D3 Battlechest on sale for $20 at various outlets: Gamestop, physical from Amazon, or code from Battle.net.
What does this have to do with Mad Max?

I liked the first film as a "post apocalyptic" biker movie.

The second was okay.

3rd and 4th felt like someone had a setting and general idea for what would happen but couldn't come up with a main character so they threw the Mad Max character into them.

My mind wants to form some sort of continuity between the movies and it's hard to try to do without crazy leaps.

I do love the game though. I had tons of fun and a few moments in the story that made me feel a bit of emotion.

I love when people whom don't understand nor appreciate excellence in cinema creation go on the internet and attempt to blast highly rated movies. Oooh wow, you're so clever and controversial. I'm sure George Miller and the six Oscars this film won will have a rough time sleeping at night.

A simple "I didn't like it" would suffice. But feel free to let everyone know that you're an idiot too. That's always entertaining.
it was a dumb movie and everybody who liked it is a huge moran and george miller could have insomnia that is completely unrelated to the success of his film for all you know

You couldn't pay me to play that awful game. ARPG=ARPGARBAGE
So, ummm....no ARPG Bro Nights ever?

Wait, some still don't have this all yet...?

Had a blast w/ Mad Max game, when I play it on and off. Can't play it all the time b/c it does feel like open-world UbiSoft capture objective on-the-minimaps galore. But the gunplay + vehicular-combat was a lot of fun. Need to finish it up some more, some time.

Only actually seen original Mad Max film + Fury Road last year. Somehow, never seen the other in between movies. Loved both of them.

I thought the Mad Max game was pretty decent. It's basically Just Cause without the flying, and a poor-man's Arkham fighting system. I did lose interest about an hour or two in though, but I'll definitely go back.

Hm. Just Cause + Batman sounds pretty damn good to me. Although, honestly, jumping off a helicopter or out of a plane in Just Cause 2 was pretty much half of the fun.

As a JC2 fan (didn't play JC3 yet), I don't think it's that much like JC.

No flying vehicles and lack of a gigantic island and mountains isn't the same.

Mad Max felt like it had more focus on vehicular combat, which is still fun, but I wouldn't consider it "JC mixed with Arkham"

I loved the simplicity of Mad Max's combat. I'd go as far as to call it refined. Shadow of Mordor threw so many enemies at you that each kill felt less satisfying than the last, and Arkham Knight throws so many gadgets and challenges at you that it really just makes me sick just thinking about it. Max just beats the shit out of people and it feels great. Each hit has impact and there's enough upgrades to keep things interesting.

I see why people would prefer the hordes of Mordor or the...well, no, I don't see how someone could like Arkham Knight...but that's fine! What's important is that we all have an outlet to kill people in games to keep us from doing it in real life. Right...?

Right!

It's JC mixed with Arkham Knight if Arkham Knight had a decent driving system.

Oh, warreni... nothing is going to prepare you for your first storm.

Mad Max is not a bad game. As stated the combat's awesome and upgrading the car was cool. The game ran great and looked good and for the most part was fun.....for a while. The biggest problem I had with Mad Max was I didn't give one fuck about the story. I hated almost all the characters (although Weiler's mom Jeet having a role was cool). I ended up putting like 30 hours into it and just not caring about the story enough to actually finish it.

Dirt 3 is still available on Amazon for PC if anyone wanted it but couldn't get it before it was delisted. $2.99 too. https://www.amazon.com/DiRT-Complete-Online-Game-Code/dp/B016ISV8ZI

Well, to be fair, you did see that I said it was Just Cause without the flying, right? It's a giant area with lots of similar outposts to clear.

Oh, and it's made by Avalanche Studios that made.... the Just Cause series!

Ya totally, it's why I was kinda expecting JC2 myself. But I really dont feel like the 2 share much in common

I don't recall running in bases and overtaking them in Just Cause, i believe you just blow them up in that game.

Maybe it's been too long since I played JC2

Also, i believe someone commented on optimization. I'm on a GTX 760 2GB and ran at max 60fps, and I thought the game was insanely good looking. I know it was mostly desert, but I really can't imagine what graphics we can have on a GTX 1080 8GB

In for one Dell SSD cancellation and the righteous indignation at the the violation of my consumer rights soon to follow.

Also in for some Slickdeals people talking about how they bought 500 of them and are going to resell them for $50 each on eBay and pay for their kid's college.

I bought 5 each of that one and M.2 drive that is also a price mistake. Probably in for one giant cancellation though.

BTW Best Buy carries both models. If you actually want them to use it might be worth trying to PM over phone.

Nice Find, Shame it's only 225GB though.

In Hindsight though, You can get ssd's of the same size All day long for $80-$100, so it could just be dell clearing out old inventory and not advertising it. The only site other than dell's where i could find this model was Best Buy's Buisness website, which wanted 89.99.

I grabbed one of those drives to stick Steam games onto. Hope it doesn't get canceled (because they don't ship to PO Boxes, and that's all I have, haha)

Ordered one also...

Hopefully not cancelled.

Eh, I just did it on a lark and don't care much one way or the other.
Pretty much my thoughts. I bought a 750 GB SSD over Black Friday (for $100), so I'm certainly not looking to replace that with a 250GB. If it ships, I might slap it in my old laptop. But I hardly ever use that anymore, so I can't say that I care one way or another. Mostly just tried because it was a price glitch (or low enough that it feels like one) and I am biologically incapable of passing up a price glitch.

Good luck to anybody out there who really could use one of these things though.

They fixed it, and I haven't received a cancellation email within 10 minutes of them fixing the error. That must mean that I'm gonna get it.

I haven't seen anyone mention it but apparently you can get a steam key for Exoplanet: First Contact using the "Developer Key" from the Adventure Role Playing groupees bundle from 2013.

EDIT: Gotta register the key on the dev's site.
Eh...you mean this? http://alersteam.com/blog/en/

So you have to register a Wordpress account with them, then go to the English version of the page and click "Activate key" and hope that your key works (I have two and neither worked). Then you get to access their super sekrit forum where you will find your key. Make sure you get out your secret decoder rings and Navajo Code Talkers just in case they're even more of a pain in the ass.

:speaktothehand: :speaktothehand: :speaktothehand: Shitty devs make it too hard to get keys for their games.

EDIT: Oh their website doesn't work because "it got hacked" like all those other people who don't want to give games away to people who bought them in bundles. He better make sure he revokes the keys that were given out, just to make sure...

Lucas, sorry for the inconveniences, after our website was hacked, we didn't have chance to restore all things for good. Worked hard on the update. If you have any questions - feel free to send a message to [email protected] and we will help you asap!

Is diablo 3 even worth getting at this point? I'm enjoying Grim Dawn, love the setting... But D3... don't know if I should spend $20 on it now, but blizzard has been very stingy with discounts on this game

If you like Grim Dawn, you like D2, and you haven't played D3? It is worth $20 for the battle chest. People hate on the game but IT IS GOOD. It is also Blizzard so it will probably never get truely dirt cheap.

I LOVED D2, really don't know why I haven't played D3 yet. Played torchlight 1 & 2... great games, but didn't liked the setting that much. I prefer darker settings.

Yes.

(There are some design decision that still suck but you not find a loot based ARPG with the same production value.)

That being the case, yes. I'm not even that much of a Diablo fan--I only played a few hours of the first game and never finished the second one, but I like Diablo III. The RMAH (real money auction house) that enriched a lot of folks but also had many people crying foul over the pay-to-win aspects is a distant memory. It's basically what you would expect from a Diablo sequel, so whatever you like ARPGs for, there's more of it here: the story is entertaining enough and told with Blizzard's typically high-quality cutscenes, there's multiplayer for those who like other humans, and the "seasons" for when you're done with the story or if you don't actually care about stories in the first place. $20 is about as cheap as the original game + expansion are likely to get, because, as everyone else has been saying, Blizzard's idea of a sale is 25-50% off.

I'm going to say it: Diablo 3 is better on consoles. The gameplay feels much more fluid and satisfying with a controller, and it is an awesome game for local co-op. I have an emotional bias in that regard because it's one of the only games my wife will actually play with me without widening the valley of resentment the exists between us, and it's one of the games I'm most excited to play with my son once he is old enough to officially become a junior member of the Church of Satan.

I just now got an order confirmation from Dell.  My initial thought was less "This is happening!" and more "Huh, so now I'm gonna have a SSD laying around here".

Still expecting a cancellation, of course.  But was surprised for see the confirmation come through after so long.

Last time I ordered a Dell glitch it took about a day for the mass cancellations to go out.  I got order confirmations and everything too.  So I didn't even bother this time.

They make PCs that work with game pads these days. What a time to be alive!
It's a hell of a time to be alive, and an even better time to be dead, but either way Diablo 3 is not a PC game that you want to play with a controller. It takes quite a bit of work and it isn't going to compare to the console version, which was redesigned to work with a gamepad.
