On the plus side, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Wyoming and Iowa can be largely done in a single afternoon of cutting and pasting.

Tried again, both web & client. No dice. That's what I get for paying the EA tax, although I did save a bonus 10% off those stupid TS4 stuff packs I bought yesterday.

Of course, I have nothing to spend Bioware points on other than stupid multiplayer unlock crates which are an order of magnitude worse than GMG mystery packs...but I strangely feel obligated to stock up on Bioware points just in case ME4 happens to have shitty DLC practices.
How does one go about trying to purchase Bioware points on Origin? Would like to test it out.

Good news is they're changing the map scale on ATS to be similar to the scale in ETS, which is great since ATS could feel pretty small at times. Downside, unless some decent mods come out/are out, it's going to be a looong time before they get to the east coast. As it stands in like a year we've gotten one DLC (Arizona) and looks like they are planning to do New Mexico and Oregon next iirc.
Are those states going to be free or still for pay? Initially I though only AZ was free and the rest would be expansions.

Pay I believe. More excited for the new scale then the 2 states to be honest, considering NM will probably be Arizona with more mountains (though Oregon will be a nice change of pace if they are going that way).

Minnesota can be mostly cut and paste as well, got some areas they'll have to actually work on but been around Minnesota (and parts of Iowa) and it's the same cornfields and soy bean fields for hours.

Also, played some of the Crew yesterday, and only realized after like 4-5 hours the default settings had the steering sensitivity jacked all the way up (had been wondering why my car was so damn twitchy). Who thought that was a good idea?! Turned it down to about 50ish and solved all the control issues, though might have to turn it up a bit more as the understeer can be a bit bad at times.

At least it doesn't go flying off spinning everywhere if you hit a tiny bump (*cough* Dirt Rally *cough*).

The Crew has definitely improved since the beta. I played for about an hour last night and was pleased to find that the game was playable. I enjoyed driving aimlessly and soaking in the scenery. I recommend driving through Salt Lake City and Las Vegas at nighttime--very nice atmosphere.

My main gripe about The Crew is that I can't get out of the car and shoot people.

Can anyone confirm they received a "Pay What You Want for Space Engineers" email that links to the game for sale at $6 for a Steam or fuck ing Desura key...

That's not what I wanted to pay and I didn't know there was a drm free version or am I just donating anything $5.99 and under?

They need an option to attack a wrestler before a match or i'm not interested
They have that in 2K16 already.

Not sure how it works in MyUniverse Mode there though.

When you select a match in MyCareer Mode and it's not grayed-out - you're given the option to run-in.

You can select who to Run-In on; and do a Run-In at certain locations (top of stage, ramp, come through the ringside entrance, etc). Up to you. Then, you can battle it out w/ who you're running in on.

Another option is you can select for the Run-In is during the match and stay outside the ring like a Manager would do. There, you stand by the apron - where you're given options to cheer on any wrestler, distract a wrestler, distract the ref. And any time, you can get away from the apron and even control your character directly - if you want to get involved physically by interfering in any way you can think of - grab weapons from under the ring and check them into the ring; actually attack someone inside or outside the ring; etc.

You do have a meter for the run-in when you're staying around during the match, though - if you piss off the ref enough, he'll kick you out from staying at ringside.

It has been out for almost 2 years, Id certainly hope it has improved since the beta!

----------------------------

I just put about 45 minutes into the For Honor Alpha, here are some quick thoughts. There's no NDA.

- At first I was playing with Fox in 2v2 (AI enemies) and that wasnt bad, but it didnt give the entire scope of the game.

- The most the alpha lets you do is 4v4, Im not sure if that is how it will be on release, but the whole 3 invites makes sense now. You can do 4v4 AI or other players.

- In the 4v4 mode there are a shitton of NPCs that you can maul. You also have objectives. Lesser modes (1v1/2v2) are just 1 on 1 fighting with other "Heroes".

- The best way to describe the game is a very high quality Chivalry. You have to keep in mind your stances and blocking techniques. I imagine this game will be hard as nails PvP when you're up against someone who really has a grasp of things.

All in all it looks really nice and plays fairly well. As for value, thats another discussion. I cannot imagine paying $60 for this thing. The game will have a 1 player story mode which Id be keen to check out. Then again, this is Alpha, but for just MP, its decent, but not a Battlefield or COD type of game that will enthrall the masses. Much more niche. The fighting is fun and brutal though.

I agree with Bah about For Honor. I got a taste I'd the objective mode in the practice mode. The combat is hard to master. I was using KB/M and I assume the game is a little easier with a controller, but it takes practice. It's a really good mix of timing and technique. A more complex Chivalry is the perfect comparison.

I had forgot to sign up to the alpha, so I've been watching some streams.

The gameplay seems really fun.

Cool, Syntax Error mode enabled. Ill see you guys in the celler of the standings every level

Hey, how much of a monster rig do you need to run The Crew? Tried it out on my laptop this afternoon that runs The Witcher 3 and Shadow of Mordor just fine and it hung up on the loading screen.

Keep trying, I don't recall it being that crazy to run. Try shaking your laptop, restarting, and maybe searching online to see if maybe it is a driver or setting getting in your way. The loading screen wouldn't be getting into the graphically intense part of the game anyway. How much VRAMs do you have and how much regular RAMs? And is your computer on and plugged in?

If you can run those two, you should have no issue with The Crew.

Try looking up your exact model laptop + The Crew in Google and see if theres a setting or something. It may have just been an anomaly as well. Try verifying your installation too. Just select the game in uPlay and select properties to find the option.

If you're running the crew on your laptop taking off your pants should significantly shorten your load time.

After the long initial part, the Crew really becomes quite a relaxing free roam experience. I drove from Detroit all the way to Seattle, with a detour along the way in Salt Lake City, and it was really awesome. I just wish that more major U.S. cities were in the map, and the lack of a custom radio of user songs, which Test Drive Unlimited had, is disappointing. And the game with ultra textures works fine with a 2 GB Vram gpu.

For the remaining months, a Ghost Recon game is likely to show. It would be nice if it was Future Soldier.

And for a good Steam regional pricing deal, Lego: Jurassic World is $6.24 CAD in Canada vs $7.50 USD on the US Steam Store. Maybe its compensation for that Summer Sale glitch that wasn't in Canada. Mad Max is $9.99 CAD vs USD, so still a good savings there but not as dramatic of a difference.

Are you running NVidia?

Update to newest drivers:

The Crew notoriously doesn't get along w/ some NVidia drivers - namely, some of the 360 series of drivers (before 368.69).

Should be okay with earlier 350 series drivers or the newest 368.69 drivers.

No, wait, I thought Nvidia drivers never had issues and it was always the AMD ones with issues. You sure you didn't mean AMD and not Nvidia? I would double check that if I were you.

I did all of that. I gave it a Dirty Sanchez too.

Now it's just sitting in the corner, shaking and looking wounded.

Well, that's interesting to note. Ubisoft gonna Ubisoft, I guess. I'll wait before I fool with it again.

Are you mixing playing The Crew up with watching Fast and Furious movies?

Nope, this sucker came loaded with an AMD card, so who knows?

I've been digging around Steam and Ubi forums - and wow.... The Crew seems to be known for all kinds of stability + crashing issues.

Since you don't have the Nvidia issues (b/c you have AMD), it's probably something else.

You could start w/ the usual non-sense - Verify game files on Uplay and try booting game up again; and close any other 3rd party programs that might be getting in the way.

EDIT:

This stuff is pretty disgusting w/ it being crash-prone, TBH:

I downloaded The Crew and it's actually pretty okay from what I've played, but I still don't know how to drive so I crash into everything. It only let me play the intro since I still need to download 14 GB. Bleh.

The lack of a Mexican flag or fox decals irritates me.

Anyone else hate how Steam doesn't track your playtime in The Crew (as in, non-steam games)?

Hate this stupid obsession

Then use Raptr or something else that notices what games you have + time-tracks.

Or course, you'd think by now UPLAY would have time-tracking - but, you know, Ubi will Ubi....

What's the deal with ME4? Is it gonna be another Mass Effect RPG or a completely different genre?

I've had my head in the sand a little bit.
Frankly, you might as well keep it there... They really haven't been talking about it all that much.

I agree with Bah about For Honor. I got a taste I'd the objective mode in the practice mode. The combat is hard to master. I've been playing on a controller and I was wondering the exact opposite... That it might be easier to play with KB/M. I honestly think that might be a good thing. No real advantage to either control scheme.

I agree with bah also... It looks amazing (though I could never break the 60 FPS barrier even when I turned the video settings way down. And, yes, V-Sych was/is off.) Controls amazing (minus using the D=Pad for changing to addition items) and just seems really solid in general.

The 4x4 mode that Bah spoke of is really quite neat with how it does the center point... There is largish area where men from both armies are constantly clashing and the way the point is determined is which side is pushing the other side back... As a "hero unit" you are very key in this push as you trash the normal men with one hit while seeking out the other armies "hero unit" for the truly decisive battles within the battles. Its really got a good Braveheart/Vikings battle scene feel to it.

You level each character type (their seems to be six different types the alpha) and can unlock/find new armor pieces, patterns, which seems to have some ab effect on character stats. (I saw weapon damage change by finding a new blade type for my sword and my defense go up when I found a new armor piece.)

Another note: You can always play the warrior type you want to play. In the multiplayer you can play a viking while your teams play knights and/or samurais.

So there is depth in whatnot, more than I thought there would be, I'm just not sure if its 60 dollar depth... I will give it this... If you want to play this style of game... I think you'll pretty much have to play this. Its not like a FPS where you you just go play another.

Lastly, for a game not due to release till February I find it to be in a really good spot.

One Note: There is coop in the previously mentioned campaign.

Then use Raptr or something else that notices what games you have + time-tracks.

Or course, you'd think by now UPLAY would have time-tracking - but, you know, Ubi will Ubi....

[shrug]
The bad thing about Raptr is that it seems to randomly flake out and not track games at times... and for a long time now it seems like it won't track Blizzard games.

So, I sort of wish Steam would add a feature where it would track and forum a community around the exe file now. (So you could talk Diablo III on Steam or see what friends play it... Cause lets face it no one remembers their blizzard username without looking it up. (Due to the random assigned numbers.)

So I'm in a bit of a pickle, where I keep thinking about buying HF:R. I mean, I had fun playing it and I would actually play it right away (I keep thinking about the game after the free weekend was over), and I even have a couple of friends to play the co-op stuff with but I still can't get myself to pull the trigger at $20+, since this game is more than likely to reduce in price sooner rather than later. It doesn't help that I'm in that semi-depressed, "let's spend money because REASONS" state, and it looks like the complete bundle is $25 on the canadian store.

Someone stop me before I kill again buy games at 40% off.
You know, in my ignorance I didn't realize HF: R was back on sale on Steam again at Weekend Sale prices. Thought it was just a random Canadian pricing difference. I might just bite if I can find a Canadian soon or maybe I will pay the extra $5 premium to use my Steam Wallet on it.

Edit:

And found a trader on Steamtrades selling it for $22 so that was too much of a savings to pass up on. Now I can use my Steam Wallet for more COD overpriced stuff!

Same here, but Mortos is still showing up in my library on the site and in the client. I wonder whats going on?
The dev didn't revoke Groupees keys, they revoked the keys that were given away.

Groupees keys weren't beta, so you probably had both licenses tied to your account, which is why you still have the game.
