Totally snakeybro'ed this yesterday (via GMG/voucher). I played 3 hours last night and have a few impressions:

+ New characters have pretty interesting skills and play well off of each other (playing as Athena, the gladiator)

+ Some narrative differences during subsequent playthroughs

+ Low grav + accompanying skills/Oz kits are all cool

+ Interesting to see many familiar characters in a different light

+ Lasers!

+ Laser Shotguns!

+ Cryo

- The story is starting off slow

- Levels not as varied

- No real standout new NPCs so far

Huh? Either the game is way short or you're just copy pasting press release stuff.

I think for these type of grindy games with no real story, a lot of players try out the different classes for a short bursts at first to figure out which class they want to use for a full on grind of the game.

I see. I just went straight to Claptrap. Gonna stick with it. Like the random skill generator. Mixes it up a bit.

No, I didn't complete the game, obviously. And I did try out a few of the characters solo and with others. You do get additional dialogue depending on which characters are in your party.

What that line refers to is that there are some narrative differences when you play through the second time (i.e. True Vault Hunter Mode). Clearly, I haven't seen that first-hand since I'm early into the game, but I've read the descriptions of the types of changes and I think it's a good thing and well worth a mention. In fact, I'm going to bet sight-unseen that they should push that even farther in the next game.

That's it. where's the nearest cliff? I'm jumping.

Tomb Raider is on sale and I don't have it yet.

Mooby's Humble Squeenix bundle let me down and I've resisted getting it on sale thus far.

If I were to get it, which version do I buy? I don't need the GOTY do I?
I bought the single player dlc separately when i got the game (I think it's a dollar on sale) and was very disappointed...it adds a tomb, which takes about five minutes to beat, if that. I thought Tomb Raider 2013 was all in all a decent, if underwhelming game.

Still need to play more BL2...started PT2 w/Maya a few weeks back and wasn't feeling it so moved on to other things. In reviews, I've read people knocking it for "more of the same," which I hope isn't too true. Once I start a BL playthrough I do get REALLY into it, but the formula will start to get stale. I feel like it shouldn't take too much to make things more interesting (honestly, the lasers and moon gravity mechanics sound like they might be enough to keep me interested), but I do hope that for BL3 they mix things up substantially.

You can get an 80% off reward for playing over an hour of UFO EU too. I don't know if it's only the first hour that works though. I guess it's worth a try if you really want the coupon.
Did you have to get EU from the GMG promotion to be eligble for EW? Or is it something through Steam?

The thing about this BL is that it's a pre-sequel. It's SUPPOSED to be like the first and second games because that's where it takes place. Even the new additions go against the established story. It's a Gearbox equivalent of the Assassins Creed spinoffs. Expecting something more out of a game that's not even numbered in the series is foolish.

Would love if I could claim my free XCOM EU but GMG has to have the most broken key distribution system ever. No, my credentials are not wrong GMG. Stop telling me that.

Mine still ain't arrived to my e-mail.

Seems like it might never show up or got lost in limbo somewhere.

Thank God for Spoder saving my ass.

for some reason my key came instantly (just voted today). I must say this time around, it was very smooth rather (last yr, it was a run-around for me in order to get Civ V).

I literally have the same username, email, and password for CVG, GMG, and Playfire. I keep getting the wrong info message. I've triple checked all 3 sites and the info is 100% correct. Looks like they just don't want to give me a key.

What a way to shit on me after a shitty day at work. I've always had these problems whenever GMG gives something away for free.

It finally worked for me once I put in the exact e-mail and password I use for GMG.
See above.

I hopped on that page; filled out info; and it said something along the lines of "thanks blah-blah-blah wait up to 24 hours - blah, blah, blah."

You have to be signed up with PlayFire, which is pretty much signing into www.playfire.com with your GMG account user and password and linking your Steam account to it.

After you're signed up, then either get the achievement "And So It Begins..." for finishing the first mission tutorial, or play it for over an hour and you'll get the coupon in your email. Maybe, well probably ... eventually.

The PlayFire thread's over here for more info and a list of current rewards.

would idle it for 1 hour count?

Has anyone played The Evil Within yet? I'm curious if anyone has and what their impressions might be so far. So far all I've heard are mixed reviews.

Thanks for the initial impressions Hal, I can't wait to start playing BL: The Pre-Sequel a bit later. More of the same with lasers and low-gravity... awesome. Borderlands is a video game series I'll always be all in on.

Have a few friends that got it on PC and said it has a lot of problems. Steam reviews support what they are saying. I'd expect some patches or at least mods to fix many things hopefully in the near future.

I've been playin Evil for 2hrs on PS4 and it feels very cinematic with the letterboxing. Good graphics too, but dat fov when your aiming omg so bad
Dost thou even read, bruh?

Nobody in Steam Thread cares much about PS4 version, bro.

We wanna know about the PC version.
Its the same shit -_- Pc version- u can run it at 60 fps and remove black bars. other than that its the same thing. It was developed in mind for consoles first nub.

^ When I got to this part v for some reason it kept telling me the username was taken already (even tho pretty sure I was already registered because it accepted the email I used for voting, etc.). Once I changed it to something else (but w/ the same email) it went through and I got to the next step about the key email being sent.

edit: [1] also didn't have to do Step 3 ^ this year (got Civ V last year)

[2] have never used Playfire but not sure if this ^ counted as signing up

Had tried that too. Still gave me the wrong username/email/password message. I've literally tried everything and it still says the info is wrong. I've given up. GMG can keep it.

Oh please, don't give me Borderlands lore as a reason they can't update game mechanics. Of all franchises with lore that could be screwed around with easily, it'd be Borderlands. The whole thing with it is that it's some wacky game atmosphere...they could easily do something to get around it without be lore breaking. Not to mention that nobody really cares about the game world anyway.

Check your PM.
Tried to say no but you insisted. Thank you. I don't know what the Hell is wrong with GMG but they seriously piss me off with this crap. Missed so much free stuff from them.

btw, I apologize if my posts bothered anybody. Had a seriously bad day at work and now I came home to more GMG problems like I usually have with their promotions. Bleh.

I owe you one for sure Shadow.

i just realize that ÆRENA - CLASH OF CHAMPIONS change from Early Access to Free to Play

I have a Steam key from Groupee Be Mine 11 bundle.. Does anyone know if redeeming the key give you any extra package or item?

a Free to play game gives you card? wut?
There are a few free-to-play games that have cards.

Loadout gave you cards for free.

Warframe, Aerena, TF2, and Dungeonland all gave cards when you spent real money in-game.

I'm sure there are others but I'm too lazy to look it up.

Playing it right now. It's not terrible, but I'm finding it very underwhelming. I'm through only 2 chapters, so still a ways to go, but there's a bit I'm finding fault with. I'm not one to moan about FPS locking or even the forced aspect ratio (which Id consider negatives), but the game is just a bit boring right now. The "standard" enemies are run of the mill zombie type things and they're unnecessarily challenging in the annoying way. The voice acting is also very sub-par, which I guess is to be expected from a Japanese developer as they rarely get good English voice acting.

Its doing mood right and visually it's pretty cool, but again, the only word I can think of off hand is underwhelmed. A complete opposite type of reaction I had towards Shadow of Mordor and Alien Isolation to compare it to two other recent releases. I am still going to play through it and again, Im not very far into it, so it could improve. It's definitely not been scary. Its very gory however.

I wasn't referring to lore but all of the gameplay mechanics. Even as a game developed after BL2, I would scrutinize it if it was as evolutionary gameplay-wise as the second was to the first. It's supposed to happen between the two games and explain more about Handsome Jack. Making such an advance would make this filler a lot better, thus making the completion of the story comparatively archaic as BL1 is to BL2; everyone recommends skipping the first in favor of the second. Criticism in the vein of the aforementioned "more of the same" is EXACTLY what I expect of essentially a 1.5 in the series.

Can you dig it, sucka?
