 6:53:37 PM): Perfect! Now set up the internet settings again.
Me (1/30/2016, 6:53:41 PM): is there a was to skip the introduction movie?
Me (1/30/2016, 6:54:33 PM): never mind it ended
Marlon (1/30/2016, 6:55:04 PM): Alright! Now try to enter the network information and then try to access to the PS Store.
Me (1/30/2016, 6:55:26 PM): yep, I'm typing in the WPA2 key
Marlon (1/30/2016, 6:57:02 PM): Perfect!
Me (1/30/2016, 6:57:07 PM): on the internet connection test, PSN sign in FAILED
Me (1/30/2016, 6:57:21 PM): Oh I have to sign in again
Marlon (1/30/2016, 6:57:49 PM): Yes, please try to sign in to the PSN account and then test the internet connection.
Me (1/30/2016, 6:58:58 PM): Error NP 2238-5
Me (1/30/2016, 6:59:13 PM): (for store log in
Me (1/30/2016, 7:00:17 PM): odd, it's asking me to sign in again... and now it's back to Please wait...
Me (1/30/2016, 7:01:53 PM): still at please wait, no other error code has popped up
Marlon (1/30/2016, 7:02:53 PM): Thank you so much for the information, you provided me today, now just to make sure about the root of the connectivity issue, I suggest you to try to connect the PS Vita to a different network, and if the PS Vita connects successfully to the internet using that network, you might need to contact to your internet service provider in order to open the ports available for PlayStation.
Marlon (1/30/2016, 7:03:16 PM): These are the ports:
TCP: 80, 443, 3478, 3479, 3480
UDP: 3478, 3479
Marlon (1/30/2016, 7:04:28 PM): But if by any chance the issue persists even with the other network, please feel free to contact us back, we will be more than happy to assist you again.
Me (1/30/2016, 7:04:45 PM): there is no other local connection that I can try at this time
Me (1/30/2016, 7:05:25 PM): I have somehow toggled console... for the chat
Me (1/30/2016, 7:05:39 PM): And I can NO longer see your mesages
Me (1/30/2016, 7:06:31 PM): I can see what you have typed when I save chat...
Marlon (1/30/2016, 7:07:00 PM): Alright! In this case I suggest you to try to open the ports in order to get a reliable connection in the PS Vita since the new update was installed. And about the save chat option, all the conversation will be saved.
Me (1/30/2016, 7:07:08 PM): OK, so I'll test that out when I am next able to.
Me (1/30/2016, 7:07:54 PM): thank you Marlon for your time
Marlon (1/30/2016, 7:08:35 PM): Okay, and do not worry, because I hope the PS Vita connectivity works fine after forward the modem by opening the ports. You’re welcome, it was a pleasure for me to assist you today, before we end the interaction, may I know if besides this, is anything else I can assist you with today?
Me (1/30/2016, 7:10:14 PM): no thank you again

So complete failure as far as I see it. Marlon didn't even respond to the fact that I toggled console for the chat (and couldn't see anything that had been typed.). From that point on, the only way I could see what he/she was typing was to click "save chat" and open up the txt file!!

If it IS a port forwarding problem... wow that's so short sighted of Sony.

TL:DR

No help found, and now my vita icons are scrambled and all my folders are gone. I still can't access the store.

Announced Titles:

Cosmic Star Heroine

Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty!

The remaining ten titles LRG is signed on to publish are presently unknown to the public at this time.

I'm really just waiting for these two so I can play them.
I'm having a hard time believing there are ten upcoming Vita games we know nothing about. Didn't Sony kill the system?

So you're complaining to likely clueless support about a widespread problem from the latest firmware update?
yep, so when they hand out free games to all effected, I'll be able to collect.

But more importantly, I wanted to see where they would give up. lol (I half expected a "that problem is going to be fixed shortly" response)

EDIT: also I'm not certain if it REALLY is the port thingy. I'm not that tech savy, but yeah probably not the solution.

I sure hope the guys upstairs know about the firmware problem. They should have sent a memo to techsupport to expect these questions by now. inb4 sony's just sitting on their thumbs twiddling their fingers.

What?? LMAO Just stop
You need to talk to Count Von Count for a basic math lesson...
FIFA + MLB = 1 + 1 which say it with me 2. I only gave you the ones that made more than two releases.
NFL AND MMA are not some of the most valuable but have stayed at a higher price.
Your "joke"failed because you said get ALL of the sportd games and guess what?some sports games are the most valuable vita releases. They are some of the most valuable when you check prices.

you teased the dog and got bit.

They basically put the dog to sleep at this point, the only relases seem to be anime and shovelware flash quality games like smrpg and retro. No killzone, no gta, no call of duty. I really wish i bougt pstv instead, but crapstop doesnt even give enough trade in to make it worth it and im not dealing with fleabay.

I'm not really sure where to even begin on this one...

I don't have any faith in Sony. I see them the way most people see Nintendo.

They have just done so much wrong in this gen, particularly with the Vita. And they don't even give a fuck.

I'm just turning my Vita on and off for now since I can't let it sleep for more than one or two days.

Hopefully this recent version of the firmware will not be around for much longer. ~_~

I feel sad for your reading comprehension. LMK when someone at your house explains what I actually wrote in that post in simple terms for you.

------------

Does anyone know if the Japanese release of Attack on Titan will be a physical one?

I don't care for any of those series. The Vita has been propped up by a mountain of weird Japanese crap since it debuted, since Sony never supported it. That's what I like about the Vita.

Maybe you can make a quality post on your 38th try.

No shit. That applies to every console, especially for the Wii.

Im not talking about how valuable it is. I was alluding to the fact that if Call of Duty Vita was actually good, the Vita mightve gotten more FPS games.

I'm not really sure where to even begin on this one...

Nope. Apparently he's I Am The Cheapest Gamer. See this:

Im was on the best buy forum and read cheapestgamer's post. I was pissed at first but now i think hes courageous. At the risk of sounding unpopular he did the right thing. Yeah, i miss gstting 1c guides too but the truth is that it was an oversight we all took advantage of.
Cheapest is courageous? *sigh* Too obvious. And how would you miss getting pennied guides if you've only been here for a few weeks? Best Buy pulled the plug around the time I ended up joining. I was able to get a few guides here and there after finding out about it before a certain rat tattled on us.

He could've did it in secret by sending an e-mail, but he wasn't afraid and posted publicly on a forum. He might have took advantage (like all of us dids at one point, me included) but I'm happy he called attention to the loophole which was against the publisher's policy - like it or not.
What a load of crap.

Sucking doesn't stop games from being rare and valuable. Some of the rarest/most valuable games are actually quite bad.
Amen to that^

Normally, I've found "rare & valuable" are dictated by one of two different avenues. The first is a game sucked, no one bought, so qty's are very low in later gens(or no one even knew about it to begin with), and that sends the price up, or you have a game that comes out of nowhere, becomes super popular, and the LE/SE set's go way up due to popularity as very few where produced due to a new IP, or something similar.

Now there are many variations to those rules, but I have found them to be the most constant rule of thumb. Red Sea Crossing for the 2600 is one example, while Dead Space Ultra Edition would be another

So, you need to spend massive amounts of cash on games that I would rather stick forks in my eyes than sit through, just because they're rare, and they're only rare because when they came out everyone realized how awful they were and no one bought it.  Being a collector must suck.  Glad I'm just a regular hoarder.

I'm with ya, I have zero faith in PlayStation VR in light of how they've handled past hardware and add-ons. Outside of the main PlayStation console, they don't give a shit about supporting new rollouts. 3D, Vita, Move, PlayStation TV all hyped to hell and then dropped almost immediately.

There's little chance I'll be a Sony early-adopter ever again.

Hmmm, yes, you pretty much summed it up. But make no mistake, we're having a lot of fun building our collections.

This last one is not fully funded yet, but as there is a rather low pledge amount remaining for the Vita stretch goal to be met it is thus predicted it shall be met once BackKit for the campaign opens up three days from now.

Need. Final Fantasy, World of
Same here.

Picked up FF Explorers for 3DS, it's not bad... but not great either.

Fully charged Vita late last night, played an hour of Miracle Girls Festival, by 9 AM it was dead. Sigh.
Crossing fingers, knocking on wood, throwing salt.. My Vita isn't losing it's charge nearly as bad as others.

It *IS* draining faster.. Charged it 2 days ago, and it's still showing about 80%. Normally I can go damn near a week before it even drops any charge. (have not played the Vita at all due to the drain issue, waiting it out a little)

How do we avoid upgrading?  Just don't go online?  I just bought a Vita a few months back.  I haven't updated yet... do they force you to do it?

On mine the update downloaded automatically (ps+ feature?). You don't have to update unless you click on it and follow the prompts. You can't visit the store without updating though. To be fair, people on 3.57 are having trouble accessing the store anyway :p

I'll be honest my vita is still in the low 3's (I think it's 3.15 or something along those lines). Don't get me wrong it's not like I'm using it for homebrew and whatnot but since I got the vita TV I'd much rather play a game on a 60 inch TV versus a 6 inch screen. If its not compatible and it requires a system update then I simply put it back on the shelf and move on. Come to think of it I might go back to the vita tomorrow, who knows maybe even play some freedom wars too

I haven't had any problems with my update. Actually, I accidentally left my ssystem in sleep mode with wifi on for about two days, and the battery was still full.

I had the battery problem before that update that made everyone else have it. I thought something was wrong with my Vita, but the newest update that broke it for everyone else seemed to fix mine.
