Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.
Same here. Two copies on the shelf here for the last month or so at $19.98.
My store finally dropped the price on their Queen Singstars on Friday. I was able to pick up a copy for $9.98. :) Hopefully other stores will follow this week. Also found Batman: AA on the PC for $12.98 and Ghostbusters PC for $4.98.

There are a few Queen Singstars (PS3) for 9.98 and a Batman: AA (PC) for 12.48 at my Target. I'd be glad to pick them up if anyone wants to trade. PM me if need be.

Also I know this isn't the trade thread.

Just scored:

PS3:
Fallout 3
Skate 2 x2
HAWX x2
Singstar Queen x2
GH Metallica x2

Xbox:
FNR 4 x3

...all of these for $9.98/ea. Also snagged a prepaid Virgin Mobile cellphone (to keep as an emergency back up) for $7.xx, and a USB-powered external 80gb HD for $20.xx (perfect for the PS3).

Also saw a bunch of Batman: AA's for the PC; only $12.48; but I've got to use for 'em.

You snooze, you loose!

The was absolutly nothing at my local store today. There were about 10 Tekken 6's last week priced at $15, hoped I would have seen one today for $7.50 but no dice.

my stashed Singstar Queen have been there for 3 weeks w/ no drop, here is to hoping it will finally be today!! I also have it tucked away with a 007:QoS, hopefully its not out of stock by now. Funny thing is about my stash, its been right there on the isle w/ exposed shelves behind copies of a Strawberry Shortcake PS2 game

I did this with quite a few games until they started checking those and made me lose Last Remnant for 10$

why you didn't pick up...$15 is a steal right now.... no body is going to leave this game for $15

Picked up 2 PS3 games today Singstar: Queen $10 and Hawk $10. Still 4-5 copies Resident Evil 5 in glass case at Independence, MO Target.

I kinda figured that there might have been a few left today, trust me I am kicking myself for not grabbing one the other day. Its the cheap ass in me waiting for just one more price drop.
Just as a clarification, I'm not sure how ordering works at most other retail stores, but I've been working electronics long enough at Target to know that we never do any ordering for new copies on a store-by-store basis. That decision is likely made higher up the chain at the district or regional offices... hell, maybe even Minneapolis themselves. The amount a store gets in is almost always tied to its volume/sales.

For example, the smaller stores that don't do as much in sales will get 2-4 copies of a new release, while the SuperTarget on the other side of town will get 8-16 copies in because they handle a lot more traffic.

So, if you're looking for the stores that are more likely to have clearance prices drop quicker, or have games go on clearance sooner, it will be the larger Targets/SuperTargets.
Thanks for the awesome information. I supected it wasn't a high volume store, but all in the NW have been this way. I think the NW area buyers don't buy many as they don't sell many. I find the DCPI and use the inventory tracker. Most of the time @ 50% they are all gone if not before. I score one now and then, but I'm fine shopping at Target for other things. Our Wal-Mart got downgraded from Corporate to a small store and doesn't really carry games anymore, let alone things people actually buy. I switched to Target now, I need to sign up for the red card so my kids school can get free money.

How many el hoardos does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

Invalid question. All the el hoardos are stealing your games!

I have a question. Do poeple call in for the price or do you guys actually go in store and see the prices for yourselves...I call and they keep saying that the price is $60. Do target employees lie about the prices over the phone? Also, are the PS3 version of Tekken 6 $15 or is it just the X360?

I'm hoping Lego Rock band hits 75% off today
I also saw Punch Out last night but it was $34.98 so I'll be keeping an eye on that one too

I'll be heading in shortly, hoping that SW:tfu has finally dropped from $20. Although a Fallout 3 GOTY (PC) for 12.97 wouldn't be too shabby!

I got RE5 for $10 finally. My Target had TE5 for $20 for last 3 or more weeks. also I saw Marvel UA 2 for $15 and Fight Night Round 4 for $10.

Confirmed Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 for $14.98 for X360. Even without the downloadable content available anymore, it's a pretty good deal and if you can find a Target with the guide clearanced at $4.98 even better...

I always go in person, sounds like they just quote you for the MSRP. The only Tekkens I seen were X360

Wait until you play it...beat the copy I got last week and it's going to Gamestop this week for a $20 credit towards GOW 3.
I always go in person, sounds like they just quote you for the MSRP. The only Tekkens I seen were X360
Cool. I might have to go in person. Do they let you take the game out of the case and scan the price or do they scan the price only at check out?
...Thanks for the awesome information. I supected it wasn't a high volume store, but all in the NW have been this way. I think the NW area buyers don't buy many as they don't sell many...
Buying is almost never done regionally for major chains. There are too many ins and outs in regards to budget, working with distributors, arranging deals, etc. Usually there is one home-office person in charge of buying for the company for each category. I'd assume a chain as large as Target would have a buyer for each sub-cat of video games (PS3, XBOX, Wii, etc.) or a person who buys only video games and accessories. Either way, the buyer usually doesn't determine distribution of product (other than a general idea) - this is usually done by a planner or inventory allocator. The planner uses things like expected sales / sell thru rate, store volume, current inventory, store budget (for inventory), etc - but usually more importantly category volume. You can have a high-volume Target be low-volume video games, thus resulting in a smaller distro. Etc. Anyways that's the short and sweet of how buying / distro works at almost every major retail company. Regional buying for most companies was done away with in the 1980s - but some categories still have it in some companies (it's fairly rare, especially for big-box chains).

I was really hoping :ps3: Band Hero would be on clearance this week. Wishful thinking, I didn't see anything I wanted :whistle2:(. Hopefully this helps someone.

Also, while it was not on clearance (don't want to get anyone excited), I did see a single copy of :360: Mass Effect 2: Collector's Edition hidden in the new zip cord case at the First Colonial Target. If you've missed out [over and over again] on getting a copy of it, there is one there.

Basically the only thing ordered at target are the food items that are not vendor oriented. The rest is controled at aforementioned higher levels.
I must say I love your name.:bouncy:

Will be checking mine today after work for FFXIII hopefully they screw up again as to the release date of all of the tuesday games.
Well thank you. I'm hoping for a Beatles Rock Band clearance drop soon.

Any clearance games at my store(s) are all out of the glass. I'm sure you could get a employee to do it for you though.

Interesting. The stores I've been here in Houston, TX have the games behind the glass with the orange sticker on them. There was only 1 location that had both games behind the glass & on a whole aisle. I guess it's a YMMV.

Picked up the last copies of
iconps3.gif
H.A.W.X and
iconps3.gif
Bakugan at the Target near my work for $9.98 each. Both were behind the glass and labeled with a clearance tag.

Noticed an oddity today - Dark Void :360: is on clearance for 41.98 at a few my local Targets. However, the Targets where it didn't go on clearance had a seemingly permanent price drop to 39.99 for it. I assume that means that if/when those copies go on clearance they'll clear out based off of the 39.99 price and not the 59.99 price, correct?

Also, it looks like a couple of my Targets received waaaaay too many Mass Effect 2s - I counted around 40 at one and probably close to 60 at another. Hopefully interest will die off and those will start clearancing soon also, but that's surely wishful thinking.

Bought GH5 :360: today for 14.98. Went to the car and opened it up. Took the $5 coupon back inside with my receipt and had them add the coupon to it. So $9.98+tax for me, not a bad deal at all.

Smart!
I kinda figured that there might have been a few left today, trust me I am kicking myself for not grabbing one the other day. Its the cheap ass in me waiting for just one more price drop.
Didn't Tekken start at $60 on the clearance cycle??? If it goes to 90% off, it'd be a miracle. I have only ever seen one game go to 90% at my Targets - one of the Tony Hawk games a few years back. Otherwise, they get sold or get surplussed at 75%...

Went to Lennox Target in Columbus, OH and they still have GH: Metallica for PS3 at 19.99. Unbelievable! This is the 4th or 5th week in a row now that title hasn't budged downward at that store.

The only big-name game on clearance at my local Cedar Rapids NE Target was Fight Night Round 4 at 9.99. Roughly 10 copies at that price. I'd already purchased it at that price at Best Buy a few months back, so I didn't bite.

Anyone score Lego: Rock Band for $12.48? One of my local Targets is sitting on a load of them, but I'm not going to bother to stop if they haven't hit 75% off yet.

I did, and my store is a late hold out, so chances are if mine hit yours did.

The Target in Pasadena, CA had about 15 copies of Gears of War 2 Standard Edition marked down to $7.48.

If your interested the address is 777 East Colorado Boulevard, Pasadena, CA 91101.

Scored Lego Rock Band (360) at Target a little while ago for $7.48, been waiting on that one for a while.
Next drop I'm waitiing for is Punch Out

Actually I did today, but I guess someone found it for $7.49 so keep your eyes peeled.

I also got Chaotic for $7.49. My expectations aren't very high for it so we'll see.

Jones Valley Target in Huntsville, AL had Bakugan and Guitar Hero: Smash Hits on PS3 for $9.98. The only other thing I saw on clearance was Hot Wheels: Battle Force 5 for DS for $13.98.

University Drive Target had Xbox 360 wired controllers for $27.98. All the clearance end caps at both stores are pretty much empty.

Midnight Club LA (PS3) - $7.48
Midnight Club LA (PSP) - $4.98
Devil Kings (PS2) - $3.74
Jak & Daxter: The Lost Fontier (PS2) - $7.48
HAWX (PS3) - $9.98

Man, big time fail at my local stores. The first one I went to had Tiger Woods 10 (360) for $41.xx, Bakugan (360) for $24.xx?, and Grand Slam Tennis (Wii) for $12.xx. No ps3 games.

And the second had nothing but pc games on the clearance shelf. FNR4 was tagged $19.98 in the case. I guess there's nothing worth going back for in the next few weeks, although I'd probably pick up Bakugan for ~$10 even though I have no idea what it's about.
