you guys realize that it just a BETA so why are you guys selling it for 40$? really?
you are the type of people that never should of got into the beta... trying to fully profit from a free beta.

Well I already have CSGO but really silly when I see people trying to sell it for like 40$ when it should be free.. if you really need to sell it most should be 10$ max..

isnt this site call cheapassgamer... really aint cheap for a free beta... even if it limited amounts.

Only reason I ever traded my DOTA2 beta was to get CSGO beta.. which is how I got CSGO by trading 2 copies

EDIT: You are not getting the point of what I am trying to say..ethically you shouldnt sell these.. and why be so greedy selling something you got for free.. when there so many people that would love to try it and willing to give their feedback trying to improve the game... If I got spare copies I would give it to my friends and clanmates.. why be so greedy and be an asshole and sell something I got for free which its only a beta also wouldnt have once beta is over..

man it sad people do buy these beta for 50-100$ sigh.. and i bet they only play like 1 hour and thats it.. and that money not even going to the developers too.. just going to some greedy person.. way to show support

People get extra copes so why not sell them? They aren't going to sell it for $10 and let someone take it and flip it for more. I've seen them go as high as $60-70.

I've never gotten an invite into the beta and would never pay for a beta. I'm just saying it is simple economics for the people who do have the invites. It would be stupid not to sell them.

Another one of those people, I assume? ;)

You may not pay that much for one, but neither would anyone else selling the beta keys, they're just out for the suckers who will.

He's right, beta invites are a privilege, not something to be commodified. The extra keys are "supposed" to be for friends/family members, they aren't meant to be sold. While your point that they may go for $60-$70 may be true, that's at the top of the disgraceful list.

Kudos to those to make $50 off of a game that they got for free, and as a privilege I might add. You make capitalism proud.

Sorry to be an asshole, but your suggestion to sell it for $10 instead of $40 just make you an asshole as well based on how you explain it. You got something for "free", since its free just give it away don't even bother selling or to profit by it otherwise you're an asshole for doing so. Selling it for $1 or $100 is basically the same as you profit by it.

Even the act of trading your 2x Dota 2 makes you an asshole as well, Dota 2 is freely given to you to be given out to friends or clanmates and not to be traded.. What gives you the right to trade it away and profit by it by getting another game that a lot of people consider worth more than $50? Just wait for you to get invited or receive an invite from your friends or clanmates.

This guy is a certified cheap ass, based on his very own explanation... :applause:

Seriously, I don't consider this beta to be free though. You have to do something for them first in able to get it, you spend your time and give them the info they need in a survey. And from that they semi-randomly choose who got in the beta and who doesn't. If you consider using your time to answer surveys = to free then give me your contact details, I have a lot of surveys for you to answer.

i traded 2x dota2 for csgo lol.. so dont know how that make me an asshole...
free beta for another free beta..

10$ wasnt really a suggestion.. but whatever... believe what you want.. i assume you are the type of people that try to rip people off..

anyways enough of my rant...

You mean made as a commodity? Please get down your moral high horse, it was Valve themselves who made it that way as they made the beta invites they gave out as a TRADE-ABLE item which you could trade away for something you want! IF it was only meant for gifting then Valve could easily restrict it to gift-able state only. No one is breaking any morals here and certainly not disgraceful as you're trying to make it out to be.

CS GO is easily selling above $50 even $60, I receive a copy from a trade and I sold it for $45. I don't see anything wrong with that. I didn't scam anyone or rip them off, the buyer clearly know it is in beta and he just wanted to play it early.

I think Bierno just wanted to bring down the CS GO price to $10 or to 2x Dota 2 so he could afford it! lol! Nice try! Wait a couple of months more and the price would go down to the one you want it to be..

Oppss look what I found.. I guess I was correct, the instigator was just trying to bring the price down of CS GO so he could get it for himself. And he brought a friend to help him. Even if it won't sell here, it could easily be sold outside of CAG if you know where to sell it.

Nice try guys. :applause: But ultimately you're just wasting your time..

Okay,
He's a fucking hypocrite who tried for a good week or so to sell his DOTA 2 beta for $45 during the winter sale.
it wasn't an invite (no hypocrisy there),

and okay. ;)

... What?

I'm no hypocrite, the DOTA 2 copy I was selling wasn't an invite. I'm against selling "invites" CS: GO Beta keys are invites, my copy of DOTA 2 wasn't an invite, it was a game that I received from crafting coal and from earning achievements, not an invite. Hence why I'm not a hypocrite for selling it. Not sure what you have against me, but you should consider squashing your childish attempt (to make me look bad?) and get on with your life. ;)

I just love how people on Steam think the comments on their profile some how gives them "rep"

Cracks me up every time.

I got 2 Dota 2 tradable gifts from trading 2 good valuable games ($90 normal price and $30 sale price) then I traded them for other games that I wanted. I don't have Paypal here so "selling" is not an option and even if I could (my brother has PP), I still wouldn't do it

The bottom line is: not everybody selling or trading Betas got them for free ;)

Dotas I have now are not mine but I would trade them for a friend for good offers or I will just leave them in inventory

I still have:

2xDota 2 (tradable)

1xDota 2 (non-tradable)

L.A Noire: The Complete Edition (tradable)

Portal 2 (tradable)

Renegade Ops + 2 DLCs (tradable)

Dirt 3 Steam key

Deus Ex HR Steam key

Back To Karkand BF3 DLC

Eh. Even a system with moderated feedback like here on CAG is no guarantee against getting ripped off.
Eh. Even a system with moderated feedback like here on CAG is no guarantee against getting ripped off.
CAG feedback really has no backing either because like Steam comments, no trade has to take place to leave feedback. Gametz, Amazon, and eBay are the main places I think that have a decent feedback system.

I'm one who really wants the CS:GO beta. Counter Strike 1.5 and up is the only game that I ever played really competitively. I understand why people are selling it for 40+ because people are buying it. IMO its really their choice to do what ever they want with it.

With that said if any of you that have an invite and get desperate, I will purchase it for 25$ If not I'm not going to be mad if I don't get one because eventually there is going to be an open beta.

I will never understand why people cant comprehend the fact the people value thing differently.

True that Yenos, it's the buyer who dictates the price for this things. If no one buys it for sure the price for CS GO would drop (no need to call anyone names for it to drop or make yourself look like a fool ), right now CS GO is selling like hot cakes and if you want it now you have to shell out $45 upward for it, otherwise wait it out for a couple of months the price would surely drop just like DOTA 2. If I'm not mistaken it took 6 months for DOTA 2 to get to this price point, if not longer.

If I can get my hands on CS GO via trade again I would, and I would sell it again for the current market price at that time.

For the bickering on this thread, lets stop it now there is no point to it really. Lets just continue on with the trading.
