With one pet, you still want to loot. The pet only loots every four seconds so there's plenty to pick up while farming imps. Fissfiss stopped looting because of his pet and then marveled at how I had a million more silver than him at level 15.

Haha, my week is an absolute clusterfuck. I'm supposed to be moving tomorrow, but short sales blow and our closing has been delayed again. Last year the sale fell through the week we were supposed to move and we had to stay here another year. This time its going through but a snag "in the paperwork" unrelated to seller/buyer has delayed us by another week most likely. We waited a month before we started unpacking boxes last year once we realized we were stuck. Because of NJ's property laws, we can't move out of state while the short sale is pending.

On another aside because of this delay, I went ahead and ordered a new MOBO due to my problem over the weekend. Its something I've been considering for a while regardless because I had limited SATA ports with the current one, but at least the new one will allow me to see if its really my GPU that's failed rather than the mobo. It gets here tomorrow, so maybe with a bit of better luck I can at least play some games if my GPU is still in working order while this stupid real estate nonsense sorts itself out. The onboard graphics don't let me play anything of merit i.e. I tried Dead Cells cause I got it late last week and what should be 60FPS+ on almost any GPU of decent merit, the onboard doesnt go over 10.
is this the real estate equivalent of syntax reviving you in the middle of a firefight or on fire?

So far, I've gotten a Musa to 19 and a Striker to 25.
Right now, I really want to try to get the Striker leveled while there's all the bonuses to doing so.
As has been mentioned, so long as you're fighting stuff in the level brackets they're suggested, most mobs just fall over to clicking them to death, and using other moves when mobs surround you.

What's been really nice is that when you log in and get all of the daily log in rewards, you generally can stack it to get where you'll get the extra xp bonus for being on the newbie servers, plus another 100% because you logged in, plus another 100% for an hour or 200% for a half hour.
Moving along the Spirit's storyline chain and moving to the next area (new mobs that you're at the low end of the range for), you can fire off all those buffs, and at least in the twenties, gain 4+ levels in that half hour.

I could see myself adding on more new characters, because with the way the Family system works, you have energy, cooperation points, and knowledge points shared between them, and I've been noticing that quests that knowledge point based ones (along with NPC amity) are also shared between characters, meaning there are some questions you only need to complete once, and after having done so, you just talk to the NPC on the new character and collect the reward for the quest immediately.

Thanks to the shared storage and houses in towns, I think later in the game I may just start tossing extra characters out there to have them sit in various far-flung places on the map and rather than traveling across the world with one character, I may just change to another just to save the time.

I only bought the base game, and I don't feel like I'm missing out on a ton, but I could see how having a pet and not having to loot the enemies would be a nice quality of life upgrade.

As a side note: If you're playing this game, make sure to go into the loyalty store and buy and extra character slot right now. It's a 1 loyalty reward, and you're given 100 loyalty a day. (normally it's something like 5000 loyalty).
(yet another bonus for the Striker release event.)
They are getting rid of Loyalty points. Announced today.

Psh. I'm buying 3 more pets. Need my looters!

I haven't gotten any exp items from quests...though I haven't done a quest in two days -.-

Well, IMO Microsoft did better than that. They put out a PS4 2 and then said "HEY EVERYONE, HERE IS A FREE PS4 2 COMPLETELY FREE AND YOU HAVE LIKE FOREVER TO CLAIM IT AND INSTALL IT AND USE IT. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU HAVE A PS3 OR PS2, WE'LL STILL GIVE IT TO YOU FREE."
Free PS4 2s from Microsoft? Why do I always miss the good deals? :???:

Maryland can't even use autocomplete. "Nintey"

Of course, soon it will be "covfefe" for every state.

Holy shit, you had a year delay?!? Short sales do blow. We put our offer on our house in January of 2014 and we didn't close til October that year...at least stuff was relatively as scheduled, though. Yikes, good luck...hope the deal is a good one.

What happened was our original buyer had a bunch of legal shit of her own + there was a lien on the house from when my uncle owned it (its a family owned property) and it had to go through probate court and stuff like that. The original realtor was a complete noob when it came to short sales and largely didn't know what he was doing and didnt do all that he was supposed to, so a week before close last year he finds out and everything went to shit. We were basically on the hook with the original buyer for ages trying to get things sorted, but the probate court that we had no idea about was the big hassle since they had to make sure no heirs besides me existed etc. eventually the original buyer backed out in like October (was originally supposed to move in July) and we got a new realtor and got an offer in February. Here we are now. Hopefully closing next week. Its not nearly the problems we had before thankfully, just a title company delay.

"Notice of Deficient Claim Form"

Despite already providing all of the pertinent info in the initial submission, I just got that bullshit in the mail instead of my $100.

Anyone else have these GTX 970 settlement knob gobblers try to screw them out of the monies?

Still waiting on anything from those dickheads. I know Parallacks (indef) has gotten his, but I dunno of anyone else on here who claimed. I may have to RMA my card on top of things lol.

Received my new video card and installed it. So far activated over a hundred keys and waiting for everything to update. Might be able to actually play a game tonight or tomorrow and test that freesync tech all the kids are raving about.
Mysterd, is 8GB of VRAM enough? Or should I download more. A reviewer on Amazon said I could.

If you've gone AMD, you need at least 3x's the VRAM of what NVidia is giving you on their equivalent-priced card.

RMA, shit, best of luck there.

I just know this return envelope is going to be pushed to capacity: print outs of original purchase invoices, photo of the side of the gpu box showing part and serial numbers, photo of the serial number on the cards themselves, pictures of the cards running in my tower, a couple pics of the cards and I after I first unboxed them, and a photo album of candid shot of the cards and I vacationing in Palm Beach/taking a selfie when we met Huey Lewis (no News, though)/relaxing at home/laughing at a funny movie/being intimate /etc, etc, ETC!!!

I think I'll play another character and see how the game plays at a slower pace. Between the various xp boosts you get as rewards, the weekend boost they had running and the Steam server boost, I half feel like someone who bought a lvl 40 character rather than someone who got one by playing the game. During the trial, I started a Dark Knight and enjoyed it but then made a Maehwa on my Steam game and played her almost exclusively (I took a Sorceress to 15 but didn't like the style). So I'll probably go back to DK next. Fissfiss will yell at me to play a Striker for the reward-bribes.

Not sure when I'll start a new character. Guess whenever I feel like I'm hitting a wall or want to try other aspects of the game without farming level 10 mobs for potato seeds or something.
It definitely does sound like the XP boosts overleveled you and made combat feel more trivial. I never got super far in leveling (I spent a looot of time fishing and trading), but I was challenged here and there, mostly solo against the big scary boss things that would come out of portals. I played the sorceress too, so maybe that class is a little tougher solo (it's also possible I just suck more).

I had a similar issue in SWTOR when I was a subscriber. The XP boosts are ridiculous. I was literally skipping entire planets so that combat would be somewhat challenging, and doing 4 player group missions solo. That's the number one thing that frustrated me and turned me off to that game. Never ran into it in BDO though.

Yep, I got mine about a month ago. I was beginning to wonder.

Well I've got my W10 from that free W8 transfer and I don't have any kind of horror stories to tell, but for example my gf had some issues with her XB1 controller locking up the pc and there's also that ugly bug that changes your color profile to the default one.

But hey, maybe I'm happy to be in W10 because of what a nightmare W8 was.

By the way, BF1 got a new patch today so be sure to update to be ready for the #FridayNightBattlefield: https://www.battlefield.com/news/update-notes/may-update

Have you guys tried playing the Operations mode?
Did you try disabling windows power management of the device? I had a similar issue this weekend when I tried connecting an xbox one controller via bluetooth. I could connect the controller, but within a minute or so my pc would lock up for about 10 seconds and then the controller would stop working. I disabled power management to what I think was the controller's interface with the pc and haven't had the issue since. As with all things PC and troubleshooting: YMMV.

Here is path I took:

Settings>Devices>Device manager>view: show hidden devices>network adapters>Microsoft Wi-Fi direct virtual adapter>Properties>Power management>uncheck: allow the computer to turn off this device to save power>OK

It got fixed a while ago via Windos Update but it was kind of disappointing to see that kind of bug in the OS and BTW I used your tip also a while ago to fix some issues that I had with my wireless card.

I think the real question is... "Will there ever be a percentage off sale on Steam during steam sales."
Probably not. Rainbow Siege Six is the same way (buy R6 Bucks through Steam so you can buy game store exclusive DLC) and they've never been on any sort of special Steam sale. I don't think they even show in the Steam store, you just use Steam as your portal for payment.

Last night, Fox and I (then Jimbo) played Creativerse which is pretty much the Mega Blocks version of Minecraft.  Reds tried joining us but was having various difficulties and never got to hook up.  For a free game, it worked and did the job with what you'd expect: knock down some tree trunks to leave the foliage inexplicably hanging in mid-air and dig holes until you get in trouble.  Just because Fox is a man of enigmas, he took the one game designed around digging holes and instead built a fort on a high mountain top.  Jimbo tried building a castle around our little hut but started late and only completed a wall.

Rather than pick-axing your way through life, Creativerse gives you a glove that vacuums up blocks.  To upgrade your glove to vacuum more difficult blocks, you need to craft upgrades.  There's also a somewhat annoying system where, to get stuff like coal and obsidian, you need to craft an extractor which you place on the block and wait (a minute or so on coal, 5 minutes for obsidian) before you can get your stuff.  I haven't played Minecraft to know if the overall time effect is similar to you tik-tik-tiking away at a block with your pick but I do know I have other things to do than wait five minutes.  There's also swords and armor and household items and blah, blah, blah.  Anyway, if you needed a competent Minecraft knock-off for some reason, Creativerse is your game.  I was a little worried that our progress (if you could call it that) would be lost but I guess it's all saved on my computer so we'll be ready next time we play in 2019.

Tonight is Drawful 2 which should be good times if previous Jackbox games are any indication.  You don't need to own the game, only the host (Fox) does although you'll want to be on Discord with a mic and it's helpful (though not necessary) to have a tablet or smart phone.

I like to mess with the weird physics in building games. Like how I could build out a floor for my fort jutting out of a mountain with absolutely no support. One time in Minecraft I made an underground fort out of glass with one side against a lake for a beautiful underwater view. Then a fucking creeper came by and blew it up and flooded my place.

I do agree though, Creativerse is a pretty confident Minecraft clone and for anyone curious as to whether they would like a game like MC, it's a good place to start. Initially, Creativerse is a little easier because of the powerglove, whereas in MC you have to punch trees, use wood to craft a wooden pick, use that to mine stone, make stone tools, etc. In MC, you just mine anything with the right tools. Like a wooden pick axe can mine regular stone, but to mine special blocks you need stone or steel. I think mining of special blocks is faster in MC vs. the excavators, but you do have to make the tools first and they also do have a limited lifespan. Not sure if Creativerse has something in the premium shop to make things faster.

And yep, tonight Drawful 2! Anyone can join. I think it's up to 8 players. Even Bah with his broken mobo can still join if he misses the bros, which I know he does.

I actually played Drawful 2 for the first time a couple days ago at a BBQ. Fun, simple little spin on pictionary. Probably a funner party game to play in person with people, but it should still be a good time.

Discord is a pretty good substitute for being in person. You can't see us, but you'll certainly hear us laughing and making fun of people's awful drawings. Like Syntax. He can draw the best turtle with a hat you'll ever see, but that's where his talent ends.

As an example, last night I decided to head north to Velia for some reason and realized that I had spoken to maybe one NPC there the first time through because I had out-leveled everything and moved along for greener pastures. So I went through and spoke to everyone, ran some newbie quests, got some contribution points and found the guy who I should have spoken to early on who starts the whole node/worker thing. Anyway, I don't "blame" them for the boosts and get why they did it but I think it had some unintended consequences and will one day want to try it without.

I just logged into my Alienware account and it says I'm Level 13. Last time I used the site (many months ago) I think I was only Level 6 or 7. Don't know why I got bumped so high, but I'll take it.
Max level used to be 10 (or something), now it's 30. Instead of just adding the new levels, they scaled everyone.

I think it's a fairly common issue with MMOs these days. Even Secret World had a similar situation with a boost that doubled your point gain and allowed you to build your character up ridiculously fast (that game at least didn't have traditional leveling, but still). Whether the game is F2P or not, there's always the boost items or events and whatnot that let someone fly along towards the endgame content and pass up the bulk of the game.

I think it's a silly practice, but I'm also the kind of person who takes my time with things and has more fun with the journey rather than the destination when it comes to MMOs. Most people seem to just want to get to the endgame content as quickly as possible, and with a game like BDO that's full of various Harvest Moon type skills to play with and build, it just doesn't really feel like the way to go.
