I'd like to welcome SaySwap as the latest member of the CAG affiliate family. Sure, we've got a trading forum right here on CAG, but if you don't mind laying out a few bucks for a trading platform with a lot more features that still maintains a sense of community, you may want to give SaySwap a chance.

Don't forget, every dollar spent puts me closer to retirement!

This thread serves a general discussion point for SaySwap. I'm sure the SaySwap team will appreciate your feedback.

How does it work?

Why Swap Games?

We have created is a web platform that enables Gamers to get video games for a combination of Purchase Points and Trading Tokens. Any games that you get are owned by you. You can keep them, or at some point send them to another gamer for new Purchase Points so you can get another game.
Most Gamers have many video games that they own but no longer play, and many games that they would like to play but do not own. We help you to get rid of the games you no longer want in exchange for receiving Purchase Points. You can get new games by transferring Purchase Points to the Gamer sending their used videogame to you. You may never have to buy a game again. You will also need to purchase a Trading Token from us to make a trade.

What are Purchase Points?

30 Purchase Points FREE to help you get started – that's a $30.00 value.

You need Purchase Points to get a game. Games require 10, 20 or 30 Purchase Points to get. You receive Purchase Points every time you mail a game. You might think of Purchase Points as a form of money. The Purchase Points value for every game has been set by us based on the current suggested retail price (SRP). The transfer of Purchase Points is made automatically between Gamers by us when you get a game or mail a game.

Here is how we determine game Purchase Point values.
 • SRP of $40 or greater – 30 points
 • SRP of $ 20-$39.99 – 20 points
 • SRP of $19.99 or less and those games with no current SRP – 10 points.
If you need additional Purchase Points you may buy those directly from us for $1.00 per point. When you initially authenticate your registration, we will automatically give you: 30 Purchase Points FREE to help you get started – that's a $30.00 value.

What are Trading Tokens?

You need one Trading Tokens for each game you want to get. You may purchase Trading Tokens directly from us. There are no monthly fees, contracts (except for the Terms of Use), or any other costs that are paid to us.

Here are the costs for Trading Tokens

1st Token only $2.49 save 50%
––Thereafter––

Buy 1 Token $4.95
Buy 4 Tokens, get 1 free - $19.80 a 25% bonus
Buy 10 Tokens, get 5 free - $49.50 a 50% bonus

Hmm, interesting. I might give them a try when I get the chance.

...and it should be called CAGSwap instead.

Edit: Are we going to get any exclusive CAG coupon? At least for one trade token, so we can see how the service works out. If not, is it wrong to have a fellow CAG sign-up under you?

im sorry but this site has to be the worse site around.

1 i dont see anywhere it says what games they have compair to what games they dont

2. 4.95 per token is VERY VERY HIGH (highest around)

3. interface just sucks

i signed up and i got 1 token for 2.50

if any of my WANT games ship i will list a game but i dont see this site lasting sorry Cheapy but i would of teamed up with the goo...... site

interesting it says FREE SHIPPING i wonder how they will work out (media mail ? if so they i doubt i will ever use this site cause media mail just sucks LOL

anyone else think there is just way too many of these sites out there now

EDIT

seems shipping does suck

Manual Process
Collect the following items.
Disc
Instructions
Jacket Card (From under the plastic overlay)
Do not include the case or box.
Place all of this in an envelope.
Add the Mail To Address and your Return Address.
Apply the appropriate postage.
Drop in a mailbox.

I thought it said free shipping but how to ship is says APPLY postage ... Im sorry about there will be tons of broken and damage games.

The shipping method is fine as long as you put it in a bubble mailerr. Other sites Ive used ship this way work out just fine without damaging the contents. Put a piece of cardboard in with it if you feel nervous.

A gigantic problem is not being able to see what games are "available" and what games aren't. It seems you have to manually look through peoples profiles.

Another problem is that there just isnt a big user base right now. I think a lot of people have signed up just to get a free game and dont plan on listing anything of their own

Dave

I bought a trade token and requested Pokemon XD.

If I eventually get it (I have no idea if it's currently available) great, if not, I'm only out $2.49, so I won't cry about it.

I would prefer Goozex though for any future trading site needs.

bad thing this is like the 3rd or 4th site that i know of

Goozex is the best
Gamershare is out there as well

both of them have a much larger database and easier interface to find games.

i doubt this site will last long unless it makes major changes (what games out there)

i will admit after being burned by gamershare i doubt i will list anything on this site until i get something (i might list 2 games tonight)

burned... what happened with gamershare??, i was thinking of joining but i would like to know what i'm up against.

btw i've used barterbee.com and it's just a dollar per trade, they have games and dvds too. it's easy to see what they have, cause everything on there is what is available. plus you can add games you want into a wish list and they email you straight away when they are available. i got 'Riviera The Promised Land' complete & Breath of Fire for GBA and a few other titles. I've also sent a lot of stuff out too and not had problems with it.

nothing is shipping on my list. even though there are now 14 games that says NOW nothing ships. Hell 10 of the games said NOW for the last 5 days,

i be very careful of how many games i send there

am I reading this right??

If you listed your Get It game within 30 days of the match and its still listed, then the system will automatically request the Have It gamer to mail that game to you. We will transfer the correct amount of Purchase Points out of your account and deposit it into "Have It"s account. If your Get It listing is over 30 days old, you will receive an e-mail to double check if you still want that game

it means you got to wait 30 days for a game to get matched???

dude noone is going to wait up to 30 days to get a match of a game that is out there

Also i wonder how long it takes to get matched

I asked for a game that 5 people have in the I HAVE IT LIST

yet i havent been matched yet
I really don't get this. Seems to confoozled for me. I'll stick with Trading/Selling/Buying from CAG's which is free.
Agreed, rather confusing venture. I will just stick with the regular trade forums.

$5 per trade is just way too much. Why are they being so greedy? $1 a trade would be more reasonable. Yes, I know they pay shipping out of that, but it costs $2 max to ship a game. I'd rather pay shipping myself anyway so I can use Paypal shipping.

Man, your reading comprehension is lacking as usual. You don't have to wait 30 days to receive a match. What they're saying, is if it takes more than 30 days to get a match, they'll send you an e-mail to make sure you still want the game and haven't accidentally left it on your wishlist and found it elsewhere.

Also, it doesn't matter if a million people have the game you want on their "I have it list" as they have to actually agree to trade the game when the system sends them a request.

So basically it's like CAGtrading but it costs $5.00 per trade? Hmmm trade on CAG for free.......or.......pay 5.00 a trade. No Brainer. :)

The deisgn of the site seems nice, but I'm not a big fan of paying for the privilege of trading my game with someone.

Also, its not really a trading community so much as an automated game selling service. If my understanding is correct, you send your game out to someone to earn "Purchase Points," which is just a digital currency that you can use to "buy" other people's games later. There's not really a true exchange of games taking place. You could, in theory, send out a game to someone, receive your 30 Purchase Points and never get a match. Then you're out one game and you're left with nothing but digital currency.

And don't forget the "tax" the site charges on top - the "Trading Token" that costs (approximately) $2.50. I know the site's got to make money somehow, but I don't think I want to pay for the privilege of using their digital currency.

The main flaw in the system (aside from the absurdity of converting your real world assets into currency that can only be used on this site) is that the value of each game is determined by the MSRP. So then how does one guage the value of a non-GH Shadow of the Collossus (for example), which holds a greater "trading" value than its GH brother (as many in the trading community here can attest). Both items now, in theory, hold a MSRP of $19.99 and only earn you 10 Purchase Points. Additionally, what is the current MSRP on Suikoden 2? You'd be insane to put it on the site since you'd only earn (at best ) 30 Purchase Points - the same value as the most recent release of Madden.

Unless there's a mass exodus from the CAG trading forums, I think I'll stick around here. Even if there is a mass exodus, I think I might end up going to GameTZ or some other place where there's an actual trade of real world items taking place.

Sorry CheapyD. I want to fund your retirement and all, but I don't think my dollars will be going through here. I'll buy something through one of your affiliate links later today to make up for it.

$4.95 per trade?!
ouch...............
"trading platform with a lot more features"
ahhhh
it doesn't even list what games are available.

the number of trades on SaySwap, on average, is going to be ZERO per day.
as far as I can tell, SaySwap is already dead.
RIP

This thread has to be a joke, right?
Sept. 29 in Japan is the equivalent to April 1st in the US, right?
If so, you're funny CheapD.

I'll stick with www.gametz.com for actual trading. I have never been a fan of trading for points and then using the points for other games. You have no control over what you are recieving. At least here and gametz you can talk with people to find out what the condition of the items you are reiceving are.

Yeah, I agree with everyone else. $4.95 for some virtual token is pretty weak. It should be no more than $2.00 for one, if that.

This sounds similar to Goozex, but with Goozex trades are only $1 (free for the next 3 weeks or so) and they don't just use the MRSP to figure out values. They adjust the values of games so that rare or sought-after games are worth more, and there's a bigger range between the top and bottom prices. And you can see what games are available for trading, too.

I'm a little biased because I've already had some success with Goozex (and have some points stored up there) but I see nothing that this site has that is better than Goozex.

GameTZ is the best game trading site I've found and it's totally FREE.

They have the most number of users on any site not to mention the best interface for trading. =)
If I sign up, and go through all the hoops. What are my chances if the only game I want is Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (PS2 or Xbox)?
none. i even had basic games listed since yesterday and nothing has matched. This will go belly up
none. i even had basic games listed since yesterday and nothing has matched. This will go belly up
Yeah....I think Goozex might have stepped in and filled this niche, and even then is just a better/cheaper service with a decent amount of games already on it. Not really sure why CAG decided to partner with this service

If you wanted to partner with somebody, it should have been Goozex. They're cheaper, proven reliable, have a better points system, and they tell you which games are available. AND your first game is free with Goozex. In fact all trades are free for the next few weeks on Goozex. I tried it out, but I don't like the site, and I'm not going to pay $2.50 on the chance that maybe somebody has a game available that I want.

I've also tried Gamershare, and I've found Goozex to be more reliable, and to have a much better points system than Gamershare, in case some of you are looking for the better substitute.

How does the free trading work? I have a couple of points in my account, but when I add a game it tells me I don't have any trading points, or whatever.

did you buy a token for 2.50 if so then your in the same boat as me. I have a game that says OTHERS HAVE TO TRADE yet it dont match up and this has been since Friday.

Im sorry but i doubt i will ever use this site its too confusing to figure out how trades work

No, I was talking about Goozex. Sorry, you were just talking about their site, and I wanted to know how to use my remaining points on their site without having to pay for the trade points, since you said it's free for trading right now.

I didn't mean to go off-topic, wrong place to ask I guess. :D

on goozex right now. You pick a game you want and stand in line. Once your turn comes up in line your matched and the game ships

Pick the game you want and it tells you where you stand in line... If your first and there is a game you should be matched within a few hours

On Goozex, you normally need Goozex points (100 to 700+ depending on the game) and you also need a trade credit. The trade credits cost a dollar and they are how Goozex gets paid.

Right now, they aren't charging you any trade credits to get a game, but you still need to have Goozex points. You get Goozex points for sending your games to other people. When you first sign up with Goozex you also get some Goozex points for free to help you get started and try out the system.

So, if you sign up with Goozex for the first time, you'll get some Goozex points for free, and you can get your first game sent to you with those points without paying anything, and without sending any games to other people.

Sucks, I should have quoted it. Basacially some guy with the name "Cheapassisgay" promoting SaySwap, how they are awesome, and he should put Dead Rising up on that.

Yeah, I banned him. The posts are still there if Cheapy wants to have a look.
And go with Goozex.
i dont think goozex gives commisions

got to say Goozex is the best out there .. im up around 5,000 pts just trading off games in my house i will never play. Hell just today i racked up 1200 pts trading 3 games ( 200, 400 and 600)

Goozex is the only trading site I've really tried using, but at least you actually get games sent to you with Goozex. From what I've read, a lot of places seem to have real trouble with people offering games and then not trading them when they are requested.

I haven't tried SaySwap, but I do want to throw in that I've had good experiences with Goozex. I've sent out about 4 games, with 2 on the way to me. The bonus points they give when you sign up are nice, plus free trades through the end of this month I believe. Customer service rocks, too. I recommend them.
