This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items, or raincheck "scams." Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. Some info from BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include city, state, store, game, system and price. For example:
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
Super Soup Soufflé, Xbox 360, $4.98

Special thanks to Mephitical for this great tool for locating clearance titles which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

Here is a fairly easy way to check if your local Target has the games on clearance-- often games will not be tagged correctly. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Remember, the lowest known price will be posted since the listed item could be higher or lower at your store. Here are the current deals:

it's also 9.99 new at GameCrazy this week.

oh btw, I saw NHL 2K7 for PS3 at 7.xx and MLB 2K7 on PS3 at 9.xx. If it was 360, I would've bitten in a second on the MLB. Oh well.

No, same here, I checked. Still tons of copies of it here too, if these things are still there after the Christmas shopping rush, they'll probably survive until it hits the $15 mark.

On another note, I found Wii Ghost Squad, with no price on it, but I remembered people on this thread getting $12.48 for it. I took it to the scanner, and it rang up as not in the system. I was going to take it to an employee to try and get a price, but it was the day after Xmas and all the lines were ten people deep so it wasn't worth it.
 
Just got:

DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 2 $7.48
Ghost Squad $7.48

DBZ was labeled $14.98 but the floor scanner said $7.48. I scanned Ghost Squad and it came up as "Item Not Available" so I brought both up the register to see what they would give it to me for. The guy scanned DBZ, then Ghost Squad, got a "hmm" look on his face, scanned Ghost Squad again, pressed a few buttons, and gave me a total of $15.93

Also, they had 360 Tony Hawk Project 8 with a frontlane type barcode over the game's barcode. It also rang out of system. That store and another had 360 SCDA with a white label barcode and it rang OOS at both stores. There were several copies of both at both stores. Why start carrying a specially barcoded game when it won't ring up? I've seen popcap get a special barcode (for the correct price) added on but this was because the standard barcode wouldn't ring up.

Also, 360 Burnout Revenge is 75% off here making it 7.48. 360 Godfather and PS2 Burnout Dominator stayed at 19.98.

Anybody know what 360 Smackdown vs Raw 2007 is going for? Only one store in the area has it and I haven't been that way in a little while so I was wondering what the likelihood is that it's hit 75% off yet.
 
how accurate is this? how is a 1600 XBL card $9.98 when it's being advertised for $17? will it ring up $10 @ register?
 
Snagged Rogue Galaxy for $9.98 at the Birmingham/Inverness location.

Also checked on FFIII DS and Mario & Luigi: Partners in time. They rang up for $39.99 and $29.99 respectively. I suspect the clearance price listed in the OP is no longer valid or it was just some weird random fluke.
 
360 Smackdown vs Raw 2007 7.48 (75%)

GBA Need for Speed Own the Streets Out of system, but hand scanner got 4.98 (75%)

Also, 360 The Outfit is still 9.98.


Glad I went to the only store with Smackdown vs Raw 2007 as they had one copy left and I'm not that up to date with WWE anymore so the roster accuracy doesn't matter that much to me and the reviews for 2008 seem like there was no real upgrades this year so I figured I'd settle for last year's edition. Also snagged FFIV for GBA for 7.48 (75%). They were out of hand scanners up front so they wanted to charge me the same for NFS as they did for FFIV. Left it and figured I may pick it up next time I run errands there and hope a hand scanner is up front.
 
Hey guys, something very interesting. There was an endcap of generically priced games. Two of them were NBA Homecourt for 29.99 (They had the PS3 and 360 version stickered over, just for fun I removed the sticker on the 360 version and scanned it. 14.98 still, for me) and Ghost Squad, restickered for 29.99. I made a frowny face as soon as I saw all of the Ghost Squads were appropriately priced.
Thanks for the additions and price changes, guys! I don't make it out to Target enough to keep track of prices and there'd be way too much for me to have to remember on my own.

The 1600 XBL cards that are clearanced are the blister-packed versions. Most (if not all) Targets are switching to the giftcard style (similar to the XBL game cards) because they don't hold any value until they're scanned at the POS.

If you find the blister-packs, it's worth checking the price.
 
My pleading offer still stands on the Wii Ghost squad - anyone who feels generous and is getting it for $7/$12 I would happily pay $15 plus shipping. I've checked three Targets here and the only clearance games are Shadowrun for PC and a ton of Godfather.

Im pretty sure Lost Planet is at the $15 mark. Strangehold seems to be holding firm at 50% - $25. Ghost Recon 2 is either $25/$35 still.

Question... I thought this game was selling well for Sega? Isn't that what ultimately led them to release House of the Dead 2 & 3 for Wii?

Wow already on clearance! I'm all over it if they have any I REALLLLLY need to watch the Target thread closer but my store sucks and all the $15 clearance stuff still scans $30 as of 12/26. Gonna eat and then run over and check. :D
 
I don't think it's on clearance at all.
Yesterday, 3 Targets (different formats) had this game on an endcap within a cardboard shelf unit and 4-5 other games, shelf tags showed all for $29.99
But, Ghost Squad's UPC is not in the Target POS system just yet.
Hence, not on file and the various prices that have been reported.
I think by Monday's download, this will be fixed - now that all the boards, including ours with this EXTRA thread have posted (see the Target thread) - sigh...so get there now...before the price is entered!
 
This was supposed to be an online only item, and wasn't supposed to be in stores. This is why some stores put it on clearance.. the stores weren't supposed to have it in. On Target.com, when it was in stock, it would say "Online Only".

Hmmm respectfully, I don't think so, these copies are in prepacked units (think BB front lane games) with the same 4-5 other games. The IT/Data dept missed entering this UPC. Each store scans each dept. weekly, this UPC error will be corrected.

This is a misconception. Calling a local Target will not speed up a price correction. At least, not any more than buying the game would. Call and save gas money and the ozone layer - the deal will end when it ends because of a flood of interested people, not because you distracted Minimum-Wage Joe from rubbing his fingers on the digital cameras in the glass case for a few minutes.

Ok, I give up, call, ask staff, bring the error up to as many staff members as possible and Please keep bumping this thread so that it can be copied to SD and FW as quickly as possible.
 
One store I called says that they have 5 in the system but they can not find them.

took my number and said they would call me if they find them. They said the listed price was $9.99

Yesterday, 3 Targets (different formats) had this game on an endcap within a cardboard shelf unit and 4-5 other games, shelf tags showed all for $29.99

Some Targets here have put a UPC sticker over the original odd looking UPC for it to ring up properly, but most haven't. Otherwise it will NOT ring up with ANY scanner period and I had a smart cashier who typed in the number to get the item. Ghost Squad appears to have the same problem although I haven't looked to see if the UPC looks odd like Popcap. I've also seen Splinter Cell DA and Tony Hawk Project 8 both for the 360 with UPC stickers that look like the $20 Virtua Temmis 3 and Monster Madness, but they rang up out of system.

A lot of times when I've had a game ring up out of system the cashier will look for a price on the item like a clearance sticker, they may use a hand scanner (which in this case won't work either) and if I have a second clearance game for the same system they off to sell if for the price of the other game. I've thought about buying a clearance game at 75% at 7.48 (like Eragon or NCAA 07) and Popcap and then return Eragon later, but I don't know if Popcap is worth it since I already have one of the 4 games from live unplugged I got for 4 at Sears. Maybe if I could match it with a $5 Blitz. There are Wii games at 75% off if they've hung around so someone could try it with Ghost Squad.

Assload of NBA NHL 2K7, couple NBA Street PS3 all PS3. 2 Shivering Isles PC $5.48? and couple other crappy things.

Also tried scanning the UPC I posted earlier and it showed as not in the Target system. I got the UPC from Ebays automatic listing thing at the top of game auctions so I can only assume it's right.

Once they take the item out of the computer it becomes a crapshoot. I had luck at my Target about a year ago with this. I grabbed a couple of DS games that rang up OOS. I got lucky and the pharmacist (I was there picking up a prescription for my wife) let me name the price. He asked me if I saw how much it was. I told him it came from the clearance endcap and others over there were $5. He said ok, punched in $5, and I was done.
