Why the fuck would I care what someone else eats? You don't have to like anything, but if I don't like it, that should only matter to me.

To break up the pizza Vampire Survivors released free DLC with SaGa: Emerald Beyond characters and such surprisingly. Weapons can even glimmer which is cool. Seems totally random, but that is pretty cool. It's also available on the PS and probably other places Vampire Survivors has come out.

Ironically.....I am eating Hungry Howies Pizza as I read this post

Also a rule is to wait for the first big DLC/expansion to get a more complete game. I'm very glad I skipped it and will come back after it's very cheap (unlikely for a while) or it's discounted with the first major DLC (likely). I love Civilization games and I do agree playing the previous version cheap is good, especially with boat loads of DLC like Civilization 6.

Some additional (completed game) updates (that I forgot) from the bunker....

Cyberpunk 2077 2.0/2.1 version - (Rating 9) - Big fan of the TTRPG (Mike Pondsmith in da hizzouse, yo!!!), Really liked this game. Great voice acting, loved the large city...liked the story/missions. Would have been disappointed I think if I bought it day 1...3 years earlier....but I didn't so...go, me!!

Cyberpunk 2077 - Phantom Liberty DLC (solid 9) - Interesting story, pretty long, good voice acting...

Ghost of Tsushima (8.5/9) - Great game. I would rather play this again than go back to AssCreed: Shadows. I feel the combat in Ghost is more..eh...polished? than AC: Shadows. I spend all my time in Shadows fighting the camera angle and trying to get my dumbass from attempting to not climb shit or jump into haystacks in the middle of combat.

Robocop: Rogue City (8) - Solid game, great if you are a fan of the original RoboCop movie. Great voice acting, sound effects, and fairly solid game play and story. Need to get to Terminator: Resistance....

Why Walter, where are your low rated games? You only ever mentioned 8's and 9's. IS THIS YOUR HOMEWORK, LARRY?!!?!?!?

Anyway....I do include some (like Shadows). But many I just put down, incomplete, and run away from (Drug Dealer Simulator, Contraband Police....)
They're not necessarily turrible....but they end up annoying me or worse yet, boring me and I peace-out.....

Coming soon: Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (currently 35hrs in)

There's no low scores there b/c you picked all awesome bangers - i.e. CP 2077 and its DLC/expansion, Robocop: Rogue City, Deus Ex MD (even despite its crap-ending), and also Ghosts of Tsush. - yeah, these are all 8.0+ games to me. All awesome games.

Granted, I ain't played Tsush - but heard its great, so this all makes sense to me.

I just finished Robocop this past week and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great all-around game made even better with the respect and love they showed to the IP.

Same goes with Terminator Resistance. I also played this earlier this year and once again, a really solid game that also highly respects the IP they're using. If you enjoyed Robocop I'm fairly certain you'll enjoy Terminator as well.

I'm torn on Robocop, Terminator, and Cyberpunk. They look like amazing games, and I think I even saw the Alex Murphy edition on sale for like $10 today - but I have so many games, and...the backlog...
I think Terminator was bundled and RoboCop has too. They'll be in cheaper bundles sometime this year.

I doubt Cyberpunk ever gets bundled in a reasonable value anytime soon.

So obviously buy them all now and play the same game you've booted up for the past four years. As is tradition.

(Total $2353.69, Old Spend (before April 17th 2015 $346.40)

Actually anticipated that it would be a lot more 🙃
I've spent about $770, but does this include EVERYTHING? If so a big chunk of that would be for my Steam Deck. I think I have bought a lot more keys from Fanatical/Humble through bundles than directly from Steam.

$2216.91

Overall game purchases are much, much more than that, however. My spreadsheet shows $3200 on bundles and $5900 on individual purchases over the course of 13 years. Of course, not all of that was solely for my account as it includes purchases for my family, purchases for other clients and keys I've sold or given away.

Kinda depressed now. I'm gonna find a nice banana and curry pizza to wash away this feeling.

I do not think it includes keys that are from other sites. I think it is only those items bought directly from Steam Store Front. Quite possibly it doesn't even include the Humble Choice Bundles because how would they valuate what each game "cost"?

Huh, $1120 over less than 23 years. Considering I usually got a deal on credit whenever I did buy direct off Steam, can assume about 10% less that amount was actually spent so about a grand. $44 per year at that rate which is less than any new release during that time period. Most everything I bought on there was actually via sales and predominantly indie or AA. TBH I'm shocked it's actually that high. My library is only 170 games and quite a bit was from bundles, CD key redemption or just free. Seriously questioning the data here because that feels too high for how little I've used Steam.

OMG, figured it out via previous post. $650+tax of that was the LE Steamdeck I bought my wife from Christmas a year ago lol.

Bwahahahahah... Total Spend: $7041.75

That includes my Steam Deck, though, so it's very reasonable...

*looks at # of completed games....

*looks at deal websites...

*gets out wallet...
I mean, to be fair, that's over 20+ years. All told, including other platforms, figure I've spent $10-12k on games. I don't see that as being an unreasonable amount to spend on my main hobby, over that length of time.

Poor wording on my part, I know that it doesn't include keys purchased outside Steam directly. I was just wondering if that total includes non-game purchases (i.e. Steam Deck/dock). If so, I've spent only $254.68 on games directly from Steam. My library has 666 games.

Might want to buy one more game...like Jesus Christ Simulator:LOL:

I was late to the "Steam" game since I preferred physical media. I bought a gaming laptop in 2017 and discovered I had no disc drive. I learned that it was pretty much standard to not have a disc drive at that point so I caved lol. I am shocked by the total in just 8 years since I never buy anything at full price. I did buy the LCD Deck at launch and the OLED deck at launch so maybe that explains some of it.

Let's not talk about physical media....

TotalSpend $4579
Games 5012

I can't imagine what these numbers would be if we could factor in bundles. I'm pretty sure all of us here have spent as much or more on them than we have on Steam directly.

And I don't know about the rest of you, but very few of those were anywhere near full price.

I have my collection on Deku Deals. I included all digital and physcial games (I stopped trading in to GS mid PS4 console life) and the number there is not pretty.

I list every game (Nintendo, Xbox, Sony); even those thorugh PS plus (only the ones I decided to get. Example, this month I did not get Texas Chainsaw Massacre) in which I put in the cost as $0.00. According to them I spent $11,976, but the "value" is $21,908

Oh my $8708.52 for me with approx 8754 games. I think around 2000 maybe more are bundle trash I've acquired so much over time. I do buy too many visual novels though. I need to classify about 1000 games though and many are in my trash/retired/don't play categories on Steam for me.

I do the same. Helps me avoid re-buying games I already own. I got excited when I heard STEAM was coming to DEKU but it just imported my wishlist instead of integrating it as a separate library (STEAM wishlist games will notify you when XBOX/SWITCH versions go on sale).

I believe this amount with all the reviews of new games you post for us to enjoy :)

Botanicula is free on Epic Game Store for about a week. Next week's free game is CHUCHEL.

Also look out for a Blue Prince review. I'm abandoning the game as I just about earned the ending but ran out of energy in game. I'm just going to look up the ending on Youtube. Probably gives a preview of what I think about the game.

My feelings on Blue Prince from the Xbox thread:

17 runs into Blue Prince and I'm pretty fed up with it. I have 3 puzzle solutions where I'm trying to dig for the right combo of rooms to pop back up to complete them. Even when consistently getting 25-30 rooms per run and ending with 20+ steps to spare, the game's RNG has completely stymied me. Cool concept, it needed a better way to manipulate the room RNG.

Basically, if you have more patience for the RNG and like puzzles, it's good. I ran out of patience to have the game gate me from doing the puzzles.

Blue Prince Review after FINALLY beating it after 19.8 hours. It was a very frustrating journey where I went from being excited to just feeling miserable near the end.

First of all this is a first person rogue lite exploring game. The rogue lite is drafting rooms in this mansion where you are a nephew and trying to find a special room to claim your inheritance. Rooms are filled with items (gems for buying rooms, gold coins for buying stuff from shops, keys for unlocking doors and other special items you'll figure out how to use). There are certain classifications to each room with them corresponding to a color such as brown rooms being hallways. You generally get to use each room in your drafting pool once, but over time get more rooms, and have to solve puzzles to try to get to the mystery and eventually the hidden room to claim this place. There are puzzle rooms (not very many) that get repeated over and over that you will tire of. I was sick of the dart puzzle by the end. It's recommended to take notes for every note/page/whatever found as it likely leads to clues to figuring out one time puzzles in the dungeon. I did feel good figuring out these puzzles and making notes, so that part of the game was fine. There are many parts I don't like which I'll go through in a different section.

The music/sound/graphics are all good enough although the music is mainly ambient and does come out now and then. Your movement in the mansion is alright controlled with mouse and keyboard although you run very slow. The main gameplay is drafting rooms with certain rooms and trying to not get dead ends which make you lose. You also need to keep a good supply of keys and gems with coins being useful as well. The RNG of this rogue lite part becomes a nightmare over time. Sometimes you want to solve a puzzle in a room, but it's missing rooms that need to be in line with it. When you finally get to where you can beat the game (use a guide when you get a certain special item that's very obvious as I wouldn't have figured out one of the puzzles at all without it). At that point I was tired of the game and about to give it up. I gave it another hour or so and luckily in my 3 runs I did at the end (one I reached it but never got something happening) I made it to the ending. The ending I kind of predicted and it wasn't amazing IMHO.

I feel this game loves to waste your time. Every day does a slow pan to the entrance with some music and I forget to mention there is an energy system that you keep up with food and certain rooms. If you don't reach places with enough energy you will faint and have to start a new day. Also if you unlock a certain area you waste energy going there too before even going around the mansion. Your movement is slow and some of the puzzles become infurirating. The puzzles are annoying, but can be done. RNG for items and rooms will drive you bananas and even when you know what you need to do to get the ending, you still have to play by the games RNG and rules so it may take a few times to get the ending even if you potentially unlock it.

Overall I would say this game is worth playing maybe if you like puzzles and it's bundled in a cheaper bundle. There is some frustrating things and some puzzles are very hard to figure out on your own. So much wasting time and slowness. If I could quick travel or something in the place I would have saved hours. My time for the game is also about an hour over what I played as I left it on because you cannot save and quit or it will END YOUR RUN. This is bad design and makes some runs very annoying. I liked the game a decent amount for the first say 10 hours or so, but those last few hours were torture for me to see a lackluster ending. This had potential, but it just had a bit too much repetition. 6.5/10

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
Rating 8/10

Pro's
  • Looks pretty good (disable DX12 or mucho-crashy) for 9 year old game
  • Interesting/engaging main plot
  • Like that you can choose your approach (e.g. combat, stealth)
  • Like the 15min video recap of Deus Ex: HR for those morons who played that game 2+ years ago and can't remember a damn thing

Con's
  • Navigating the map is cumbersome
  • Side-missions: what triggers them
  • objectives not always clear
  • Ends on kind-of a cliffhanger or maybe a "To be continued...." (Which is most likely not going to happen.....EVAR)
I put about 50hrs into Deus Ex: MD. I enjoyed my time with it....getting "Pacifist" (didn't kill anyone) on my run-through. I like the stealth in the game (as I did in HR). I didn't really put anything in to the "Deep State" powers that are unlocked, perhaps I should have (Tesla was pretty cool).

At this point in my life, I have a love-hate relationship with (weighty??) in-game choices. Even though many are "illusion of choice", I like how they can take the game in a different direction....but I also want to know what I missed. One example of this is at the end of the game where I chose to beat up the big bad vs saving the 1%'ers. They kept on telling me that would cause the latter groups death. Ok fine, I'll accept that trade-off. After I stealth-chop the big bad, the radio-voice says I should go check on the 1%'ers. I kind of take my own sweet time to get there, stealth chopping augs on the way to where the 1% were celebrating. When I get there they are dead (from poisoned champagne)...no big surprise. However, I later learned by watching some You-tube endings, you can beat the big bad AND save the 1%'ers...ummmm...ok....I guess there is a 10min timer after you defeat big bad to get to the meeting room and knock the champagne out of their greedy hands. Would have been niced to get a heads up from radio voice that "Hey the 1% is almost done giving his speech you still have time to save him/them"....ah well...

There are some cool side quests, which many times wouldn't be there one minute and then later just passing through it's like "STOP ADAM, SIDE QUEST NOW AVAILABLE"...ummm...ok? I don't know...other games feel more natural with side-quests and how they are introduced.

At about th 40hr mark I was pretty much done wanting to play. Which isn't bad in the grand scheme of things, I probably should have wrapped up the main plot earlier....

The game shows its age in quest design and some gamplay aspects (e.g. cut-scene for every stealth knockout where todays games just work that into the "live" gameplay), but it is still really playable for a 9 year old game. It has great voice-acting, sound and music.

I'll miss Adam Jensen and his quest to bring down the Illuminati, truly a shame a sequel is very unlikely.

Walter out.
