About time this thread got back on topic. Also: GIMME!

Really? I thought we were done with this joke already, guys.

EDIT:
Has there ever been another Groupees bundle in a BAB format that had a high tier? This feels concerning.
Nope, I think this is the first one.. which hopefully isn't used for the Retro bundle next week..

I don't think I've bought any of these Shiny Loot bundles, they're about as bad as the Crapsule Computers bundles.

I'm actually kinda tempted to grab Tower of Eglathia. It seems to combine elements I like from the old ASCII roguelikes with a little bit of inoffensive modernization, at least from watching the included trailer.

I don't really know anything about Shiny Loot, though. Is there anything I ought to know?

Meh... might be worth it if I didn't already have SotS: The Pit. The DLC for it hasn't really hit an impressive sale yet, so this is the cheapest the base game + the DLC has been yet.

$1.74 wasn't cheap enough?
$1.24, actually. I missed that GMG sale.

Even then, the Gold Edition DLC hasn't been very cheap. Even at the lowest prices, the cheapest you could have gotten the base game and all DLC for would have been around $6... I guess this is a pretty good sale on it.

It was $1.74 before on Amazon for the Gold edition with all of the DLC, I think it was a price mistake though. That's what Neuro was referring to.

WHOA, look at all those game I already own!!
Yeah, even the newbie (me), has 3 of 6, and 2 of the ones remaining are games with no available keys (Tower of Eglathia will at least get a Steam key if it gets greenlit)

Can't have enough Hero Siege
Seriously, even in my short tenure this has to be third of fourth time i've seen it in bundles.

Technically, Rush Bros. is a roguelike, so I think we can expect it as a bonus
There's only one bonus apparently and it's called Kilgazar (it's on Desura, so expect a Desura key). It's not on Greenlight.

They have a rep here on CAG. Seems like a nice guy who isn't bound by PR-friendly bullshit like some other reps. I got in on the Shinyloot Bundle 2, and all games were either DRM-free, or came with keys AND DRM-free versions.

Unfortunately they recently announced going back on their promise of always having a DRM-free option for their game (in addition to keys).. so, yeah. Now they lose the thing that made them stand out.

The bundle I got had keys for 6 of the 9 games (3 Steam, 3 Desura), so no big deal. I think they promise to add keys if greenlit or some such.

This bundle only has keys for 3 of the 6 games (all Steam), 1 DRM-free keyless game, 1 game with DRM but also keyless and 1 game DRM-free without keys that is on Greenlight. So unlike the bundle I bought, the majority of the games are stuck on ShinyLoot...

Wow, someone finally created a Mooby bundle.
I already gave him Hero Siege. He somehow managed to avoid getting it prior to that which is quite a feat.

Right, Amazon mistakenly gave out the Gold edition as the regular one on a cheap sale so it was cheaper to just get that than buy the DLC even if you already owned the base. Also it was fairly cheap at GG over the holiday sale too. Depending on if you had the Oops discount and/or were buying other cheap DLC and games anyway for the buy 3 get 4 the SotS DLC was a fairly decent deal there too I recall.

Motte Island finally launches through Steam now.. and for some reason when you click on "CD key" in your library, it generates a new Steam key.. so everyone basically got 2 copies for free.
I just get a "Requesting key..." message so either they have fixed the glitch or the key retrieval system is broken.

Is the Sanctum Season pass any good? What about Super Sanctum TD?
Season pass is supposedly worth getting if you like Sanctum 2, and at this price it's hard to say it's not worth it.

Similar thing with SSTD, it's a by the numbers tower defense game with some Sanctum overtones, that while not amazing or necessarily innovate is enjoyable if you enjoy TD games. At less than bundle pricing, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it if you're a fan of the genre, but if not you probably won't find anything in it to make you one.

Motoki hooked me up with a SSTD key so now I'll probably grab the season pass. I haven't played it yet, but I am a sucker for those types of games. I'm a huge TD fan also. Thanks for the info.

You know, I kinda liked Sanctum and I have yet to try Sanctum 2 that's been sitting in my backlog for some time now. I need to find some motivation to play more of my games. Anyway, I found Sanctum to be a competent first-person tower defense game. The enemies are a little generic (though weird) and the weapons/towers aren't terribly interesting, but it was all fairly polished. There aren't that many games just like this, so it's worth a try if it looks interesting to you.

NinjaSquirrel told me it's a game best played co-op...so maybe.. you and me.. maybe.. well.. you know... :grouphug:

Daily Deal
Sanctum 2: Complete Pack - $24.99 $2.49 [customspoiler=Includes]

[/customspoiler]
Sanctum Collection - $18.99 $1.89 [customspoiler=Includes]

[/customspoiler]
Super Sanctum TD - $3.99 $0.39
I highly recommend Super Sanctum TD for the price. I bought it at that price the last time it was on sale (before GMG gave it away for free recently), and played it when GMG had rewards for it. Easily worth the 39 cents if you can't get a free key from someone who got the GMG promo. Good stuff. I missed the Humble Jumbo bundle so I don't have Sanctum 2 base, otherwise I'd buy the DLC in a second at that price. I'm hoping it gets bundled again, unless a CAG has a spare key from that bundle I can trade/buy for them on the superincrediblycheap?

Can I watch?

[customspoiler=?]Because my GPU will probably shit itself actually trying to play the game.[/customspoiler]

Just sent out another bunch of Motte Island keys (not all have been sent yet).

Can you guys please check your junk mail too?

Please quote this message if you've received it and let me know if it appeared in Junk or not.
I received mine in my normal inbox on Lycos 13 hours ago.

So Carlmundo's group is doing a 'vote for this game on greenlight and get a chance to win a Steam key for it' thing now. Granted they are giving away 200 copies so it's not like it's one or two but I think it's really lame and slimier than even just out and out buying everyone's votes.

I'll pass. I'd rather just pay 50 cents and get it in a bundle. If I actually semi-cared about that game that is.

To be honest, if this works and that game gets in relatively soon I think that's going to be the new thing. Why give 2,000 keys out to buy votes when you can just as easily get in giving out 200 keys?

I know nobody reads my posts, but this is why I asked Carl straight up what the benefit of assembling such a massive group is (by providing free giveaways by being a member). One of my hypotheticals was that it would serve as a "personal army" to push games through Greenlight. It looks like that may be what the group's going to turn into. It seems the original (everyone gets a key for their vote) promo was just a way to get everyone in the group, and these "vote for a chance to win!" giveaways will be the norm now that they have the numbers (the group got two games through Greenlight already). It's kind of genius (vote for a chance to win costs the devs far less), but it really leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

It'll work Moto, because it's not like it costs any Steam user anything to vote. All the users in the group aren't affected negatively. But it's a really bullshit advantage against other devs in Greenlight, At least with being in a bundle, you vote because you bought the game already and just want it free on Steam, it's an advantage but it's not as dishonest (as it puts it on the bundle purchaser to vote if they want). I mean, even the original idea (get a Steam key for voting), at least made it so you get a free Steam game (so the dev benefited far less), instead of a "chance to get one".

I hate to rain on anyone's parade, but I hope this kind of promo gets banned by Valve. I know "Greenlight is going away soon" and all, but this idea needs to go before the copycat groups show up.

Edit: I am no way condemning people who voted in the games (I did vote for the ones that provided free Steam keys), just the devs who feel they can buy votes with a limited batch of keys. I won't be voting for any game that does this kind of promo, much like Motoki.

Edit 2: Disregard. Was an honest mistake Carl.

Thanks Bobby,

I was going to say something myself but then thought.. eh Greenlit is going away soon why bother. Thank you for summing it up though.

Nb - posting this on mobile.

Is anybody else having problems viewing CAG on a PC? Whenever I click a followed topic (e.g. This one) it redirects me to a yahoo! search page for "steam signature card".

Is something untoward happening?
