Stumbled upon this today:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Steam/comments/5emux7/steam_regionlocked_game_unlocked_after_three/

Anyone know if waiting three months on a region locked game in your account actually does become unlocked?
I bought a CoD game a few months ago, not noticing it was European only, so it would not install.

No idea which one it was (I think it was modern warfare) but I tried to install off of my CoD games and none of them gave me a region locked message, so I am guessing it works.

Played Battle Chef Brigade for 2 1/2 hours and it's so good. Reminds me a lot of Recettear in that it takes a bunch of different genres and meshes them together in a way that works really well. Half Match-3, half hack 'n' slash, half RPG. Top it off with the Iron Chef presentation style and you've got a winning recipe.

I liked Battle Chef a lot. However, about two-thirds of the way through you get to play the story mode as a different character, and I was kind of disappointed when you didn't get to play as more characters. I think more are playable in multiplayer, but I don't have any friends.

That being said, the match-3 gameplay here is a lot of fun. The point is to upgrade the colors, which is mostly through match-3, but can also be match-2, or match-4, or just wait a while depending on the different cooking equipment you use. I mean, the chef battles here work really, really well.

I smoked a pork butt yesterday and while I had to rush it a little bit it was fairly tasty and much better than my first attempt.  I think for my next one I'll start it at midnight or so and cook it right at 220 to get that nice crispy bark and give it a 2 hour rest as opposed to the 1 hour I gave this one.

About to get Lego City Undercover via trade. Has anyone here played the PC version? What other Lego titles should I get? Noticed Lego Batman 1 is in that GMG mega bundle, so it should be easy enough to get.

But you ate it as a topping on pizza, right?

Any of them, really. Batman is from the era before the characters talked, if that matters to you. Jurassic World and Marvel are probably the two I enjoyed most.

I've seen a lot of posts on forums about how glitchy/buggy the PC port of Lego City is, so I opted for the Switch version. I'd be interested to know how the performance fares for you.

Don't mind that. Have Lego Star Wars the Complete Saga on Android, which is also one of the silent ones, and it was pretty enjoyable out of what I played. It is a port of the console/PC game, so it provides a very similar experience. May or may not get that one on PC at some point. Missed getting it when it was in a bundle. Got Lego Jurassic World recently, and also have Lego Marvel Superheroes 1, as well as Lego Batman 2.

I've heard about issues with performance on all platforms, although performance seems to be an improvement compared to the Wii U original. How is the Switch version running for you? Read about people having significant performance issues on the Switch version, especially when undocked.

I haven't played much of anything undocked, so it could very well run pretty shitty, but I dunno. The Switches portability is mostly irrelevant to me, personally, as I don't see the need to take the system anywhere. I bought it for the Nintendo 1st party exclusives and in Lego City there's a handful of Nintendo specific references. Docked, the game runs as well as expected: nowhere near great, roughly 30 fps in 1080p, but better than the WiiU version, which was pretty bad, sometimes as low as 20~ fps.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel & All DLC's.

Depending on what you own already, you might have a different discount to "Complete The Bundle":

Example: I own BL2: GOTY + HH DLC's + Season Pass & only BL: TPS Base-Game, so my discount is 87% off at $9.97 to "Complete The Bundle".

Mine is $4.27 for the TPS DLC, but I've already played Claptastic Voyage on consoles and don't really think the other content is worth it. Definitely worth that price for CV, though.

I really enjoyed TPS. The jetpack and zero gravity improved a lot on the already great BL2 combat mechanics. The story was good and the writing was very fun and campy--much better than most of the cringe pop culture drivel Anthony Burch wrote for BL2. I would've loved to see more full story DLC for the game. Why did it tank so hard? Were the physics and oxygen meter too difficult for dumbasses to manage?

I had Borderlands burn-out after BL1+2, so I still ain't touched BL2 DLC's and even BL: TPS.

Did people get burned out w/ the BL series by the time BL: TPS dropped? Was TPS basically "More Borderlands 2" with some few tweaks and changes? B/c, to me, that's what TPS looks like.

It is. That might be it, but you don't necessarily have to play everything back-to-back. And not specifically targeting you with this, but I find it funny that people can get burnt out with the series but will pre-order all the CoD and GTA style games. Destiny is a lot like BL and it's cool to hate on Destiny 2, so maybe the hybrid combat style is just too hard for people. I really like the games though, they're easy to breeze through and funny enough to keep my attention.

@Blade

Oh, no doubt. I definitely get what you're saying.

I've learned the hard way from playing lots of BL1 and BL2 that after a while, that all of these ARPG's can be very similar. Not just FPS/ARPG hybrids like Borderlands series, but also ARPG's like Diablo series and its clones (TQ series, Sacred series, etc). Loads of loot, loads of enemies & mostly non-stop action. Hence me getting away from BL series for a while. Well, I just booted up BL2 to get into the DLC's...and man, I realized how much I missed this series.

BTW, I did recently play Destiny 2 PC (base-game) and thought it was awesome.

This also goes for AC overload too and also UbiSoft open-world game overload too - yes, and their clones also - as a lot of the open-world games have that structure too. And they pump sequels out for AC yearly or every 2 years or so, too.

About CoD & GTA games & clones - thing is, COD SP Campaigns ain't super-long these days. So, after 5-10 hours...eh, you're good to go. See you in a year or so for the next campaign. About the MP - oh, I get the fatigue w/ those. Every year - restart at Level 1 on MP; mostly the same MP modes every year; and then after 10-20 hours I wind-up quitting, no matter how much I progressed...or not. Funny enough, last CoD SP Campaign for me was Ghosts that I was working on - yet I do have all the newer CoD's except WW2 (buy cheap, play later).

BL games & UbiSoft games can be anywhere from 20-60 hours or more...so, that don't help if they pop these open-world games and their clones out all the time. Same can be said about GTA and their clones, also.

I absolutely loved Borderlands 1 & 2 as well, and then when I was done with 2 and a bit of the DLC I have had no desire to play BL again for a very long time.

I played a ton of Borderlands/2/TPS and got pretty burnt out on it. It's really my fault for getting caught in the MASSIVE grind of each game. I have a propensity to want to complete things, which is probably not good for this series for one big reason: It's essentially the same game across three titles. It's just too much.

If I had picked a character (instead of all of them) and just played through the main game and the best of the DLC I probably could have avoided the BL-fatigue.

I will say that TPS did add a few nice twists to the gameplay and it does have a good Claptrap DLC that I keep meaning to complete.

Have yet to play Undercover. It's still sitting in Ye Olde Backlogge. I've played most of the others though and more or less echo the sentiments of those that have already posted. The first Marvel was a lot of fun. It's probably my favorite.

In general, the older titles are more linear and have mumbling characters, while the newer games lean towards a larger, more open hub and have actual dialogue.

Just a little.

BL2 burnout not only killed my interest in Borderlands, it killed my interest in loot-based games entirely. Six years later and I still want nothing to do with The Division, Destiny, Warframe, Path of Exile, etc.

I thought it was just a step back from BL2. All three Borderlands games are fun, but I thought BL2 was the only game that was really great.

I think also that when you combine the fact that it was seen as a lesser game/spin off and the fact that people were probably still playing BL2 considering the last headhunter pack had come out like 5 months before BLTPS released, and BLTPS came out just two years after BL2...it's not surprising it didn't do great. Honestly in retrospect it seems like a terrible idea. A spin off title released two years after a game that encourages a long time investment and was supported with ample dlc? ? I'm surprised tbh that it got greenlit for when it did. If they released it in like, late 2015 or early 2016 when people have actually had time to pine for a new Borderlands title it probably would've done better.

That's why I couldn't get into it.
I'd just played through Borderlands and it's DLC and Borderlands 2 and it's DLC.
I probably should give it a second chance at some point.

Maybe it has something to do with the crazy annoying English kid that talks to you constantly for the first third of the game. I enjoyed the game and low grav and the dlc but thinking of starting a new game and dealing with hours of that kid until his quests are done turns me off completely. Don't know if I have ever played a game where a character annoys me as much as he does, he has nothing on tiny tina or mr torgue.

I really wish I had saved info from Raptr before it died so I would know my actual hours played but I did... I have 63 of 70 achievements in the original, this includes the DLC. I played it on the 360. Borderlands 2 I played on both platforms (I have 43 of 50 achievements on 360, none in the DLC), I have 24 hours played on PC. I think if I had "copied" my character over from 360 to PC I would have gotten father in it. I did play the Psycho class in PC which was/is fun in its own right but Commando and turret is likely more my play style. I still hjaven't played TPS... but now own all the DLC for all the games on PC.

I actually really enjoy loot based games. If you can find enjoyment in the grind, and you can keep yourself from buying other games (ha!), its actually a great way to save money while gaming in the long run.

Marvel Heroes I got 2000 hours out of and every time I watch a marvel movie or TV show I pine for a chance to play it again. (Obviously without the console patch that ruined the game at the very end.)

TC's Division 1000 hours. I still visit it at times. I really need to with the cosmetic unlocks for Division 2 being added to the game.

Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr 130 hours. Ever want to play a Diablo game set in the 40K universe? A need to get Forza Horizon 2 played before Horizon 4 comes out has made me push this to the side for now. (It could use some work from the developers too but its not as bad as reviews say... People just want instant gratification.)

And of course mentioning Forza brings light to my other time sink... Racing games.

Forza Motorsports 7, I have 188 hours in.

Forza Horizon 3, over 300 hours in.

I honestly feel I like decompressing with mindless action/repetitiveness more than a great story (I think Mass Effect 3 at release was my last RPG I really played) or games that require concentration like the souls series I've just never been able to get into. I did like Demon's Souls but playing it crippled my hands so I had to stop.

That kid wasn't annoying to me, but if you dislike British kids or stereotypes of British kids then I guess I can see that. Tiny Tina was far more annoying imo. And you had good dialogue between Pickle, The Skipper, and the Bosun. The characters and script reminded me of a Monty Python take on Mad Max, and I really liked that.

There's hardly anything to the Headhunter DLC, so following up with a real story in the form of TPS that delineates Jack's rise to power was a welcomed addition to the canon. And the game is so closely connected to BL2 that waiting a few extra years sounds like an even worse idea, since fans would lose interest in a story they already know the outcome of. Two years is plenty of time to get through BL2 and start playing TPS, which is how it's intended. It's also not a step back; everything combat-related is the same, and you get to double jump, fly short distances, and do a ground pound.

What you said makes sense as the reason why people didn't even give it a chance. I get burnt out on sports games and GTA clones very easily, but I could play BL and Dark Souls style games all day. Just comes down to personal preference in the end.

1280.1 hours invested in the Borderlands franchise on PC. All characters played through on each game's respective highest modes. Both excited and dreading BL3.

On a related note, I re-sorted my steam games/categories again, this time by using HLTB metrics. I have way more 50+ hour games that I actually want to play than I can handle.

I liked Battle Chef a lot. However, about two-thirds of the way through you get to play the story mode as a different character, and I was kind of disappointed when you didn't get to play as more characters. I think more are playable in multiplayer, but I don't have any friends.
Just got to this point in the game and I'm also disappointed with the way they handle the character change. It all happens very sudden and out of nowhere.

"Congratulations, Mina has reached her lifelong goal of becoming a Brigadier! We hope you enjoyed this character's journey for the first two-thirds of the game. But you know what would be really awesome? If you played as Thrash! Remember Thrash? He's cool. Let's see what he was up to while Mina was expelled. BTW, hope you weren't accustomed to Mina's fast-paced combat because everything is about to slow down and get clunky."

It's one thing to introduce multiple playable characters gradually over the course of the game, but 7 hours in? And with two chapters to go?

Still adore the game as a whole. Battles are ridiculously tense. So many times that I've served up the final dish with just seconds left on the clock.

I actually played some Forza Horizon 3 over the weekend on my SC15 laptop. Running at High at 1080p, this game looks great and is running at around 70-100fps w/ G-Sync. Silky smooth. Addictive as can be - I seem like I'm always tripping over races to do; boards to smash; races to create and take on race types/conditions/styles that over players set-up; barns to find w/ cars; etc etc. You get points and scored for everything just when driving around, even more so than the awesome TDU2 (TDU2 takes too long to get really going, IMHO - as great as it is) would do. Can race racers just when you run up next to them and get a race going, one-on-one style. Seems like there's always something awesome to do or find around every damn corner and street. This game's a blast.

I've played a good deal of racers over the years - a lot of NFS games, Burnout Paradise TUB, TDU2, etc etc. Unfortunately, never played any of the NFS: Underground series. I got in at NFS on the PC with NFS: Most Wanted (Black Box). NFS: MW (Black Box), NFS: Carbon, and TDU2 are some of my fav. open-world racers - but, I think I may have found something even more amazing & special w/ FH3.

Why did you skip the Underground series? Those two games are my favorites and two of the best.. and wtf is Black Box? Do you mean the superior original Most Wanted, the one that came out in 2005?

As good as Foriza Horizon 3 is, I miss the linear racers like Burnout 3 or Burnout Revenge. I want another arcade racer like that without all of the open world shit tacked on, but they don't make them like that anymore.

Black Box was the name of the developer of Most Wanted 2005. I just looked up the year, since I forgot it.

Why I skipped Underground series, still eludes me. Yeah, I heard those were great. I might not've been really into racers on the PC yet, for some damn reason.
