Whoah, Gray Matter just got added to Steam. It's only been Greenlit for nearly a year now.

*Edited to add: I suppose it would stir another flame war shitstorm if I tried to ask Josh in the Amazon thread about the possibility of existing owners of that game on Amazon getting Steam keys.
Could you get on Gamersgate while you're at it? :)

You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.

Edge of Space - 847GT-EWNJZ-NYFBM
Apparently Steam won't tell me what game it was if I already have it installed.

To be fair, existing owners should get Steam keys.

True, but I really doubt we'll see them directly from Amazon or Gamersgate. (Anyone else sell this? Shiny Loot? Greenmangaming?)

We might have some luck asking the publisher directly, though.

I for one promise to support you 100%.

Since I guess no one looked at the picture, Blood Dragon III: Vietnam War 2 was teased. Considering the original Blood Dragon was announced on April 1st.. this may be legitimate. :bouncy:

Mooby is that you? (out of context quoteless reply)
No, but I did kinda hope for a Squeenix Humble today. Maybe I'm channeling my inner Mooby. Mooby and Bobby are pretty close in terms of letters.

I looked at the pic, it's just April Fool's so I'll wait for something else.
I was originally skeptical, but after some thinking I don't know, it's not super in-your-face about it, so it might not be a joke and like I said, that game announcement history is there. I mean Blood Dragon easily could have been just another April Fools' joke itself. I guess we'll see. Any news about whether or not Mr. Fishy was fucking with us?

Awww... You beat me to it. I loaded up Steam, saw it, and promptly did an imaginary spit take (wouldn't want to actually spit out my beverage on my laptop. That'd be bad news). About fucking time.

Well I caught up in the thread, quoted about 4 posts, pushed the button to multiquote them, and they all disappeared, so never mind that.

fuck you CAG 3.0.

Need dat Optimus Prime dlc soo bad. Batman Blackgate Deluxe is pretty good, its another 2d metroidvania.  I think i might get Goat Simulator cause its so stupid

Who was it a while back that was complaining about how the community named the filth dragon in Agartha (that we eventually did get to fight) "Flappy" in The Secret World? I've done some research, and it turns out his last name is Ness (related to Loch Ness Monster), and his middle name is Peabody, so that would make him Flappy P. Ness. Feel Better? :)

Thank you good, sir. Got it ordered. Since I've completely blow up the 25 dollar complete pack (while on sale) for myself now I wonder if I should look at more of the Valve sale on Gamefly. (I have gotten Portal, Team Fortress 2, and Half-Life 2 for free, and paid for the L4D(s))

Honestly, her bust line has nothing to do with hate/dislike for the game... (and also there's nothing wrong with her preTR 2013 breast size. It works well on the stylized female form they had. It would not have looked right on a realistic model.)

The hate comes from the fact that its a poor Tomb Raider game... Note the use of the words "Tomb Raider Game" as there is nothing wrong with the current TR game outside of the misuse of the name attracted to it.

A) There are no Tombs. There are no real puzzles (only one of the side challenge rooms has any challenge and its only because of the timing needed to complete it), secrets are nonexistent (a cow bell goes off anytime you approach one of these challenge rooms so even the blind cannot miss them... I would go with the unobservant... but really how do you miss all the chalk scrawled on the walls next to these caves?), and there really is no sense at anytime that you are the first human to explore these areas since a bygone time.

B) "Real" TR games are 80% (might be a bit on the low side, to be honest, and the early TR games its extremely low) about exploration/platforming/puzzles and the rest is about combat... This game is easily the reverse.

Uncharted was always quickly (and wrongly) compared to the TR series... Even the early Uncharted games where exploration/puzzles light. The puzzles where simple story related but they where never meant to stop you from advancing and make you think. (Really, a far better comparison to Uncharted is the Gears of War series... but that's getting off topic.) but, now, the TR reboot as easy comparison to Uncharted.

Is mimicking Uncharted a bad thing? No, not really. Uncharted is a hell of a series and the TR games could (and did) learn allot from them... From framing a better narrative, from integrating other characters into Lara's experience, to being a cinematic spectacle, etc... But I think a title change/swap was in order. Lara Croft and Tomb Raider are synonymous with each other. What would have been wrong with it being called Lara Croft: Subtitle Here (A Survivor is Born, The Lost Island, etc) with the sequels being called Lara Croft 2: The Next Subtitle?

And before you think... "Inmate that's silly! Stop splinting so many damn hairs!" stop and consider title they did go with... Tomb Raider. (Like nothing has come before it...)

Anyhow, for those who would rather just look at pictures instead of reading... A simple and complete comparison between the first TR and the reboot:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEN5obhFRj4

Note: In the first you did kill a fair amount of wildlife... but even when added its still a hell of allot lower bodycount.

So in the end...
TR 2013 was a
good to
great game... but not a good TR game.
maybe I smoked away those brain cells, but I had forgotten how different the early tomb raider games were from this newest one.

Why yes they did... :) They didn't view it as a proper TR game.

I completely every challenge room in under 30 seconds minus the second one... Which dealt with timing but I certainly knew what needed to be done.

All that's a far cry from entire levels being a single puzzle... Like seen in previous and proper TR games.

[*]Dead Island: Riptide - $29.99 $7.49

bought the ripper mod dlc

Shannon Tweed's Attack of the Groupies is now available and 15% off ($4.24) for the first week.

I'm still trying to make sense of this.

I'll wait for the Groupees Groupies Bundle.
wow, steam won't add seduce me but will allow a game featuring a washed up 70's porn star

Didn't know Battle Block Theater beta had voice chat always on by default..

So yesterday I was laughing like a maniac and Bernardo didn't tell me  :wall:

I'd just like to say that (being a Defiance player) the deluxe version of Defiance is worthless. Just get the normal version and save your money for the DLC if you end up liking it that much.

It is a fun game... feels like a 3rd person Borderlands MMO.

It really didn't draw me in, but I may have just not been in the mood for a shooter. I mean to jump back in for another shot.

It's funner if you like the show, since the episode missions tie into the show's story. But I dunno, it's a fun little fast paced TPS with great co-op, massive giant bosses, open exploration, etc. And it's not P2W.

Same here. I have 49 hours logged but I really didn't like it.

I didn't watch the TV show either. I did like the mini-events/games within but that's about it.

That's a lot of time for something you didn't like..... I'm just saying....

It's a disturbing trend.

Quick question: which Steam thread regular took 50 hours to decide that they weren't too enamoured with Kingdoms of Amalur?

Serious point: you people need to abandon bad games sooner.

That new Batman game looks pretty cool. Why didn't they port it to PS4?
Its not really new, its a port of the Vita/3ds game that was released last october. Its a pretty good 2.5d metroidvania. It woulda been great to have it on ps4 but it plays excellent on pc with 60fps and nice anti aliasing.

Ding ding ding!

I can appreciate the need to play a game that you paid full price for so you don't feel like you wasted money (e.g. I have 35 hours on Krater) but in Mooby's case we know this simply isn't true. Hence why it ticked me.

:whee:
oh god why would you spend 35 hours on krater, even if you did spend full price on it? and why would you spend full price on it?

do you need therapy?

I got you beat. I have 100 hours in this piece of shit called Lost Planet and I plan to sink another 100 just to confirm it is indeed a putrid pile of shit.

I think I started it three or four times which distorted it a little. It actually became enjoyable for a bit, and I made it quite far into the game. I managed to box off quite a few of the achievements too, they're listed in my "Rarest Achievement Showcase". Which isn't surprising as nobody plays Krater.

...

I should probably play Goat Simulator instead.
