I wonder what kind of games they will do for the Vita? When I check the store on my Vita there's not that huge of a selection. I'm thinking they will probably do PSP games.

Is there any way to purchase Vita content through the PS3 store or a PC? I don't have a Vita, but will likely get one once the price drops (even if it's a few years down the road). I'd really like to grab any free Vita content Plus gets however.

Yes, you can buy Vita games/content on the PS3 and then transfer them over. I've seen Vita content on the PS3's store.

Wish I could get more excited for PS+ on Vita, but because I use my main account on my Vita, which is my sub account, I can't get PS+ content on it since it only works on my master account....

& it looks like PSN is gonna be getting a new look next month as well. Long as I stop getting those random freezes in the store that prevent me from selecting stuff for 5 to 30 seconds, I'm for it.
Nice. This might result in me actually buying a Vita at some point, something I thought I'd never do. Honestly, It'll still take a few years of library expansion before I'll consider it, but the prospect of receiving free games every month certainly adds a lot of value.
I'm just hoping they add 1 or 2 Vita titles to the Instant Game Collection without taking away any PSN/PS3 titles.

Agreed. I have a feeling that PS+ adding Vita support is going to be bad news for people with just a PS3. I am expecting a similar amount of free/discounted content but now divided among two systems. Hope this isn't the case because I don't see myself getting a Vita anytime soon. It needs a much larger game library and a price drop.

That's exactly what I fear will happen too, but I hope it doesn't.

And ditto on getting a Vita. I think I'll probably get one eventually, after a price drop or nice bundle comes out, and having a couple free games linked to my PS+ account will be nice when I decide to get one, but that's still quite a ways off, if ever.

Sweet, thanks! I kind of thought you could, but had never really checked.

this!

I didn't see any mention here, is anyone else shockingly disappointed with the Resident Evil 6 demo?? I'm not talking about changing to an even more action-y tone, but how awful it was to control. Weapons feel weak, I would constantly hop over a wall instead of taking cover behind it, and it looked pretty ugly. I have preordered and bought all main entries in the series day 1 but I am definitely going to have to wait for reviews to see if this stuff got fixed for the main release.
Now I'm hesitant on purchasing anymore Vita games (other than Persona 4 Golden) since it's getting it's own Instant Game Collection.
Same here. P4G is probably going to be the last physical purchase I make for my Vita for the rest of the year. I think I'm also going to wait on getting JSR when it heads to Vita next month. I can already envision it as part of the collection.
I blogged about that very perspective a few weeks back:

http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/blog.php?b=24499

I'm thinking about Rayman, Escape Plan and perhaps Ninja Gaiden as instant game library games.
Ninja Gaiden would be great. I don't mind all the ports coming to the Vita because most of the ports I never really got a chance to play, like the Ninja Gaiden series for instance. They also announced Ninja Gaiden 2 would be coming to Vita as well. http://kotaku.com/5944480/

I wouldn't be surprised if it was one of the launch titles, like Escape Plan or Little Deviants. Still, really annoys me sub accounts can't take advantage of PS+ perks, just the master account, but glad to hear there'll be some good benefits right at the start.
Oh snap, Zone of the Enders HD Collection has been given an Oct. 30th release date and will include a free Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance demo
Only the disc version, though. & while the news of the MGR demo has been known for some time, I'm just glad there's FINALLY a release date on ZoE HD.
That's why I'm waiting to buy digital games for my Vita. Hoping for free Escape Plan even though I heard mix reviews.

What didn't you like about the game KneeKnee?
Its clunky, boring, and you constantly have to reposition your hands to use the controls. You hold the Vita with 2 fingers from each hand and use your thumbs. You constantly have to change the way you're holding the system to touch the front of the screen, then the back, then R then the touch screen. Its cumbersome to play.

A lot of the levels you can place the system on a flat surface and just play with swipes, but later on you have to use the rear touch pad and it requires you to be far to accurate - considering you cant see where you're touching.

The Vita touch screen is perfect for games like Plants Vs Zombies, but when you need precision combined with speed, it becomes frustrating.

Ya, I saw IGN report this. I thought this was all already known. Newegg (where I pre-ordered it) has had scheduled for late October for quite some time.

Also, Muramasa: The Demon Blade port is coming to Vita. I've been hoping for the last 2+ years that the Muramasa HD port rumors were true. Well I guess they are, but for a system I don't have. I guess I should have just picked up the Wii version ages ago...

The details on PS+ coming to Vita:

We announced back at Gamescom that PlayStation Plus would be coming to PlayStation Vita (PS Vita), and today we’re pleased to announce that our premium game membership will make its debut on PS Vita in November, providing an Instant Game Collection to PS Vita owners along with the same features that many of you already enjoy for PlayStation 3 (PS3).

If you’re already a PlayStation Plus member on PS3, you’re in luck—you will automatically be able to also enjoy all the PlayStation Plus features for your PS Vita at no extra cost.

PlayStation Plus features for PS Vita available in November will include:
 • Instant Game Collection: Unlimited access to a regularly refreshed selection of the full versions of games as long as your membership is active.
 • Discounts: Take advantage of exclusive discounts on games and DLC for your PS Vita.
 • Online Game Storage: An additional 1GB of online storage for game saves for PS Vita games and downloaded content.
 • Automatic Updates: PS Vita will automatically start up at a designated time to download and install select game demos and game updates as well as system software updates and start standby mode upon completion.
 • Automatic Trophy sync: Trophy information will be synched to PSN servers automatically via the PS Vita.

If you don’t yet own a PS Vita, there has never been a better time to invest in the most powerful portable entertainment system. In addition to the Instant Game Collection you will be able to tap into through PlayStation Plus, PS Vita also has an arsenal of great and innovative games, like the recent hit Sound Shapes, not to mention some of the hottest upcoming titles like Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation, Call of Duty: Black Ops: Declassified and LittleBigPlanet PS Vita.

So tell us–What PlayStation Plus feature are you most looking forward to taking advantage of on your PS Vita?

Cannot wait to see the upgraded graphics (they were just begging to be in higher quality) & new content.

As for Capcom Vs. SNK 2 on PS2 Classics, I wonder if this means we'll see it on the US PSN soon.

Ok I can understand the rear touch pad being a problem. I figure it will be a free game in the collection so I will still check it out. Thanks for the heads up.

I can see Sony making the instant game collection a mix of Vita and PS1 games.

Got an email announcing the release date of Okami HD:
Hailed as one of the most beautiful games ever created, we’re pleased to confirm that Okami HD will be releasing in North America on October 30 for PlayStation Network.

Come on 50% day 1 discount for PS+, a la RE4 and RE:CV! :)

Will probably pick it up at full price anyway, but discounts are always nice.

I'm hoping for some RE4/CV discounts or as plus freebies for October since RE6 is coming out.

Anyone see this happening at all?

I am hoping for that and Resident Evil PSONE also. I missed them last year because I didn't find a job until after the sale.

Hope not, they've both been on sale at least twice.

It's hard to imagine Capcom participating in PS+ freebies. They don't really go for deep discounts. Even their sales are lackluster.

This. Getting it day 1 regardless, but a PS+ discount would be even better.

Dammit, why isn't it the end of October yet...

I've been waiting for this forever . Maybe I will clear some backlog before it comes out. I never got to finish it cuz I sold my ps2 in order to be able to help pay for my 1st HDTV. Thanks for the update, Frisky!
Starhawk coming to PSN next week in three different ways.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/09/20/starhawk-now-on-the-playstation-store/

Nice to see them give PSN+ the single player campaign for free, which I will probably try out. :bouncy:

Also, nice to see them to offer multiplayer at a cheaper price for the people wanting it. Hopefully, we will see more of this type of offering from other games down the road.
Starhawk has a single player campaign? I didn't know that, is it any good? I'll gladly check it out for free. Glad we're getting the single player campaign for free rather than the multiplayer portion. :)
Wow, the guy who didn't count Double Dragon Neon as a PS+ freebie because it expires in January was actually right.
Right about what? It doesn't matter when it expires, it matters when it's offered.
Right about what? It doesn't matter when it expires, it matters when it's offered.
This. I wouldn't call him "right" as much as I'd call it "we're getting an extra game this month".

Wasn't that hard of a call. Plus has done this before.
i wish they made a new trophy list with only the story without mp trophies ha
Yeah, I definitely wouldn't mind that, haha, I could also justify the download as I don't download any retail games, but this would be different than the retail version.

Awww, according to the comments, they share the same trophy list as the retail version, so both the single and MP versions are parts to the whole.
