This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store.

Picked up Bully (360) for 19.99. Would have liked to wait for it to drop, but it was still in the glass case and was the last one, so oh well.

It doesn't compare. Not a bad game, but this year's Madden is outstanding.

That's funny because that was the same sentiment said last year about Madden 2008. If you want superficial improvements with no change to longstanding problems with the game (i.e. vaccuum catches and blocking, etc.) then Madden 09 is the game for you. Otherwise, a budget priced 2008 version will suit just fine.

It's worth the $15, trust me. I LOVE 09, but 08 is fantastic as well. Pick it up if you can.

Snagged an "as-is" copy of TMNT on Bluray for $7.48 this afternoon. Also saw 3 Wii's in stock. This was at the Chouteau Target north of the river off of I-35 in case anyone is looking for one.
 
I have finally found a problem with Bully(360), I can't find a mission to do but I am only 38% done with the game. Is this the problem that everyone has been talkin about???
 
It's funny about the Blu-Rays. I've never seen a Blu-Ray in any of the 3 Target locations here in Madison. Still hoping to find a few though. I would have probably snapped up TMNT and Die Hard 4 for those prices.

The Super Target in Fitchburg WI has quite a few games right now, but all are at the 30 or 50% price points. Bully, Dark Sector, Madden, Kane and Lynch, The Club. At 75%... I'll be back...

I'm not really a clearance expert. They had stickers on them and wouldn't come up in the self scanners.

Disregard the quote, I found that they do not come up on the map but if you find it in person you can start it.
 
Bully was about $15 at mine and Kane and Lynch was $19.98

Not bad considering I beat Kane and Lynch in 2 days and then traded it in at Blockbuster for $25. I made money for playing a game.

Sounds like an "as-is" clearance to me. Usually if it's a regular clearance the item will have a small red square pricetag indicating the price. If it's "as-is" the item will usually have a long rectangular sticker on the back with a barcode printed on it. It's usually placed over the regular barcode or in my experience they mark trough the original barcode forcing the cashier to scan the one on the sticker.

It had those long rectangular ones.
 
someone on SD said those movies were on clearance as well and I think someone else in the thread confirmed it so I'm assuming it is store wide (and it makes sense since at my Target the BluRay movie section is small and I would think they need the space after a while)

Then it's definitely as-is.

I work at Target, and for a quick explanation, there are two types of stickered discount - a clearance sticker, which will be tiny and orange, and located at the top right of the front of the game. It will display the item number, the clearance percentage (15/30/50/75% off), the original selling price, and the discounted price. The discount is automatically taken off at the point of sale, so even if an item is not stickered correctly, you will still receive the relevant discount.

And then there's the as-is, which is rectangular and coloured orange and white. It will be placed on any convenient spot on the item. Furthermore, a barcode will be on the sticker itself - you will not receive an as-is discount unless that particular barcode is scanned. (To help this, the original UPC barcodes are supposed to be marked through with a permanent marker, or otherwise rendered unusable.) The as-is is used for anything from item damage (e.g., torn boxes, slightly cracked plastic items, whatever is just in good enough condition to keep from being defected) to missing pieces (e.g., missing an item out of a multi-pack) - and the discount changes accordingly.

I'm sure all that info has been posted elsewhere, but I figured I might as well answer your question directly anyway. ^_^

I hope you call bullshit on that. Most clearance stickering is done when an item is returned - so if an item has never been purchased and returned before, it very well might never have received an accurate sticker.

I finally got around to returning the GoW back to Target using the receipt for GoW refresh. To my amazement, before the lady scanned the receipt or the game, she got a pair of scissors and started opening the game. I asked her what she was doing and she told me that many people will do anything for money and that she had to check the game. She checked to make sure that the game was the one that was supposed to be inside and then checked to see if the disc was scratched (it felt like if I was at GS :lol:). I asked her if they would still sell the game and she said "no". :whistle2:s

My guess is that they will seal it back up and put an "as-is" sticker on it. I almost felt bad.

*edit* Finally saw Bioshock (w/ sleeve) on clearance ($27.98). Also, my Target has MP3, RE:UC and Bully Wii at $24.98. I am still waiting for one more drop. The good thing is that they are not stickered and are behind the glass case. :D

Who has the power to make these stickers? Just wondering since in theory couldnt any employee just mark down a video game with lets say "scratches on shrinkwrap"
 
Got a copy of Metroid Prime 3 for $24.98 on Tuesday, such a good deal for a game I won't get around to playing for a while.

Maybe someone can back me up on this but I believe that if it starts with 241 then it is only for the website. Every time I've called about a 241 number, they say the screens says it's only sold online. Dp is supposed to stand for Department so 207 is the department. Again, maybe someone else can confirm this too.
 
I was able to snag Bully 360 and Pro Evolution 360 for 14.98 each. Don't know if Pro Evolution is worth keeping, I've read mixed reviews. Anyone enjoy the game or have an opinion?

207 is definitely the video games section of the electronic department in the B&M stores.

Picked up a copy of Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles - Rings of Fate (DS) for $19.98, and almost picked up the copy of Ninja Gaiden (DS) for $17.98...but I'm holding off for another drop...though it will probably be gone by then.

Same thing happened when I returned a Zune a month ago. I bought it when it was on clearance for $100. They opened the packaging to make sure it was still there. I meant to go back the next day to see if it was on the shelf as-is, but never got around to it.

I was in Target yesterday, they had about 7 copies of Bully:SE for Wii marked down to $34.98 on the clearance rack, it even scanned for that. what gives?

Hide a copy somewhere in-store. Go back every Monday or Tuesday morning when they usually update clearance items.
 
Only one of my Targets had TMNT and they wanted $21.21 I think.
I almost bought it cause I just got a PS3 but held back.
I check out 2 Targets every Monday so maybe those AS-IS prices drop as well.
